So it’s monthly round up time! How has another month gone already?

Looking at this I actually managed to do more than I thought I did. Like I’ve done something for pretty much everything which is good and some things that I didn’t do are mostly due to stress high is annoying. (And being too lazy to disc switch until I’ve finished the doctor who special features, which I’ve not finished cause stress and tiredness).

I think I’ve mentioned most of the things here at various points so I won’t go over them.

But damn I’m still thinking of that thing from the Wendigoon vid. A 9ft shark had a tracking device on it and they found it washed up on shore. When they looked at the info on it something had dragged the shark suddenly into the depths. And honestly? That’s one of the most terrifying things I’ve ever heard.

I would cover the thing I did with things I wanted to do last month but again, cause of stress I don’t think I can. I’m more annoyed that I wasn’t able to fic anything. Like I had things virtually ready to go and my focus has just been so fucked. Hopefully this month I can get some of the many WIPs and such out. Maybe.

I dunno if I’ll do a similar thing for this month but if it is it won’t be till next week.

***

The rest of the post is mostly quick fire things cause I feel drained (due to the dumb heat making me drained).

I watched Andor and damn, the costume designers really have popped off this season and I hope that they get all the awards. (Also it’s tragically amusing they’ve made Ghorman basically space France and that ending of episode 6 is so… part was cathartic, part was immensely disappointing.)

Last night I finally saw Nope cause it was on tv. Spoilers thoughts under the cut.

Today’s been a low energy day but! When we walked Naryu we saw the first ducklings of the season! In fact, bar some tiny tadpoles, it’s the first of any baby animal. There were 8 of them total and they were so cute and fluffy!

Of course I’d not took my pad or anything cause I didn’t think we’d see anything, so I’ll take it Sunday to try and get pics.

The rest of the day was spent finishing Andor (with the aforementioned ep 6), then the new Star Wars fortnite (Poe looks so cool and has two outfits!) and a Lego set I ordered on sale arrived (an acclamator class Star Destroyer) and now there’s Taskmaster.

Tomorrow’s a busy day but expect pics of cute animals on 8nsta at some point when I’m back!

Slightly belated, causa the stress and illness of last week, but here is the monthly round up for last month.

Again most of these things have been mentioned as I watched/read/listened to/played them. Overall I’d recommend most of these things. (I am a bit annoyed that aforementioned sickness meant I couldn’t read the comic/graphic novel I meant to)

However one thing I’ll mention is Into The Tardis - Destination Wars since I didn’t at the time. This is a first Doctor story which I think is why I’d put it off. It uses the cast from Adventures In Space And Time (the dramatisation they did of the making of the show) which is a pretty good idea (though I’m not a fan of Susan’s voice). However the main issue is that this is a master episode, which is a questionable prospect at the best of times.

The plot is something I can see him doing, manipulating people so they develop faster so he can fix his ship and it does feel decent mostly. However having this one as an episode on the podcast, especially the first first Doctor one, feels like a bizarre choice. Especially because, as it turns out, the guy that voices this master is such an awful transphobe they refuse to work with him again.

The next one is, instead of another doctor the following episode and I’m just not keen on going straight to another first doctor one so who knows how long I’ll put that off.

Anyway I’m gonna flop now and hopefully next month’s one of this won’t be so delayed.

A few days late on posting this but…

First let’s start with the things I did which is something for most things this time! Most things I’ve made individual posts about such as Ghostbusters - Frozen Empire (which I really enjoyed),:ABC Murders (a pretty good read), High Potential (really great and fun), Horros Greatest (which made me wanna watch more j-horro) and Stranger Things (which I have had MANY thoughts over).

Things I’ve not mentioned, or mentioned as much is Selene’s second story arc The Doll Hospital which… I dunno it didn’t really click with me. Maybe it was the content of the piece but I think it was more the doll part wasn’t really used all that well despite being in the title? Likewise The Rig season 2 didn’t feel as good as the first one. Like it started strong but it ended up with a bigger focus on corporate politicking.

Then there’s the audio I listened to Tropical Beach a sounds And Other Relaxing Seascapes #4 which ended up being so great. It was about a self help tape which was possessed so you had the voice of Micheal Palin being all sinister throughout. And damn there were some killer lines, like how did he make ‘you will get your biscuits’ sound so sinister? As well as talk about sexual assignations and Ianto having ‘nothing to be ashamed off’. Such a wild time.

Also with reading I did start two other books, Flight Of Icarus and The Thirteen Problems and the later I’ve continued to work on already this month and the former I might soon too.

Alas sickness and stress ruined my focus for this month so there’s not been a fic posted. There were a few times I got inspired and did write, but then the following day or days killed inspiration which really sucks. I hope to get back to writing when my head eases but ugh.

I did hope to read a graphic novel too before the month ended but couldn’t find the focus.

I had hoped to see something at the cinema but between a lack of energy, money and bad timing I just didn’t.

***

Second part of the post is about the new Doctor Who trailer which released Sunday night.

The new season (it still feels so wrong calling it season 2) looked good from the teaser at christmas but this one makes it look even better. I mean there’s so much in the trailer that I’m really curious about and Belinda is giving me Tegan energy with her demanding to be taken home.

The four main things I’m curious about:
*That Giant skeleton of… something, I wanna know what its deal is
*The episode with Mr Ring-a-Ding (the animated character that comes out of the screen) which looks really good
*The creepy thing that Ruby (I’m assuming it’s her) says ‘wants you scared’ because it ‘likes the taste’
*The Interstellar Song Contest, because how could I not love that as a concept?

Also Who related but the Doctor Who season 7 boxset arrived Monday, yipee! Though as mentioned before it’s timing is terrible because as much as I really want to watch this month is the worst for watching stuff causa the Tubbathon. Hopefully I can work in at least starting it sometime but who knows when.

Speaking of the Tubbathon it’s been really great so far. No Dice is a highlight, though the end of the first session definitely caused Owen have to change things (damnit Sloevi😭) and Twitch Master on Monday night was so fun (Freddie was so horny for Tubbo and his painting was so unhinged) so I’m curious how the rest ones. The next main event is tomorrow with Watch Box which is billed as being like big brother and has Seapeekay and Piso so will be… something.

Yesterday was a library day cause and I ended up reading some of my Who magazines and the second of The Thirteen Problems (which I really liked and figured out just before Marple said the solution). And ahh we got a visit from puppies which were so cute!

Now I’m gonna flop and maybe do some more reading (either The Thirteen Problems or the season 7 booklet) and then tonight is a big question mark. Maybe I’ll watch another Stranger Things but we’ll see.

Can you believe it’s already February? As I said to mum yesterday: somehow January feels both to have past quickly and slowly at the same time.

But it’s also time for the January round up and on the first for once.

First off, yipee I managed to write some things! Around Christmas I set 5 fics that I said I’d do before moving onto other things so now I’ve done 4 of the 5 and there’s only one remaining, and that one I’ve worked on a bit this week. So it might be done soon. Then it’s onto… I’m not sure yet, there’s a few possibilities.

Also I actually finished a book! I’m pretty proud for that since I’ve really struggled book reading for a few years despite it being a goal on these things I’ve only managed short stories. But like I said in the thoughts on it, I thought this one was really good! And I’m excited to read the other Agatha Christie books (cause now, on mums insistence, I now have so many.)

Alas no games done this month, but it’s mostly because my focus is off and I’ve had events in the games I go on pulling focus. I didn’t read a comic either but I had hoped to read the new one I got, but I was unfocussed yesterday. Meanwhile podcasting has been a mix of Selene and Rusty Fears both of which are pretty good.

The kickstarted reward for cult of the lamb’s graphic novel came so I read that the other day and I thought it was really great! The art is really amazing and it has some honestly banger lines. It also gave me some feels too, which was unexpected. So if you love the game I do recommend (though it’s obvious it’s gonna have at least three more follow ups cause this covers Darkwood).

As to the watching stuff, I meant to watch The Rig more but being unfocussed and then side tracked with Stranger Things sidetracked me (more on that later) but at least I finally watched Tarot (thoughts a few posts back)

I didn’t watch any blu ray or dvd, despite having some to watch, primarily cause of my back. The Xbox that I play them on is low down so I couldn’t bend down to disc switch (and with the tree in the way I couldn’t disc switch before the biopsy like I should have). Hopefully this month though! I also meant to watch something on shudder but again, focus and stranger things.

Disney was finishing Skeleton Crew, which was really great too! I definitely loved it and hope there’s more. And YouTube was just a few random things (I need to watch the other new Seapeekay things) but yay a trailer for the season 7 collection! And that Badflower vid took an unexpected turn. (And yay James music!)

But of course the main thing is Stranger Things. I did intend to watch one ep a week and then in the last week I watched 5. Oops. But that means I’m able to start season 4 and find out what the deal is with Henry and finally meet Eddie. (I do know what happens to him in a vague sense and I dunno if going in with that knowledge is good or bad). But that’ll be next week!

I’m gonna put thoughts of Season 3 under the cut.

Now we’re off to pick up mums meds then I might fic and watch Spree tonight and generally flop.

I realised the other day I’d not actually posted the last monthly round up of 2024 so here it is.

Overall the only thing I’d not managed was to read a book. I did read some of the first story of I Want That Twink Obliterated…. And then promptly lost it. It, along with Sleep Token magazines and SFX, have suddenly gone awoke. I took them to the library and bout them home but I’ve no idea where they are and haven’t exactly been able to properly search.

Most of the things from the round up I’ve mentioned already in detail elsewhere.

*Witches road was really good and it’s made me wanna see more Scarlet Witch comics.
*Sonic 3 was really good and was my farm film of the year! I wanna get the Knuckles series.
*I’m glad I finished Stranger Athings season 2 and I’m getting back to season 3 tonight

I’m sure I could add more thoughts but my head, annoyingly, is hazy

****

No other thoughts right now cause I’m a mix of tired (due to annoyance of the repair guy that came today but that’s for another post) and creativity has flickered back to life so I’m ficcing a lil so wanna get back to it. I might do a separate post with snowflake, again, if I have a concrete idea and I’ve got things to reply to but I don’t have the focus for right now.

I had been hoping that October would be a more active time, cause of spooky season. However because of being sick and stress I didn’t do as much as I hoped.

The main highlight was definitely Agatha All Along, though I’m still a lil sad it’s over. I think it’s the first series I’ve watched in awhile where after seeing it I want to watch it again, so I might sometime next year.

Other highlight was the new VHS which was pretty good! I still need to watch last years one, which kinda fell by the wayside sadly.

November was mainly took over by the two boxsets, J-Horror Rising and Doctor Who season 25. Between them there wasn’t much time for anything else hence the gaps, despite me, again, intending to do something with other things. I did really enjoy watching both, especially J-Horror Rising which was so good for the most part, I hope Arrow puts out another similar one at some point.

I do have a bunch of comics/graphic novels to read so I’m gonna take them to the two library stints and hopefully get through some there and I hope to watch some of the pile of blu rays (and stuff on Amazon) in the coming days. As well as getting back to Stranger Things and Echoes Of Wisdom

***

Yesterday ended up being pretty draining. I’d been rotating Bob’s passing in my head Saturday night and it just… got to me even more the more I thought about it so I already woke pretty drained.

It was new Fortnite update day though so that offered a distraction and the new map looks pretty, being all Japanese themed with cherry blossom trees and everything. I’m looking forward to exploring it more.

After lunch and the last Brokenwood Mysteries (which featured a cute donkey!), I went up for Dungeons And Dodongos. I hoped to use the laptop for it but the moment I turned it on I was hit by a blue screen of death and now whenever I turn it on the screen doesn’t come on. Apparently it’s a common issue so I might be able to find a fix, but time is obviously the issue at the moment (and I’m worried it might need a repair which’ll would be the worst time for it).

Then when I came down The Holiday was on (ironic cause it was mentioned at the start of the session) and I surprisingly got suckered into it.

My energy and focus went a bit low again so I didn’t do too much else, though it did recover a little to watch something on shudder, a new thing called The Haunted Season. Every night for December there’s going to be a new short thing as part of it, so I’m gonna try and watch each one on the day. The first one, called To Fire You Come At Last wasn’t too great. I think it was cause it was an old time thing, I just couldn’t see to get into it.there were some good moments in it (especially the last scene) but I dunno. I’m hoping the next one is better though! I know things like this will always have ones that don’t quite hit due to the nature of it, so hopefully others will be good. (Edit: I think it wasn’t clear it seems there’ll be on pe every December, not every day in decemeer oop)

I dunno if anyone watches Watcher stuff but I saw they had a thing with the professor plush, selling ones that were a bit wrong.p and I thought about trying for one but the shipping is twice as much as he is which sucks.

Now I’m gonna bundle up, see if I can do anything and maybe watch something tonight.

So it’s time for another monthly round up. The time sure has flies. I’ve something for most categories though some still are lacking sadly. (Again, mostly due to health stuff.) So again, no fic which is annoying, as well as no graphic novels (I intended to read the Dead By Daylight one, but the weekend was so dark) and no who audio (although funnily, I did listen to one this morning). I’ve also been chipping away at Rogue though my rough sleeping has meant I’ve lacked the focus to read more (which sucks!)

However good things! I’ve finished a bunch of things! The Magnus Protocol season 1 (bar the epilogue), Star Wars Outlaws (like I said it’s so fun!), Tears Of The Kingdom (finally! More on that later) and the Mallorca Files (fun as always). Also I finished the Ju-On boxset and the physical VHS films (again more on those later). And, after months of lack of focus, I’m back to watching things on shudder, and not just for VHS! The first Horror’s Greatest is fun.

Plus I saw Alien Romulous, thoughts which I posted a few weeks back.

I still need to watch the rest of Futurama, though it has been really fun and I am continuing Agatha Alll Along (which may be my fave Marvel series) so woo.

I’m hoping this month I can actually write, I have ideas it’s just the will to actually write them and it hasn’t helped having distractions (and pain). Fingers crossed I have something this week!

***

Anyone onto Zelda thoughts which are twofold because I’ve been playing two games.

First is Tears Of The Kingdom. While I had finished the four main regions I still had a bunch of stuff to do. I had intended to goes back to it for months but just… couldn’t. Instead I did a lot of stuff over a few days. The stuff I did:
*Beat Master Kohga in the depths multiple times, including the last one
*Went to Hyrule castle after imposter Zelda
*Found all the tears (which was wild seeing all the cutscenes)
*Did all the stable quests with Penn
*Got the master sword
*found the sage of spirit
*went in the depths beneath the caste and beat Ganondorf

It was a lot to do in such a short time but I somehow locked in and did it. The fight with Ganondorf was really hard, but it was satisfying having all the sages join in. And the last part of the fight (while thankfully easier) was so pretty.

After the credits rolled and the last scene though I couldn’t help but think one thing: did Mineru bring everyone to the island with no way down??

(Of course I have many other thoughts and feelings so if anyone has played please lemme know so we can ramble)

But it was fun and I’m glad I was finally able to lock in and do it (maybe I should get back to skyward sword at some point)

I gave myself a break and then started the new game Echoes Of Wisdom yesterday. (Thoughts this time ipunder a cut cause early game spoilers. For reference I’ve done the first dungeon and on the way to the second, but got sidetracked)

Like I mentioned about I watched more VHS films and I did ratings on twitter as I went along so I’m posting the pm here like I did with the first one the other day. As I watched 2 and Viral it surprised me how few segments I remembered (1 vaguely from 2 and the wrap around and 1 from viral) whereas in 94 I remembered them. I guess it’s cause I’d seen it more recently than 2 and viral.

VHS 2
Wrap around: 6.5/10
Segment 1: 7.5/10
Segment 2: 6/10
Segment 3: 8/10
Segment 4: 6.5/10

I’m glad that vhs 2 had more likeable characters than the first one, and I loved how inventive each of them are (even the second which was the most eh). I’d have rated the last higher if the poor pupper hadn’t got hurt (and implied died). My fav though is the one I remembered, Segment 3 (Safe Haven) which is just so well done and it’s a bold choice for the series to have a subtitled segment so early on.

VHS Viral
Wrap around: 6.5/10
Segment 1: 7.5/10
Segment 2: 7.5/10
Segment 3: 7/10

Viral felt a bit more consistent in terms of quality, though it also had one less segment. (Apparently there was a 4th segment filmed and it’s included on the American release but not on the uk one, which annoyed me as soon as I found out.) The wraparound was a little too disjointed alas, but other than that the first two were really good concepts well executed and the last one was fun too.

VHS 94
Wraparound: 7/10
Segment 1: 8/10
Segment 2: 8/10
Segment 3: 6.5/10
Segment 4: 2.5/10

After the first three films the series changed its format so every segment is set in a particular year (though after three of those the format has seemingly changed again though time will tell if it’s a one off). This one is set in 94 and the first two segments are really strong ones. (The first one especially providing a nice contrast with th documentary style of viral’s first one). However the last two segments are lacking to me. The third, while clearly well done, just didn’t hit with me and the final segment was just so… ugh. (Though maybe it’s cause of the content of it) but the wrap around was pretty good.

I might watch the next one tonight or tomorrow, ish time for the new one on Friday (which I’m hoping to watch release night)

***

Lastly it’s October 1st, so that makes it officially start of spooky season! I hope everyone has done something spooky today. The Who audio I listen ed to this morning was kinda spooky, then I have the Chucky season 1 finale tonight though boo sky mix at not starting season 2 next week.

Again no fic done in September. I’m so irritated that the spark seems to be gone but at least this time it can be tired to the back thing and the nonsense with that stressing me out and exhausting me.

I probably would have finished Steamworld Heist 2 (I certainly intended to) if I’d not got Ubisoft+ so I could go on Outlaws. I do hope to finish it this month though cause it is reallly fun. (Though Outlaws is a time sink but more on that later).

As to everything else, the Deep Space Nine eps are so random cause they’re ones I missed on the tv run.i really wanna get back to Prodigy but my focus has been all over the place. I hope to get back to American Horror Story soon though, as well as the Ju-On boxset run.

I see myself reading graphic novels again this month(I wanna read Crimson Reign but might wanna see if I can find the prelude stuff first. If not, then I have the Dead By Dead one to read.

Another month not watching anything on shudder.if things had been different I would’ve watched that new horro 101 but alas. Hopefully soon.

***

After days of calls we finally have a date for the rescheduled appointment. It’s in almost two weeks. On a Sunday. At 8:30am. Which is fucking ridiculous for a time and if they cancel again I’m gonna snap, cause this thing is just so… ugh.

Things have calmed again with mum. Which is good but ugh it was so exhausting. I had debated going today for the signing but I don’t think I’d have had the energy for it (or been in the mindset to be around that many people). It’s annoying, but at least it was only Palaye and not Parx or Set It Off or anyone.

That meant, since I was here, I was roped into going to the library cause mum wasn’t feeling great. I did end up reading Rogue some more though so it wasn’t a waste. I love the concept of the Doctor playing DND with Vastra, Jenny and Strax (Strax was a bard and sang!) and that Can’t Get You Out Of My Head is mentioned as a future earth anthem which I love.

Since I didn’t go out today it meant I need to figure a way to see Alien Romulus. Alas there’s only a few days left before it both leaves the local cinema and is only late nights in Birmingham. So I can either go to the local cinema (but, because it’s showing at 7:15pm it means I have to walk home in the dark). Or do a trip to Birmingham to see it in daylight, so in other words do what I would have done today minus the signing part (advantage to that, they might have signed cds still so…). But I dunno which is the best way to go. I’ll have a ponder and see how I feel.

Another recent annoyance is the digibox remote has stopped working which is a pain. It’s meant I’ve switched to the tv fully which is gonna take some getting used to (I’ll miss being able to pause things) but I feel the box might be too old to get a replacement remote. Maybe I’ll see if talktalk can sort something but I doubt it.

Midna has been very snuggly lately which is nice. She let me carry her up to bed the other night and she stayed snuggled up to me all night. She was even there when I woke up, curled up under the covers and very cute. She seems to have taken to my bed for some reason too cause now she’s curled under the blankets instead of being around down here.

I have started the Lego Deku tree. I’m so glad that Link’s house and the master sword pedestal are separate builds so you always have them. Also Hestu too! He’s so cute and his maracas even have seeds in them! I love that the instruction booklet has info on some of the things, identifying mushrooms and the items in Link’s crate (I love the hook shot especially. I’ve finally done the base of the tree itself, though the base has been annoyingly fragile at times. Today I got to the point where you choose which tree to do and I’m gonna do the BOTW one cause it’s prettier. The OOT tree does look nice though, though I don’t see myself switching it up to make it (or getting a second tree to do so… well unless I win the lottery).

Other thing I’ve been doing is, obviously, Outlaws. I have to say that it’s good, really good. It’s a lot of fun and I’ve found myself sinking a lot of time into it already. Obviously my fav character thus far is Nix, Whois so adorable (and you can eat with him!) but I love Kay too, especially how out of her depth she is and how new to everything she is. It’s took me 13 hours but I finally got off the first main moon (Toshara, a new place which has been so cool) and I loved you had to explore a high republic wreck. And ahhh! The hot droid! I dunno which ND-5 is hot but he is and I’m glad he’s shown up. First planet I’ve visited (cause he suggested it and I’m weak) is Kajimi and I feel it’s gonna give me feels for this world that the first order destroys pointlessly.

It does make me wanna watch Solo again too, so I might watch that soon.

Other good things, As It Is are back yay! Weathers have a new song tomorrow! Slam Dunk has announcements tomorrow too. There’s a new Smile 2 and VHS beyond trailers, both which look good too.

But oop this post has become rambly.

Plan for this week
*Look into uni stuff
*Get back to Ju-On run
*Read Rogue some more
*Build Lego Deku tree more
*Start VHS run/watch American Horror Story some more
*More Outlaws
*finish fic (most likely the birthday one)

So it’s monthly round up time and… yeah there’s large gaps this time. That’s mostly down to low energy (a mix of general low energy and mood, but also the heat being draining) which is so annoying.

Heat is what put me off going to the cinema, among other things, cause I pondered seeing Despicable Me 4, Inside Out 2 or Deadpool and wolverine. My local cinema is still showing them all but will I have chance to see them before they switch out? I am hoping to see something this month though, if not them then Borderlands (which the cinema is getting), the new Alien film or Trap.

Although who audios are blank cause Into the tardis ones technically count?

Also yay for finally finishing a book. It’s taken me so long to read which is annoying but I finally finished one. (A+ work for having a non binary character and what might be the first mention of binders in Star Wars). And yay for Krow’s audio, I hope it does more cause it has a good voice for it.

The main thing I watched was The Acolyte which was A Lot. I have many thoughts and feelings about it. (Manny Jacinto hot being a main one).

I hate how I didn’t fic, it’s not that I had no ideas it’s that words just wouldn’t come out which is so irritating.

Anyway now to flop, maybe fic and snuggle.

So I was gonna do a more general post but I saw I haven’t done the monthly round up so here it is.

As you can see the big things that a I’ve watched have been finishing season 1 of American Horror Story (which I’ve talked about) and starting season 2 though I need to get back to it. Also there’s the Acolyte that I’ve been enjoying (and damn, Manny Jacinto in the last eps has been so…)

Also! I finished a game! Yipee! I did hope to finish Still Wakes The Deep and, despite being tired and drained, I managed to. I had been looking forward to it and I love the whole spooky vibes of the whole thing and I loved the design of the… whatever it was that took over the rig. There’s no real answers about what exactly it is, but then I didn’t exactly expect there to be (these are rig workers dealing with an unexpected thing, not scientists or people intentionally looking for it). The ending has disappointed people and I can see why it did but also I can see why it went that way and it was certainly a bold choice.

I am, again, hoping this month will lead to more of these categories being filled in (books already has one so woo!) but we shall see.

***

Other things! Yesterday was so draining with mum starting an argument and then an annoying phone call I had to deal with (ugh) but then shoto posted new pics (ahhh I love the contrast between soft boy and chest) and then there was an unexpected Doctor Who announcement.

There’s a new blu ray collection coming out (the day after my birthday!) and it’s season 25. It’s an unexpected release cause usually someone leaks it but no one did this time. The trailer has made me excited for it, cause they’ve done new special edition extended versions for all four episodes which will be interesting cause they look pretty cool.

Today’s been the start of Owen’s subathon so I watched some. I backed the plushie he’s gonna do which I didn’t expect but the tang with it is so cute. Plus the badges look pretty (cause he got them this morning) so hopefully I’ll get them soon.

Gonna snuggle with Midna now and.. I dunno.

Late update to these, I kept meaning to post them but failing. Obviously the past months haven’t had much done causa various things.

I had hoped to read more comics causa free comic book day, but alas only managed to read two which is annoying, hopefully I can read some this month.

Main things of note:
*I finally started The Umbrella Academy… only to promptly not continue you it despite being intrigued by it
*I watch the first half of Tales Of The Empire and then also forgot to watch the second half
*I’ve slipped behind on Into The Tardis and Magnus Protocol oop
*I had expected seeing Episode I would start a Star Wars run but it didn’t
*American Horror Story Murder House really pulled focus (as it should it’s awesome!) and I should finish season 1 tonight (if not then this weekend)

This month I am hoping to hit more of these again. I am hoping to get one game done this month, albeit not one of the ones I have started, but next week one of my potential games of the year is coming to game pass: Still Wakes The Deep. It’s a horror game set on an oil rig and I wanna try and dedicate a few nights next week to playing it.

Anyway, this might be the first of a few posts today so stay tuned for those.

It’s perhaps obvious that March was a slow month due to being sick, which meant I couldn’t do all that much. Still I did finish my Ring boxset (which I consider a very worthwhile purchase) and my new Who boxset came so I started that too.

The coming week I hope to do a bunch of things, but most depend on either my focus or the weather.

Things I hope to get done
*finish fic (hopefully today), work on another
*Next who ray ep, Underworld
*Get back to watching Wreck (damn bbc 3 playing two eps a week and not being clear, throwing me off)
*Get back on Tears Of The Kingdom
*Call about blood test
*Take old pad to be looked at
*Decide, and sort out, ticket for Kill The Lights
*Decide if what I’m getting (if anything) from xbox sale
*Start of next Magic Arena expansion

I think that’s everything, though I’m also sure I’ve missed a thing.

First monthly round up of the year!

I feel I did better than I expected to. I’m glad I got to start Star Trek Prodigy at last (which I’ve really enjoyed) and the first Hazbin ep was good too. I did hope to do more, but alas my head and eyes being archly has meant I’ve not been able to do much (also why I didn’t get to finish Under The Waves which I thought I’d be able to when I started it)

And I’m glad I finally watched the Dungeons And Dragons blu ray that’s been sitting there for months!

And it’s obvious how someone got me distracted with Asking Alexandria.

Hopefully this month I can watch something on shudder and do other things, though we’ll see.

***

The last few days have been uneventful, mostly cause I got really tired and stressed. In part that’s cause we were gonna have the washer sorted a few days ago but it kept being stalled (it seems to be sorted now though). I’d also suggested to mum we could go out the other day but she seemed non-committal so I didn’t push it, though on the day of course she changed her mind but didn’t tell me. (Though im kinda glad we didn’t).

A few months ago we had booked a ticket for something, though I can’t seem to find any confirmation so now I’m wondering if we actually did (I’d not be surprised, I think it was done on mums kindle which tends to be temperamental)

And ahhh Sleep Token are doing a uk tour in November (ugh why in a cold month!) so I might try and get a ticket. The us tour went real quick so I’m not optimistic, but… we’ll see

A few weeks late but here’s December’s monthly round up. As I with a lot of months there’s so many gaps, mostly due to stress/depression making focus bad. But! I did finish the Dark Pictures Anthology which I do absolutely recommend, especially Devil In Me. I’m super excited for the next one whenever it’s coming.

And I also finished another Heritage set of The Paternoster Gang (and finished the last one this month) which were pretty good for the most part. It makes me so sad that they’ve not had a series, or appeared on Who in general, but maybe that will change soon?

The other Who audios were on BBC sounds. The ninth doctor one was very timey wimey, so bare that in mind though. The tenth Doctor ones were ones I got for Christmas and the Tenth Doctor and Donna are so great together

But yeah a lot of gaps, I do hope that this year there’ll be less gaps.

***

Last few days have been semi productive. I finished a fic and hoped that would spark doing more, but alas it hasn’t. Mostly that’s due to it being really cold and also because of yesterday. (I had hoped to do one of the shorter wips cause I suspect tomorrow I’ll wanna do a James thing)

But yeah it has bygone really cold, it just feels freezing inside the house and it’s made my fingers so cold. The main issue is that, because Midna and Naryu curl up on us, we can’t shift to turn the heating or heater on (as they are dead weights and refuse to move alone). When outside it’s been so cold and I shrill can’t find my gloves so I might have to find some. Apparently it’s meant to snow soon which? Ugh

Yesterday we ended up going to Sainsburys to see if they had cat litter. I wasn’t keen on going since it meant walking in the cold and I thought it’d be a wasted trip. But they did have some though it was exhausting getting back. As mentioned in the last one I also got a Lego bond car, which I made up last night and looks pretty cool though doesn’t have any features other than changing number plates (of which there’s eight).

Yesterday afternoon mum went with my cousin to see my uncle cause he’s had some infection due to his treatment but… eh I find it hard to care. Nor do I care about the gossip mum got about my cousins either. They didn’t care about us or my grandparents when we needed to so why should I now? Eh.

This week I have been watching Seapeekay’s subathon stream, which I’ve dipped in and out of but it’s been mostly fun, especially since he’s been playing Cult Of The Lamb (meaning he’s the third streamer to do so along with Foolish and Eret) and it’s impressive how far he’s got in it on the new save. (When I left last night he’d unlocked sin) he’s gonna do a horror game tonight but I dunno what it is yet.

Tonight’s the xbox showcase thing which I’m curious about watching because there’s Indiana Jones and ESO info, though it’ll just remind me how far behind I am on ESO. I still haven’t finished up on High Isle/Firesong stuff and haven’t started Necrom despite having it since release. Damnit. Another thing for the list.

Also what is it with stuff today? Cause the Magnus Archives follow up has just gone live though I dunno when I’ll get to listen.

Tomorrow is the gig in Birmingham, which on the one hand I’m looking forward to on the other. Ugh there’s already issues. The minor one is I’d hoped to make it a day and see a film, but all the ones I’d have wanted to see either have ended (Night Swim/Aquaman) or had their times too late (The Boy And The Heron). Not only the but the train back is a bus replacement partway which is always an annoying. I’m not looking forward to that cause buses tend to be so much colder than trains.

But on the other hand, the game in Birmingham has the Shadow set in stock so I should be able to get it and James posted merch pics so I have some idea what to get (though he does say he has a extra ‘surprise’ thing which ??). I’m not gonna head to the venue though until about an hour before doors open because fuck waiting in the freezing cold like an idiot. (Though I hope the time on the venues site is right cause it means I should be able to see Jago at merch)

Now though I’m gonna watch the last The Upper Hand ep, maybe fic and watch the Xbox thing.

Yup I know it’s late but ugh anxiety and stress was annoying which was also a factor in November being lacking in some areas, boo. But here’s Novembers round up, posted on Christmas Eve oop.

And mini post cause I don’t think I’ll make one later.

Happy almost christmas!

Yesterday ended up being so tiring, we went to sainsburys to get food shopping and ugh, it was busy already. I’d also told mum that certain things should be left till last cause I’m trying to keep track of money and previous pre Christmas shops were crazy which of course she ignored. (Most notably cause of the cat litter which she insisted on getting despite it being three times the price we usually pay and me not wanting to, especially since there was an Aldi next door we were going to check which, surprise surprise, had some at the usual price, ugh)

Thankfully it wasn’t an overspend like the last times despite that though and picking up the food orders went ok. (And I got to see the Guinea pigs in pets at home while waiting, they’re so cute!)

When I got back I ended up dozing then watching a few things on tv. There was some stuff on Dickens on sky arts (I didn’t know he’d been to Italy, or that he’d done so many ghost stories), then I finally watched the grinch on tv (pretty good), then watched a bit of a stream before Invitation to murder (good idea, didn’t quite work).

Then I did a bit more of Baldur’s Gate so I’m not off the nautoloid ship and on the ground now. I dunno why but the first combat there seemed much harder than the one on the ship. I didn’t do much cause of that but! I did get to meet two hot men which are now part of my party, Gale and Astarion. (Which can smooch them both right?) I loved that Astarion’s intro included him having a knife at my characters throat, like yep game, really start with that👀

Thn I did a few round on dead by daylight before crashing again. I had hoped to work on something yesterday ficwise but I dunno, I think tiredness got the better of my brain.

Anyway! Today’s plan is White Christmas, maybe work on stuff then just watch the stuff on bbc1.(and iplayer stuff from 2)

I meant to post the September one sooner in October but it kept slipping my mind so he is is with October.

It’s pretty obvious but the stressful things in September had an impact on actually doing things, which isn’t too much of a surprise but it’s still disappointing.

Then there’s October. I had hoped to do a bunch of spooky stuff for the season but ended up… not (I’m gonna do a post about that later, probably after lunch) partly it’s down to the stress that mum decided to cause me, which threw me off a lot (especially since it happened twice) and just…

But I did get possessed by the spirit of kinktober. 10 fics, plus 1 non-kinktober which is… insane. Like I’ve said I only expected to do a handful so to do so many is crazy (plus there’s more ive worked on but not finished). I had hoped to post them on ao3, but again, I’ve kept being distracted and sidetracked and not done so. Hopefully soon though.

But yeah I’m gonna do a proper post sometime later maybe because I have so many thought.

I meant to post this sooner, but *gestures* things happened and I got too distracted and unfocused. So two weeks late, here it is!

Again I didn’t do any reading like I meant to, which really sucks. I really need to get back to reading my books because I was so into them and it feels like I don’t have time. I’d also intended to watch stuff on prime (I wanted to watch Red White and Royal Blue but never found the time) and shudder (there was some good sounding films this time!). I might have watched a film in the cinema if the showings were on better times

However I did manage to do some games (which were good but the endings…) and do a bunch of the Saw run (which is super fun!). Plus there’s Ahsoka and Futurama and the Babylon 5 film turned out to be awesome.

Plus, as I’ve said before, words have come back! So writing has taken a decent chunk of time especially when I’m in the zone.

Hopefully this months round up will be earlier!

***

There’s gonna be another post later, because Things happened yesterday that feel like a personal attack (in a good way) and I was gonna tack them to this post but I feel they deserve their own thing so that’s what they’re getting (probably around lunch time)

So monthly round up post time!

As seemingly always happens there’s gaps, but not as many as some months. I meant to read the comics/graphic novels the other day but my headache completely made me lose focus entirely.

For the first time in months I watched something on Shudder (I keep meaning to and keep not). I only ended up watching Host because it’s fairly short and it was the anniversary of its release. Alas my focus wasn’t fully there for it (I might watch again in October if I still have shudder) but it’s still impressive because it was made during lockdown. I might get the dvd release at some point because I’m sure there’s a behind the scenes which would be interesting to see.

(Netflix, alas, is just random Voyager eps cause I missed them on tv)

I also finished games. I got sidetracked from Zelda (I’ve lost my groove with it somehow and been distracted by events in other games). Both of these games were recs from people and I enjoyed both of them. Both were, in their own way, twisty and going in wild directions, but both are also vastly different. I’m glad I played and finished them both, because I had had fun with both (and would recommend them both!). I’d post more Ghost Trick thoughts but my brain feels empty).

And I also finished a fic! Does this mean the block will be cleared? I dunno. I still feel like I might write myself into dead ends or talk myself out of things.

***

This coming month I might do more things. I wanna read more, but I have to be in the right mindset and I also wanna finish Zelda. Even if not I’ll be finishing at least Man Of Medan games wise. In terms of blu rays there’s three coming this month: Dungeons And Dragons (which came today), Babylon 5: The Road Home and Resident Evil Death Island. Plus there’s the Saw films though those are dvds.

I doubt I’ll watch a cinema thing this month. There’s more film showings in the local cinema cause it’s the summer holiday so I could see Elemental (or one of the random Disney films they’re showing) but I dunno. I don’t wanna leave mum unattended just yet.

I wanna finish Star Wars visions or young Jedi adventures before Ahsoka comes and I’m behind on *gestures to long list* of things on Netflix. We’ll see I guess.

Monthly round up post time!

Again there’s been no fic, which is kinda bleh but I did end up starting something (again) so we’ll see if that goes anywhere or if I become blocked.

At least this month I did finish a game, with The Chant. Like I’ve mentioned it’s a solid 7/10 and I hope the studio do more.

I listened to a lot of Spirit Box Radio because I got so into it, especially with the appearance of Oliver at last.

Alas this last week (when I planned to read a graphic novel, comics and watch stuff on shudder was plagued with issues so I didn’t do any of them. I also didn’t do much of anything else (apart from finishing The Chant) which has been an annoyance. I’m hoping July will go better and the issues of today aren’t symptomatic of the month as a whole.

***

Yesterday after making the post we went to town to see Indiana Jones and the trip ended up being oddly tiring despite us not doing too much, which is kinda… baffling. It’s not as if we went everywhere or got bags of stuff but we were both tired.

(All I got was a magazine, a book from The works sale and some nanoblock from game, hardly heavy stuff)

Also McDonald’s was kinda… lacking (other than the mozzarella bites and fries, whenever they have cheese things it’s always so good). So if we go again I think we might skip that. Not that there’s any films I wanna see till October (unless I do decide to go to a late spiderverse showing)

Brief thoughts on Indiana Jones And The Dial Of Destiny under the cut (I’ll keep it spoiler free as possible).

It’s June already? Where has the year gone? I’m currently on a train heading to Birmingham so this will be a short one.

(Also happy pride month!)

I had hoped to get more done this month but things got in the way. I’d hoped to finish fic, but block hit majorly (plus depression). I hoped to finish Resident Evil 4 remake but my motivation vanished. I’m claiming Pokémon violet finished even though the main story isn’t (I was pretty close but then Zelda game). I hoped to read the rest of the comics and graphic novels I got at free comic book day but my motivation, alas, vanished. I hoped to watch all the new Star Wars stuff that came on Star Wars day but didn’t.

That coupled with my glasses going, meaning I was plagued with headaches and unable to focus, meant I wasn’t able to watch stuff at night like I’d usually do. A few times I hoped to watch a thing on Netflix or shudder, or even just finish the Who ray special features, only for my eyes and head to go ‘nope!’ Which really sucks.

However having my eyes go bad meant I was able to actually listen to podcasts this month and, as you can tell, I ended up getting really into Spirit Box Radio which I’m really interested in. It’s very spooky but at times kinda… cozy? Somehow? But I’m enjoying it so far. I’ve been listening to it for just over a week and I’m 15 episodes in so that’s gotta count for something right?

***

Other things. Like I mentioned I’m on the train to Birmingham to hopefully meet my friend. It’s been a bit touch and go with the strikes (they fall either side of today so made me think there’s be issues) but it seems to be fine so far. Post later (likely locked though).

Yesterday as the first day I didn’t do Tears If The Kingdom since getting it. That was mostly to attempt to do the Fall Guys event thing which I spent far too much time on (I managed to complete it, just in time, this morning) as well as do some Fortnite weekly quests. I’m so close to finishing the battle pass now.

Pokémon masters was also updated with a new event and there was a scout for Adaman which I tried and I got him in the first pill! That was a surprise since normally even if you do four or five you have no luck so I’m really happy h(especially since he’s pretty and has an alt Pokémon to get too).

I’m gonna do [personal profile] dreamersdare’s suggestion of doing fandom joy posting this month. I already have some ideas for things. I’m not sure if it has a name to tag, I’ll have to ask when I reply to their latest post (hopefully tonight)

The new [community profile] seasonofkink sign ups are live which I might do, even though I’ve been so bad at doing the last ones. It’s sad though since this seems like it might be the last one which is a shame.

But anyway, I’m gonna leave it there cause we’re getting pretty close to Birmingham.
