shadowhive: (Lothcat Cute)
So the last few days have been eventful so it’s time, again, for a general post.

So on Sunday I started watching The Residence. I saw a trailer for it on twitter about a month or so ago and I was instantly intrigued. It’s a murder mystery and someone has gotten killed at a large house while a party is going on downstairs. Which yeah, sounds like dozens of other murder mysteries, except this is no ordinary large house: it’s the white house.

I watched the first two episodes and, so far, it’s really great so far! I love the detective as she’s so quirky and has absolutely no respect for any of the guys trying to tell her what to do (or what not to do). The cast is also wild as there’s been a lot of people I’ve recognised (The FBI agent from Ant Man and Wandavision, Tilly from Star Trek Discovery, Jane Curtain from 3rd Rock from the sun, one of the guys from OG Charmed, hughJackman and Kylie Minogue! Oh and the guy that plays Moff Gideon in The Mandalorian is in it too.) I really love it and wanna watch more cause I wanna know what happened!

The rest of Sunday was kinda low energy but I did end up starting a game pass game, Planet Of Lana. It came to gamepass last year and I wanted to play it cause it looks so pretty but alas I got sidetracked. It really is so pretty though and there’s a cute lil guy called Mui who is like a lil black cat thing. It’s pretty good so far, though some parts are tricky.

I found out on insta that there’s gonna be an indie horror short film thing at a cinema in Birmingham (here’s the list) and I’m kinda tempted to check it out even though I dunno exactly where the cinema is and it’s on a library day. We’ll see if I do it (they’re also doing full showings of Twin Peaks which is kinda cool but they’re on Sundays)

There wasn’t gonna be any plans Monday, but then when I was looking at the tv guide I saw there was a film I’d wanted to see for awhile on. It was The Private Life Of Sherlock Holmes and I’d heard of it cause there’s a section at Loch Ness (which resulted in a prop being lost to the loch only to be found again a few years back). And honestly? It was a wild ride. It had Christopher Lee as Mycroft an opening story mostly unconnected to the rest (with Sherlock implying to someone that he was gay and Watson was his lover), a finale at Loch Ness and a closing scene that was so sad. (It’s on Sky Arts again Saturday afternoon.j I’m so glad I spottted the listing, though also so sad when I looked up later that there was intended to be more scenes to it but they got cut.

Since money, finally, turned up I decided to go to sainsburys this morning to look for eggs. As I posted on insta I did find some, in sainsburys and Aldi, but there really weren’t many options and it was mainly more expensive eggs left. M and S’s food also didn’t have anything which was a shame as I wanted to try some of their hot cross buns. I did get a lil Lego Yoshi and the new radio times from sainsburys though.

(Also Pets at home had the cutest lil Guinea pigs they were so adorable😭)

I did manage to get a Lindt eggfor mum though as thanks for all the issues, though the box could easily have been half the size it was. We also had dominos, which was good though I’m sure the price has gone up since we last had some.

Also today Elder Scrolls Oblivion has been remastered and was out today! It’s on game pass too so I might try it sometime but it’s 120GB thst means I have to figure out a way to make space (damn xbox and memory card things being so small)

Also today the local cinema put up the Episode III showing times and it looks like it’s only from Friday-Sunday which is a bit annoying. It’s also annoying it’s only one showing, 3:45 which means I can get there on bus, but have to walk back if I go. I’ll see what the weather is like, but I know Saturday is out cause of Doctor Who.

Anyway! I think that’s everything but I’m probably missing something super obvious.

So this past weekend has been very *flops uselessly*

Right after I did the round up post we went to go and pick up mums meds. We were only gonna go there and sainsburys but we went into TK Maxx and I’m glad we did! I picked up a few books, a haunted house book called Hellhouse, a nice hardcover of Sherlock Holmes and another one. If you have ever been into TK a you know the books are random and disorganised so I always look through everything in case there’s something relevant to my interests (I’ve found some really good Star Wars books that way) and to my surprise there was a Stranger Things book! And then I pulled it out to see which it was and it was Flight Of Icarus, the Eddie one! So of course I had to nab it. I dunno when I’ll read but I’ll definitely try to soon.

In Sainsburys mum got some clothes she’d wanted in the sale, then I got a cute lil Lego set with hedgehogs and the two Lego magazines I get. But ugh it was tiring.

That meant my focus was a bit off Saturday night, Seapeekay had an event but I only half paid attention and then I ended up just flopping after it.

I did put a Steve funko in my watchlist that night and woke to an offer of 20% off so off course I nabbed it. And the flayed Billy funko arrived too.👀 I also put two Eddie ones into my watchlist Sunday, saying I’d not get one till I’d seen him… cut to today and I’ve ordered one oops.i di really need to find the Henry one I picked up, it’s gone awol (likely cause mum moved it)

(I have a problem I even changed my Netflix icon from Diego to Steve.)

Fortnite also has the Stranger Things stuff back in and I’m puzzled again how they have Steve’s bat and Eddie’s spear but neither Steve or Eddie.

Sunday I ended up watching the last of the ITV Marple series and… it was ok. It was a bit slow and the actual murder didn’t happen until about two thirds in and it did pick up a bit after that. The thing is it’s like a few of the Marple eps, Marple herself isn’t really properly intergrated (she just keeps turning up! Even when the main guy we follow is on his honeymoon in Italy) so it wasn’t a surprise when I saw it’s one of the stories the series adapted that didn’t even have Marple in. I guess that’s why Poirot was so well done, the series adapted only all of the stories he was in without randomly inserting him into others.

I dunno what the Sunday thing will be now though, I guess we’ll see. Maybe I’ll get back to The Umbrella Academy or something else entirely.

I did indeed to watch Spree on Saturday, but cause I didn’t have the focus I switched it to Sunday. It is pretty good! It’s a solid concept and Joe Keery is really good as the main character (and yeah looks good in tone two scenes he’s bloody) and it’s so funny to see the actress that played Jen in Agatha All Along in another role. But damn most of the people Kurt killed on his spree (at least to start with) were really dicks.

I did look on ao3 to see if there was any fics from it and damn, so many are Stranger Things crossovers which isn’t a surprise really and I’ve added some into my marked for later cause it was 3 am.

Today was meant to be the phone appointment so we went out with Naryu and then waited.

And waited.

And waited.

The call was meant to be at 2:30, but there was no sign of anything. Mum eventually decided to chase it up and apparently they cancelled it and tried to call Thursday. Yeah the first day i was out all day since the biopsy. I checked the phone and they called twice in the morning but didn’t leave a clear message, so why didn’t they call again on the Friday? I dunno, but it’s another example of their uselessness.

They’re gonna call again tomorrow at 5 but it seems just to be a chance up and not any real answers but I’m not too surprised.

The plan tonight is to do some gaming and start Stranger Things season 4, though it depends on my focus and energy. My gaming is meant to be Elder Scrolls Online and Dreamlight valley both of which have events ending soon which I need to speedrun to finish which is annoying.

And speaking of gaming it’s so sad that Multiversus is ending soon. It was really fun and had such potentional but they fumbled it.

The hope for this week is:
*Go through the prompt lists d maybe add things
*The next ep of the rig
*Read more ABC Murders
*Find the Henry funko
*organise and add to icons
*hopefully Indiana Jones or Alan Wake

(Again I’m sure I’m missing something obvious)

So after a few stressful posts this is gonna be a more general thing of more fandom/media based stuff.

First off the other day I saw on the rusty quill twitter (who do The Magnus Archives/Protocol) that the last entry in the Rusty Fear contest they did had been posted. It’s a thing where people submit horror short stories (I think they had a selection of themes/prompts to choose from) and then some get made into audios, with a vote when all are released. The writer of the short with the most votes gets to write for an piso de of the podcast which is pretty cool!

I’d missed out on listening to prior contests but decided to this time, so I listened to them in batches of 2 (there were six total). If you want to listen to them the thread with links is here? Each of them were pretty good in their own ways and each one was very different. When I’d listened to the first four I was sure I’d found the one I thought was best in Hades Bay which was a story told from the point of view of a kind of eldritch entity. However that was narrowly beaten by the last one, The Last One To Speak, which was couldn’t be more different (it was a game show, though the host was definitely not human). If horror short audio stuff interests you go give them a listen and vote for whichever you feel is best.

I also started the second story of Selene. I thought that each story would be self contained in a way, with different characters (though all set in the same city) however from the first two episodes a number of characters have already returned (i think five, plus a peacock) so that did surprise me. Plus from the title ‘the doll hospital’ I got the vibe it’d be creepy but said hospital (at least on the surface) is quite the opposite, a bright cheery place…. And yet with five episodes to go I guess that could definitely change. But then The Black Pond didn’t exactly go the way I expected either.

On Monday night I did decide to get some stuff from that ID at xbox offer. I had some credit so felt I may as well use it, so I got free games that were all the same price: Frog Detective: The Entire Mystery Just Crow Things and Lego Builders Journey. I’ve not had chance to play any (causa stress) but maybe I’ll check one out soon.

Also Monday was the second ep of Stranger Things season 3. I definitely have many thoughts about the first scene with Billy and whatever entity showed itself as a copy of him. (Less a fan of the rat exploding and the mess sliding out of the cage, like nope.) I love that Steve is in the outfit again and I feel it’s what he’s gonna wear most of the season (which I love). I love his scenes with Dustin, they’re so sweet together (and Robin is so funny I love her). And poor Will, I felt so bad for him just wanting to play dnd and getting ignored,

I have a few theories on what’s gonna happen (I know at least 3 people have already seen it so shh). I still think there’ll be some showdown at the mall and I feel that the gifs I’ve seen of Steve beaten in his outfit are gonna be because of Russians (I’m 90% sure I’ve been told that already) and I feel something Bad is gonna happen to Billy. Like he’s already controlled (I did think he was gonna be replaced) by whatever that thing is which is bad enough but I feel he’s not gonna make it. (I base that assumption on that I’ve never seen him in season 4 pics, but of course he could have gone, quite wisely ‘screw this I’m outta here!’)

I might watch another this week, but I’m not sure when.

Tuesday night, before I got too tired to sleep, I watched the second episode of The Rig season 2. It’s clear this time the scope has widened because itsnot just set on the second rig as it’s showing what happens to the people that went to the mainland (and the aftermath of season 1 there). I’m still weighing up if the ceo is telling the truth about wanting to protect the ancestor or if she’s just lying to keep the people on the rig (and people under her are acting against her without her knowledge). I mean she definitely seems suspicious, but the evil ceo trope is also done so often I feel it could be a red herring but I guess we’ll see.

Lastly, like I mentioned in the last post, I finished the first of the read Christie books! Despite getting a boxset of Agatha’s books over a year ago this is the first I’ve actually read. Before that the most I’ve read is a lil short story collection (which was a £1 quick reads so wasn’t very long).

The first one is Five Little Pigs so I’m gonna put thoughts under the cut. (Since I know at least one person is gonna read it soon!)

Now I’m bundling with Midna and then might finish a fic and post the last one on ao3.

Thoughts
shadowhive: (Steve His slutty lil outfit)
I did mean to do the new snowflake post yesterday but cause I can’t think of anything for it yet, it’s time for a general post.

My focus is a little off cause I’ve not slept too well. The placement of the scar from the biopsy means it can be difficult to settle. A few nights it has been so painful/hard to settle I’ve not got much sleep which is so annoying.

A few days ago mum did remove the dressing and the scar is 4 about inches long, which is much bigger than I expected (I thought it’d be half that cause the thing on my back was under an inch across). No wonder the doctor that did it made a comment about it being a ‘cool scar’.

Other than it being hard to settle it’s largely being annoying. I still can’t bend down or stretch, laughing sometimes hurts and when we walk Naryu I can’t hold her lead like usual (which is confusing her and making her act up a bit, but I couldn’t take her pulling). Which ugh.

A letter came the other day about switching to Universal Credit which, ugh, hasn’t really helped, I’m not too keen on it cause I’ve heard horror stories but I’m not in the mindset to contact the advisor to go over it. It doesn’t need sorting for months yet so I’m just gonna focus on recovering.

It hasn’t helped that it’s suddenly gone really cold. The thermostat thing doesn’t seem to be working either. Its batteries needed changing and since then it’s not wanted to work for some reason. It comes on, but doesn’t seem to be communicating with the boiler which… I dunno why.

It seems mum’s back and forth about seeing Better Man, at least at the cinema at Bentley Bridge, has ended. It seems we’re not gonna go after all which, is kinda fine by me cause the ticket prices seemed so high.but I was kinda hoping to go and try and get the shadow thing that the cinema had (some kinda cup thing) and I did was kinda wanting to look in town but between cold, money and back? It’s best not to really.

It is showing in the more local cinema, however it’s at 6:30 which makes it a no cause I don’t think I could manage the walk back.

Instead of going, and cause there was a January sale on tickets, were instead going to the theatre at the end of the month, to see a production of Murder On The Orient Express at the same theatre we saw And Then There Were None last year. So at least we’ll have one trip out and it is an afternoon showing this time which should be better.

And speaking of Agatha Christie I ended up getting some more books cause mum insisted so four of them came today. Most are for the reading challenge (I think I now have 6 of the 12?) and one of them is older than I am! I might have to message the seller though cause the cover on one is wrong (the one not for the challenge cause it was meant to be pretty butterflies) but we’ll see.

I also got the first book of the challenge out from the boxset mum got me for christmas a year back, but damn it took me about 10 minutes to get it out of the box it was in so tight. I’ve not started it yet but it’s in reach.

In more fandom things, I finished building the last Lego set I got: the dark falcon. However two other pieces are missing so I had to send for them, so it’s not fully done. It looks nice being all black and all, but one quarter of the interior does feel a bit empty (it only has a crate) but the other parts are better, there’s a gaming system, a throne, a cell and a set of nice beds. The only other bad part is the turret on the underside which, while nice, is so fragile. The figures are pretty cool though, but it is a bit of a shame there probably won’t be more sets based on the show (there’s an x-wing and tie fighter set, plus a Jedi starfighter) I’d have loved to see the dark Kit Fisto figure, or the Maul in Lando’s fit or ewok bounty hunters

In terms of watching stuff I watched started Stranger Things season 3. I love that they wasted no time introducing Steve in his outfit and that there was that whole scene of Billy as a lifeguard, like damn. I’m curious to see how the season will play out. I have my suspicions about some things (I feel it’s super obvious we’ll get Russians at some point, and I feel something is gonna go down at that new mall).

I also put on the first ep of season 2 of The Rig. I watched season 1 over a few nights but I don’t think I have the focus to this time. However I really enjoyed the first ep it felt like they threw a lot into it. (Like a whole new location but still with a rig, plus an underwater base). But it did make me think of Helix season 1 (arctic base, potentially dubious experiments, a ceo played by someone who was a Borg). I’m looking forward to see how it plays out and to see who said ceo (played by Alice Krige) is really lying to.

Plus there was also Skeleton Crew which also continues to be really great, though damnit the sexy pirate ended up dying. There’s only one ep left though which feels like such a shame. The actors that play the kids have done such a great job with them it feels sad to already leave them. Hopefully they’ll be back.

I’ve also ended up watching this seasons The Traitors and there really is something about it that hooks you in doesn’t it? Though I felt bad for Kasim the other day and how they all went for him and for why? Cause he was a doctor and nice like ???

Anyway I’m gonna bundle up now and maybe do something but no doubt get distracted or tired so I end with a pic of the round girl being snuggly.

shadowhive: (Awsten Rainbow boy)
Last night I didn’t do too much, I just watched stuff and then did a little gaming and my eyes went funny which meant I went up early.

I did finish Why Didn’t They Ask Evans which was a bit… I dunno. I think it took too long for it to get anywhere and it just didn’t feel too satisfying. But then again maybe the source material wasn’t either? In which case then it was a pretty good adaption.

I also listened to the who audios that was on bbc sounds (good job too there’s under a week of it being on there) and it was pretty good. It was nice to hear Leela again, even though she was so damaged. I know she’s in the other one I need to listen to too which I will soon,

(I also did some Resident Evil Mercenaries and unlocked Luis, and did Forza earlier which looks pretty though I’m still bad at racing)

There was a code from Spotify for the new Waterparks tour which I might not go to (unless it doesn’t sell out and the album turns out to be good) but it amused me the code was Gawsten, like why make it one of the band ship names?

Today was gonna be a rest day, but I saw on twitter that someone saw some of the new micro galaxy squadron stuff in Morrisons, and with money off too! Since mum was going to town with her library colleague this morning I decided to tag along just in case, not expecting to see anything…

However! They had some! They had the series 1 blind boxes reduced (sadly it was 2 AT-RT’s which I I already had but there was a speeder bike!), plus two series two ships. One was a snowspeeder which I wasn’t gonna get but is pretty cool (it even has a tow cable which I didn’t expect!) but the other was the one I had been hoping for, Bo-Katan’s starfighter! It’s so cool and rotates and is just so awesome. Though I suspect they will end up redoing it to make it bigger and add some features. But I’m so glad they had it!

Also from there I got some Easter stuff (the only place I’ve seen some), the new Lego explorers magazine and a Hairy Bikers vegetarian book which was reduced and has some nice sounding things. (Alas between them and other things I vastly overspent, boo but some of that was mum’s birthday stuff.) We had to stop off on the way back for mums friend to get something from sainsburys so I popped in and they had series 2 blind boxes reduced too so I got some and there was great pulls, with the mandalorian and a STAP! Plus mum got me the Marple book cause I pointed it out. (It was my first time seeing it and I wasn’t gonna get it but she was insistent

When we got back I watched The Mandalorian which was a mix of AHHH and imperials are bastards.

I then popped to put money on the gas card, cause we ran out when a storm came the other night. Alas the nearest payment site (a Nisa just up the road) is now… not a Payzone site suddenly. The nearest one instead is down near the train station which is an absurd place for it to be. It was too far to go today, especially because of the storm coming back, but I’ll try tomorrow. Of course Payzone don’t have a proper contact form to complain, because that’s just ridiculous nonsense.

(Of course it did rain again but now it’s suddenly gone sunny which is too late)

The rest of tonight I’m just gonna bundle up and rest then watch the qsmp tonight. And hopefully do some other things.
shadowhive: (The Child Soup)
So the fuzziness has continued into today. I’m trying to tell if it’s a mental health thing, or if it’s whatever made me feel ill Sunday or that I over exerted myself yesterday. Or if it’s some combo of all of the above. Either way it’s annoying and is draining me.

It seems there are at least two Doctor Who spin offs incoming and one of which is gonna be a UNIT series headed by Kate Stewart which I’m all here for (please let Osgood be there too). It’ll be curious how they handle things cause I know there’s been an audio series that’s Unit based already (that I’m curious about, it’s had Autons, the master, the silence and silurians among other things) so will it contradict it? Will it adapt some of the audios as live action? Or will there just be hints that link them. I guess we’ll see.

Other tv news is that Willow has apparently been cancelled which sucks because it was so great and had such a potential (especilaly since it seems there was two seasons planned). Hopefully there’s enough backlash to get them to backtrack, or that it’s wrong to begin with.

Lastly is thoughts on The Mandalorian (I dunno if anyone reads these but…

I’m gonna finish Jack’s stream, do some sonic frontiers and likely curl up and zzz, hopefully this fuzziness will end up shooing too)

(Last post also has links to ama and other things too)
shadowhive: (Cameron Blood)
So I can’t sleep so what am I gonna do? Make a post

Today started off ok, head seemed to be fine and the weather was nice so I risked going to try and get a Mother’s Day card. The nearest places were horrendous prices (the cheapest was £2.50!) so I I hoped to have better luck at the shops near the train station. I didn’t expect the card shop to have nice cards for decent prices but they did so I picked one up there, which I’m glad for cause that’s all mum wanted (I had two card choices I went for the one with less glitter cause I thought it might go everywhere, though it took awhile to decide that).

I also went in a few other places there but they didn’t have much, I hoped there’d be Doritos on offer or something but alas no.

I didn’t have much time to rest when I got back as mum was back from the library and wanted to walk the pup so we did. It’s a good job we did because in the afternoon the weather went odd. There was rain, then snow, then rain again. It was crazy.

I did do some gaming, including finishing the Xbox quests on age of empires 2 and doing some sonic frontiers (and doing some fortnite).

(There’s still no sign of the moon bear alas, I’ve contacted support on twitter that might help but I’m not sure. It’s been over a month now so it might be lost. I might email again later in the week.)

I had hoped to write but I didn’t do much, I did about a paragraph but that’s it. At least it’s something.

I have edited the fic post to add abit about Cameron from Weathers. (I should also edit some other bits but…) cause the hyperfxiation on him is coming back and I might have to fic him soon. And I need content with him. (He’s gonna be someone I’m gonna put a fic blunty on him so…)

In writing it I reminded myself I think I heard Weathers before Set It Off at the mental health stream Mikey presented last year. Does anyone remember what it was called so I can check?

And speaking of Mikey, only not really, there’s pics from MCR gigs and Ray looks so hot. But also Gerard js wearing a short skirt and is… flashing everyone. It’s a lot.

And speaking of gigs the lovejoy tour has started in Ireland so there’s merch pics. The hoodie looks nice but it seems pricey and I want da better look on one of the tees.

I’m doing an ANA thing in April so feel free to leave comments there with things for me to do. Only two days are taken so far

Over the course of the day by head’s got a bit fuzzier, culminating in me deciding to give sonic a break to watch something else. I picked Bob’s burgers cause I wanted something funny, though couldn’t find where I’d left it off so had to guess. So I started in season 3 and the two eps I watched tonight feel unfamiliar so that seems right (they should’ve won the minivan or at least something not foam).

Two eps was all I could manage before my eyes goat achy ski gave up and came to bed, hoping to curl up and zzz. Alas rest hasn’t come as easy as I expected so instead… I’m making this post with Sykkuno playing some game with a demonispc pig? I don’t get it either.

Hopefully I can sleep though and this fuzziness shoos (and there’s the Mandalorian tomorrow if nothing else
shadowhive: (5up Pretty)
So yesterday was one of those days where it felt like everyone decided to do everything on the same day because there was so much.

It started like a few days this week, with my head feeling fuzzy. It was less depression/anxiety type fuzzy more headachy fuzzy. I think I might have to take up a pack of meds so I have them upstairs to see if it helps, especially cause I felt that way today too. Or maybe it’s just causa the annoying sudden cold. It’s especially annoying cause I still haven’t read what I was going to, hopefully today cause the same fuzziness was there this morning.

There was the fortnite new season update yesterday, which felt like it took forever to go live. It’s not a completely new map, only the south eastern corner has changed, but it looks so pretty. It’s part Japanese style buildings with a cyberpunk style city at it’s heart. Also the main battle pass character is called Renzo The Destroyer and he looks so cool! Just look at him! He’s now my new main, at least until Leon comes out (probably around the Resident Evil release)

Speaking of Leon (although I didn’t find this out until later in the day) the game voice actor for him is gonna be at Insomnia next month, along with the actress that plays the tall vampire lady. I’m still waiting for the schedule to go live but it’s tempting me. (And it’s not as if insomnia sells out)

Yesterday was also the finale of this series of Father Brown which was pretty good, if sad that it seems Goodfellow isn’t gonna be running things like it seemed he would going forward. I hope that doesn’t mean he’s sent elsewhere. This series has felt a little odd though, mainly because of how Mrs M was unceremoniously written out and not given a farewell ep. It makes me think that something has happened to the actress which meant she couldn’t come back (but if not…. Then it seems a pretty lousy thing to do).

After that there was Picard.

The new Sorry vid was yesterday and this time it was in a prison which… yeah. It felt more than once that the scenes could have been the start of a porn. It was wild. Wilbur went live later and did a watch of the first vids and it seems the next one is gonna be a bank robbery (and more are gonna be filmed after the tour)

At the same time as Wilbur’s stream Quackity’s thing got announced and from the trailer (with two Quackity’s which is 👀) it’s gonna be a bilingual server which makes me wonder exactly what that means and who is involved. I guess we’ll see soon cause the date is this month.

(And speaking of smps it seems the dreamsmp isn’t getting a season 2 after all which makes the ending all the more annoying and frustrating)

Who thoughts now. I did some Lost In Time and unlocked Leela yesterday which was awesome, because she’s one of my fav old Who companions.

Last night I watched The Time Meddler, the last ep of season 2. As a finale it’s a pretty good one. Obviously that’s in large part due to the Monk (who is that titular meddler) so it’s a bit of a shame this is the only one of his two eps that’s complete (and that he never showed up again after that).

Vicki and Steven (who randomly shows up in the tardis after coming in unseen in the last ep, most likely when the doctor was sorting the Dalek time ship to send Ian and Barbara back) spent a good portion of the ep separated from the doctor investigating. They seem to be a pretty decent team, with Vicki being pretty sensible to match Steven’s rudeness.

The ep’s also the first to be historical but not a pure historical, which proves to be a massive thing going forward (thankfully because the pure historicals are, mostly, kinda eh, bar the obvious one). Is the Monk really as benevolent in his intentions as he claims to be? I don’t know. He certainly seems to be… but then in his very next appearance he’s with the daleks.

Overall though this season has felt like kinda a weaker one, in more ways than one, though it has given me a new appreciation for Vicki. I should’ve done rankings for seasons before when I finished them so I’m gonna start now.

*The Rescue
*The Time Meddler
*The Web Planet
*The Chase
*The Crusade
*The Space Museum
*Planet Of Giants
*Dalek Invasion Of Earth
*The Romans

Next week is a gap week before season 9 comes so either I won’t be watching anything definitely Though I might watch Robots Of Death.
This morning some mail came. There was some free samples I forgot I sent for, Lego explorer magazine (that I ordered from eBay and it turns out I need ent have rushed cause the next one is put at the end of the month) and the new Elder scrolls loot crate which felt a bit random.

Today I’m gonna be watching some stuff, maybe fic and hopefully read. And tonight I want to finish the Who ray special features too.
shadowhive: (5up Pretty)
Another post today it seems.

A few things happened today after the last post. I had an Elder Scrolls crate come, which I’m still surprised they’re sending. It was better than the last one (the last seemed lacking cause it had socks as a wearable). This one had a pretty tray, a nice big soft blanket, a key ring (would be useless as one but nice for display), a sweet roll pin and a lil plush dragon.

I should have have something else coming soon but it seems not. I’d preordered the splatfest Pokémon tees only to get an email today saying the order is cancelled. But when I checked the account it still says awaiting dispatch so I dunno what’s going on.

This afternoon I had to head to Home Bargains to pick up dry food for the cats (there was only half a bag left mum informed me as we walked Naryu). One reason why I was eager to go was because when we went before Christmas there was Sonic figures, including one of Shadow. Alas there wasn’t Shadow today which is a shame (it was around when the money issues were going on so I didn’t wanna get him). I did get sonic though and it’s… ok. It’s not as poseable as it makes out (though I’d still like Shadow if anyone sees one). I also had two league of legends figures and I’m not sure why other than they looked cool and were insanely reduced (about 90% off) and I’m a sucker for a bargain.

I did get tired after walking back. I meant to do a post when I got back but just felt too drained. I tried to doze but… had no real luck.

So I thought about making a post on The Rig and someone asked for my thoughts so I’m gonna post them here. Thoughts are divided in two: non-spoiler thoughts above the cut and more spoilers thoughts under it.

So I heard of The Rig when I saw Radio times tweet about it a few weeks ago, with the post being about a trailer for it. I watched the trailer and was instantly curious. Some sort of mysterious goings on at sea on a rig? I was immediately curious. Especially since nightmare yearnings had a story set on rig. And I think there needs to be more sea based spookyness.

So what’s the premise? The show is set out on an oil rig in the North Sea. Things seem normal enough, until they lose communication with the main land. Then there’s a tremor. And then a mysterious fog rolls in…

As I mentioned in a post at the time, it was released last week and I intended to watch one ep on Friday, but I ended up watching the next straight after it (and would have watched more if I wasn’t feeling tired). Over the next two days I did the same, watching two eps a night, so I watched the whole thing over a weekend which, considering I rarely binge, I feel says a lot.

I’d say after watching it that it’s less a horror (though it has some elements) but more a drama/mystery type deal.

If you’re interested it’s on Amazon prime.

So I’ve decided to keep doing Song Saturdays so here’s the first one.

This is Subwoolfer’s vid for Give That Wolf A Banana. This isn’t the version I was gonna use. I saw them tweet a link to the vid from the Eurovision show that was on New Years and I was gonna post that. But when I went to check today it’s been copyrighted which sucks.

So instead here’s the music video version which I’d not actually seen. The song is… strange, especially since the lyrics could easily be adapted into a video. Instead we get this, with the band being in space (i know it’s been mentioned they’re alien wolves so I guess this is that?) so it’s a bit strange.

If you recognise the song, it’s because they performed it during last years Eurovision and it was one of the most memorable parts of it.

It’s just such a shame the Eurovision party version got copyrighted cause it was epic. I might rewatch it just for them.

Yesterday I ended up watching The Rig. I intended just to watch the first ep, but it had me hooked so I watched the second as well. (I’d have likely watched a third too if I’d felt able) After this post I’m gonna watch another ep or two. Hell I might finish it this weekend instead of watching Who or starting Elden Ring. I definitely wanna know what happens, because there’s not even horror/mystery things set at sea.

I feel better today then I did the past few days, though still feel a bit drained.

I dunno why but Midnahas been super cuddly recently. It’s super sweet and she’ll even climb nearby to get my attention to lower my legs/move whatever’s on my lap. It’s strange since usually I’ve tried to get her on my lap but she’s been stubborn and now she actively wants to.

We walked the pup today, though not too far as there’s been some heavy rain. On the way back I stopped at the co-op to get some things and they had the new Lego Minecraft magazine which is yay, even though it’s set has a spider eww.

I tried to build the Earth Orbit thing today and managed to build it up though I think it needs glue as some parts tend to come apart if you so much as look at them. The wires connecting the motor to the batteries didn’t exactly feel safe either and it felt like it had one setting: super fast. Maybe there’s something I’m missing. I might colour it and look for glue to keep it together better.

I got The Lost City and Sonic 2 cause they were reduced on Amazon, both of them coming today. So I put The Lost City on this afternoon. It was very fun and definitely inspired by Romancing The Stone (that was so obvious). But I think we need more films like that. I definitely see myself watching it again and wouldn’t mind if they did a follow up at some point, I might watch Sonic 2 tomorrow and/or Glass Onion.

Then we watched Bohemian Rhapsody which was pretty good, if sad in parts. I wonder how much is accurate and how much… isn’t.

Now I’m gonna bundle up, watch The Rig some more and maybe fic. And hey Subwoolfer has come up.
shadowhive: (Knuckles/Sonic Against a tree)
The past few days have been a bit bleh.

Wednesday we took the tree down, though not in the morning like I thought we would be put in the afternoon. I get mixed feelings doing it. On the one hand the tree looks nice and pretty (did I even take pics of it this time?) but also it’s positioning means it’s hard to see if anyone comes to do the door to deliver things (and also harder to disc switch with the Xbox).

It also had the bad size of making me tired, because I have to luck it upstairs and then up on the wardrobe in my room which is so annoying. Ugh.

The rest of Wednesday was watching the new Willow (which I really love), Agatha Raisin (which is always fun) and finally starting Our Flag Means Death. I’d heard such good things about it andI really have enjoyed what I’ve seen in the first ep so I’m looking forward to seeing more. A few of the pirates also look familiar, but I can’t quite place them yet.

Yesterday ended up being a blah day. I dunno if it’s from moving the tree but I felt so wiped and so.. ugh. Both my stomach and head felt annoying, so I spent most of the day upstairs in bed. It was annoying because I hoped to get back to uni reading but no, there was no focus.

I was able to come down later for soup and to watch random tv but I didn’t have the energy to get back to the Who run. (And wasn’t in the mindset to do snowflake. Still not now.)

I was able to do Sonic Frontiers some and I finished the second island after beating the boss (annoyingly I’ve only now realised the parrying isn’t as hard and timing depentwnt as I thought). I’ve not done much else gaming wise though. Fall guys does have a new event with one of the things being a pride cape, but some challenges need parties which I’ve not done. Does anyone else have it and would be willing to play together sometime?

Today I’ve felt a little better though still didn’t have the focus this morning to do uni (not helped by drilling outside). I did watch the new Father Brown and it’s strange it’s on Friday’s this time instead of being on every weekday like previously. It’s also odd that this series has started off with three characters just… gone. This series is odd with characters leaving, some get episodes all about them going (like Lady Felicia) others just vanish between series with little explanation (or none with the girl from series 1). It really is so strange. But I do like the new lady, she seems nice.

A few things have come in the mail the past few days, including belated cards. Other things are:

*The Earth Orbit replacement. Which seems to have all the parts (it at least has the boards different) but I’ve not had chance to build it and see) though it came super fast considering I only let them know last Wednesday
*Black Series Obi-Wan, who finally came from Amazon (despite me preordering months ago and other places getting him first). The preorder was due for March, so I guess that’s something, but it kinda came out of the blue
*Today the new Doctor Who magazine came, I’ve not had much chance to look at it, but next months has a thing about Robots Of Death!
*The Tommyinnit hoodie came today, which looks pretty but I’ve not unwrapped it to look properly, maybe tomorrow

Also, speaking of hoodies, Wilbur’s new merch has gone live. I’m not sure what to think of it, only one looks kinda nice (a colour block hoodie, but it would be better if it was more vibrant). They also have a strange symbol on that I couldn’t place, but someone mentioned a whales tail and I can see it. It’s just… I don’t associate whales with Wilbur so it just comes off as being a little odd.

Tonight I’m just gonna watch random tv and bundle up, then I might start The Rig on Amazon because it looks interesting.

So today there was a new Pokémon reveal which ended up being a new ghost pup and they’re so cute! I love them already and hope to get them on my team.

There’s a new Doctor Who logo, reminiscent of the old who one. It’s also coming to Disney+ (at least outside the uk) which makes me wonder if the possibility of spin offs has increased.I hope so, the potential is definitely there.

There was a trailer for Guardians Of The Galaxy’s holiday special tonight.I dunno why, but I was kinda expecting it to be animated, but it’s not. Instead it’s live action, with everyone returning and it’s obviously Christmassy. It’s coming out in one month and looks pretty fun.

Main thing about this post (because I’m procrastinating) is about Wreck, which thoughts under the cut (obviously spoilery, but not too much).
