So it’s time for snowflake again already which seems strange because last year feels like not long ago (and also forever ago at the same time?). So happy new year snowflake people!

This post is now gonna be the new sticky post replacing the one from two years ago (why didn’t I replace it last year? Who knows!)

I’m Stuie, I’m 37 (which is very much what the fuck) and I live in the Uk. Currently I’m a student with the Open University, studying Renewable Energy which should be the last course of my degree (probably won’t be I don’t feel I’m doing well). I have anxiety and depression and probably other things, but we’ll see if I’m able to get better diagnosis and meds this year.

Anyway! Fandom things. I love Star Wars, The Legend Of Zelda and Doctor Who. The latter of which I post about whenever I watch episodes (be it new eps on tv or whenever I watch the collection boxsets, which are awesome).

I also game a lot, currently I’m working on Super Mario Wonder, Tears Of The Kingdom and I’ve recently started Jedi Survivor and Baldur’s Gate 3. Though I also play a bunch of other stuff too, Dead By Daylight, Dreamlight Valley, Elder Scrolls and a bunch of pad games (including Star Trek Timelines, Hello Kitty Island Adventure, Cats Are Cute and Pokémon Masters).

However one thing I’ve ended up getting into are watching streamers. I watch QSMP streamers from time to time but I also often watch James Marriott (and his drummer Jago), Seapeekay, Shoto and a bunch of other generally unhinged and pretty streamer guys. (And I need to do an updated posted on them for people)

I used to like bandom stuff, though because of the various fandoms being awful it left a sour taste. I still like a variety of bands, currently that’s a mix of James Marriott, Set It Off, Sleep Token, Weathers, Lovejoy and Waterparks among others. And Atreyu, which is a rabbit hole I’ve very much fell down.

In general I post random nonsense, but I also do posts about Doctor Who and other things I watch (who is the main one I get into detail on though I wanna do more posts on other things).

I post fic, mostly on here, which mostly rpf nsfw (usually with streamers or bands) though I really need to get back to posting on ao3. I’ve kept meaning to but I’ve generally failed.

I’m very sure that I’ve missed something, but who knows.

Feel free to add me if any of that seems interesting, one thing I like about snowflake is making new connections so I hope to make some again this year. I try and be nice and friendly with people as best I can.

Hope you’re all having a nice new year.

I end with two pictures of my cat, because cats are cute (and she’s curled on my snoring now

So usually when I do the happy stuff posts I put the happy stuff first and everything else second but this time I’m inverting it.

So since the last post we managed to watch Saw III, yay! It’s the last of the films that I could remember clearly so it’ll be interesting seeing the rest going forward since I can only remember the vague plot points.

A few thoughts under a cut.

Cut over now onto other things.

Mum is now itching to go outside somewhere, which is just a bit much because she still can’t take Naryu far on walks. We’re gonna go with mum’s friend to town next week (so at least she drives us there and back so we don’t have to worry about that) and then if that goes well mum wants to go to Birmingham. Again, I think it’s a bit much (it’s a walk to the station then around the city) so I don’t think she’ll be up to doing it as soon as she thinks. I guess we’ll see.

Yesterday was the new Fortnite season, which is a bit of a strange one. The build up to the end of the last one was to do with an eclipse, then the preview info indicated heists. The result is that the new season has a focus on heists…. Only who are you stealing from? A vampire which feels so wild. Also the pass is gonna have Ahsoka soon which is cool (here’s hoping they finally add some kinda Star Wars music).

I’d been going back and forth on getting sone things lately (including stuff from the forbidden planet graphic novel sale and gig tickets) but I’ve just been so incisive I’ve not ended up getting anything. The good side of that is that I had money in so I could get the build a bear Cinnamoroll plush cause he came back in stock yesterday! He just looks so cute!

I was gonna try and get a magazine that James Marriott was in, but I had various issues and missed out (there was on 50 physical copies which seems far too few) I considered getting just the poster they did of him,but then they’re saying they might do a restock of the magazine so 🤞

Last night there was the game night on Ria’s server and I’m glad I did it because it was pretty fun with a bunch of jackbox games! Even though my art skills was lacking and jackbox disconnected me one game bizarrely. I hope they’ll be able to do some more!

Then as watched the new Ghost Files which was pretty good. A highlight was thatRyan looked like this throughout the studio scenes, like why is aphis shirt open like that?👀👀 Alas thoughI did sone out a bit towards the end which was annoying, so I’ll have to watch the last few minutes.

Since I figured I’d have no focus for a game I put on Blau’s stream and then zoned out of that too, ending up drifting off on the sofa and waking up three hours later. I went to bed, hoping I’d just be able to sleep easily but alas no. Instead I watched Blau’s stream some more (which was fun, he had a pirate accent and flashed his nipple) and then I ended up ficcing until I finally drifted off.

Today’s been a bit of an odd day. My tummy felt unsettled (though thankfully only lasted until I came downstairs) and it’s just been all dark clouds and trying to rain on and off. I hope we get a storm later.

I dunno what my plans are the rest of the day. I wanna work on fic more and Imight see what Detective Cases is like on Drama, and then I might game some or disc switch to Resident Evil. (Or just watch a Bobs Burgers like I’ve done the last few nights).

I do wanna get back to doing song Saturdays again,so I might start that again next week if I have good songs. (And also I wanna do an updated ‘so you wanna write me a fic post’ too.)

So I mentioned at the title of this that it could be 6.5. If anyone remembers post 6, it was boys in maid dresses. I found out yesterday that Rubius did a maid dress stream dressed as Link and I saw pics and they broke my brain so I’m posting them here (I just know I’ll fic him in it)

So it’s been awhile since I’ve done one of these, despite having a few in mind. However, like with so many things, I keep getting distracted or losing the thread. However this one is easier and more timely.

I don’t often go on Facebook but I did a few days ago and I’m glad I did, because it shown a memory from six years ago, the memory of a certain cute fuzzy creature.

Because six years ago is when we got Leia. (Fuzzy pictures ahoy)

Other things.

I’m feeling better physically, so whatever it was is gone. The loose tooth didn’t came out and it seems to be stable now, wiphich I didn’t even know was thing.

I’d have gone to see the Haunted Mansion if I hadn’t been recovering, because the local cinema was showing it. Oddly after just one week it’s gone from two showings to one…. And of course that one is a later one. Maybe they’ll add an additional showing next week (I’m still surprised they have Elemental showing).

I managed to watch both Pokémon series streams which were pretty fun, though it was sold that Team Rocket were hardly in them. The last eps of the second stream was full of nostalgia, with a trip back to aka to and seeing Brock, Misty, Psyduck and Bulbasaur! And they even got the singing jigglypuff too! Damn the nostalgia was strong.

My head’s been kinda been fuzzy the past few days which is annoying. It’s a feeling I can’t quite explain but wish I could. I know it’s depression related but…. Eh,

I did finish Little Hope over the past few nights though and I have mixed feelings about it. Yes it’s atmospheric and spooky throughout, but the flashbacks are bleak and then the ending just makes you wonder exactly what happened. (Though I did have a feeling there was some twist ending, I just didn’t think it would be that).
Also it’s dark, but the darkness seems to be easier to navigate than Man Of Medan was at least.

Next time is House Of Ashes though I don’t think I’ll do it for a week or two. I do wanna do Stray first, though I think I might do something else first. (I might do a level on Hi-Fi Rush because it’s bright and colourful, or try Immortality before it leaves game pass at the end of the month)

Tonight I might watch Babylon 5 The Road Home, but that depends how hazy my head is.

This coming week has a bunch of stuff happening. I wanna watch Saw III (I didn’t this week), there’s new Futurama, the food delivery, Gamescom and Ahsoka starting! Plus there’s games night on Friday before Dungeons and Dodongos Sunday. I hope my brain doesn’t get overwhelmed by everything,

(Is it possible to be whelmed? You can get overwhelmed and underwhelmed so surely there must be whelmed? Hmmm)

Anyway, I’m gonna watch todays Sherlock film, then maybe work on fic later but more likely get distracted by something.
shadowhive: (Awsten Rainbow boy)

Today’s entry for the June posts is a short impromptu one (well there could be another one earlier) but it has pretty boys in dresses sooo!

So a few days ago Awsten posted this pic on twitter.

So I thought ‘yay, maybe we’re finally getting the rest of the pics from the wedding dress shoot’ (those will be under the cut) because those pics turned over almost three months ago and there’s been no context. I thought they were for a photoshoot or video but there’s even nothing since.

Anyway! It turns out that no, these aren’t pics from the shoot because it turns out they went onstage in them and not only that but it seems these are different dresses than the original shoot so I’m even more ????

Anyway, further pics under the cut.

Other things (briefly):
*Got to level 200 on Fortnite just in time to finish the season woo!
*Did more Zelda, still not advanced in the story but found a tear with Ganondorf being kinda… (and stumbled on things I just noped out of)
*Mel is coming back in Doctor Who which…. feels like an odd choice (of the surviving Who companions that haven’t been in it properly shes… not the first I’d pick)
*Listened to Spirit Box Radio and got to the mid season finale last night and WHAT
*Gonna decide about the GL hoodie today (I meant to yesterday but got hazy)
*Summer Game Fest is tonight so maybe a post later if there’s enough good/interesting things
*I’m sure there’s another thing but I’ve instantly forgot because pretties

Banner from [personal profile] dreamersdare who came up with this.

So most of the posts I’m gonna do for this will be more focussed (especially the Generation Loss one you’re gonna get subjected to!) but this one is gonna be a bit more scattered because it’s about yesterday’s Birmingham trip.

I ended up leaving pretty early which was a tad annoying (though I was able to finish the Fall Guy’s event since I was awake early enough to try). Because of the strikes happening this week I was worried the trains might end up messed up, however the first one did turn up. I didn’t do too much on the journey (I took two magazines to read but read neither Oop)

Since the first train had came I had an hour to wander round Birmingham. That was spent heading to the Bullring, which is a shopping center here connected to the station. I’d hoped to get the night sushi cat plush I saw before the Lovejoy gig but alas it wasn’t there, I’ll have to eBay it (hmv did have it though but it was 25% more which… nope)

In HMV they were playing a song that I couldn’t place and it bugged me but in up the end I did! It was Bury The Light, which was a Song Saturday here. I only had a brief look around but I got two things I wanted to get, namely the new Sleep Token and the new Now That’s What They Call Eurovision Contest. The latter is especially good because it’s four discs withvarious songs over the years which is much like one of the Eurovision playlists I have. (Here is the track list)

Since there’s something about the duality of these things I took a pic

I then went in The Entertainer and I wasn’t gonna get anything but I got a Mirror Sulu funko (it was on offer though I almost didn’t) and at the till the Lego Mario blind boxes were reduced so I got one of those too. I opened it later and it’s actually the most boring one (boom boom) which is a shame. I should’ve got another because they’re still on offer (I still want the birdo and blooper ones). The blind boxes (formerly bags) are honestly the best Lego Mario things in the range, because most of the sets are boring or bland (bar the pirate ship which looks so cool) but the individual characters are well done.

Then I met up with my friend Vin and we got her caffeinated and chatter, before heading to somewhere to eat. We went to Zizzi’s at her suggestion but it was a bit of a way out (and I got a bit turned around because there’s been recent construction which threw me off) but it was nice! The pizza was big and nice and the chilli bread was nice too (though made me wish the drink was bigger) after more chatting (about things from gigs, the craziness of getting tickets and other personal things) we headed back to the station and parted ways.

(I feel I should get a sticker for not mentioning gen loss in a conversation)

I decided to wander around birmingham, though it was annoying because it had suddenly got warmer. I got some dog treats and a drink (blue raspberrie which is so nice) and headed to Forbidden Planet. I was mostly going there to see if theDead By Daylight comic had come in, but alas it was delayed. I wasn’t gonna get anything but I saw there were signed Star Wars books and, after debating, I got them and a Doctor Who graphic novel, as well as a unicorn funko (from Shazam which I’ve not seen but I love unicorns.

Here’s the stuff from there. The Star Wras Hunters book is one I didn’t even know was a thing because the game isn’t out yet (as far as I know but it does look fun).

After wandering around a bit more, but getting nothing else (though it was nice to see so many pride flags around already). I went back to the station. Annoyingly the first train just sailed right past so I was delayed but at least it wasn’t that bad.

I decided to read some of The Quest For Planet X on the way back and read two chapters. I’m so behind on high republic stuff which is a shame (especially as I have a book pile of them to read) but this is from phase 2 which is in another time period so I don’t feel quite as lost. It also helped that there was mention of something happening on Jedha (the planet from Rogue One which is apparent a big deal in these books) but as the main Jedi character doesn’t know what’s going on it’s good. I wanna get back to read more soon to find out more about what’s going on (and read the graphic novel I got last npmonth which has a hot Nautolan).

When I got home there was mail but just issues of the Star Wras encyclopaedia (I’ve considered unsubscribing but I’m close to the end) but also the Dork Lovejoy issue, which I’ll have to look at properly soon.

***

I was unfocused and tired after the trip (and a bit headachey which may be because of the heat, tiredness or glasses) so I didn’t do too much. I watched Voyager (which was the Omega Directive, one of the eps I really like) zoned out during Springwatch then watched the Taskmaster finale (the new group seem like they could be fun) before heading to bed (after dealing with mum being ridiculous)

Today I woke with a bad annoying headache which ugh. And it’s still been so warm still bleh. I have got my new glasses at last though so I hope that the worst of the headaches are now over.

Now I’m gonna rest a bit, do more fortnite then reply to various things.

So in my earlier post I mentioned something that mum said yesterday that rattled me so here it is (under the cut cause anxiety)

Other things, a brief list cause I’m a bit tired.

*A package was delivered… but not here. I think it’s at the other house nearby with the same number, but none was in when I went to check a few minutes ago
*Wilbur did his lore stream reading last night, which ended in a homoerotic fist fight. And it was so… (And then Quackity asking where’s the part where our characters make out)
*Ranboo did a stream back last night and ahh! It was only short though but it fit in right
*I finished Archive 81 last night. I was right about some theories, but it’s left open enough for a follow up. I wonder how different the podcast is.
*I missed a Dream stream but ahh the Dream Team are gonna share a house with plans for 5 years and then going from there which is so…
*I started the uni assessment this morning and my head is just so… fuzzy. Ugh. I emailed the tutor for an extension which I think I might need, but we’ll see.
*Theres an ESO stream tonight about this years dlc, I hope Naryu appears
*Pokemon Legends is out tomorrow, I’m still not sure who I’m gonna choose for a starter, but serebii is putting up info
*I’m gonna recharge a bit, then hopefully fic some

So today I had to go to town to sort stuff for mums friend and pick up stuff from Iceland, but when I came back them was a little kitty outside. They didn’t have a collar on and seemed friendly so I gave them pets but they were so smol.

So after dropping the stuff inside mum agreed we should bring them in and they were absolutely starving! I’m not sure if they were abandoned or escaped or what, but they’re so sweet.

Of course Naryu is fascinated but after eating they don’t seem too scared. Mum things Naryu might have seen them in the bushes when we were taking them out.

Anyway here they are

Edit after about an hourish: so after some noms and a little snooze, they zoomed out when the back door was opened for Leia. I hope they’ll be ok.

So yesterday ended up being both productive and tiring.

I watched four films: Nightmare Before Christmas, Hocus Pocus, The Ring and Trick R Treat. The former two were on Disney+ while the latter two were on film4 and dvd respectively.

In the end I didn’t sort out my pumpkin, so that’s still sitting in the kitchen intact. But I did end up doing a skeleton biscuit kit I’d got when I last went to town. (And yeah I listened to Skeleton while making them.)

After Hocus Pocus there was the first episode of the new Doctor Who series, entitled Chapter 1: The Halloween Apocalypse. Thoughts under another cut.

After that there was the other two films, though i watched Sapnap's stream in between. the pics of him and Dream are so cute, especially the ones with patches

There was the Badflower livestream last night and, ugh it was so late. The stream went live at 2:30 and the gig started closer to 3, lasting till around 4. It was a pretty good show, though you could tell it was smaller scale than some of the other ones I’ve seen. (And I wished I’d heard their earlier stuff some more). Before it started I mused that, because it was Halloween they should dress up as Emoflower from the Don’t Hate Me video and you know what? They did! Well at least Josh and Antony, Alex didn’t stay still enough to get a good look at (which was pretty cute) and Joey was mostly a curtain of curls whenever the camera went to him.

Alas Josh lost the emo wig and his vest went he went into the crowd so the second half of the gig he was shirtless, which is always good. It made me wanna hug him though, listening to the lyrics and just. 🥺

Because it was so late though I’ve been so tired and a bit headaches today which is a bit… ugh. I’m hoping tonight will be an earlier night though.

Set It Off said there’d be something today and that seems to be us tour dates over a new song alas. I still need to get my ticket to the Birmingham date.

I did have a lil doze early too, and when I woke up there was a trailer for the new Boba Fett series and it looks like it’s gonna be cool so far. I’m glad that Fennec seems like she’s gonna be the joint main character.

I’m gonna have a snug now before noms in a bit.
shadowhive: (Jet Eyepatch)
The Lego Mandalorian starfighter arrived yesterday, so I spent the morning building it (more on that later). I ended up watching the last of the Who ray special features, which was the Sylvester McCoy interview and it was pretty interesting. I had no idea his name was a stage name, or that Peter Jackson has one of his outfits.

I found out Buzzcocks was on the talk talk player so decided to watch it and it was pretty funny. The opening was amusing (if a tad long) but Noel was fun to see again on it and Daisy made a pretty good team captain. And Yungblud was cute in the second one, though his voice so doesn’t match.

The afternoon I ended up heading up for a bit cause it was chilly (and there was some rain) so I bundled up, read a fic someone did for me (which again, sweet to do, not sweet in content) and then read the evil of the daleks booklet thing.

I watched the next Fringe out of Bake Off and I really am enjoying it. It makes me gasp in ways that I don’t think anything has for awhile.

Maxx did a stream and looked pretty even in black and white. I was gonna game some but got so tired which was annoying.

Today it’s been a bit wet, but I had some stuff come, including the thing from Amazon which is right now yay!

I’m curious cause there’s been a new travelling Doctor Who exhibit announced but there’s no locations or dates yet. Hopefully there’ll be a Birmingham one.

I might try and write some soon though i’m not sure what yet. I’m gonna read some of the Bone Gate once I’ve done this post and then ???

I’ve not done a pic post in awhile so figured this would be an appropriate time to do one. (Including furfaces!)

The weather has finally cooled down, which is good for the weekend. Today is even rained, which is even better. I’ve missed the sound of the rain.

However my head has been bitchy, which hasn’t been great. I hate it so many for that. It’s the stuff I mentioned in the locked post only parts are magnified.

The Magic The Gathering DND cards arrived Saturday and I opened them Saturday and Sunday. The first pack was definitely one of the best since it had a planeswalker and a token card of boo, as well as a unicorn! Others had alternate art cards, as well as some of the legendary creatures. I had hope for a gelatinous cube, but I didn’t get one (I found out from the site that they’re rare which is probably why).

We watched Jurassic World on Saturday, completing the run of the JP films I have (which i blame wanting to watch fully causa Lego Jurassic world, which I finished the story mode). The park in the film does look great, though you have to question how anyone was ok approving the Indominus in the first place.

I did some Selda yesterday. And I really should do more. I got to Eldin and did a bit of the first section. I’ve held off doing too much while I wait for the replacement dock, which will hopefully improve the motion controls which I can’t seem to get right with the switch screen. (Natewantstobattle has an awesome Zelda album that i stumbled on Sunday)

Today they announced a minor Animal Crossing update, which only seems to be adding a few new items (boo) though theres a promise of more. also tomorrow Pokemon Unite is getting a new pokemon already. im still enjoying it and need to do more to level up.

I've watched a bit of the Olympics but most is getting from twitter. Yay for Tom Daley getting a gold, as well as that swimmer today. and yay for Bermuda getting its first gold ever.

New Magnum PI is starting next week and I’m eager to see it again (and hope Magnum gets topless and/or wet again)

Today there was the food delivery (still no cat litter) though also there was a lego delivery. One is a set being put up for later in rhe year but one is for passing my course. Pics under the cute

So this week Palaye came out with two new videos, so I figured they’d be good for song Saturday so here are Punching Bag and No Love In LA

Now usually before I do a song Saturday post I rewatch the videos for a refresher but since I watched them recently I didn’t. Both are quite manic in different ways. For some reason there’s plague doctors on stage in punching bag tying up Rem and the second has a mime? I dunno why either.

But Rem looks hot and slutty, which is always a good thing.

…I guess I should say more about the videos but my mind is blank. But they all look so good and I should fic them again,

****

I didn’t do as much as I wanted to last night. I was gonna try and watch a film or finish the Who special features but watched ESO live instead, oops. I did get the Dead by daylight dlcs I mentioned, using the credit I had on the Xbox to cover most of them, I’m gonna try the two killers soon, hopefully I’ll be better at them then the others.

I read one of the Doctor Who graphic novels that came yesterday, Gaze Of The Medusa. As you can tell from the name… it has a Medusa in it and some nice Greek references (though why the one guy didn’t realise there was a Medusa until he saw one I dunno). But it was, pretty good.

Today I had a delivery.

I found out the local cinema is open again (and has been for a week) and it’s showing Black Widow so I’m pondering going, but I’m not sure.

Does anyone have any Squash recipes? We have some that we’ve not used in the fridge, oops.

I’m gonna watch John Wick 3 tonight, despite not seeing 2 and hopefully will watch Fear Street later. And I’m gonna try and write since my Sanctuary app tarot card said I should do something creative though I’m not sure what,

So the new sunshine challenge is up but I’m gonna have a think on it. The only thing that comes to mind is Dawnguard and Sumshine and the latter I’ve not watched in ages.

First after the post I did on Saturday we ended up walking the pup and, on the way back there was a crazy amount of little frogs hopping over the path (which may be lil toads). By crazy ai mean there had to be 20+ and it made walking along the path an obstacle course. I shooed some towards the grass so they’d not get stepped so but I also got a few home to the safety of our garden.

So here’s some pics of the lil guys!

We watched Murder On The Blackpool Express which was fun. The sequels are playing for the next few Saturdays which I’m looking forward to because I’ve not seen them. Then we watched Jurassic Park 2 but we shared a cider so I lost focus and then got so tired.

I don’t care about sportsball, but we won the match Saturday so, yay? I guess we should prepare to hear 3 Lions everywhere until the next match at least.

Yesterday was nice cause I had veggie sushi but other than that it was a pretty lazy day. A storm hit and there was lots of rain which we really needed.

I was very puzzled though because yesterday I made a tweet and it went crazy with 128 rt’s and 288 likes, which is insane. It was just a comment on how the government have badly handled the pandemic (cause there was a hashtag trending) if a gif from shrek (‘some of you may die but that’s a sacrifice I’m willing to make’) and I guess a lot of people felt the same.

Also on twitter there was a giveaway with lots of Xbox games and I own one on twitter and one on discord. The discord one was smart moves which I can’t say I was too keen on when I tried it and the other was Killer Queen Black (it seems they had a lot of codes for that). It’s amusing cause I did the tutorial and there’s three ways to win a match: military, economic…. And snail. Which is just so funny to me.

I meant to watch a spooky film Saturday night but because I was so tired I didn’t. So instead I watched on last night. I’d seen people mentioning Fear Street 1994 so decided to check it out. It’s amusing because the tweets I saw were Supernatural people saying that the main could were like a fem!Wincest and I can see why, especially cause they names are Deena and Sam. (And their personalities are similar)

And yeah, the main couple in this horror film are wlw which is awesome! I’ve often said there need to be more queer people in horror and this was done so well. And the relationship wasn’t treated as any differently than a straight one would be in a similar film. There was no judgement because it was a same sex couple from any of the main characters which was great.

I thought it was a great film, and I’m curious to see how things pan out over the next few weeks (because it’s part of a trilogy). I have my theories on what’s going on (and certainly the cop knows more than he’s letting on) so we’ll see!

I’m gonna snug now and try to do some reading of Into The Dark.

The weather is too hot lately, I feel so drained from it .

Last night was odd because my back started aching and usually it’s because I’ve done something (moved something heavy, had to go pick up sawdust or pet food) but there was no reason for it and it was so… annoying.

I feel a strange sort of energy today, part manic, part bleh, part…. i dunno. Watching two random YouTube vids probably helped with the manic part.

The Elder Scrolls update is downloading so I’m looking forward to starting that tonight.

Last night was the DS9 finale which was fully of feels (Odo’s farewell hit harder than I expected, perhaps since Rene’s gone). Oddly though it cut out at least one scene, the last one with Garak and Bashir so I watched it on Netflix and… it shouldn’t have been cut it’s an important scene. They’re gonna start enterprise from the start in its slot (and oddly restart DS9 too) so I’ll likely watch that.

I took my pad when we walked the pup, so of course the babies weren’t on the bank. (Cause people were messing around) but I got pics of them swimming so…

The past week has been strange, it’s felt like one of those weeks that has gone by in no time at all. Maybe it has.

In general this week I’ve not had much luck with uni stuff. We have to use a model thing and I soon realised that I didn’t trust the pad to do it. As such I intended to use the laptop to do it but.. haven’t actually opened it up. Ugh.

Monday I went to pick up meds and I went into Tk Maxx for the first time in months. There wasn’t much exciting there and some sections have been moved around which seems puzzling. I did get some pet advent calendars and Naryu seemed to like the stuff in hers (the kitties didn’t seem bothered really).

In Search of Monsters was about the chupacabra, and I didn’t realise there was two kinds. I only thought there was a lizardy kind but that’s apparently just on Puerto Rico and on the mainland it looks more dog like, strange.

Tuesday the food shop came, but I also decided to pop into home bargains before hand cause the cats needed their dry food from there. There wasn’t much too exciting there, though I do wish I’d picked up something I’d seen and will next time I go back.

I finished the first season of the Penumbra podcast and, damn, I just wanted to slap Juno at the end of it because what an idiot. Leaving Peter without even a note? What an ass.

Wednesday I actually read some Light Of The Jedi, which I keep meaning to do every weekday afternoon. (Another thing I keep meaning to do is watch Falcon and the winter soldier, I’m still a few eps behind). Before that though we watched The X-Files and were at season 2 now with those eps being Scully’s abduction and return (and the weird vampire ep in between). It’s still strange seeing Krycek all... straight laced and respectable (I’m still sore he died later in the series).

Thursday when we walked the pup we saw that there were babies on the pools! There’s some little coots and some ducklings. I didn’t have the pad with me to take pics alas, but did get some today!

In the night I decided to check out Stowaway which came out on Netflix yesterday because it space (and yeah I have many things to watch, including Space Sweepers but eh). It was pretty good in some ways, a bit lacking in others. The titular stowaway was one of the things I had issue with, because he was there seemingly by accident. You mean to say that a space agency would seriously not do a headcount of their techs that worked on their rocket? And then the ending was just... unsatisfying and felt a but sudden.

(Speaking of space, Intergalactic is coming to Sky 1 next week and it looks interesting. The description gives me Farscape vibes so I’m very curious.)

I planted some seeds I got months ago and one lot of them have grown! The type of grass shoes no signs of growth yet but the cosmos have sprouted and grown quite a bit this week. We need to plant some other seeds soon too.

Today mum’s friend came so I spent longer upstairs to avoid he loudness. When she was gone we went to walk the pup, though on the way back mum’s cardigan, which she’d stool off, had got dropped and we’d not realised until we got home. That meant when I had to backtrack to try and find it, which I managed to but I was tired by the time I got back home.

Anyone onto what you’re really here for: baby animals!

Building

So yesterday my package came, but not till about 4:15 but yay it’s finally here! Which brings me to the next thing for the love meme.

I’ve had Lego for as long as I can remember, though it was mostly fairly small things. I remember having a bit of castle, some spaceships, an island and a fort but every other early set is kinda vague. I do remember always wanting a train though, but never got one (until I got the Hogwarts train for Christmas 2019 which is cool even if it doesn’t have a track).

Then in 1999 my focus changed, because they started doing Lego sets. I remember getting a few of the early ones (the Naboo swamp and speeder bike sets at least) and from then on it’s been my primary focus Lego wise. I tend to get one of the big sets at Christmas (including the Falcon, BB-8 and a Porg).

Although I’ve mostly got Star Wars Lego I have had some others. I’ve had a few marvel ones (notably some of the guardians sets and the two small infinity war ones) and recently a few Potter ones. I’ve also. Had a few of the new Mario ones but not many (I think they’re a bit overpriced for what they are).

I find building Lego to be well, therapeutic. It takes my mind off things and gives me something else to focus on. Plus I just love building.

Anyway, yesterday I got the Razor Crest, which was the Mandalorian’s ship. It was meant to be a Christmas thing, but got delayed due to stock issues. The set comes with five figures: The Mandalorian, the child, a scout trooper, IG-11 and Greef Karga. It took a fair few hours to build, mostly last night but I finished it off with the cockpit and engines this afternoon.

Pics are under the cut.

Last night after Lego building I just watched tv and then gaming. Unforgiveable on Dave was funny, though I feel sorry for Alex’s stepdad which always seemed involved in his stories. I did more Tales Of Vesparia and left the opening town, though the overworld seems a bit... I dunno.

I went to bed but, again, couldn’t seem to settle. At least this time was partly due to Leia being on me and purring keeping me up. I did manage to sleep though. This morning I, again, did nothing for the uni assessment but I did do some of the weeks reading so...

Also the new Doctor Who magazine has come but I’ve not really looked at it yet.

Dunno what the plan is tonight, it might be much the same as last night but with a different game.

Challenge #13

In your own space, tell us about 3 fandom resources you use or enjoy. (One or two is fine, especially if you're in a smaller fandom!) Leave a comment in this post saying you did it. Include a link to your post if you feel comfortable doing so.

TV tropes - I often look at this site, sometimes randomly but sometimes as I watch things (I currently have ones open for DS9 and Lower Decks and open pages when I watch Who)

AO3 where fic goes to live

Lastly are the various wikis like Wookieepedia, Memory Alpha And the Tardis data core (For Star Wars, Star Trek and Doctor Who respectively). These are useful when watching stuff or even if you are reading a book and thinking ‘where have I heard that thing before?’ Theres wikis for pretty much everything that there is.

The weekend has been pretty quiet and lazy which is good, especially since the end of the week was a bit bleh. (Depression sure is annoying)

On Saturday night I watched The Endless on film 4 which was pretty good. The eldritch abomination was unique in that it was made of smoke and fire rather than anything else. And it’s pretty impressive what they did with quite a small budget.

There was snow which meant we didn’t go anywhere, though Naryu loved running about in the snow outside.

I did finally start Lower Decks last night and it’s funny and fun. I only watched the first two but the references are awesome! I also watched Wandavision which makes me think, again, what is going on.

This morning I did some uni reading cause Naryu was laying on me so I couldn’t grab the laptop, hopefully I can do something tomorrow.

Finally here’s some pics.

WellI wasn’t gonna make a post today but here one is and alll get into the main reasoning why soon.

Last night I ended up doing some more of Ikenfell. I do enjoy it, but uh, the bosses are so annoying. There’s often two stages and I tend to die on the second which means restarting the whole thing. I swear I used most of my items on the last one, including the bombs which are hard to get. But ah well, I did beat chuckles, the cauldron.

(Cause for those that don’t know Ikenfell is set at a school for magic where something has gone wrong. It has plus points for having at least one confirmed LGBT character so far)

I ended up watching a film on horror channel last night, Inanimate, which is about a fishing ship finding something in the ice. Of course, being a horror film that something (a Russian satellite) contains a monster that, when thawed out, goes on to terrorise the crew. It’s was ok, a tad predictable in places and the monster itself was very... strange. Although there were more questions towards the end.

Ah well. I ended up dozing after that and then went to bed which was a tad restless.

This morning I did Uni stuff finishing the weeks stuff and, ugh, next week is marked as an assessment week. I think there’s meant to be a group work thing which I’ll look into tomorrow cause I just haven’t been motivated to check (Plus with the net being screwy and the whole password issue last month).

Because of the heavy rain last night we only walked Naryu around the village for safety (cause mum’s instead on her feet at times so I try and avoid mud/ice with her when possible). I’m gonna head out soon to check if my meds are ready.

When we got back I did a squee because there’s a trailer for the new Pokemon snap and a release date! It’s coming out the end of April and I’m so excite for it. A sequel to Pokemon snap is something people have wanted for ages and to see it. It looks so pretty and I can’t wait to take pics.

And then, just after I finished noms, the post van turned up outside with a few things. One is the new Doctor Who magazine yearbook which I might look at soon. (So I may end up reading some of that as opposed to reading some more From A Certain Point Of View. Or some of both) but there was also something else.....

Sweet rain

I’m so glad that I woke this morning and heard the sweet sound of rain. I’ve been so sick of this draining heat this past week. Sure it’s not yet the storm that was forecast but... maybe that will come later.

The past few days have been largely uneventful. The heat has been draining so I’ve slept more and I started the good place season 4 which I was hoping to finish this weekend but didn’t watch any last night. I ended up watching a stream that Maxx from set it off was doing cause it was spooky but dozed during five nights at Freddie’s.

As mentioned in a prior post I’ve watched Roswell New Mexico this week cause it started on ITV2 and I was curious. I remember watching Roswell when I was younger but know I never saw it all so I was curious when I heard it was being redone. It’s actually quite different from the original which is good, though it seems that the mysteries are being solved fairly quickly (its 5 episodes in of 13 and already some main things have been revealed). Still I’m enjoying it and love that there’s a gay couple in it now.

There was an animal crossing update announced the other day, which goes live next week. I thought there’d be one soon and this one includes swimming/diving, undersea creatures and mermaid furniture which I always loved. Once this post is done I’m gonna go on and do the bug off.

I’d hoped to read more this week and and I managed a few chapters of my book but ugh the heat drained me so much. I really want to finish black Spire so I can move onto other things like my growing book pile of doom (Now with the second alphabet squadron book even though I haven’t read the first). Next I think will be the night vale book then Resistance reborn.

I need to look into my next uni course next week and start my Umbrella Academy rewatch. Plus I need to Xbox game some more too. I’ve failed at that due to being so drained boo.

This weekend the plan is to watch Frozen (cause Frozen 2 is coming to Disney+ next week) and Spiderman Far From Home.

So yesterday I uploaded pics and started making a version of this post cause I’d not made a photo post in awhile but alas it messed up and got deleted so here’s attempt number two.

Nature and cute animals ahoy.
