shadowhive: (Tyler Collar)
So yesterday I was pretty much unsettled after getting the letter so couldn’t really do anything. Focus was off the entire day so all I managed was mindless gaming things on Fortnite.

I think Leia sensed the bad vibes cause when I went to bed she curled up behind my head and purred like crazy. (The purring is standard the placement is new)

This morning right before I was due to go out I had another letter (or rather two because for some reason they send these in pairs). I have another appointment, same day an hour earlier. Which of course sent mum crazy. We had settled, yesterday (and her idea) on heading to Wolverhampton before the hospital but now she wants us to go straight there which ugh. I didn’t wanna talk about it when I was just about to head out though, but ugh. Hopefully though that does mean I only have two things at those set times and that’s it which be good.

I did head to town today cause I just needed to get out. I got Starburst magazine and new Fantastic 4 from Smiths and the crow inquistor Funko from Smyths (an exclusive, which was reduced which was a surprise)

I was debating between just seeing Obsession and seeing Rose Of Nevada too so I decided on seeing both, of course when I got to the cinema I found my phone was out of charge but I had my pad to use my pass. I should get the card, I wish there was a way of doing it.

Between films (instead of after like I planned) I went to Burger King and got another Mandalorian cup, so that’s two down. I still haven’t got the one I want most but this one has Grogu which looks cute.

I did find out from the cinema that they are getting something for The Mandalorian but they dunno what yet.

The horror trailers were mostly the same, which is odd cause you think with Obsession and Hokum out they’d have added at least one more to replace them but nope.(though Passengers is now the newer trailer and confirmed to be coming to the cinema with a standee). I do wanna see evil dead burn now I know Tyler’s actor is in it.

I missed some of the Rose Of Nevada trailers. As I came in Disclosure Day was playing which I’m curious about. Then there was A Private Life which was French, but seems to be a murder mystery/investigation thing so I’m curious. Tuner I’d seen in the coming soon on the cinema but not seen much about. It’s got kinda heist vibes.

Anyway thoughts on both films under the cut. (Note there will be slight spoilers for both so avoid if you’re gonna see the )

Next cinema trio will be one week from today to see The Mandalorian And Grogu! Yippie! Since I’m going with mum I dunno if I’ll see a second film, but if I do it’ll be probably Passenger depending on times, (since I’m going to the first showing at 10 am, much like I did with Fantastic 4) but we’ll see when showings go up

I got to the station just as the train was about to leave but the conductor person saw me arrive and let me on. So I got home in good time.

I’m gonna bundle up and… I dunno what my plan is tonight. Maybe The Pitt or finishing the Androzani special features. It depends on mood/tiredness.

Belated happy Star Wars day for yesterday! (Though I know people call today Revenge Of The 5th so it kinda counts)

I didn’t do much Star Wars related yesterday due to heading to the cinema. I did do some Lego Star Wars free play levels (from Episode II) before heading out and when I got back I did a little on Fortnite (thou* not the Star Wars modes). I have finally got galaxy of heroes to work again it just sucks I missed out on the Andor era but at least it’s in time for the new one.

I did watch the finale of Mail Shadow Lord when I got back, no spoilers but it was pretty great though also a bit sad. I do feel bad for Maul cause of all that which is wild to think about really.

I was thinking of building the Lego X-Wing yesterday but I just had no time. (If I’d not gone out I’d have done it probably.) I did do the little Razor Crest Sunday which was a clever build for something so small, as well as Cobb Vanth’s speeder which looks so cool. Yeah it’s out of scale but that doesn’t matter much to me it looks so nice.

But anyway!

Yesterday I ended up going to the cinema for The Sheep Detectives and Hokum. I went straight to the cinema but it was pretty busy when I got there so I missed most of the sheep detective trailers. (And all the ones for Hokum were repeats alas I expected at least one new one, or even to switch Passenger for the newer one)

Thoughts on both under the cut, there won’t be spoilers for The Sheep Detectives (cause murder mystery) but there might be some for Hokum. (Also there’s unexpected cuteness too)

Next cinema trip might be next week for Obsession (and to use a Burger King code I got sent) then it’s the Mandalorian and Grogu the week after!

Today, as mentioned, I built up the New Republic X-Wing, which was a pretty cool build (and yay getting Colonel Ward!) annoyingly one of the parts has flew off (a bit for one of the laser cannons) and I can’t figure out where it’s gone. So one of the four is a bit shorter than the others,

I might put thoughts for Warning From Space in the next post (I was here but I’m feeling a lil tired so…).

Now I’m gonna rest a bit and then… I’m not sure.
shadowhive: (Lothcat Sleepy)
So I did end up going today, though more cause mum announced (last night) that I was ‘going no matter what’ which kinda meant I didn’t have a choice.

The new sfx came this morning, so I took that with me and read some of the reviews. The cover of the issue is about Stranger things tales of 85, plus the issue has stuff on From (which I need to watch) and some horror things. The teaser for the next one has Lestat (I still need to watch Interview).

Once I was in town I went straight to the record store and didn’t have too much luck. It had been open since 8 and I got there after 10 so I wasn’t surprised the BMTH album had gone (and they didn’t even get the Pokémon one). It wasn’t a total loss though, I did get the Doctor Who one, which was a red vinyl of The Rescue.

The Smiths had Star Wars cards which surprised me so I got some, along with some cheap sweets and drink.

Then I went in the art gallery. Third floor was closed to prep for a new exhibit and some other rooms seemed closed off too alas, but there was a nice photography one on the top floor and I saw my fav painting that they have (this one). What surprised me though was seeing there was a Picasso and a Van Gogh in the regular collection.

(Speaking of art we’ve been watching something about japan every week night, one ep had cute deer! And mum saw the great wave painting and loved it which was sweet)

I didn’t go anywhere else really but from a cancer charity shop I got a bake off apron, Fairy Tail dvd, Agatha Christie book and hellfire duvet set.

At the cinema I had waffle fries and read some of the sfx.

I ended up seeing The Magic Faraway Tree and The Mummy which were both wildly different. One was U and the other was 18.

But first trailers. A fair few were ones I’d seen but new to me were
Charlie the wonderdog: looks fun enough, basically a dog gaining powers cause of aliens and so saves people (plus there’s an evil cat)
Hitpig: trailer felt too short to come up with proper thoughts but it looks nice
Ice Cream Man: First time seeing the trailer and… eh. I don’t think I’ll see it. (Kids killing adults causa something in ice cream just doesn’t sound appealing)
Evil Dead Burn: wasn’t too sure what to make of trailer but then I’ve not seen Evil Dead fully before so…

Other stuff was standard current horror film trailers: Passenger (not the new one sadly), Obsession, Backrooms (yay Backrooms twink!), Hokum (a new trailer, which is better at selling it). I’m probably gonna see all of those.

And now film thoughts. Under a cut as always.

That ends month 9 of the pass. Ironically I’ve seen 9 films during it, which is the most I’ve done in a month. (Also with these last 2 I’m over 20 for the year already which is crazy when you think most ray I’d be lucky to hit 5 the whole year).

Month 9: March 20th - April 20th
20: Project Hail Mary
2: They Will Kill You, Ready Or Not Here I Come
4: Arco, Super Mario Galaxy (3D)
13: Exit 8, Undertone
18: The Magic Faraway Tree, The Mummy

Obviously my fav of these was a Project Hail Mary but most of them are all pretty strong. I feel They Will Kill You is the only real weak link and even that was still entertaining enough.

Next cinema trip should be Hokum or maybe the Sheep Detectives or both (but I would like to see Hail Mary again too)

I have, belatedly, watched the next Doctor Who ep in my run (Resurrection Of The Daleks) but thoughts on thwt will come later cause I’ve happend enough and yawning.
shadowhive: (The Child Soup)
So today was a cinema trip so this is a post about that.

When I got to town I only went in a few places. I went in Poundland to get lightbulbs (the one at the top of the stairs has gone) then Aldi to get pasta (I picked up a leaflet and the new pasta sounded nice.) Then popped in Asda. I had some luck again! They had the new Mandalorian visual guide, which I didn’t even know was out, and it was half off! So naturally I grabbed it. And they also had copies of Project Hail Mary so I got that too.

I read some of the Mandalorian visual guide between films and I’m so looking forward to going through it properly.its hefty covering all three seasons of the show (plus some of Book Of Boba Fett) and it starts with a new map. Damn I love it when a book starts with a galaxy map, I love looking through it, spotting familiar plants and also seeing things and wanting to know what they are,

The trailers before Exit 8 were a bit puzzling, in that only one was a horror.

Micheal: A new one, again it looks like it’s well done but not something I’d go watch
Power Ballad: A few with Paul Rudd and one of the Jonas brothers. It seems the latter stole a song the former wrote and made it a hit
Two women: A French film, about two women that seem to be unhappy with their lives. Probably won’t see feels it could be funny
Backrooms: I’d seen this trailer online but ahh seeing it on a big screen (twice!) was so good especially since it’s confirmation we’re getting it! I’m so sold on the concept of a strange space, plus it’s part found footage which I love, plus it meant I got to see the Backrooms twink on the big screen

The trailers for Undertone were pretty much the ones I’ve seen for recent horror things (with Undertone switched out for Backrooms): Scary Movie, Passenger, Obsession, The Mummy, Hokum.

Thoughts on both under the cut.

Next cinema trip should be Saturday for record store day but I’m not sure what. I was hoping to see the new Mummy film, but the earliest showing is 3 and the films before that are kinda… lacking. I could see Mario Galaxy again, or Project Hail Mary, or I could see the magic faraway tree but I’m not sure. We’ll see.

After that it’s Hokum, then The Sheep Detectives.

Now I’m gonna bundle up a bit.i had considered watching something but I don’t feel I have the energy.
shadowhive: (Goose Bell)
Yesterday ended up being a kinda tiring day. I was recharging from the late night cinema trip then we had to head out to get some stuff from the co-op (the one by the station not up the road, cause we had a voucher for there).

That meant I didn’t do much yesterday, just watching a random film on tv (Carry On Dick, which makes me wonder are the Carry On films known outside of the uk?), then beyond paradise before zoning out.

This morning I went to town again. I got the little Easter egg make and take from the entertainer, as well as a big plush of Nubs (on clearance, it’s a shame the young Jedi adventures stuff is reduced so often but then I’ve not watched as much of it as I should). Then got some bits for mum before the cinema.

Trailers:
Oddly there were two concert trailers before Arco, one for Billie Eilish, one for BTS. (So BTS fans, check your cinemas there shows being shown) I should really listen to them, I’ve only really heard the few Fortnite songs
Both films had The Mandalorian and Grogu trailer which made me squee. I’m so excite for it.
The Sheep Detective is one of those trailers that’s instantly made me wanna see it. Hugh Jackman is a shepherd who reads to his sheep. When they find him dead they take it on themselves to solve the mystery. I’m so so sold on this. It looks so fun.
Also there was Moana and Michael (Seen before), a new Minions trailer (I wanna see it) and Toy Story 5 which looks like it might be fun.

Onto film thoughts, first for Arco, then Super Mario Galaxy.

I felt too tired to do anything else in town so just came back home (plus it was ten minutes till the next train). Tonight I’m gonna bundle up, then maybe watch or listen to something (after magic arena for the week).

Next cinema trip should be Exit 8!
shadowhive: (5SOS Luke Restrained)
So I did go to the cinema today! Before I left I had a delivery though, of a Lego bunny set. Someone had put up instructions of Rocky from Project Hail Mary using the set and I totally caved to get it. (I built him tonight before this post, may post pics later)

In town I picked up some things mum wanted, feminine stuff she had vouchers for and the Lego Easter sets before going to the cinema.

I got the Mario Galaxy cup they had, which came with a keyring! I chose bowser which is pretty cool. (I got early because I knew how crazy the next days would likely be). Pics tomorrow in light. (They also had a popcorn tin but that seemed pricy and basic) After nomming some waffle fries I went up for the films.

But first, trailers! These were the same for both which makes sense given they were the same genre but it felt a shame there wasn’t even one different. They were:
Scary Movie: I’d seen this one before, it looks like it’ll be really funny and dumb, I’ve not seen the scary movie films for awhile so I’ll have to look them up
Passenger: Same trailer as before (well more a short scene) and I’m still super curious about it
Obsession: New trailer that I’d not seen. This one has made me jinda curious, especially how the woman’s face is always hidden which is kinda sus and intruiging
Hokum: new to me trailer, I’d seen another longer one which had made me curious, the vibes look really good
The Mummy: a different trailer than before, but I dunno I didn’t vibe with this one as much. I’ll still probably see it since I’ll be in town anyway
Undertone: I’m so sold on this one, cause I’m a sucker for haunted tech and thags the vibe I’m getting. Also the way it used the cinemas audio in the trailer alone makes me excite for it.

Before I get into them it is kinda funny that two films with similar themes came out so close to each other. They probably would have worked better not releasing as close but then maybe someone thought that’d capitalise on a double bill which… well it worked on me so I guess there’s a point there.

Thoughts under the cut for They Will Kill You then Ready Or Not Here I Come.

Now though I’m gonna bundle up and tomorrow is gonna be a rest day, I might go out on Saturday to get the Lego make and take from The Entertainer and see Mario Galaxy and Arco but we’ll see. Plus the newly found Doctor Who eps go live tomorrow too.
shadowhive: (Lothcat Sleepy)
The last few days my focus has again been off, mostly because of the damn sawing/drilling outside starting up again. (When will it end?) along with post gig tiredness,

Last night I did end up watching Ready Or Not cause of the sequel being out. What amused me though was I got the blu ray cause it wasn’t available anywhere (and discounted) but then last night I found it was both on tv (on film 4) as well as on Disney+. Ah well.

I did enjoy it though, it was mostly a fun time with incompetent rich people getting outsmarted and dying. I. Hopefully I can see the new one soon, though I’m not sure when (causa Megacon then 5sos). I did consider seeing it today as my usual two film thing but decided not to.

Today I went to see Project Hail Mary. I was gonna go in the morning to avoid more sawing, but I woke later than expected (15 minutes before I’d have had to leave) and just didn’t feel up to going right away. I was thinking of just going another morning, but did decide to see it on the second showing (part to get out cause I got riled up by mum being bitchy).

Trailers were mostly films I’d already decided I’m seeing: The Odyssey, The Mandalorian And Grogu, Super Mario Galaxy, plus a Supergirl one which I’d not seen. There was also a Hunger Games trailer and, bar going ‘is that him from the Long Walk?’ I’m eh about it. I’ve not seen the films and I dunno how they’ve gone on so long. But then again maybe if I saw them I’d see why? I dunno.

Anyway!

Before I go into thoughts, beware these will be slightly spoilery, especially since this is a new film (but I’m trying to keep it just with stuff seen in trailers). But! BeforeI get to thoughts I’ll simply say this: if you’re thinking of going to see this, go see it. I know it’s long (over 2 and a half hours) but it is so worth it.

Honestly it’s one of those films that’ll be the top ones of the year (joining Iron Lung, Cold Storage and Kangaroo).

But onto thoughts, which are under this.

Gonna snug now, then tomorrow it’s the seapeekay randomathon tomorrow. I might do a music post but we’ll see if my brain can fic some too.
shadowhive: (Alex Emo)
Past few day have mostly been low energy days, mostly spent playing Pokopia (I’m working through the third area now and this game is just so big already it’s crazy). So far in the game I’ve learned electricity, moving water, more transform abilities and, most recently, cooking to boost abilities. There’s still move areas to unlock (I dunno how many, at least two?) but I dunno when I’ll be able to access them.

(I need to get back to requiem sometime)

Other than that I managed to fic a bit (on one day, randomly) which is at least something. I hoped to do more to it but I got sidetracked and unfocussed.

Seapeekay has announced he’s gonna be at a con in Birmingham this month which… ugh. This and next month are the worst timing for something like that (this month causa gigs) but I do wanna try and go. The schedule got announced Friday and he has two panel things one say so I’m gonna try and hit that, but we’ll see.

Yesterday I decided I was able to go and see a film so it’s film thoughts time. I pretty much only went to the cinema in town. The shopping street is partly closed off now cause refurbishment to the Center has finally started after signs being up for months. Who knows how long it’ll take or if it will be worth it. I did pick a plushie up from Asda cause it was discounted but that was it.

I went to see Hoppers and How To Make A Killing.

Trailers
Seen before are Super Mario Galaxy, California Scheming and Arco.

Minions And Monsters: this honestly looks really fun! The minions summon Cthulhu, I’m not kidding that’s a scene in the trailer and that alone has sold it on me.
Toy Story 5: short thing, dunno if I’m sold on the concept though.
Magic Faraway Tree: A new trailer, seemingly dealing with later parts of the story. I’m kinda curious about it, might see if there’s something else. (I feel there’s a lot I wanna watch these next weeks) It feels like a fun watch
Devil Wears Prada 2: I watched the first film on tv forever ago and rememebr it being ok, I don’t think I’ll see it as the trailer hasn’t sold it. Might be a ‘see if on tv’ film.
Michela: Micheal Jackson biopic, feels like it’ll be well done but I’m indifferent to biopic sin general so…eh
The Drama: seems like the story of a couple only the guy finds out something about the girl and it derails the whole thing. Again kinda indifferent about this. It feels it hinges on what the ‘thing’ is, the trailer shows reactions to it but not what it actually is. Is that wise? Who knows
Project Hail Mary: new trailer, again looks like later parts of the film and ahh the lil alien guy! I do really wanna see this.

Anyway onto the films. I could have watched them either way around (they had similar showing times with equal gaps between them), but I went with Hoppers first.

Next cinema trip might be Project Hail Mary (maybe with Ready Or Not) or if I decide to go to the Bring Me The Horizon gig they’re showing. Either way I’ll know when the listings go live.

When I got back I found out I’d missed a package but I’ve got nothing coming. All that’s due soon is the Doctor Who season 21 boxset but that’s not even marked as sent yet.

Night time was low energy. But yay qsmp started again. I didn’t see much cause I got timings wrong, but what I saw (and clips on my for you) was it’s already very gay. Which we low, we love all the yaoi both returning and new.

In the night I wasn’t gonna watch anything but ended up watching Bodycam on shudder.

Now I’m gonna bundle up, watch the Paralympics closing and maybe watching Clown In A Cornfield or fic

Then tomorrow… ugh mums annoying friend is coming which ugh. I might try and see if I can use the book tokens mum got from the library cause I forgot them yesterday but today is the last day so it might be useless.
shadowhive: (Teacake Cute)
Update post time.

Tuesday night was the last good ship murder which ended up being… depressing.

Wednesday we went down to Home Bargains to get some stuff that didn’t come with the food shop. I went in Game beforehand and got a Xenk figure, which was finally discounted! (And some Pokémon cards) it’s funny I find him after I switched in the Dungeons Of Dragons blu ray (but haven’t watched yet). In Home Bargains, ironically, was something I’d hoped to get from Game, some lil buildable ghost Pokémon which are very cute.

Thursday was an odd day. The replacement xbox memory card came and it works! I was worried that it was the slot that was the issue so I’m glad it wasn’t. (So now it’s just a matter of reinstalling things.) I built a Lego set I got I’d got with the creel house (a flying moon car which is pretty cool!) and watched two more traitors Ireland eps (it’s so chaotic).

Then I just went… blank. I couldn’t settle on doing anything. For about three hours I just switched between things and sat there, not wanting to do or watch anything, I went… blank. It’s been a long time since I’ve been like that and it was really annoying.

Eventually I did settle on watching a thing, an episode of Found Footage the series (pretty good for a short thing) but then just went to bed.

This morning I was still feeling a bit bleh so didn’t even wanna try focussing on uni stuff. It did fade after a few hours lying in bed.

After noms I went out to town, glad that it wasn’t raining.

I did some wandering around before the cinema. I managed to get a Pokémon boxset and Weapons blu ray from Asda, plus they had the Lego Christmas thing I’d seen in game and missed out on. Then I went in primark and got Dustin’s hellfire tee, along with a reduced Squawk sweater. And smiths had the Game Changers book so I grabbed that too. (I also got a drink from there and it was awful)

(And speaking of Pokémon, Fire Red and Leaf Green are coming to switch next week though I’m baffled that they announced it now and not during the Pokémon presents thing then)

Then I went to the cinema to see Cold Storage and Send Help.

Trailers first as always.

Obsession: Same Trailer as before
They Will Kill You: First time seeing this trailer and I’m very sold on it! It’s about a woman starting a job in a building, only it turns out it’s a pretence and the building is a trap to sacrifice her (only she can kick ass)
Ready Or Not 2: First time seeing this too. I’ve not seen the first one, though it was mentioned on horror’s greatest but this made me wanna watch it. This looks fun and Elijah Wood and Sarah Michelle Gellar!
How To Make A Killing: This one looks fun too, I’d seen something about it when I was having waffle fries and after seeing the trailer I do wanna see it
The Bride: a new trailer (I think, it feels different than the last one) and it does look pretty good.
Scream: more a spot than a proper trailer. I’m of two minds about it.
Passenger: not heard of this and I am intrigued, it gave me a similar energy to a fake documentary q ep.

So ye a lot of films I’m now more curious about/wanna try and see.

Thoughts on films ahoy.

Since today was the pass renewal date (and I didn’t do this for the last one) he’s the last two months of the cinema pass.

Month 6: December 20th - January 20th
13: Anaconda
17: The Boy And The Heron, Labyrinth

This was a quiet month, the quietest so far. Mostly that’s cause of the holidays but also cause of the weather and ice. But that does make the order of favs feel easy: Labyrinth, Anaconda, The Boy And The Heron.

Month 7: January 20th - February 20th
23: Return To Silent Hill
30: Another World (+ q and a), Iron Lung
14: Looney Tunes The Day The Earth Blew Up, Kangaroo

This month was more like normal. I can’t really separate my favs, which are Iron Lung and Kangaroo which couldn’t be more different. Then I’d say it’s Another Workd, Return To Silent Hill and then Looney Tunes.

***

This weekend is gonna be mostly resting, maybe watching Dungeons And Dragons (or The Beauty, or Heated Rivalry) and the Winter Olympics closing ceremony. (And maybe finally do the next Feb stuff I love post cause I’ve been so tuned out lately but we’ll see.)

Hopefully too I’ll start the Voyager game and fic but…
shadowhive: (5SOS Micheal Red)
So yesterday I had intended to go to town to see Whistle and Send Help, but that didn’t end up happening cause I woke up in the morning and it was raining, and raining hard. Another storm hit and stayed around all day so that wasn’t happening.

I think cause of the weather (and it messing up my plans) I was low energy all day. I didn’t do much, though I did watch Seapeekay’s stream, cuddle Midna and watch the Winter Olympics (or rather half watch).

That did mean though I watched team go get our first medal! We got a gold in the skeleton bob! The thought of it is so terrifying down a track (?) on what’s essentially a tray fast first. I can’t imagine doing it myself but it was awesome to see how fast they went (and yay our guy getting the gold!)

It’s tour fair this weekend and there was Mandalorian And Grogu merch reveals which look cool. We finally have a name for Sigourney Weaver’s character (Colonel Ward) and it looks like she gets to fly an x-wing! Also there’s cute lil guys and a hot new unnamed droid.

Last night, after going on Dead By Daylight, I watched the first ep of The Beauty which seems pretty good so far. The hottest thing Evan Peters has done so far is speak French fluently. Plus I’d no idea till the credits that it’s based on a comic which is pretty cool.

Today the weather was much better. I had considered going to the cinema today I’d the weather had been bad yesterday but when I woke I wasn’t feeling it too much. Until mum (whips I must’ve mentioned it too) called me up and I felt that I should.

So I went. I didn’t do much in town, I posted off my package, checked in smiths for stickers (alas none) and found the record store that’s getting record store day (alas I didn’t have chance for a proper look, maybe next time). They are getting Sleep Token’s one though yay!

So it’s half term here which I guess is why there’s only showings of horror films in late afternoons/nights this week. So despite wanting to see Whistle and Send Help yesterday I was unable to see either today (if it wasn’t for MCC I might have but…) so instead I saw Looney Tunes and Kangaroo, which have the complete and total opposite vibes to what I’d hoped to see yesterday

(I am considering doing a night trip to see them both, but I’m hoping they’ll be showing on Friday so I can see one with Cold Storage.)

Trailers, just gonna do nee to me cause some (The Magic Faraway Tree, Hoppers, are ones I’d seen before)
Arco - looks pretty and I’m kinda curious about it
The Land Of Sometimes - Looks like a fun little thing and the titular land looks pretty

Thoughts on both ahoy.

On the return train back I read the Ghostwatch article in sfx. Apparently there’s a new blu ray version coming which is what the article is about (it ends saying it’s getting a release soon in Australia which seems odd). One thing that’s cool is they’ve got ceefax subtitles that they retrieved from recorded tapes. I had no idea that tapes had that stuff in recordings!

I got some cheap stuff from the co-op, then the Lego Star Wars magazine from somewhere else, before coming home and now I’m flop watching The Masked Singer/MCC. I might watch something tonight but who knows what.

I still need to do the week 2 of the stuff I love too oop. I might have done it yesterday if I wasn’t so drained.
shadowhive: (Ashton Blood on the drums)
So this is the inevitable film post which is gonna cover 4 films, though the first two more briefly.

The films are: Until Dawn, The Rift, Another World, Iron Lung. First two under this cut, second two a little later

Yesterday the weather was fine, not bad like I feared (causa the weather app) so I went to town.

Before heading out mail came which was something mum ordered but also the micro sd for the switch 2 huzzah I can game more and take screenshots again! Also there was the new Funko of Will which was meant to come Wednesday so that was a surprise. He looks so cool using his powers. (And in town I wandered round and got the new Vecna)

So onto the films! (Most of this written last night at the station)

Today’s been a low energy day since I came back after midnight, but I did catchup on some stuff (Would I Lie To You, Death In Paradise, QI XL) but the main thing for today was the film I won from sfx arrived! I had to chase it up earlier in the week but it’s here.

It’s so funny that my second 4K film (after Trick R Treat) is this completely random film I know nothing about. I’m curious though and will likely watch in a few days. It is a pretty cool cover though

Though I’m gonna watch Ranboo’s watch of Marble Hornets and maybe poke my brain (and watch Horror’s Greatest maybe)
shadowhive: (4th Doctor Jelly Baby)
So I had hoped, again, to get more posts out but alas my brain has been too sidetracked which is annoying. (Maybe I’ll have another up before the night’s up but we’ll see, more likely tomorrow)

Monday ended up being annoying cause of mum’s firmed coming, which meant I ended up going to town to put money in the bank. On the plus side it meant I got a Will figure from Morrisons (it was the last one and discounted) but still no stickers or the b and m stuff I was hoping to get. But b and m did have some of the new Lego poly bags and I did get some stuff from Iceland.

Then I came home and of course she wants more stuff which.. Ugh. I hate that she’s like this. Then the next day some of the stuff came and one was a plant that was real (she expected it to be artificial, despite its description clearly saying it was live) and she called wanting to send it back then called again saying she changed her mind which… ughh.

Also speaking of stuff coming neither of the things I won have arrived. I sent one a message asking if it had been sent but haven’t heard a reply yet. I fear it has ended up somewhere else, but as I’ve no idea and I dont like the idea of going around chasing it up with no idea where it could be.

But fast forward through the week (cause it was largely low energy) and we get to yesterday.

I ended up going to town to see Return To Silent Hill. I didn’t do much in town itself, I checked for stickers (nope), got a drink and a Disney book partwork, then the fantastic 4 comic and meal deal from Tesco (cause I had £10 credit to use).

When I got to the cinema the guy at the counter instantly knew I was coming for Silent Hill before I said it which was funny. He’s nice I’ve seen him before and I got to talking how I came then cause it was one of the two day showings they had (Monday is the other) and how I wanted to avoid late night ones, despite planning to come on Friday next week for teo late films. (Please weather don’t be cold like planned.

I had considered going for another film but there wasn’t anything I wanted to see that wasn’t clashing (I considered No Other Choice but doubted I’d have the focus).

Trailers
Obsession: Less a trailer, more a scene of a guy on a phone. It seems like regular customer service until he starts talking about a wish and if it was real love that he’d wished someone to love him. Not sure what to make of it from that alone though
Scream 7: A new trailer for me, but I kinda lost focus on scream after hearing how two of the actresses were treated. It looks like it could be good but I dunno.
Whistle: One I’ve seen before and it looks pretty good I might see it
Cold Storage: my beloved, I really am so hyped for this. Like honestly it’s the film I’m second most excited for (which says a lot considering it’s a Star Wars year)
Send Help: felt like a new version of the trailer, not sure if I’ll see it, we’ll see
Primate: one of those trailers that’s like ‘we put cameras on a crowd to see how they reacted’ trailers. I’m still eh about it though.

Anyway onto Return To Silent Hill.

Next cinema trip should (hopefully) be Friday for Another World and Iron Lung.

Speaking of films there’s a trailer for Masters Of The Universe and I’m really into it. Like I’ve never seen He Man or anything but it has convinced me to check it out. It has a bit of a guardians vibe to it. And yeah hit guy in a skimpy outfit is always a plus.

When I got home the new SFX was here (a surprise it’s not out till next week) but ah! It feels very relevent to my interests cause there’s several articles one after another that goes: Cold Storage, Ghost Watch, The War Between The Land And The Sea, Stranger Things. So I looking forward to reading those things. (And also the Hawkins Horrors book came cause I ordered it with stuff mum wanted to get an offer. I hope my ability to book read returns from the war.)

Last night was the Traitors finale and ahhh. I’m not gonna say more but I fully expected it to go differently especially after Thursday’s round table. (It’s so funny they didn’t have to use that tie break thing before and this season they used it twice after first using it in the celeb one)

Today I decided to finish off the Doctor Who boxset by watching The Seeds Of Doom.

Now I’m finishing The Masked singer (the wrong person was unmasked damnit), then will watch the next Seven Dials and the Seeds Of Doom special features (and maybe other stuff).

An attempt at returning to posting cause I failed the last days doing the things I wanted.

First off the Animal Crossing update is live and I managed to find my game to go on it. It’s been so long I’ve honestly forgotten some of the stuff (I need to look up gyroid fragments cause I’ve honestly forgot what they were) but it has been good going back on it. I’m glad there’s new Splatoon and Zelda items and I’ve been slowly ordering the latter, I now have majora’s mask on which was always my go to think to wear. And I’m so glad for the storage increase so I can clear stuff up. I might redo some parts of my island (it’s currently a mass of flowers) but I’m not sure what I’ll do yet.

As for the new stuff I like the hotel and the tourists wandering around the island is a cute idea. I’m just worried that it won’t be enough to keep long interest (I think there’s only 8 rooms in the hotel to design plus a vip). Maybe there’s other secret features and a long list of items to get from there but…

Thursday night had a Resident Evil showcase which felt too short and kinda pointless. Two of the big things, a Resident Evil concert and amiibo weee met with ‘more info on those soon’. They didn’t even confirm what the amiibo would be (I’m assuming Leon and Grace but..). I am tempted to get game on switch 2 cause if that though once there’s confirmation.

Friday announced the new Lego set finally, the final battle with ganon from ocarina if time. It’s a smart move and looks nice (especially Ganondorf) but I wish there was some of the castle.

In an attempt to distract myself I built the Lego set I got from the sale before new year, which came Tuesday, it was the animal crossing dodo airlines set. It’s like most of the AC sets, annoyingly simple, but the plane is really nice. I just wish it had both of the dodos instead of just the pilot.

Yesterday was a town trip to the cinema. The stuff I’d hoped to do in town was mostly a failure, Tesco didn’t have stuff I was going to get, the Christmas Lego in game I saw in game Tuesday was already gone, smiths still didn’t have stranger things stickers. (Have they really underestimated demand or is distribution terrible?)

On the plus side Smyths did get the Dustin Funko in so I was able to get him (my face when I saw he’d come back in stock the other day I was so glad) and I did get my click and collect from Primark (a tee and jacket) so that was a plus.

(And on the ither plus side there was a cute lil squirrel at the bank by the station)

At the cinema there was a poster for Cold Storage whcih made me squee a bit. I’m so seeing that on release day. Plus the cinema is getting Iron Lung! I hope they add extra times (same for Return To Silent Hill this week) but hopefully I can see it.

Trailers were a few I’d not seen before.
Hoppers: a new trailer showing more of what it’s about, so I’m a bit more curious
Goat: felt too short to form an opinion
Stitch Head: looks really cute, made me laugh
Kangaroo: made me squee cause kangaroo
Looney Tunes The Day The Earth Blew Up: !!! Looney Tunes on the big screen and out the same day I’m gonna be seeing cold storage?? Please have showings that don’t clash.

Thoughts on films (The Boy And The Heron and Labyrinth under the cut)

After the cinema I went one stop extra on the train to go to the outlet cause I had a birthday code that needed using at the Lindt store (I had till today to use it which was annoying) the. I just came home and flopped.

I did manage to watch the first ep of Seven Dials before tiredness and headache set in. It was really good though it is strange seeing an Agatha Christie adaption after I’ve read the book (with the others I read last year most were Poirot’s that I’d seen the eps of) so it was strange to hear names and go ‘ah! Them!’ There has been a few changes so I am curious what else it’ll do. But so far it seems reallly good.

Also yeaterday the gingerbread Lego AT-AT came, which had been meant to be a Christmas present. I probably would’ve left it a few days but mums friend is coming tomorrow and as it was a joint thing with her and mum I figured I should do it today. It looks nice and it is different. I feel because of how fast it sold out (and stayed that way) that there’ll do another gingerbread Lego thing this year but what I dunno.

This week there’s mums annoying friend coming tomorrow then Friday is Return To Silent Hill (but only if they add a better time I don’t wanna miss the traitors finale) and then I wanna finally watch Seeds Of Doom in the weekend. But we’ll see.
shadowhive: (Will Pretty)
So there’s gonna be a few posts in coming over the next days, but this is mostly a standalone one.

First things over the last few days since the last update. I’ve had an odd bit of luck because I’ve won two competitions! One was an SFX one on twitter, winning a film called The House With Laughing Windows. I know nothing about this film so did it on a whim (apparently it’s an Italian Giallo film, I’ve only ever saw one of those) so I’m curious! I also won an Anaconda goody bag from the cinema I go to (on insta) so that’s pretty cool! Hopefully both will come soon.

The week has been mostly spent inside, because the weather has been too bad to go out (mum wouldn’t let me go with her to walk Naryu and then a few days she wouldn’t go herself) but thankfully rain has washed the snow away (and not become ice).

Being inside has meant I’ve been mostly Lego building. I got the Lego Creel House and it has been a big project (22 Lego bags, though the last three were for the car and the van). It is an impressive set, it’s got five main rooms (plus an attic) and it has a pretty cool split apart function. I can’t help but wonder if it was designed for season 4 and midway through they were like ‘make everyone in their season 5 fits’. I’ll be taking some more pics tomorrow and posting on insta then so stay tuned.

Also! Heated Rivalry came out Saturday. I only watched the first ep (cause mood and focus was so off this weekend) but it was really good and I see the appeal because some, Shane and Ilya just have instant chemistry and I already wanna see more of them. (I feel I’ll learn nothing about hockey but they sure do like blowing each other)

Today I went to town to see Anaconda. I had hoped to see it last week but the ice and fall stopped that, then I won the comp so I felt I had to (I was gonna try regardless) and it seems this is the last week for it. But first!

I had hoped to get some sale things in town but alas I had no luck. It’s sad that the Primark stranger things section is much reduced (it was two full walls, not there’s just… four tees). I might look on the site and do a click and collect order. Also there are NO stranger things stickers anywhere, not in Smiths, Tesco, the co-op or spar. (Please if anyone spots them let me know I’ve not seen them since getting the album)

So what I was intending to get was… not around. But I did go into a clearance store. I was gonna see if they had a switch game I saw when I looked last time but alas it wasn’t there. What was there was a Lego set, Boba Fett’s throne room that was half price and discontinued about a year ago. So I got it. Mostly cause it included Fennec Shand who’s a total badass. So ooop now I have something else to build

(And a discontinued Animal Crossing set I ordered in the sale came when I was out so I have that too, oop)

I did get some stranger things blind boxes cause that’s all I saw and ahh Steve was in one. My boy!

Before the film there was some trailers and two stood out. I’d seen a Project Hail Mary one before and was kinda curious but this new one Ahs definitely made me wanna see it cause there’s an alien friend! Then there was Cold Storage which I was already sold on (especially cause it has Joe Kerry playing a loser) but I wasn’t sure if we’d get a release, but a few days ago the cinema confirmed it so ahhh! It’s coming out next month and I’m totally seeing it.

Usually I do try and see two films when I go to the cinema but the only ones I was maybe curious about were much too long (and would’ve clashed with Anaconda as a result) so I just saw it. Thoughts under the cut.

Next cinema trips should be Saturday (for The Boy And The Heron and Labyrinth), next z Friday (for Return to Silent Hill), then the following Friday (for something called Another World, with a live q and a with the director which sounds pretty cool).

Now I’m gonna rest, maybe fic and watch Good Ship Murder (so stay tuned for more posts tomorrow oop)

Also! The Animal Crossing update is this week! I’ve not been on my island in forever so I’ll need to find the game again (I did a few weeks back but have forgotten the safe place I put it😭) I’m excite for the Zelda stuff.

So this is a late one, oops. I blame things being stressful/distracting. Which is also why there’s some things here that aren’t done.

But yeah November ended up being stressful so I lacked focus to read or fic which was irritating. (And this month is similar).

But having said that I did manage to finish some shows! The new Futurama season, season 2 of Wednesday and vol 1 of Stranger Things season 5. The last two have given me so many thoughts and Futurama is always fun to watch.

I need to get back to the Doctor Who run of season 13, I still have Brain Of Morbius and Seeds Of Doom to watch, both of which I’m looking forward to. And I’m glad to finally watch the Sonic 3 blu ray and finally seeing It (and Thanksgiving too).

And, of course, Frankenstein was a cinema highlight (if you haven’t go see it! It son Netflix now) and I also loved Predator Badlands so many.

With Shudder I started the second season of Horror’s Greatest, though honestly I’m not a fan of animal attack stuff. I guess it’s cause I’m an animal love I just don’t vibe with it. Having said that I think the wildest one was something about worms attacking people that looked so wild cause ??

And speaking of roundups…

Month 5: November 20th - December 20th
3: Wake Up Dead Man, Zootropolis 2
10: Five Nights At Freddie’s 2, Pillion

Month 5 of the cinema pass has just been two trips, but back to doubling up with them. I think my order of them is Zootropolis 2, Five Nights At Freddie’s 2, Wake Up Dead Man and Pillion. Though they are pretty close. (And Wake Up is technically the better film, but I’m more likely to rewatch Freddie’s)

***

Last night I had hoped to do stuff, but after watching some things with mum and doing a little on ControlI ended up just getting absurdly tired. I think having mulled wine didn’t help, as it made my head a little hazy.

But right now I’m sat getting Midna cuddles which is good, then I can hopefully fic and do stuff later. (And it’s winterfest on Fortnite so hopefully the freebies this year are nice)
shadowhive: (Joshua Pretty)
Today has been a busy day but first.

As I mentioned in the last post the library stint yesterday was quiet and I mentioned to mum about getting the tree sorted. I was saying it in the sense of ‘we’ll do it Saturday’ but mum took it to mean ‘we’ll get it down yesterday’. Cue me lugging the thing down after the food shop came, opening the box and getting it out… only to find the stand for it is nowhere to be seen.

I think we’d boxed it last year, forgot to add the stand and it got put with other things but do I know where they are? Nope. So we have the tree box where it would go cause I didn’t have the energy to mess with it. (Mums genius idea? Sort it while food was cooking and obviously that went wrong)

Sigh.

Today started with sorting out an order for mum (the gingerbread Lego that’s meant to be for Xmas, but it’s on back order, but at least doing it now got a freebie) then mums friend came, ostensibly to bring Xmas stuff but of course she wanted stuff ordering too ugh.

Mail came today too, the new Stranger Things annual (which I got under half price!) which looks really good on my flick through! There was also God Is A Bullet, the blu ray with hot Garrett Wareing (which I was told to expect by Jan 22) so I hope it’s good (and works!). Then when I came back Doctor Who books were here (I got some 2 for £5 deals from zavvi, which are mostly hardbacks so oop sorry mum that you had to move them).

Today I went to town, the town part was pretty short. I looked in smiths for the new stranger things stickers but they’re not out yet, but I did get a Stranger Things thing from b and m (the box that I lost when I lost my bag the other month) but they didn’t have the snack pack or bag alas.

I went into Smyths but alas they didn’t have the stranger things funkos I was looking for (even Vecna which was listed on the site, but I guess he was on the high shelves hidden) but I did get the Lego happy plants though (look how cute!). I also got the Frankenstein art/making off book which was a real bargain from Asda (less than half off!). I had a little flick through and it looks beautiful.

None of the trailers were interesting so I will just jump right into the film talk. (Unlike the last film thoughts these will be more spoilery. So let’s get onto thoughts of Pillion and Five Nights At Freddy’s 2

That might be it for cinema adventures this month. I might see The Shining on one of it’s showings though but I’m not sure yet (it depends on mood, energy and weather) and I do wanna see Anaconda but that likely won’t be till early January cause it comes out just after Xmas.

Now though I’m gonna bundle up, watch stuff and might fic some.

Next days are low energy I might watch stuff (and the game awards is tomorrow) and I might go back to home bargains to get more Star Wars doorables (they’re so cute! And this set has some of my favs) but who knows if I’ll feel up to it. I also wanna make peanut butter booped cause I found recipes.

And there was something else but it’s gone out of my brain completely.
shadowhive: (4th Doctor Jelly Baby)
Tuesday was another library stint which ended up being tiring. Not cause of the library itself but mum. Last minute, after saying we’d not bring her, mum decided to bring Naryu as the ‘library dog’ which is fine, usually but Naryu got messy right before we got there so I had to take her back home (and she fought me every step cause it was me alone). So instead of walking there and resting I had to make the trip three times (and a fourth coming back) which just… ugh.

I did read the Stranger Things SFX article (just the main part, not the sections with the boys yet) which ahhh. I hadn’t intended to hold back reading it till after the season but any time I read the magazine (when travelling or at the hospital) I just read the short sections on other things. I’m so excite for the rest of the series. I also read another chapter of Halloween Party and it threw me off with the talk of computers and how they can cause bigger issues than people can. That was so surprising but so true.

Yesterday was the planned town trip, which was mostly to the cinema to see Wake Up Dead Man and Zootropolis 2. In between them (cause there was a gap) I went round town. I got the Hellfire Christmas sweater from Primark (it was on sale and I wasn’t sure if it was for Black Friday, but it’s not so yay! (here is what it looks like.) I also got the WQSK sweater, a hellfire bag (actually 2 by mistake, damnit), some nail polish and the stranger things body butter they have. I also went in bm and got two stranger things blind boxes (I am a bit annoyed pricing wasn’t on the shelves so they were more than I thought they would be) but I got Will and Vecna, and the Vecna seems to be special cause he’s clear red plastic instead of the image on the checklist.

But main thing was cinema.

I’m not gonna go over all the trailers, but there was something called the magic faraway tree which looks pretty good (though it has Andrew Garfield as a dad of children which feels wrong even though he’s probably old enough). There was also Moana and… I don’t get why making life action versions of animated stuff is so necessary but having said that it does, look really nice and I’ll probably see it.

When I got home mum had, as she tends to do, messed around with stuff. I swear she does this because she’s left unattended so no one can stop her. It wouldn’t be so bad but the things she does are often things that are acknowledged to require two people and yet she does them alone (even when we agree to do things together she’ll start them when I’m doing uni stuff). And it’s just so… ugh. But I was too tired to be anything but annoyed.

(And we also had a repeat of the record player fixation, as The Mousetrap is coming to Birmingham so mum insisted on getting the tickets to it right away which just felt like a rush, especially since we’ve not got the Death On The Nile ones yet)

The new Doctor Who magazine had arrived while I was gone and I’ve not read it yet but it does have free art cards from the new show which look nice as well as an audio freebie (a download of Seas Of Titan, a ninth Doctor sea devil story I’ve wanted for awhile). A quick flick through shows it’s got a lot of Sea Devil/Silurian stuff which I’m excite to dive into. The War Between The Land And The Sea starts Sunday and my optimism about it has been pretty low (mostly cause of how the last season of Who ended up) so I feel it’ll either be awesome, will be good but then end badly or just irritate me. Which sucks, cause I love sea devils so you’d think I’d be excite to see them back in such a big way but… (I’m also not hyped by how the main one’s face is so… human. One of the whole point of the Silurians/sea devils was that they didn’t look human)

I also saw a game I’d been really interested in, called Viewfinder, had came to switch and with a huge launch discounted do I had to get it. I love perspective games like this so I’m glad I can play at some point.

Unfortunately I completely crashed. It was a mix tiredness due to the long day, depression which has been coming in waves lately and my weaker eye just aching like crazy to the point of annoyance. Ugh. The latter is still aching a bit this morning so hopefully it’s not an all day issue.

(November round up post is coming though… at some point.)

Edit: Ahh! The next Doctor Who boxset has been revelled! Season 21! So that’s the last of the fifth Doctor eps with loads of fun/cool looking special features.
shadowhive: (Awsten Knife)
So after the last post I did see Welcome To Derry and ahh! I’m so glad I saw the first It film last week cause that made things hit so much better than they otherwise had (especially the last scene). This ep confirmed that Charlotte Hanlon is the best of the adult main characters. (And also that Taniel is the most pretty man in a Derry and so based) bring on next week’s ep!

Yesterday was the library stint and I read a few more chapters of Halloween party (said party has happened, a body found and Poirot introduced), then then rest of the day was mostly low energy.

Today was the town trip. My mp3 player is so odd. I put the member versions of Everyone’s A Star! as seperate files but the player has plays them as one which is so puzzling. And annoying cause putting the album on plays every song four times as result (bar bonus tracks)

Befroe the cinema I grabbed a drink then went in Asda and ahh! They had a plushie of scoops ahoy Steve! He was the only one there but alas the queue was too long and time was getting on. I did go back later though and got him.

Between films I got noms, using points that were due to expire, then went in a few places but didn’t get much. I did get the It Chapter 2 blu ray (cex had it filed under S instead or I which was why I couldn’t find it) and I picked the jacket up though haven’t tried it on yet. The Walsall primark does seem to have most of the Stranger things stuff too which is pretty cool (bar the jacket) so maybe I’ll get something later.

There were a load of food trucks/stalls along the Main Street (I dunno if it’s an event or what) but on the way to the station I saw one had churros so I had to get them. They were really nice and I saved some for mum when I got back.

New cinema day means trailers! And quite a few were new to me, yipee! (And smushing them all together)

Whistle: this was a very vibes based trailer, but it looks pretty cool from that. I’m curious.
Send Help: At the start of it I was like ugh, but then as it went on it got better. I don’t think I’d make the effort for it though
Five Nights At Freddie’s 2: A new trailer which is pretty cool, I really need to rewatch the first)
The Mandalorian and Grogu: this one wasn’t new but I still squeed when I see it!
Mortal Kombat II: my main thoughts on this was there’s a second one? And also this was attached to a 12a film? It looks like it might be good, but again I’m not sure I’m sold on it (even though it has the guy for Ring in it)
Anaconda: this looked so bonkers and I can tell it’s gonna be a wild time. It’s actually sold me on it.
Primitive War: I read a go review of this at the station ironically. It’s basically Vietnam War+dinosaurs. It sounds like a wild concept but could be fun, though apparently that’s out in just over a week.

The first film was Keeper, which is a bit like Him, in that I saw trailers for it regularly so got intrigued enough to want to see it so was it good?

The second film was Predator Badlands! I’ve not actually seen the mainline a predator films, just Alien vs Predator (I liked the first film but the second??) but the trailers made me so curious.

And since I’m not going to the cinema tomorrow that’s another month of the pass done.
Month 4: October 20th - November 20th
23rd: Black Phone 2
3rd: Frankenstein
5th: Shelby Oaks
19: Keeper, Predator Badlands

Five films this time which is pretty good considering. I think if I didn’t have the pass I’d have only seen one, maybe two. Again I. Glad the pass has let me take a chance on stuff and see stuff I’d normally not be able to or overlook.

Obviously my fav is Frankenstein, but Black Phone 2 and Predator Badlands are pretty equal I think, then Shelby Oaks and lastly Keeper.

I didn’t think I’d be seeing much for the next month but I think I’ll be seeing 5 things again: Wake Up Dead Man/Zootropolis 2, Five Nights At Freddie’s 2/Pillion and The Shining. The last one is a maybe, but I do wanna see it cause of Welcome To Derry which I didn’t expect.

***

When I got home I had a letter confirming Saturday’s appointment and ugh. At the bottom it says you can claim ‘a week’s free bus travel’ but only if you claim it 14 days before the appointment which is just so useless when I got 6 days warning. Ugh.

Also damnit Comic Con Birmingham announcing Jamie Campbell Bower with under a weeks notice. There’s no way I could go with the appointment draining me the day before (and lack of money of course) but damnit.
shadowhive: (Andy Bathing in blood)
Yesterday ended up, as I suspected after Monday, being a fairly lazy day. I didn’t do too much, just uni stuff and then flopping a bit.

It was the bake off finale and the result was predictable. (Mum wasn’t happy about that and thought one of the others deserved to win. Personally I thought having one person be star baker so often kinda took the fun out of it) Then we watched QI and I watched the Pokémon anime stream.

Last night though was odd. I just couldn’t settle and I dunno why. Maybe it’s cause there was a bit of a storm? But I dunno.

This morning I headed out to see Shelby Oaks. The trip to town was just to see the film so I went straight there. It’s a bit of a shame that this was the best time, every other showing was at about (or after) 8pm.

The trailers were the same as before (The Bone Temple, Keeper, Silent Night Deadly Night and Five Nights At Freddy’s 2) so you’ve already seen thoughts on them. However there was one I’d not seen and that was for Primate. And that is very much a no from me. It’s about a monkey that’s a member of a human family, only it goes feral and attacks people suddenly (seemingly cause something bit it). And, honestly, it just feels like it’ll be more upsetting than anything.

But anyway onto Shelby Oaks.

Next cinema adventure will be… I dunno when. I do wanna try and see Predator Badlands and Keeper but I dunno when. (If it wasn’t for the Stranger Things cafe I’d see badlands when I’ve got my gig next week)

And speaking of my gig ahhh James Marriott won’t Rock Sound award AND HAS HIS OWN COVER, (though damn I missed the signed posters, why do I keep missing signed posters of his?)

Anyway.

After the film I had 25 minutes before the next train so I popped in the Asda across from the cinema. There wasn’t too much interesting but as I was heading out there was a small Halloween section. I got a Hellfire Club glass which looks cool, plus some bags (2 Starnger Things, 2 Nightmare Before Christmas) which were nice. And on the way home I went in the co-op I got a Pokémon magazine that had spooky Pokémon to paint.

Tonight I’m gonna watch Planet Of Evil, the next ep from the Doctor Who boxset, then tomorrow is the trip out which will no doubt be so tiring.
shadowhive: (Steve His slutty lil outfit)
So this is gonna be one of those rambly posts about watching stuff. First, Wednesday which I watched Sunday (specifically the ep Woe Thyself).

Second is Frankenstein which I finally saw yesterday, yipee!

Before getting into that the trailers:
The Bride! - This felt appropriate since the titular bride is a bride for Frankenstein’s creature. It looks like one of those films that could either be fun or terrible and I’m not sure which it’ll be.
Silent Night Deadly Night - I saw this before for Black Phone 2 and my thoughts of it are mostly eh. It’s something I might see if it’s on tv or streaming but I don’t feel I’ll see it
The Housemaid - gotta admit I’m kinda curious about this one, even though I can’t tell the tone exactly from they trailer, but it has Amanda Seyfried from Mamma Mia in (and apparently it’s based on a book)
Wake Up Dead Man - The next follow up to Knives Out and it looks pretty good, I love a murder mystery. I really need to watch Glass Onion before it’s out though. (I do feel bad that it’s called ‘a knives out mystery’ instead of a Benoit Blanc one though)

Lastly, and even more finally, is the last ep of Stranger Things.
