This is one of those posts mostly rambling about various things.

We finished Hell Motel! Yay! Overall the series was pretty good, though there were a few times it felt like people died too close together. But I did like the first episode twist and it was a bold choice to finish on an ep so disconnected from the rest of the series.

It has made me curious about Slasher, so I might start it over spooky season and make it a weekly thing (with an ep or two) though we’ll see.

Yesterday was a lazy kinda day. It was mostly spent watching Murder She Wrote, then half watching Strictly while watching Seapeekay compete in twitch rivals. That was ok though early strictly is immensely long, though I did enjoy a few of the dances.

Then I watched Nine Bodies In A Mexican Morgue, which was pretty good. It’s about a plane that’s crashed in the Mexican jungle (or forest?) however among the survivors is a killer. And clearly a successful one as, when the plane is found 8 days later there’s 9 bodies of the 10 people on the plane. Who it is and why is gonna be the central mystery. It is funny though, it has the presenter of pottery throw down only she’s doing an American accent and it throws me off so hard.

I’m curious to see how it plays out and it seems mum is too.

On Friday a new film came to shudder, House On Eden. I didn’t watch it release day but did watch it last night. Thoughts under the cut.

Today I watched the next episode of Wednesday and yesss YESSSS it had Tyler shirtless and collared and chained. Thank you whoever decided to have him like that that was hot. A+ work I hope you get a raise.

The ep is mostly a great one not just cause of that. Christopher Lloyd’s cameo role is nice and it addresses one issue I had with season 1 the lack of other teachers. I really hate the new principle. Like wanting Bianca to use her powers and threatening her if she says no? That’s such dickish behaviour.

I do feel another issue from season 1 is gonna raise its head. It’s clear from this ep that Morticia is gonna be around a lot more this season as she’s moved into a cottage on campus. Already I feel unconvinced this will sell us on Catherine Zeta Jones’ performance of her. (However I do love Pugsley’s vibes)

There is also Wednesday’s stalker which uses Saw Like ‘do you want to play a game’type messages. And her chemistry with Enid is unmatched. If only they weren’t cowards and made them a couple. (And I love Enid’s friendship with Thing)

Finally I watched The Savages, after having the blu ray sitting there since it came out and that was…. *checks* March 27th. Damn.

I think I held off cause of the last season plus this is a first Doctor one . Thankfully it is a four parter which is good, because the longer ones are such a slog. Unfortunately the essence of the ep, two groups of people on a planet one exploiting the other, has been done better. The how is an interesting take though, with the essence of the ‘savages’ being used to enrich the elite.

It is just a bit of a talky one, though the animation does make things look nice. Also it is the last ep for Steven and his ending is such an odd one. He essentially get volunteered to stay and it felt he had no real say in it.

Overall it was better than I expected but I as I wasn’t expecting much…

Though it was funny the doctor had a device and he called it a ‘reacting vibrator’.

Tomorrow I’ve got a call which… ugh. I hate the calls they’re needlessly stressful. Since I’m not going to the mystery film I might watch the Stranger Things season 4 finale, but knowing me I won’t.

Then it’s the start of spooky season, deciding if I’ll try kinktober and a cinema trip I’ve still not settled on.

The weather continues to be irritating. It’s so hard to focus or do much of, well, anything. Between lack of focus and being drained the last few days have been a bit eh. And it’s been really annoying cause, as mentioned before I can’t even do much at night cause my eyes or head aches which ugh.

And I can’t even listen to audio stuff half the time without losing my focus and having to pause and rewind.

Bleh it’s so annoying.

It feels it could be shifting cause there’s been rain but at the same time it doesn’t feel enough.

But anyway onto things the last few days.

Tuesday was the library stint where I started Cards On The Table (which seems pretty good so far) and I also read one of my comics, Exquisite Corpses. The premise is pretty intriguing, every four years an American town is cut off from the world and the 13 richest families send killers in there and the family withkiller that survives gets to rule for the next four years. Being a first ep it’s mostly introducing the concept, the killers and some people of the town (who are no doubt gonna have a terrible not good time caught in the crossfire). I am tempted to get the other issues, but I’ve got conflicting info about how long it’s gonna be so I need to find that out.

That night we watched Hell Motel on shudder which was pretty great so far. I dunno if anyone else is thinking of watching but you should! The first two eps were really good and I have no idea of where it’s gonna go. (Well other than more people are going die, but that’s a given)

Unfortunately that night was probably the night I did the most cause every other night was draining or achy cause of this damn heat. Bleh I did do Dredge some more in bits and pieces. I finished the third area, the one in the swamp, so I’ve got one area left of the main game (though I have the dlc stuff and started fixing the rig). I do wanna get the ship’s hull expanded before going and see if there’s side quest stuff to do first but we’ll see.

I got a mail saying there was £10 off a £40 shop at the co-op so after debating (cause of the heat and cause it’s at the co-op by the station) we decided to go Friday which probably was the best day to do it. Of course doing that was pretty tiring too but, well £10 off is £10 off.

After debating I did end up getting Civilization vii from cdkeys so I played two games and damn I forgot how long they could be. First game was as Hatshepsut and ended in a lose but I blame having two ai people near me who constantly picked fights with me at the same time. Second game was Harriet Tubman and that was more peaceful (two ai’s picked fights with each other and tried to get me involved but I was like nah) but it still ended up in a loss, though I was close to a scientific victory. I dunno when I’ll do another game cause it is a massive timesink.

Today we might watch Better Man (I picked it up for mum) and finish an ESO event thing (though ugh it seems the new season isn’t included in the eso+ for some irritating reason) and then maybe Saltburn tonight cause it’s on tv. Though I sense I’ll mostly flop and have no focus again.

But speaking of films I did use the Amazon credit I got on I Know What You Did Last Summer (cause most of the things I thought of weren’t there and the trailer for the new one made me wanna watch) so I’ll watch before the new one, whenever that is.

And also yay! James Marriott’s album is number 1!
shadowhive: (Link/Sidon The Turning Tide)
My energy has still been a but drained after Monday, so I’ve not been doing much at nights like I’ve hoped, mostly cause my eyes were too achy to watch stuff/game. So the other night I ended up just listening to audios (catching up on Magnus Protocol and a Who audio. The later was Tales From The Vault which was a really good concept, set at a UNIT vault that holds various artefacts and including recordings from prior companions. It was a neat idea and feels a shame they didn’t expand on it to more follow ups.

Continuing the Nintendo switch 2 thoughts there was day 1 of a treehouse stream yesterday and I watched it so you don’t have to (it was 4+ hours!). I did end up flagging a bit cause of the length though. Mostly it was playing through sections of the various games (and both Mario Kart and Donkey Kong got 2 sections)

*Mario Kart - Looks really pretty and it does look like it’ll be really fun. Someone did the sums and there’s (assuming every page of characters has 12 characters) 84 playable characters which seems crazy. No word on if you have to unlock them (I guess that’ll be in the direct) though I’m assuming stuff like free roam will include that
*Donkey Kong - Again it looks really pretty and some of the mechanics do look clever. Im not fully sold on it cause it seems to be destroying things a lot. BUT there is a cute lil rock guy friend
*Metroid - Looks really great, the opening cutscene especially looks suitably epic. I’ve not really played Metroid before but I feel I’d be tempted
*Welcome Tour - It looks interesting and there some cute mini game things… but it really feels like something that should be included on the system for free. I don’t see anyone paying for this
*Drag X Drive - I love the concept and the controls are original, but I’m curious if there’s any form of customisation cause all the players looked the same. Also I feel this is one game where you’d need a demo to see if the control system works for you
*Zelda upgrades - They showed some of BOTW side by side with switch versions and you could see the difference, especially in loading times. They also went over some of the Zelda notes features and some do look cool, especially being able to share things you’ve made as well as items. The many draw will be the new voice acted memories, though I’m not fond of them being tied to an app instead of just being in game

Day 2’s stream has started now so I’ll either post later or maybe edit here (first is Mario party).

Last night I’did end up feeling up to watching a thing, which was Hostile Dimensions. It’s a new found footage film on shudder which just came on the uk version (I dunno if it’s elsewhere) and I’d not heard it before but the description was interesting.

Synopsis time: While filming in an abandoned building a pair of documentary filmmakers find a mysterious door. After one goes missing the footage is found online and two more documentary filmmakers decide to find what happened.

Thoughts under the cut.

All in all it feels like a solid little film, I’d probably give it a 7.5/10 (though I’m never good at rating things). Solid concept, pretty great execution. Would watch again.

Now I’m gonna watch treehouse some more, snuggle Midna and then… I dunno.
shadowhive: (Awsten Knife)
So after the last post my focus was a bit off befor a bit, but in the night I decided to watch the next Horror’s Greatest episode. (Which for me is episode 3)

Horror’s Greatest is a show on Shudder and each episode is about a different horror thing and then talking about films about said thing. The second ep, for instance, was about Giant Monsters which obviously ended up being Godzilla focussed. This ep was about Japanese horror so of course was of great interest to me.

Of course it touched on films I knew about (5 of the 12 films it recommended were ones I’d seen, 3 in the last year including Noroi my beloved!) and there were a few I wanna try and find. Cure and Pulse both looked interesting (I’m sure I’ve been recced pulse) and it renewed my desire to watch Uzumaki so I might watch this week. But there was also one called Kwaiden which is an older film I’d heard mentioned before. It’s an anthology done by one director and he got an abandoned warehouse to film it in (and even painted the backdrops himself!) and honestly the sets look really great so I’m curious about that.

(There was also a film called House which looks so surreal)

Yesterday I ended up reading The ABC Murders. I started reading it after Five Little Pigs (ironically on the train to watch Murder On The Orient Express), intending it to fill the gap between that and Thirteen Problems, the next Read Christie book. However between sickness meaning I didn’t have the focus to read and then depression/anxiety draining me it’s took longer. However over the past week I’ve been reading a few chapters a day, and yesterday I intended to just read a few but I read 13, finishing it so… l thoughts ahoy.

(And yeah it’s not a read Christie book but I’m including it in the tag anyway, partly cause it is a Christie book but also cause I still don’t have Thirteen Problems and likely won’t till next week which is too late to finish in Feb unless I speed read which is unlikely)

I dunno what I’m gonna read next, I don’t wanna start another Christie book until I have Thirteen Problems (I wanna get the boxset version but now I have to wait) I could start the third book of course (or one of the others) but don’t wanna skip. So instead I might finish the first story in I Want The Twink Obliterated since I’ve found it or I might start Flight Of Icarus instead.

Speaking of Stranger Things I might get back to it tonight. I’ve still not found the Henry Funko I have which is bothering me so much. I wasn’t gonna get any others cause of the gig next week (more soon about that) but then Funko had a sale and I looked and… dmanit they had the exclusive bloody Steve (and a different Eddie and Mike) so I had to get them. I’m just glad the selection was small, the US site had three to four times as much.

Next week it’s the Set It Off gig and there is a little anxiety about it, but mostly cause my phone is awol. I’m more annoyed at the at cause I want the SIM card to transfer to a new one (I caved and decided I’d need a gig phone after the sleep token gig) but can I find it? Nope. I have ordered a free sim which came the over say but… ugh. So yeah I need to set that up before I go.

I’m also waiting to see what the merch is. While the tour started in Europe a few weeks ago I’ve not seen anything posted. The band did post a vid backstage which did show some of the merch but it was just a quick flash look. (None of it seemed too interesting though so…)

I’m also trying to decide if I go a bit earlier to see something at the Odeon. Some of the films for next week have been put up but I’m gonna wait and see if it’s the full times. So far there’s three films that’s a possibility: The Monkey (which I saw a trailer of but I’m not sure about), Hearteyes (which I know nothing about but I’m curious, I might lookup a trailer but it only has one showing listed) and the new Captain America. The latter Iconsidered seeing with mum but between us being sick and money we’d not arranged anything. Truthfully i wanna see it cause Harrison Ford is in it, but I’ve seen mixed thoughts on it (and, of course, there’s that Israeli character being added but maybe she’s been cut?).

Has anyone seen/will be seeing these to give thoughts?

If I don’t see a film I might just go later and only go in hmv (to see if they’ve got a tee) and the game outlet (to see what they have).

Lastly health update. Mum went with her library friend to drop off her friends prescription and she asked if they’d heard anything about my results. Apparently they got them on the 4th (and just… didn’t call to let us know despite asking??) so I’m having a phone appointment this afternoon in about an hour or two. Hopefully that’ll ease my mind.

Other than that I’m hoping to watch the latest High Potential and maybe Stranger Things, but we’ll see.
shadowhive: (15 Hot)
Thanks for all the replies to the last post about mum and her fall. So an update on that before getting to the rest of the post.

For most of Sunday mum rested and seemed to be ok, though had a bit of trouble moving later and still had hand issues, struggling to use it. She did decide to try and call the doctor to see what to do, but alas it wasn’t much help.

She first called and they said they’d call back with info, but she had to call back. After making an appointment for next week and seeing a friend, she’s decided we’re going to the hospital tomorrow. We’re gonna be leaving at about 9:30 but who knows how long we’ll actually be there for (so I’ll take my pad, book and some stuff to read).

Hopefully everything will turn out ok and her hand is aching cause it’s shook up but who knows.

Hopefully we won’t be there all day too but…

Also Sunday I started building the phantom II and ghost Lego which is 13 bags so is a lot. (I’ve only done the first 5) The phantom II is so cute, if a lil smol and I’m glad chopper is in there cause he’s cute and a menace.

At the night I ended up blue screening a bit, likely cause of being so stressed. I was unable to decide on anything so just laid there for like half an hour plus, which was annoying.

Anyway onto the main part of the post, thoughts on various things. All the cut causa spoilers. First Late Night With The Devil, then Doctor Who, then Eurovision.

Anyway now I’m gonna bundle up and rest cause I feel drained and I’m not looking forward to spending tomorrow at the hospital.

Five questions from [personal profile] yarnofariadne

1. Is there a game you've played that you wish had a sequel? Which one?

I’ve mentioned it before but Eternal Darkness. It’s a game for the GameCube, one of the first ones I got and it has such an interesting premise. You play as various characters throughout history, who are impacted by an ancient evil. As such each section is wildly different in both setting and style, which I remember being fun.

However the most memorable thing about it was the insanity system. As you encountered enemies it would take its toll on the characters (as the enemies are largely eldritch entities) and this would increase your insanity. This would cause various things to happen in game. Sometimes you’d see things that weren’t there, or a fly across the screen…. Or an error screen saying you’d lost your save.

I’d love there to be a sequel, or even a remaster! But it seems unlikely as the studio is long since gone. But the insanity thing is such a cool idea.

Also there’s Hotel Dusk, which was a game on the DS and used both screens to their fullest as you investigated a hotel. This at least did have a sequel, but again, the studio is gone so it’s unlikely to get a thing else.

2. What's your favourite horror movie?

Again, I’m sure I’ve said this before, but it’s Trick R Treat. It’s a film I watch every year on Halloween and it’s the perfect example of an anthology film done right. The segments are all set in the same town, which means they all weave together.

It’s not the scariest or most gory of films, but I still love it so much. And if you love Halloween and you’ve not seen it you definitely should.

3. Do you have any songs or even a playlist you like to listen to on rainy days?

Not really, I mostly like to just lay back and listen to the rain, especially when it’s heavy. It’s nice just to do that but we haven’t had a proper storm for awhile.

4. If you could visit any 5 cities in the world and money was no object, which would you choose?

Of all the questions this was the hardest and I’ve had it milling in my head awhile and still don’t fully have an answer. I thought that something obvious would come to mind if I thought on it, but alas.

I’d like to go to Tokyo, because I’ve always wanted to visit Japan and that seems like a good place to visit (even though it’d be crowded and might be overwhelming).

The rest are gonna be more general places than cities. I’d like to go to Australia, but not for myself, but to take mum. It’s always been her dream to go there and I’d like to take her to go and see the koalas and such.

I’d like to see the Amazon, I think it’d be amazing to see the jungle even though it’d be overwhelming in terms of heat.

And in a similar vein I’d also like to go somewhere like Chichén Itzá, I think it’d be interesting to see.

And I wanna go somewhere to see the aurora. I know there’s places in good spots, but I’m not sure where they are.

So yeah that’s not an interesting response, mostly because I’m sure there’s something more specific that escapes my brain. I know I’ve watched tv shows and thought ‘I want to go there!’ And I know now I’ve done this one will come to mind in minutes

5. If you could have any animal for a household pet aside from typical ones, which would you choose?

I’m gonna answer in two ways. First are non typical animals that are pets and that’s axolotls (I love their lil smiley faces!) and sugar gliders (which are so cute and smol). Or crabs! They’re not as unusual but I like their claws

But then if it was any animal ever I’d say a capybara because they’re so chill and bats (though I’d not want the bats as pets, just… have them somewhere so they have a safe roosting place.)

Let me know in a comment if you want some, though I can’t promise they’ll be good

***

My mood the last few days has been very… changeable. It’s very annoying and very exhausting but the mood seems okish now so I’m not gonna get into it now. (Not that there’s anything specific to get into because it’s just depression being depression)

Over the past few days I’ve seen two films.

The first was Elevator Game on shudder. I didn't go in expecting much and that’s what I got. It’s an ok horror film, though it feels like it doesn’t do enough with some of its concepts so it makes it largely forgettable (though the cast do give it a good try).

Second was the new Haunted Mansion, which was was fun for the most part, though it did feel a little overlong (especially with one section that felt like a fetch quest). But still it was good and again, the cast did a good job and had good chemistry.

After an announcement trailer last week, the Animal Crossing lego sets got revealed today. I think that they largely look cute, though I think it’s strange how sets only have a max of two villagers. It feels like the bigger ones definitely should have at least one more. I love that Julian is in the cheapest of the sets so I can get him easily, but it’s also sad that it’s a birthday set and he’s all alone. I’ll have to get another one so he has a friend. I fully expect there’ll be a second wave with KK and such later on.

Creativity has been strange. On Saturday I had three fics I was hoping to work on, but between then and now I have started to more which isn’t too helpful. Also mood has meant I’ve not done as much as I’d hoped which is also a nuisance. I might be able to finish one later, but we’ll see.

Today we were walking back with Naryu and I had a mailman come up to us with a package. I couldn’t think what it could be, but it turned out to be the tentacle kitty set I’d backed on kickstarter last year. The kitty and outfit is so cute, but I think the best thing is the huge mimic chest, which I think I’ll use for dice.

Tomorrow we should be making a trip out to Birmingham. I’m not really looking for anything specific, so it’s mostly a trip out really. (Though it seems my pod thing is awol again and I’ll have to look for it)

Also, uk people, the Interview With A Vampire show us coming to bbc 2 on Thursday so if anyone has been looking for that… (has anyone seen? Is it worth a look?)
shadowhive: (Dreamnap Patches!)

I wasn’t gonna do another post this soon but I figured I’d post about what I ended up watching last night.

So after Silent Witness (and iplayering House Of Games) I didn’t really feel like gaming, so I decided to watch a film on shudder instead (cause it was the only thing of my monthly things I’d not watched anything on). It shows how long it had been since I watched something on there since it had signed me out of the Xbox app (annoyingly).

I ended up watching a film called Scare Package 2: Rad Chad’s Revenge. Thoughts under the cut.

shadowhive: (Badboyhalo Heart)
So yesterday was my birthday and this post is gonna be mostly about that (first of all thanks for all the birthday wishes, I need to answer all the Facebook ones in a bit) but it’ll also be about a few other things because… fuck.

So a few days ago I decided to run a twitter poll for what I’d watch on my birthday. I thought I’d have a two hour gap (between Halloween Wars, which I just found out the other day was on food network) and taskmaster. The gote was three options: The Umbrella Academy, The Sandman or one ep of each. It became pretty clear that The Umbrella Academy was gonna win so I fully intended on watching that yesterday.

So on Wednesday, after Andor (and getting the update of Dreamlight Valley downloading) I decided to watch the first Sandman ep and I’m pretty intrigued by it all and hoping to watch more soon (maybe later).

Of course Badboyhalo decides he’s gonna do a big announcement stream during the time slot on my birthday so… yeah I ended up not watching it (again!) but! I’ll put it on later today. Maybe. Hopefully. We’ll see.

But back to my birthday day. I didn’t do uni stuff cause birthday (and my energy was a bit off) and I fully intended to come down a bit earlier to walk the pup (cause I knew a package would be coming). Alas I didn’t cause mum was yelling (not about anything me or the pets did, but about her teeth breaking again) so I decided to stay up instead. Plus it was pretty wet anyway.

I spent the morning while waiting building my birthday present, a Lego set of the droid BD-1. I ended up building two bags before going to town and a third when we got back (of a total of six) and so far that’s his legos and lower body done. (He’s a droid from Fallen Order which I really, really need to get back to at some point).

Town trip was a bit of a bust, I didn’t need to go, I could’ve stayed home and built more, but I went mostly to see if Smiths had the new Doctor Who magazine special (alas they didn’t, but I got a penguin instead), to see what Halloween stuff Poundland had (I mostly got sweets and some reduced Lego vidiyo blind boxes, but alas there wasn’t the cool shark) and went to Asda (I got the pumpkin I hoped for but alas they didn’t have any of the avocado and halloumi things).

It’s here I make a slight interlude. On Wednesday the beleaguered prime minister said she was a fighter, implying she’d not go without a fight. Over the course of the day she lost her Home Secretary (a truly, utterly vile woman who shouldn’t have been anywhere near power), and then that night there was a vote to ban fracking which should have been the easiest thing in the world, but tories made it into a thing. There was harassment, bullying and a whole load of nonsense.

So cut to yesterday, I’m in Poundland just looking at the Halloween stuff to see if there’s anything new and I overhear someone on the phone. The PM has resigned. Some fighter she is. So now we have a week of more Tory nonsense as they try and decide who best to take the job (would anyone want it? It’s surely a poisoned chalice) which will surely mean a general election because people are fed up.

At least Truss will be remembered as the shortest serving PM (beating one who died in office).

Well shortest one so far.

But anyway, back to yesterday. So we came back, I built some Lego, had some noms then cake (and went on Animal Crossing for the birthday thing) and then I watched Bad’s stream. It was an announcement on upcoming lore streams (and some awesome merch!) there’s a big thing on Sunday (please don’t be on the same time as doctor who please!) which has a lot of people involved. I’m glad Bad got Eryn and Seapeekay involved cause it’ll be their first major thing (especially Eryn), followed by Bad doing one next Saturday (and inspired by Quackity it’s pre recorded and a big thing). So that all sounds really cool and it means I’ll have to (finally) watch Red Banquet soon because I wanna see (and from the animatics Bad is kinda hot during it?).

But yeah that ate up the time till Taskmaster, which was pretty fun. Then there was a short gap before the Resident Evil Showcase stream. It was pretty much only about two things, the dlc for Village (and RE:Verse which is coming soon too and is included with it) but there was also info and some gameplay from Resident Evil 4, which looks so awesome! I’m not sure I’m quite sold on the new look for Luis yet though. But damn, do they go hard on the bonus Leon outfits in the dlc. There’s four alternate costumes and some are really, really hot and for why? I need Leon/Leon (and Leon/Ranboo) fic stat! (Although why is it only for Xbox series x and not one, especially when PlayStation 4 is getting it)

The Resident Evil stream was the third of three gaming streams this week and I think it was definitely the best of the three. The Sims one Tuesday wasn’t that great and the Silent Hill one was… off somehow? Despite some interesting reveals it just seemed… I dunno.

Anyway, last birthday thing was watching VHS99 with Chai (who is so sweet!)k which came to shudder yesterday. For those that don’t know what VHS is, it’s a horror film series that’s essentially a found footage anthology film. The one that came to shudder last year, vhs94, was really really strong with only the last segment being eh (because of the content/setting really) so I had hopes this one would be good too.

Alas it wasn’t. There was a few things of it that stood out and I think there was only one really good segment. (The first one had a real pretty guy, well two, but the characters were obnoxious, the second had spiders eww, the third was the best of the bunch, the fourth was another bunch of obnoxious people though I liked the end and the last one was pretty good.) but yeah that was kinda a shame.

Today I’m hoping to finish BD-1, maybe watch stuff (Ranboo has a dinner stream which no one knows what it means) and hopefully fic more, but we’ll see. And hopefully the who magazine will come cause it’s over a week late, though I’m thinking there’s a distribution issue cause smiths didn’t have it either.
shadowhive: (Quackity Looking up)
My arm is now better from the jab which is good… but now my throat feels all scratchy for some reason which is so annoying. It started last night and it’s just ugh. It’s not too bad, but as had hoped to have some Doritos and watch something this weekend which I’m not gonna attempt in case it makes it worse. Ugh.

The Mario trailer came out before taskmaster and my thoughts on it are, well. the animation looks incredible and it looks so pretty and Jack Black clearly understands the assignment as Bowser but Chris Pratt? Not so much.

I decided to watch another film on shudder this week. I ended up watching Deadstream Thursday night, which was about a disgraced influencer doing a stream in a haunted horse. It was actually better than I expected it would be. (Although it did leave me with some questions.) The main guy was a bit… well he was a complete idiot at times (removing the spark plugs to his car so he’d not been tempted to leave, padlocking the door… and then dropping the key throat a grate for the same reason). But still, I liked it. I’m not sure I’d watch it again anytime soon but if there’s a follow up or something by the same people? I’d be curious.

Yesterday the Fortnite comic came, which I still need to read but the reward for all them is a pretty cool air on Man outfit from it.

As predicted I went to town yesterday which was a bit eh. I’d hoped to get some adult colouring books from Asda but of course they didn’t have them (and other places didn’t have things either) but I did get a Thor tee. I also got a bunch of Halloween things, including a few kits to make/paint things. It was pretty annoying though cause I missed buses on the way there and way back (one went just as I was leaving the front door).

Yesterday night was the DreamSMP which seemed… off somehow. (And it’s not just me that thinks so from what I can tell.) The presenter just didn’t have any charisma (I wish Jack had done the presenting like the other panel that made it fun) and it just seemed so odd. Ranboo didn’t really say anything and I’m not sure if it was because he was tired from jet lag (he only arrived the day before then had the morning meet and greet) or something else.

On the plus side Foolish was there for the first part and he looked so damn hot (and of course Quackity sat next to him) and Dream was nice to insist some of the others joined the stage for it. (And the answers to the head canon question was fun) and I did learn that peanut butter on celery is a thing (and not just a Foolish thing).

But yeah it just felt strange. Maybe it’s because twitchcon hasn’t exactly been the best from what I hear, cause they mismanaged meet and greets and the panel was in a small room (even though they knew it would be in high demand) hopefully the cooking stream later is better and I know that name your price will be fun (although the replacement is an unknown to me which is a shame).

After that I didn’t do too much, I watched the new Ghost Files (damn the way they talked about the ghost that’s apparently a hot guy) and finished up a quest on ESO (and also doing one of the antiquities thing which ugh, it’s so annoying). I’m hoping to do a spooky game soon cause I haven’t yet, even if it’s just cult of the lamb which I’ve still not gone on.

Last night too the Doctor Who twitter announced the trailer was coming today. I expected it to be on tv before or after strictly (though it still likely will be) but then they posted it this afternoon suddenly instead. It looks like it’ll be pretty awesome and epic, though again it does make me feel a little… worried, that there might be too much in it and that they’re not given time to breathe. I hope the ep is long enough to allow that. I guess we’ll find out soon.

I might do a song Saturday later but we’ll see. Or it might just be tomorrow. Now I’m gonna rest and see what’ll happen.
shadowhive: (Eret Dress Fuck gender roles)
So awhile after making the last post we had a call from mums friend, the one who came Saturday. It was a surprise because usually she just calls once a week, on Friday (she doesn’t even call to let us know things she got us to order arrived) so it was pretty strange.

Turns out she did a test and has covid.

We did tests Monday morning and they both came out negative, but I know it doesn’t necessarily mean anything. I’ve decided to cancel the plan to go see Thor this weekend just to be safe, which is sucky but… better to be safe. And hey they might have an earlier showing the following week.

I did wonder if covid would explain why I’ve been feeling a bit rough lately, but it seems not. I guess it could be just because of the annoying heat but… I dunno.

Anyway, the second part of the download thing was Sunday and I’d say it was better than the first, especially the first hour. BVB played two songs in it and, while I can’t remember exactly what they were, but they were earlier songs which was pretty good (I think one was in the end). There was a bit of a downer cause Deftones did a song but I dunno if it was the audio or singer, it just didn’t sound too great sadly. There was also a few Biffy songs and… honestly I can’t remember too much else. Alas there was no Funeral For A Friend like I hoped though.

Monday wasn’t too exciting. I ended up watching an Xbox stream in the afternoon and I couldn’t fit in the next ep of the Who run (it’s odd though one disc has an extended version of part 1…. But not the other parts so I have to disc watch to watch it which was annoying). We did watch McDonald and Dodds on the itv player which was the best ep of this run. Alas it was also annoying, as the itv player kept acting up. Every time there was an ad break it would end up buffering and not show the next part, so I had to keep leaving and resuming. Ugh.

Wilbur and George were doing a ghost hunt thing Monday and did an impromptu live stream before doing the filming… but the signal wasn’t too great and kept cutting out. It put me in the mood to watch something spooky, but I ended up being too tired to watch anything.

Before I went to bed I went to get sonic colours, since it was on sale and I had Xbox points to get credit for extra off… but there was an error on the Xbox store. I ended up having to get cried from elsewhere to buy the thing, which was annoying. Hopefully it’s something they’ve sorted because it was just odd.

Tuesday was too warm to do any messing about in the garage (which becomes a hot box in weather like this) so I ended up gaming. I gave sonic colours a try, which was pretty fun so far and I also gave Moo Lander a go, which I won a code for a week ago. I’m enjoying that too and the puzzles are pretty clever and the boss fight, an alien cow, was surprisingly hard. Unfortunately both of those games suffer a bit from whatever is wrong with the Xbox controller, so I ended up ordering a new one from prime day.

I also did some Elder Scrolls Online, finishing the Deadlands at last. Woo! There were some parts that I could see coming, but it was still fun as always and I hope some of the characters return in later stuff. Next is to do the prologue quest for High Isle before diving into that. There’s an eso plus trial at the moment, which is good cause the crafting bag means I can actually gather resources without them clogging my inventory. It’s meant I’ve finally got to to level 50 in two more crafting things finally, just blacksmithing to go now (and alchemy, which I never use). There’s also an event thing going on too, but it’s annoying cause some of the rewa4s needed to be used in imperial city which is the worst.

Another plus point was I went on Pokemon masters, got a reward on there and unlocked N which made me squee! N is so pretty and I’m so glad I got him, especially after getting his new pretty seasonal outfit a few days prior.

I found out yesterday that Star Wars micro galaxy squadron stuff has started showing up. I’d heard they were showing up in walmarts a few days before, but apparently they’re here too. Forbidden Planet and Smytchs both have them, but alas both are annoying to order from. (Annoyingly, and oddly, Amazon uk don’t have them despite US Amazon having them.) So if anyone sees them elsewhere let me know (they’re like old school action fleet sets so are a mix of vehicles and spaceships). The cheapest sets, and most likely to be spotted, are blind boxes with speeders and such. Here’s some pics of the blind boxes for reference

The Tory leadership contest is now down to 8 people and they’re…. All various shades of awful (but hey at least there’s not Pritti, Rees-Mogg or Nadine). They all seem either clueless, cruel or have done something illegal, often all of the above. It would be nice if we had someone at least competent or decent, but it seems one’s that had previously seemed that throw that away at the chance of power. But then again they’re Tories, that’s what they are.

There was a film coming to shudder yesterday which I was curious about, but it seemed not to be on there when o kept checking. Indeed it didn’t show up on the app until I checked after 10, but I decided to watch it anyway (after finishing the new show on pick, Banshee which is brutal but one of the characters is at least highly interesting and I hope they’re in it more). That film was Broadcast Signal Intrusion. (Thoughts under the cut on the slim chance anyone wants to see).

There’s a few things I’m hoping to do this week, but I dunno if I’ll actually do any. Ad Astra is on channel 4 Saturday and there’s a new detective thing on Sunday (which stars the actress that plays lady Felicia in father Brown as the co-lead so I’m curious) but other than that I dunno.

Here’s a list though of things I wanna try and do, in no really order.
*Read more little book of lesser known monsters
*look into sorting next uni course
*Start, finally, The Umbrella Academy season 3
*watch last weeks undeclared war ep which I missed
*Continue who run with The Two Doctors
*Ep of Moon Knight
*Game more (ESO, sonic colours, moo lander, maybe something else?)
*Game something on switch (cause I’ve been bad at that)
*Maybe watch something spooky

I know I’m missing something but I can’t think what.
shadowhive: (Lego Porg Two porgs in a cloak)
I ended up finishing the assessment Thursday afternoon and, pretty much, ended up giving up with it and just submitting it. The report part was just wearing me down and I didn’t think I could do more to it. But ah well, it’s done.

Phogs! came to gamepass so I’ve been doing a level a night and it’s so cute! It’s a game we’re you control a Phogs, which is basically a dog with two heads and you use them in a variety of ways to solve levels. The whole thing is bright and colourful and so cute. For some reason it give me similar (but opposite) energy to goose game. Also the Phogs can have hats! They’re currently wearing little mushrooms from the food world. (And they can get petted by some of the people!)

Control also came to gamepass, I’m hoping to start it soon.

On Friday was the new The Mandalorian.

On Animal Crossing I’ve got all of the diy recipes now, other than the upcoming winter ones (snowman, trees, toy day stuff) so yay!

Saturday was a pain cause it started with mum being bitchy, but the tree is now up. It’s only got soft stuff on cause I worried Naryu might knock stuff off trying to get to the windowsill (she hasn’t yet but still).

I did watch the Lego Star Wars Holiday special and it was fun, as the Lego Star Wars stuff always is. Plus there’s the scene of Hux having a very visible gay panic over seeing Kylo shirtless. And a Finn being trained as a Jedi! That’s something I wished we’d seen in the films instead of him just yelling Rey all the time.

I managed to watch some films, the first of the month. First was Body on Shudder, which was listed as ‘darkly comic’ except it really wasn’t. It was actually pretty unpleasant, getting worse as the film went on. Made worse by the main girl saying that they should tell the truth the whole time... until the end where they decide to make the horrible girl into some hero (and villianise an innocent man). All in all it was eh, but at least it was short.

Sunday I watched Mary and the witches flower on Film4, which is a gibhli esque film. It was sweet and a nice thing to watch on the weekend, although I expected Endor college to have Ewoks. I did think about watching a Peter Rabbit on 4 but got tired so dozed instead.

Lastly was The World is not Enough which was on last night. You gotta love that theme tune, and the fact that the big bad was a woman.

I’m sure there was something else I was gonna include in a post, but I’ve honestly completely forgotten. I’m sure it’ll come to mind soon after I’ve hit post.
shadowhive: (Frank Bloody)
The past few days have been mostly uneventful although my body has been irritating. I had a dizzy spell one morning which meant when I walked the pup I took the walking stick just to be on the safe side. My head’s also a bit achy too. I’m not sure what it is. Is it the depression/anxiety being a pain, stress or something else? Who knows anymore.

Stress side probably comes from mum getting a call last week about changing her over to universal credit. I obviously have heard all the nightmarish stories about it over the years, but she talked to the job center person Wednesday (and her friend from the library) and apparently she’ll get more money so... that’s been enough to convince her to sign up. I’m not convinced but... what can you do. She thinks cause of her age and the virus that nothing will change from how things are now but...

Eh.

(And, of course, there’s the general incompetence of the government which is infuriating)

I’ve not done as much gaming as I hoped to do, because of feeling even more tired which was annoying. I’ve done some ESO causa ESO plus being free and will try and do one of the group dungeons later. I did some Overwatch causa Halloween event but it just reminded me how bad I was at it.

Speaking of gaming there’s a sims 4 expansion sale on Xbox and I’m thinking of getting some. Cats and dogs is cheaper than it is on cd keys, as is eco lifestyles (but I’ve heard that’s still buggy). There was a patch the other week but I’m not sure if it’s sorted the Batuu issue so I might have to see.

My creativity is still bleh though I did start something so...

I’ve ended up watching two spooky films, one Tuesday, one last night. Tuesday’s on was Ring, the Japanese version. I’d not watched it in awhile and had forgotten just how good it was (even though the video is much tamer compared to the us one). It was the first Japanese film I remember watching years ago. Watching it made me wanna watch the others too. Ring 2 is on shudder so I can watch that there so I grabbed Ring 0, Spiral and The Ring Virus which I’ll watch soonish.

The other was the Mortuary Collection which was came to shudder the Thursday. It’s an anthology film and it was pretty good. All of the parts were solid (though the third one was sad) and it included tentacles, mpreg and a serial killer. Plus Clancy Brown was great as the main guy telling the stories.

There’s a few days left till my birthday now and my excitement is so low. I miss when I had someone to write me fic and that makes me sad. And birthdays always make me miss my grandparents so... eh.

I’m heading off to walk the pup now then the plan is strictly and discovery (I meant to watch it last night but we had a call so...)
shadowhive: (Patrick Bloody)
Yesterday turned out to be a bit better weather wise than Monday. We managed to walk the pup (despite rain starting meaning it got cut short) and the food shop came ok. It seems I have most of the Lego cards from sainsburys since the parks from Monday and yesterday hardly gave me anything.

The librarians finale was yesterday and it’s sad it ended when it did. It didn’t seem... final. But then I dunno how much notice they got that it was ending. I guess they could always bring it back, even though the actress that played Eve is gonna be busy with the new Star Trek.

Bake Off always makes me wish I could try the bakes, though it was sad Rowan left. He was one of my favs so it’s a shame.

Build a bear are doing a sale which I’d annoying cause Eevee isn’t discounted much. I ended up going on eBay and I’m watching some, though they don’t come with all the bells and whistles alas. I did win a Pikachu today which at least came with a hoodie (and wasn’t much) so bulbasaur will have a pal.

I started uni reading yesterday which was mostly intro stuff, though today’s reading was about a fire in Yellowstone that I had no idea about.

Today’s been oki, mostly watching stuff. I watched DS9 early cause there was a nintendo treehouse showing off some more Hyrule Warriors which looks pretty cool. I also watched an All creatures great and small and there’s a Trek thing on Blaze later.

I’m a bit annoyed both at my head and tumblr cause it’s not letting me see an artist I was following. I’m not sure if it’s tumblr being a bitch or being blocked but I suspect the latter which is a shame.

The cast list for a new Resident Evil film got announced today and, surprisingly, Tom Hooper is gonna be in it! He’s gonna be Albert Wesker which, if no one knows, is one of the series main villains. It’ll be interesting to see how he does.

It’s now under two weeks till my birthday. I’m not excited but I’m getting Mario so... and my Party Poison funko is on the way.

For Spooky season I’ve watched two more films so thoughts ahoy.

First is Scary Stories To Tell in the dark which is on amazon prime. Once it got going (the opening with a bunch of jock bullies being assholes was annoying) it was pretty good and certainly creepy. I had to look away at one point because of the scene involving spiders which was just... eww.

Second was Mon-Mon-Mon-Monsters which I watched on Shudder. It’s in Chinese with subtitles, and I’ve not seen a subtitled film in awhile but I figured I should since there was no Maxx stream or anything. It was strange at first because the opening had no subtitles which threw me, but they kicked in later. I felt so sorry for the main guy since he was being bullied by these assholes and the teacher was worse than useless. It was pretty gory in places, especially in stuff like the bus scene (and classroom one). It was pretty good and shows, again, that humans are the real monsters.

I also finished the main quest on Greymoor Monday which I was right, it was the final confrontation. Though there are definitely questions left hanging which will get answered in the upcoming dlc in Markath (hopefully).

I might not watch anything tonight though, but we’ll see.
shadowhive: (Patrick Bloody)
The past few days haven’t been terribly eventful, but spooky season has started. I’ve managed to do something spooky every day so far which is good.

Every day I’ve done some Elder Scrolls Online, which qualifies as spooky because I’m still doing Greymoor which is all about the spooky. I mean the place I’m at now is a gothic castle in the back of a cave that’s filled with vampires. I was right on my earlier thought, Svanna’s father, the high king, is involved in it. I think the current quest is one of the last of the main quest line, as it definitely feels like a final showdown is coming.

Other than that I watched Maxx’s spooky stream last night and I’ve watched two films (I thought of watching a third last night but I knew I was heading out today). So thoughts on the films ahoy.

First film was Scare Me which is new on Shudder. I’d seen the trailer on their twitter and was curious. The premise is it’s two people telling each other scare stories during a power cut. It’s... ok. The stories aren’t too special really and most of it could be treated as purely an audio thing. The ending also seems pretty rushed.

The second one was In The Tall Grass on Netflix. People get lost in tall grass (I’m not sure if I’d call it grass though, it looks more like corn stalks but what do I know). It’s pretty grim and ends up being timey wimey and so can be confusing (and I lost interest kinda) which is a shame because there’s not enough plant based horror.

I’m planning on watching a scary Stories to tell in the dark tonight on amazon. (And I’m glad colour out of space is coming to it later in the month!) I might watch something subtitled tomorrow night since there’s no Maxx stream. We’ll see.

I watched two non-horror films too. I watched Onward on Saturday which was pretty fun and I could so easily see Gerard and Mikey as the brothers. (And speaking of I have a new bandom related follower so, hi?) yesterday I watched Murder On The Orient Express which was on tv.

I’ve still don’t no writing though I was thinking of it. Maybe a I will soon. Also my depression has been... okish. It comes and goes, which always leads to overthinking and dwelling on things which is irritating as fuck.

Star Wars Squadrons came out Friday, though I’ve not done much on it yet. I’ve only done the opening prologue and one random fight. That was mostly due to my frustration with the Controls which seem kinda sluggish. This is especially clear in the end of the imperial side of the prologue, where you have to go down a tunnel and just... I could not turn fast enough. I must have crashed over 10 times which is so annoying. The rebel side was much easier with the only issue being accidentally leaving the map and the final attack run. Maybe with practice I’ll get better but we’ll see.

Other gaming things was getting pumpkins on Animal Crossing, yay! Being annoyed by Sims 4 (there’s some bug with the journey to batuu aspirations that needs a patch) and the new smash person is Steve from minecraft.

Today we went to get mum’s meds, which was ok although we got caught in the rain and I got soaked. I got some Halloween stuff in sainsburys though, most of which must have just got put out. I got a light up pumpkin, Lego book, a platter and a nightmare before Christmas shopping bag. I might go just after Halloween to see if any stuff gets discounted,

Now to snuggle, build Lego and doze.
shadowhive: (Claudio Tape gag)
After the last post things have been a bit... odd but I’ll get to that.

Monday night I finished off Deadwax. It felt a little... odd towards the end, because it wasn’t exactly clear what it was all about. It could have done with an extra 5 minutes or so in the last parts. The show was all about a record that, if listened to would kill the listener. There were three other discs (called keys) that would make it safe to listen to.... but the why just wasn’t really there.

Tuesday was just... I dunno. I dunno if it was depression or the constant stream of bad things happening in the world but I just... crashed. I ended up bringing perry the porg down with me and giving him lots of hugs (he’s huge and good for that).

There was a good piece of news Tuesday which was Hyrule Warriors is getting a new game! It’s out a month after my birthday and looks so good especially because it’s a BOTW prequel. So there’s gonna be more stuff with the champions, yay!

I also caved at got sims 4 from cd keys with the new Star Wars expansion, because Star Wars. I’ve been looking into the other expansions but ugh, so much. (It’s downloaded so I might start it tomorrow)

The night I decided to do comfort things. So after watching the ID stream I put the Xbox box on and gamed a bit. First was ESO and I did a daily quest in Imperial city (which I still hate). Other players trying to kill you just makes things too hard, but at least I got enough event tickets for a purchase. Then I went on kingdom hearts 3 which I’ve not been on since it came to game pass. As such i was figuring out the controls but since it was still the intro level that was ok. I didn’t spend too long on it though. I then went on Spiritfarer which is so adorable so far. It has a kitty! And a sassy deer! And a boat!

Lastly I watched Kronk’s new groove which I’ve only seen once and I remember why as I watched it. It’s just not as good as emperor’s new groove was which is a shame because the characters were so fun in that.

Today I felt a bit better which was good. I went to home bargains to get sawdust but... there wasn’t any alas. They had Halloween stuff and I got a scented candle (boo berry) which smells so nice. Alas they also lacked some of the other things I’d hoped to get after the last visit (chocolate, galaxy brownie mix, doritos, pear drops), bah.

And then after coming back there was the news about COVID and new measures coming Monday (including the ‘rule of six’ which sounds like something from a fantasy novel). It baffles me how in all the talk about it and new restrictions, there wasn’t any real concern about workplaces or schools or universities. (Oh yea you can only meet with 6 people socially but school and work are exempt! As if the virus magically avoids those places). I’m glad I’m with the open uni so I do stuff from home and don’t have to deal with people. (Being among one of the groups were infection rates are rising doesn’t put me at ease either.) Fuck I’m glad I don’t have to deal with people. If it wasn’t for Naryu I’d just hole myself indoors and not go anywhere.

Ugh

In better news next door has a puppy! A lil cockapoo called Milo and he is adorable. I hope we get to see him more because awww.

The Dune trailer looks interesting though I’m not sure I’d go to the cinema for it. I dunno anything about Dune but it has a Jason Momoa and Oscar Isaac so...

I’m gonna game now and maybe watch something later.
shadowhive: (Lego Porg Two porgs in a cloak)
The rest of Thursday turned out to be pretty blah. My tummy felt all funny and I think it was due to something I ate. (Specifically these vegan goujon things.) It meant I didn’t do too much Thursday night and Friday Morning ?I felt a bit funny too, though it did pass thankfully.

Friday was uneventful because I was taking it easy, though I did watch the monterey bay stream at night which was pretty fun.

I did check for the mask, but it was already gone.

Saturday I watched Black Panther after Brokenwood Mysteries. I still think Killmonger is pretty hot and he is, more than any other MCU villain, a villain that’s got a point. It’s definitely one of the best MCU films.

I gamed a little after that, though not for long. Pathfinder is very wordy, which is a problem cause I lost focus a bit. Instead I went on Shudder and started Deadwax which seems to be pretty intriguing so far (plus, yay a same sex couple!).

Sunday was, again, pretty lazy. I didn’t do to much. I watched the usual Sunday stuff, then went on ESO (taking advantage of the imperial city event to do the white gold tower, which is probably all I’ll do since imperial city is ugh). And then watched another part of Deadwax before getting tired.

So yeah last week was pretty faily in terms of reading or writing much like usual. Alas,

Today we took Naryu to the vet, just for her jabs. While waiting we saw some cute dogs, including a cage full of puppies! The vet checked her over and said she was doing great and she was a good girl. So that went well and we weren’t kept waiting too long. (Though I had to pop into sainsburys for things which I wasn’t gonna do)

When I got back I spent the day resting, but there was mail. I ordered season 1 Part 1 of Seraph Of The End from Zoom and it came today. It looked interesting and was on sale so... plus it’s a collectors edition with a fancy book. I might start it this week but we’ll see. (I dunno much about it but there’s vampires) Rest of the day was witchy school (and passing a test) and finishing homemade soup mum did yesterday.

I did also order some stuff from the Rock Sound sale, mostly some Set It Off issues. I enjoy Maxx’s twitch streamsm there’s something soothing about him (Cody though seems a little loud).

I wish we didn’t have such a stupid government. Already COVID cases are rising and they’re still pushing people to go back to work/school which has always seemed like a mistake. On top of that they’re gonna screw up the withdrawal agreement (which is really gonna show how trusted we can be as a trade partner isn’t it?) which again, mistake. Whatever happened to having an ‘oven ready’ deal ready to go? And didn’t someone once say that a no deal was a failure? (and wasn’t that someone Boris?) For fucks sake we deserve at least a half competent government that’s not corrupt as all fuck.

Ugh.

I’m gonna snuggle and watch The Librarians now since it’s on to season 3.
shadowhive: (Lego Porg Two porgs in a cloak)
It’s now September which means it’s the start of spooky season (because it’s 2020 and time is irrelevant). I’ve already watched on spooky thing, the film Grave Encounters on Shudder. (Alas it seems we’re not getting Color Out Of Space on the uk Shudder yet) It was actually better than I expected it would be, despite the characters being a bit unlikeable/forgettable. It Felt like a cross between Most Haunted and Outlast (what I’ve seen of it anyway). And of course, as these things do, it starts with stupid people going to stay in a haunted place (an asylum in this case) and then bad things ensuing. I always wonder, have people in horror films not actually seen a horror film? You’d not get me in a place like that.

Season’s changed in AC with pumpkins decorating the store but you can’t get them which, bah. Hurry up with the update damnit.

It turns out my replacement qwertee teenage got lost in the system so I have been sent a code for a free tee which is a little annoying. I was looking forward to getting a tee of Flick.

I also had annoyance with Xbox credit I’d ordered from game. It usually comes through right away but it hadn’t and still wasn’t there a day later. This was annoying as I got it for something from the sale (the sinking city) so decided to contact them and just order it myself with an hour left of the sale. Of course then the code came through minutes later which was annoying.

There’s gonna be the first same sex couple dancing on Strictly this year, with Nicola Adams being the celebrity. I really hope she does well because I do like her. And Bill Bailey was announced this morning so that should be fun.

There was an announcement for season 2 of the Mandalorian yesterday, with the date of the 30th of next month. Which is good but it didn’t cone with a trailer and also came within hours of John Boyega doing an interview that was critical of how Finn was handled. I have to agree with him, in the last film he was reduced to yelling Rey a lot and I think that took a lot from him. There was so much potential from TFA that just wasn’t followed up on and I just... I feel so bad for him.

When walking the pup yesterday I noticed a sign outside of a house saying ‘free’. At first it looked like it was just about a load of junk but I noticed a tribal mask that I’m just.. transfixed by. I couldn’t stop to get it at the time but I’m hoping to have another look, maybe later.

Before we took the dog out mum messed about with the bed upstairs while I mowed the lawn and... it turned out Midna had got in the drawers of the bed and mum had closed them without realising. So she was stuck in there for about 9 hours until I checked where she was and heard her sad meowing. Poor little kitty. She seems to be ok though, thankfully.

Last night I was gonna game but ended up watching the monterey bay abzu stream until I dozed off, oops.

Today I had to put money on the gas card and they had the new Disney cross stitch thing so I got two. I won’t get the whole part work but will try and get the second to finish it off,

This week has been a bit faily still in that I’ve neither read or wrote much. I might try and read something later when mums at the library. I want to at least write something for season of kink before it finishes but... we’ll see. I dunno why TUA hasn’t triggered my fic brain like it did last year. Maybe it’s just because of 2020, or that my creativity was low because of people being jerks. I dunno.

Thank Thor

The weather has still been unreasonably hot, but the past few nights have been stormy with thunder and lightning and everything.

Tuesday night was strange though. Leia, of course, was outside so after checking to make sure she wasn’t upstairs I went to try and get her in. Naryu, who’d followed mum to bed, came down with me rp the back door and barked to be let out (she doesn’t do that). She rushed outside and spent the next twenty plus minutes (while the Lightning was flashing) snuffling under the pine tree. I half expected to find a dead thing like the pheasant, but there was nothing there. Leia did show up while I was trying to get Naryu in and she ran away. (She didn’t come in at all so she must have hunkered down somewhere.) Naryu on the other hand kept coming down whenever I called for Leia before going to bed. Clearly she was worried for her, which was so sweet.

Thankfully Leia was in for the storm last night.

Because of all that I went to bed earlier on Tuesday (I was gonna watch something but trying to wrangle Naryu was just... time consuming and tiring).

I have started ESO and the hot vampire shows up pretty early which is good! I love him already. Unusually it’s part of the main quest, but the location also has a regular one and you’re actually encouraged to do both together (by dialogue and interactions). I don’t think there’s ever a place with two quests that actively encourages you like that. Hopefully they’ll continue that going forward.

There’s also a group called the Antequarians Circle, which gives me Magnus Archives vibes. They look for artifiacts, to uncover the truth of things and they also have a thing called the eye which chooses who joins. Which is just... spooky.

But I’m loving the expansion so far, I expect to do more later.

Also yesterday I did some Animal Crossing stuff. I had flick so I tried to do a trick with nook miles islands to get palm tree bugs but.., still didn’t get the ones I’m missing. I have got enough for models of the others though, which I guess is a plus. I did get to go to a treasure island someone has set up which was fun. I got some diys and a few items (and some bugs/fish/sea creatures for the museum). I hope to go again and get some diys and materials.

Last night was the last ep of the good doctor season 1 which was bittersweet. Shaun is just so sweet and so determined. Later I watched a film on Shudder, The Corridor but it was just a bit, blah. It took awhile to get going and it was unpleasant, but not in a good way. The characters were mostly unlikeable, though there was one cute guy (that was a jerk even before the weirdness happened).

Also last night was the reveal of Robert Sheehan on the cover of the new Attitude and I feel so attacked by this because, well, just look at him!

It’s cooler today which is good. I’m hoping my fic brain will start up again because I really wanna write (either one of my WIPs or something for season of kink or something). I do kinda wish I had the incentive to do bandom stuff sometimes, but it’s just not there (and it’s sad how quiet the discord is now). I’ll content myself by reading and not writing for it.

I might try and read some of my Padme book today but I can just see myself watching tv and dozing instead. (My focus for reading is still not there)

I’m gonna snuggle now, finish this taskmaster ep and keeping an eye out for mail.
