It’s the last day of April already. Where has the month gone? I’ve actually hated how at the end of last month I was all in a slightly better place and thinking I’d get a load of things done and I just… I’ve done certain things but others, mostly due to stress, I’ve not. Like I didn’t get to read Agatha Christie book for the month, nor did I finish fic despite thinking I was going to. It’s so annoying.

Yesterday was mums birthday and it was a nice day. I wasn’t able to do her the cake I usually do cause the food shop came in the morning and she wanted to try the local pub for lunch. It was nice, I tried something called Singapore noodles which were really good though I think the cider I had with it made my head fuzzy.

Today mum wanted to go down to look at sainsburys (after changing her mind three times yesterday) and it was annoying cause of the sudden heat. But I got to make a cute kitty friend on the way back. I also ended up getting a few things, there was a Funko Mandalorian N-1 on sale which looks so cool and there was a Metal Hammer magazine with Sleep Token that I didn’t know about (and it was the last one!) but most interestingly was a book I picked up in tk which was a translation of The Egyptian Book Of The Dead which is pretty cool.

Tomorrow is voting and I am a bit annoyed about it. We’ve had fliers through from labour and reform (ugh) but nothing from the Lib Dem and green candidates and I can’t seem to find any info on them. (The green has a twitter that’s not been updated since 2019 and the Lib Dem doesn’t even have that.) it feels baffling. I’ll probably vote Green but it’s still annoying they don’t seem to be trying.

The sudden heat hasn’t helped my sleep which has been off lately anyway. A few nights back I had a bad dream about Midna which unsettled me and it feels every night has be had different bad dreams. Last night it reminded me about people that hurt and abandoned me, then another was just… unsettling in a way I can’t describe. I wish these bad dreams would go away. Can’t I dream about something nice?

Saturday is gonna be the Birmingham trip, for free comic book day. Hopefully I’ll be able to hit up the entertainer and Lego for the freebies too (though I might miss them) and there might be a nice Star Wars thing to pick up on sale. Cause of all the stress (and finding a code) mum said we could hit up Sea Life for the Animal Crossing event which ends in a few days. So I’ll be posting pics on insta from thaf. I just hope it’ll be a nice time and not as warm as today.

The local cinema has got Thunderbolts and also Sinners for Bank Holiday Monday so I am considering going to see one, but I dunno what the bank holiday buses are. I guess we’ll see if I decide to go or not.

I’m sure I had some other thought but my mind has gone, once again, blank.

I'm looking forward to your pictures of the Animal Crossing thing at Sea Life! We opted not to go to the one in London this summer after all, but I'm glad you get to go.

I'm desperate to see Sinners - last I checked it wasn't showing anywhere up here, but I'll have to check again.

Cute kitty friends are always good!

We haven't got local elections here as ours were two years ago (that Nick Mason fool who's been done for betting on the election date last year and is facing sentencing is a councillor in my county and in theory could be made to step down for a by election once found guilty and sentenced, but that's not my ward) but I remember hearing very little from the candidates at the last locals here as well. As for Reform fliers, give those to Midna to shred!

I hope the voting went okay! We are officially started early voting next week, I think. I still need to research the candidates, and then I get out to city hall and do my thing.

Also hoping to see Sinners this weekend. It should be playing at the cinema cafe and I haven't been there in ages. I've heard SO many good things. I'd like to see Thunderbolts too--it's the first Marvel thing in awhile I've actually been excited about.

Unrelated: Did you finish Stranger Things? I've been checking your posts (even when I don't comment on them), and I don't think I saw a recap/reaction to the season finale, but I might've missed it.

Ugh, yeah, the heat is bugging me. It was supposed to rain this week, and that would've cooled things down a bit, but nope.

That's the only thing I'm concerned about—not following parts of it because I quit watching the shows. I think I got midway through the second season of "Loki" before quitting, and I didn't watch all of them before that anyway. That cast though!

Finally got rain today, and it did cool things down! Woooo!

I heard good things about Agatha All Along, rather I heard that people liked it, but I'm so over this thing Disney keeps doing where they introduce a great villain and then redemption-arc them like one episode/volume/series later. Also I was salty (and still am) about what they did to Wanda in Multiverse of Madness. I hated that movie so much. That killed whatever momentum I had left for the rest of the shows.

Seriously. And the thing is, I kept hearing the movie was good, especially from horror fans, and while I see where they were coming from, I cannot get past what they did to my girl. She deserved better! >:(

(Also, I think the movie was just sloppy and kind of crap. So many recent MCU movies have felt like a long advertisement for the next one, and I can't watch that. It's exhausting.)

Happy belated birthday to your mum.

I saw Thunderbolts* yesterday and really enjoyed it, and still hope to see Sinners as I've also heard great things.
