So as I mentioned in the last post I watched a Young Jedi adventures before doing anything else yesterday. It’s only the second ep, because I decided to wait for the Nubs plush before watching more. They were two nice eps and I enjoyed them both. However one of the main things was Nash (one of the main characters, the non-Jedi pilot) has two mums! That’s so sweet and so nice to see. I hope they show up in later eps (it was only a brief appearance) but it was still so nice.

Yesterday was also Eurovision! It was so fun, there were a lot of great performances from the summoning ritual of Moldova to the Xena like Norway to Germany and Australia bringing epic rock and whatever was Croatia (and then there’s us). I even ended up enjoying most of the big five performances which I usually don’t (bar Italy and us).

I also enjoyed the flag parade for including Ukrainian acts (another reminder, like the Eurovision party, that Ukraine send such great acts). And the interval was pretty wild too. Also it was strange seeing Graham onstage put also nice.

Of course the voting was a bit… insane. I’m honestly, HONESTLY baffled that Germany came in last. Like how did that happen? They put in such a great performance and as truly don’t understand why they were last when there were a bunch that should have been lower (although to be fair not many this year). Still I know that gained them new fans.

It ended up being between Finland and Sweden at the end, both of which were songs I enjoyed and voted for. It was clear the juries wanted Sweden but it was also clear the public wanted Finland. Sweden did end up winning out but I don’t blame people for hoping it had gone the other way.

(I also had to use the app to vote because Midna was curled up on me and would not move. So I hope that’s ent through.)

Yesterday and today I have been playing Zelda more. My goal was always to make a beeline for Prince Sidon (for extremely valid reasons!) however I’ve been distracted by shrines and such.I also kinda wanna go and hunt down the towers Oop (I even went exploring before unlocking the first tower on the main quest and needed to go back). I’m curious Togo to Kakariko and Hateno and it’s so obvious the game wants you to tackle Rito village first (as appealing as that is I wanna see my boy)

I’ve died a few times, mostly because I tried to take on a battle talus too early on. And there’s also some wild new enemies (including trees that randomly come alive?) some of the puzzles are clever though some I can’t quite figure out (and I really don’t like the wing things).

I might be done today (though I’m close to Heath so may get him first) so maybe tomorrow will be going to the domain.

I might watch The Time Monster later too but that’s the fourth time I’ve said that this week so…

This coming week (other than Zelda of course), I need to chase up about the appointment (which im not looking forward too, I’m covering a library shift so might read something (and dropping paperwork at doctors) and that’s food shop day (which needs to be added to tomorrow as I could only sort a basic one) and I wanna look at the open uni stuff to start sorting the next course (ugh), not to mention that there’s also the appointment about sorting the new glasses.

Ugh that’s so much stuff I feel tired just thinking about them.

So yesterday I ended up being up early again (ugh) but it meant I could, again, put more music on the new pod thing. I’m close to having all the main stuff on there I could need thankfully but it’ll still need a few more mornings,

While the music got copied over I decided to listen to one of the humble bundle Who audios I have. I’ve two bundles on there and I’ve only listened to a few before. YesterdayI settled on Destination Nerva, which was set on the Nerva beacon from Ark In Space and Revenge Of The Cybermen, although this was before all of that. (It was also set right after Talons too.) I was ok, but ugh the Victorian guys were utter assholes even before being taken over by the infection (I’m glad it killed them). But it was nice to hear Leela again and she posed another interesting question about the tardis: why does it travel in time as well as space? The doctor didn’t really have an answer but acknowledged it wasn’t a FAQ he’d gotten.

We ended up backtracking my steps to see if I could find my glasses. I hoped it would help since I at least had an old pair I could see with. Alas no such luck. Either they ended up in some undergrowth, someone picked them up and took them (or handed them in somewhere) or they ended up in the road. The latter seems less likely though as I saw no sign of anything smashed. Ugh

We then we put around the reservoir and saw some baby animals! There were 3 ducklings, seven cygnets (miraculously as they supposedly went down the fast flowing water) and the baby geese were around too! They were so cute and fuzzy and aww. (We’d spotted them Wednesday and they must’ve just hatched because aww)

Today is Zelda day and I’d hoped to get so much done before it. I’d hoped having a date would help but alas… I managed not to do the stuff I hoped (a mix of finishing fic, reading, gaming and watching stuff) which is kinda bleh. In an attempt to actually do one of the things I intended I went back on Pokémon Violet and was able to finish all three of the games different paths.

The team Star path actually gave me feels and made me feel sorry for them, to the point where I hoped they wouldn’t disband and was glad that they didn’t have to. The Elite Four were pretty straightforward though what’s with that test thing at the start from the cute one? Also I did the battle with Arven who I managed to be harder than the elite four and champion though still not too hard now I’d trained a bit. All that’s left is Area Zero which I did start and got to the third waystation before getting too tired (maybe I’ll try and do more while waiting for the delivery of Zelda)

Also last night was Eurovision semi final 2, which we could vote in. Alas it felt weaker than the first 1 (is it just me or is that always the case with the one we vote for?) however there were some good songs that I did enjoy, especially in the second half, though als some didn’t get through. I’m glad that Australia, Austria and Belgium got through and Cyprus because he was hot. And I know there’s someone else I liked that got through but my head feels kinda fuzzy (possibly cause I drank some Oop).

I had thought about squeezing in the time monster before sleeping but didn’t. Instead I watched Taskmaster which was fun as usual and then Quackity’s short stream which announced new people coming to the QSMP also there’s gonna be some French people whichll be joining in an event Tuesday. Hopefully they’re entertaining and I hope my mindset is better to watch streams soon too

I listened to the new Lovejoy ep but only this morning. Standouts (other than Call Me) is Portrait Of A Blank Slate and Scum though I can’t help but be annoyed at Spotify ruining the flow with ads. You’re meant to get ad free music for 30 minutes when you listen to them but they were playing after every single song and they’re not 30 minutes long! Ugh get it together.

Anyway I’m gonna head down now and wait for mail, maybe go on Pokemon and see if I get a promised update from Evri (I’m not hopeful)

Like I mentioned on my last post thesis one is gonna be a bit more positive (though there’s still annoyances that’ll be later).

Yesterday I managed to start reading some of the free comic book day stuff. I read the first 3 which were the ones I picked.
*The Umbrella Academy one is a prelude and, as such it’s a tad… incomprehensible and I’m sure it’ll make more sense in the context of the new series. There was also a Witcher short which was more self contained and worked better
*The Star Trek one also a prelude and it made me curious about what was going to happen next (especially because of the surprise appearance of Alexander). Like TUA one it also had a second comic, a preview of a Lower Decks one (I didn’t realise it had a comic) which managed to catch the humour of the show so we’ll and I wanna see more)
*Lastly was the Animal Crossing one which was much more silly than the others but still funny (I wonder if it’s a prelude too) and, like the others there was also another one in the form of a Kirby short (surprisingly beauty and the beast inspired). This one was also in a manga layout.

I also watched the next two Star Wars visions shorts. The first one was pretty but also depressing. The second one is probably gonna be one of the favs of this bunch because it’s so so fun and funny (no surprise as it’s by Aardman, the people that do Wallace And Gromit and Shaun the sheep).

It’s also Eurovision time so I’ve switched to the Eurovision playlist and there were two Eurovision shows on the tv last night which were both quite fun. I usually don’t know too much of the acts/songs before the semi finals so was surprised Sweden is sending Loreen (or Euphoria) to the contest this year, so I hope she does well (also their selection process is such a big deal there I wish ours was too). The first semi final is tonight so I’m excited for that.

I’ve done some dreamlight valley again and, again, I pm trying to speed run the star path quests which can be so annoying. I also finished the last of the second lot of Star Wars quests on Fortnite, the third are in a few days. I also need to try and get some wins on fall guys before the season changes at last.

I did start the next Who ep The Time Monster last night, but due to various things I didn’t see beyond the first part, maybe I’ll watch the rest later.

There should be a bunch of things coming this week.
*The replacement Doctor Who magazine which should come via regular post
*The Disney package coming via Evri… which they still don’t seem to know what’s happening with it which is worrying (it’s not like they can lose it it’s not exactly a small thing)
*The Las Nevadas merch which should come via post tomorrow (I’m still miffed about the customs which is horrendous)
*The Lovejoy ep (though I’m not sure how it’ll come)
*Zelda which should be here Friday (and yeah I’m still annoyed I missed the collectors one)

The big annoyance was mum yesterday. She lost her glasses and has been struggling with the ones we’ve had so we finally got her prescription a few days ago with the intent to order some glasses. Cept she’s been really annoying about them. Yesterday she wanted me to do them, shoving her kindle at me to do it (before I’d got the wallet or the prescription and then as I was sorting it out she went to do other things which is fine, but I needed to query things with her and she didn’t seem interested. After putting everything on hold and her being non committal about even getting them at all I left them and did my reading.

Then right before she was going to bed she was all ‘do me the glasses’. This was at about 10:30 as I was part way through the time monster and I was like ‘no I’m not doing these things when you go to bed if you want them you stay’ because I didn’t want to get her the wrong ones or anything. Cue her being annoying about it and acting like it was an unreasonable thing before conceding I was right, staying and doing it. But ugh it’s so annoying that she decides this stuff needs to be done at night instead of in the daytime when I had everything ready.

Ugh

Today I’ve been waiting for the Disney package in case it shows up beat it seems like it wont today and I’m so annoyed with it all.

Yesterday ended up being quiet the day and I’m not sure how to process some of the things but ah well.

The morning started with me actually managing to do some project stuff and I can actually see myself finishing it soon (I was gonna do some more this morning but there was something outside making a loud noise).

Then Monster Island decided to do a sale on cells so I was able to use the gems I’d stockpiled to get Super Dream and Dream (and later Sapnap). It’s taking two days for the super dream egg to be crafted and no doubt a similar amount of time for it to hatch but still! I expect George will join the sale today so I’ll have to work on getting gems for him too.

(As an aside one of the things to get gems is to do surveys and so many of them have more than male and female as options, at least 90% had a non-binary or other as an option, some even having both.)

We were short on cat food so I had to get some, which proved annoying cause I ended up lugging tins of stuff (not food but beans cause we’ve had trouble finding them) and it was pretty warm.

I briefly went on Lego Star Wars to do random stuff and then rested for a bit, cause Eurovision semi final.

But before that there were MCC announcements with five teams getting announced. I know which team I’m gonna be watching this year, because Foolish is doing his first MCC! And it’s with Tina! And Sapnap! Which means he has a good chance of doing well. Micheal’s on the team too and I like what I’ve seen of his streams, but I dunno if him and Tina have done MCC before.

The second semi final was pretty good and then was a few really good songs… which didn’t get through. I liked Georgia who were steampunky and I’m especially pissed about San Marino who deserved so much better. (A boa? A bull? Guys kissing? How did this not get through???) at least Finland got through with The Rasmus but some of the other choices were inexplicable. (Although I’m glad Australia got through if only because of the very Padme like outfit he wore)

But damn it’s so annoying San Marino didn’t get through, they deserved to be on the main show. They might’ve even won.

After that there was the Karl, Sapnap, Punz and Foolish streams together, the first of several apparently. Which is good because these first two weren’t super the best. But Karl did kiss Foolish a few times. And of course Sapnap’s stream was about food (and blindfolds? Which were clearly makeshift ones)

Of course the main thing about yesterday happened then, unrelated to the streams. A new MCR song, and new pics! Honestly I still can’t believe it’s an actual thing. Before I went to bed I tweeted that I thought it would turn out to be a mass hallucination but nope. It’s real and it’s so good. I don’t think it’s gonna be a one of, there’s gotta be an album to go with it right? I guess we’ll find out soon.

I wonder if they’ve done a song for the umbrella academy soundtrack, or for a trailer.

It seems to be the time for new music, Maneskin put out a new song, and there’s a new Black Veil Brides video but I’ve seen and heard neither. I did listen to the new Waterparks song and it’s… meh. It’s a shame but it is what it is.

Plan for the day? Watch Taskmaster, maybe Picard and see if there’s any streams later.

So tonight I watched the Eurovision film on Netflix.

I think one of the reasons I’d not watched it was because I was worried it would mocking us, the contest, Europe, the participants. However it seemed people seemed to like it so I decided to watch it cause I’m obvious in that Eurovision mood and you know what? It was pretty good.

It was so obvious that this wasn’t a mockery, that a hell of a lot of love went into it. There were so many songs for it, complete with stagings and they were all soo well done. Plus there was a sing off thing midway through which featured previous winners which was epic. I’m really so glad that it was made by people that obviously loved the contest.

So yeah if you’ve not seen it go see it.

I’m also pleasantly surprised that there’s not one, but two fics in the Maneskin tag on ao3 set after the contest win. I’ve read the first and it was so good and I’m gonna check out the second either before sleep or in the morning. (I hope there’s a Blind Channel crossover fic soon)

Last night I was so woozy it was annoying. My eyes were all achy to the point where I spent most of the night without my glasses on. And then it just went away, which was good but, ugh. I did watch the Rolling stone twitch with Awsten which was cute and Cody’s Resident Evil stream and he did the doll house which is so creepy.

Today I was woke with mum calling up to say that the jabs had been opened for more people, including my age! So I’ve got both appointments booked and the first is next Thursday which is good. I know I’ll feel better when I have it.

I did manage to do some uni this morning, doing one question (the second) while listening to a Eurovision playlist on Spotify.

There’s definitely a Hocus Pocus 2 and the original Sisters! are coming back, yay! I hope when it comes to Disney+ next year it’ll be for everyone.

It’s been another grey day so after mum came back from the library (with surprise booze) we watched Goblet Of Fire which I still think is the best Potter cause the hair. And we did manage to take the pup out… although it did rain.

Poor Midna’s had a funny tummy and has been sick. She seems to be a bit better now though. I wonder what caused it. She’s sat in the window now.

Tonight was the Eurovision semi final and I was looking forward to it because it’s the one we can vote in. It had a few artists that were pretty good, some that were ok and then there was Finland. Finland have sent a rock band again and they were awesome! Cute guys with long hair rocking out? Of course I was going to vote for them! Thankfully they got through though they left it till the last spot which was tense (also a+ for them during the voting having a sign with their number and on the reverse it said Play JaJa ding dong)

The interval act were pretty good, though they I missed the start due to voting. There was a guy dancing and really rocking a long skirt, and there was one on a bike… that obviously was looking in a mix of lust and awe. I seriously expected them to kiss.

The big five clips that they played were a mix of eh (France), ok (us) and good (Spain). I can see why my friend likes him, he’s cute and has a good voice. I felt so sorry for I eland cause they didn’t perform live due to one of their number testing positive (and them not wanting to play without him in solidarity) but they still got through.

I’m gonna watch Taskmaster on +1 and then Maxx has a stream. I might try to fic or game but it depends on how I feel.
