shadowhive: (5up Pretty)
So yesterday was one of those days where it felt like everyone decided to do everything on the same day because there was so much.

It started like a few days this week, with my head feeling fuzzy. It was less depression/anxiety type fuzzy more headachy fuzzy. I think I might have to take up a pack of meds so I have them upstairs to see if it helps, especially cause I felt that way today too. Or maybe it’s just causa the annoying sudden cold. It’s especially annoying cause I still haven’t read what I was going to, hopefully today cause the same fuzziness was there this morning.

There was the fortnite new season update yesterday, which felt like it took forever to go live. It’s not a completely new map, only the south eastern corner has changed, but it looks so pretty. It’s part Japanese style buildings with a cyberpunk style city at it’s heart. Also the main battle pass character is called Renzo The Destroyer and he looks so cool! Just look at him! He’s now my new main, at least until Leon comes out (probably around the Resident Evil release)

Speaking of Leon (although I didn’t find this out until later in the day) the game voice actor for him is gonna be at Insomnia next month, along with the actress that plays the tall vampire lady. I’m still waiting for the schedule to go live but it’s tempting me. (And it’s not as if insomnia sells out)

Yesterday was also the finale of this series of Father Brown which was pretty good, if sad that it seems Goodfellow isn’t gonna be running things like it seemed he would going forward. I hope that doesn’t mean he’s sent elsewhere. This series has felt a little odd though, mainly because of how Mrs M was unceremoniously written out and not given a farewell ep. It makes me think that something has happened to the actress which meant she couldn’t come back (but if not…. Then it seems a pretty lousy thing to do).

After that there was Picard.

The new Sorry vid was yesterday and this time it was in a prison which… yeah. It felt more than once that the scenes could have been the start of a porn. It was wild. Wilbur went live later and did a watch of the first vids and it seems the next one is gonna be a bank robbery (and more are gonna be filmed after the tour)

At the same time as Wilbur’s stream Quackity’s thing got announced and from the trailer (with two Quackity’s which is 👀) it’s gonna be a bilingual server which makes me wonder exactly what that means and who is involved. I guess we’ll see soon cause the date is this month.

(And speaking of smps it seems the dreamsmp isn’t getting a season 2 after all which makes the ending all the more annoying and frustrating)

Who thoughts now. I did some Lost In Time and unlocked Leela yesterday which was awesome, because she’s one of my fav old Who companions.

Last night I watched The Time Meddler, the last ep of season 2. As a finale it’s a pretty good one. Obviously that’s in large part due to the Monk (who is that titular meddler) so it’s a bit of a shame this is the only one of his two eps that’s complete (and that he never showed up again after that).

Vicki and Steven (who randomly shows up in the tardis after coming in unseen in the last ep, most likely when the doctor was sorting the Dalek time ship to send Ian and Barbara back) spent a good portion of the ep separated from the doctor investigating. They seem to be a pretty decent team, with Vicki being pretty sensible to match Steven’s rudeness.

The ep’s also the first to be historical but not a pure historical, which proves to be a massive thing going forward (thankfully because the pure historicals are, mostly, kinda eh, bar the obvious one). Is the Monk really as benevolent in his intentions as he claims to be? I don’t know. He certainly seems to be… but then in his very next appearance he’s with the daleks.

Overall though this season has felt like kinda a weaker one, in more ways than one, though it has given me a new appreciation for Vicki. I should’ve done rankings for seasons before when I finished them so I’m gonna start now.

*The Rescue
*The Time Meddler
*The Web Planet
*The Chase
*The Crusade
*The Space Museum
*Planet Of Giants
*Dalek Invasion Of Earth
*The Romans

Next week is a gap week before season 9 comes so either I won’t be watching anything definitely Though I might watch Robots Of Death.
This morning some mail came. There was some free samples I forgot I sent for, Lego explorer magazine (that I ordered from eBay and it turns out I need ent have rushed cause the next one is put at the end of the month) and the new Elder scrolls loot crate which felt a bit random.

Today I’m gonna be watching some stuff, maybe fic and hopefully read. And tonight I want to finish the Who ray special features too.
shadowhive: (2nd + 3rd A dandy and a clown)
This is meant to be a longish post but I woke up headachy and kinda gr7mpy (not an uncommon thing lately) so we’ll see.

First yesterday.

The Tubbo charity merch came which was a surprise because when I last checked it (on Thursday) tracking said it was still in the US. I love the jacket, it’s so pretty and the long sleeve (I dunno why I thought it was a sweater or something) looks so nice too.

Of course the good mood from getting it diminished because someone was back to looking at those ridiculous silver things despite saying she’d stop. We talked about it when walking the pup, I thought it was settled (again) and then later it came up again and I just… I can’t with her over these things anymore. I even offered to put some towards it for her birthday but that didn’t seem to matter. Ugh

(And now as I’m typing this post she’s looking at something else about it again, ugh!)

I think I’ve talked myself out of going to the Tommy show. Sure it’s in Wolverhampton so it’s pretty close and I know where it is, but the timing is bad (though there’s still tickets now despite them being on sale over an hour ago which is a surprise) and I don’t particularly want to be in a room with that many teenagers because ugh they’d be so loud and annoying. Maybe if I wouldn’t be going alone but… eh

Last night was Picard so thoughts end the cut.

I guess we’ll see.

Also Trek related but Discovery is ending soon which isn’t a surprise but… I dunno. I’m still pretty behind (because it got yoinked off Netflix before I could finish the season on there and so lost my place) but it kinda also feels… fatiguing? Because every season felt the need to have a new and worse universe ending disaster which was just… ugh. I dunno maybe the eps I didn’t see were pretty good but I dunno.

Last night I managed to continue the Who run with The Chase. The Chase is pretty ambitious in that it’s a chase (as the name implies) which means that there were plenty of different locations over the course of it. It went from a desert planet with two suns (not that one), New York, the Mary Celeste, a haunted house attraction and the planet Mechanus. It meant that there were a wide variety of locations and sets and so many were different that it made me wonder how they actually pulled it off (at least this has a making of).

It does take a bit of awhile for the chase to actually get going, with a large chunk of part 1 being looking at different things on the new time space visualiser after fixing it (is it shown again after this? I can’t remember). Once the chase gets going it’s pretty good, although some places are less effective than others. The top of the Empire State Building feels a bit out of place (and kinda overlong and odd) and the Mary Celeste bit feels a bit strange too with the crew seeing daleks and just… jumping off the boat to their deaths (they don’t even get to exterminate!). The other places work better.

The desert planet works pretty well and I felt sorry for its inhabitants who seem to just be screwed over (by losing their once an before the ep, getting the more beasts, losing their city and now daleks). Mecanaus has a swamp that gives web planet vibes (and there’s cool giant mushrooms) and then there’s the Mechanoid city which looks so cool (it’s a shame they’re only in the last part and don’t show up again, I really should watch that Dalek animated thing with them). The haunted house is pretty spooky too, and gives the visual of Frankenstein’s creature and Dracula vs the daleks which is a wild visual (although sadly Vicki gets left behind but at least she has the sense to sneak in the Dalek ship)

The robot double of the doctor doesn’t quite work, because in some shots it’s clearly not him (and the doctor isn’t even in the same shot so he could have played him, especially since in other shots it is him).

The ep is also odd cause it introduces a companion in the last part… only for him to seemingly go back into the burning city instead of joining the tardis so I’m curious how he’ll turn up next time. It also has Ian and Barbara heading home at last which is actually kinda sad (but at least they get a good ending).

There’s a bunch of special features on the discs (though I suspect they’ll be short) which I might watch tonight).

The new Who magazine just arrived this morning and I know I’ll have such feels because the main thing is about the Sarah Jane Adventures which will no doubt fill me with feelings.

I’m gonna head out soon to pick some stuff out then I dunno.
shadowhive: (2nd + 3rd A dandy and a clown)
So after the last post I didn’t do too much. I did do some of The Quarry, finishing chapter 8, though I am annoyed at myself for missing a tarot card towards the end (and the way it autosaved meant I couldn’t just restart and get it) so now I’m missing two. (I think in large part that was because the xbox image capture went annoying and just… ugh, so I have to sort that out. It takes images fine but apparently the cloud side is full which I didn’t know it could be) I did consider doing chapter 9 but it’s a big chapter and I just felt so tired so I left it. I’ll likely do it next week sometime.

(Ranboo’s stream was also worth a watch cause damn the eye make up)

Today has proven to be a bit… odd. I had to go see if there was any of the cat food the girls like at home bargains, cause they’d run out of their dry food (and there seems to be few packs whenever I go). I also picked Naryu up a unicorn in a continuing attempt to find one she likes (it seemed like she was interested in this one when she saw it in the bag but not so once we were home).

On the way back home she was acting strangely, pulling over to me, trying to tangle around my feet a few times. Sure sometimes she gets like that when I go in somewhere and she’s waiting outside (and sometimes when she thinks there’s treats) but this time felt different somehow.

Anyway we were almost at the end of one of the paths home and I don’t know if Naryu just pulled too sharply or what, but mum was down on the floor mid sentence. (I say or what as sometimes she falls without warning so I’m not sure if this is one of those times.) Thankfully the ground was soft and it wasn’t the pavement, so although she caught her ankle she seems mostly fine (if shaken). Hopefully she rests up a bit and isn’t just… incredibly stubborn and tries to do too much.

This weekend is game last which I usually watch someone of, but I don’t think I will this year. I used to watch a bunch of people from an Xbox site but that vanished or rebranded a few years back and the guy I watched last year is doing a bunch of stuff (but none of the games interest me and one is… hogwarts legacy ugh).

Tonight I’d considered going on the quarry some more but didn’t have the focus so decided to continue with the Who ray run, which tonight was The Space Museum.

The episode starts out promising, with the opening part being so strange. The model work of the exterior of the museum looks cool and the effect of the glass of water breaking and un breaking was so great especially for the time. It was also an interesting concept, with the characters being out of sync with where they had landed. And of course, the reveal at the end of them as exhibits.

The other three parts feels a bit less effective though, which is a shame. Everyone second guesses what they’re doing, trying to work out if every action (or inaction) leads them to that end point of them being exhibits.

Everyone also gets separated, which leads them to doing their own thing. The doctor gets captured, then escapes, then gets captured by the main villains where he spends most of the ep. An is a bit more proactive, holding people hostage and getting into fights. Poor Barbara gets…. Locked in a room and gassed. Meanwhile Vicki gets a great arc, helping out the rebels, giving them access to the armoury by messing with the lock and gleefully declaring Revolution! Her arc was easily the best of the four to the point where if she had chosen to stay at the end I wouldn’t have been surprised (and been happy with it).

There are a few odd things though. The museum itself is a bit odd, getting no visitors and being essentially deserted… and yet it has a bunch of guards and a sizeable armoury. It’s also built not on or near the Morok’s home world but instead on someone else’s, who then rebel and destroy it at the end. (Which seems a bit odd in itself.) And then there’s the strange thing of one of the exhibits being a Dalek. How did the Morok’s (who honestly seem a but useless) end up getting it?

The ep ends with the lead in to The Chase, which I’m looking forward to as I remember liking it.

All in all though it’s a good episode, definitely better than some but not my fav (I’d say it’s probably my 3rd of the season?). It’s a bit of a shame then that the special features are a bit lacking for it, there’s no behind the sofa again (which is really starting to feel like an oversight now, why does this season have eps without them when they’ve been a feature on every other ep?) nor is there a making of (perhaps understandable because there’s probably not many people left but still). There’s one feature in defence of it (likely from the dvd) and a new one about collectibles which was interesting and fun (I hope they put other ones of the series on other box sets) and that’s it. Hmm

Anyway now I’m gonna rest and then tomorrow there’s a huge bunch of stuff to watch.
shadowhive: (2nd + 3rd A dandy and a clown)
So on Wednesday I watched Hereditary and it didn’t okay out like I expected At all. I’ll say know more for those that haven’t seen. (I am puzzled though that ao3 has a bunch of fics of the son, Peter, with Donnie Darko).

Today was the update for Dreamlight Valley and I’ve not been on much but I have met Olaf and started his quest. I’m curious how Mirabel will show up, and the new storage thing. Fall guys has also had an update that’s baffling. Instead of having a weekly kudos shop it’s now daily, but the amount of kudos you can get is still low. (Things in the kudos store can be over 2000 kudos, the most kudos you can get per day is 200 so you can see the problem) there’s a kudos event running now but even that won’t help too much

Safari decided to die today which pissed me off. I’d not got as many tabs as when it happened last time but still, it’s so annoying. I suspect it did it because it needed an update to the OS but fuck that, I’m switching to Firefox. (It also means I might be late replying to comments since I lost the tabs I had open with them, ugh)

Tonight I continued with the Who run, watching The Crusade. I had mixed feelings about it going in. On the one hand it was an ep I’d never seen before (due to it being one of the missing ones), on the other they opted not to animate it but use telesnaps. And also I found the early historical eps I’ve seen to be kinda… boring. I also expected it, from the title to be more focused on the actual crusades with… I dunno, fighting and such.

While there was some fighting, it wasn’t much of the focus. In fact the episode was more about Barbara being kidnapped (much like in The Romans) and Ian going off to try and find her. (Only that doesn’t go well)

I’d say the best parts of the ep were Ian being made Sir Ian, Joanne (the Kings sister) rightfully being pissed about being offered to marry someone and the final scene of guards seeing the tardis vanish.

The two missing parts do suffer because they’re telesnaps instead of the actual episodes or animation so those parts do become rather … stilted, with it being hard to tell what’s going onto (not to mention the unflattering faces in some of them). And Ian did end up in the desert somehow which felt… odd.

But by and large it proved to be a little better than I expected it would be. It’s a shame there’s no specific special features for it though. There’s no making of or behind the sofa (not a sppurprise there though , but it’s odd they’re lacking on eps and makes me worry for early seasons), there’s not even something on how/why telesnaps were done which would’ve proven interesting. There is something about the writer which I’m curious about as well as a convention thing, but those are for another time.

For now I’ll watch the Xbox ambassadors stream, maybe fic some and debate what to do when the stream finishes. If I’m tired I might go and doze or put on the next hyacinth disaster, but I might game some.
shadowhive: (2nd + 3rd A dandy and a clown)
So last night I continued the Doctor Who run with with The Web Planet.

One thing you can say about The Web Planet is that it’s an incredibly ambitious story and concept. After all this is a completely alien planet and everyone outside the TARDIS crew is an alien.

The aliens here (bar the animus) are all insect based which I think is a pretty good idea and I think they did quite well to realise them. The Zarbi are kinda cute and I like the squeaking but are let down by having human legs as the back legs while the rest of their limbs are spindly (and now doubt delicate as a result). The animus does look pretty good being a weird tentacle…. Thing that’s draining the life of the planet for… reasons.

I actually really liked the episode, even though it’s a bit long (as longer eps tend to be) but at least it wasn’t back and forth like some. I really liked some of the concepts in it. Barbara being controlled by the good of Nero’s bracelet, the designs of the sets, the whole concept of an alien race of insects. The effect of the Menopetra in flight was really good too.

I’m glad in a race of giant insects there wasn’t a giant spider (especially despite the name being web planet). But overall you have to admire the ambition and imagination of the whole thing. I’m curious to see the making of later, I’m sure it all took such a lot to make it work and I bet the Zarbi costumes caused all kinds of issues.

***

Last night Wilbur did a stream much to my surprise. I ended up watching it out of interest but I wouldn’t be surprised if he doesn’t do many over the next months (I bet there’ll be one next week though for the new song.

Corpse announced that he’s doing a gloomy bear collab which looks pretty cute though I’m sure the shipping will be horrendous cause they sound pretty big. He also released a new song which is unexpected because it’s using his soft voice and not the…l whatever that makes his voice characteristically deep. I kept expecting the deep voice to show up as I thought it was a collab but no.

Today I was gonna go pick up meds but my stomach was feeling woozy so I decided not to risk it so I spent the morning in bed under the covers.

Well until the Dream Team Mystery bag came. It’s pretty good, my fav thing is the gnf holiday sweatshirt with the penguin. Though boo the Sapnap stuff was the annoying logo. There was a tear in the bag though, which could easily have meant stuff fell out (I’m not sure it did since the smaller stuff was in the hat). I have let them know though.

I have had an email saying my slime story plush has been sent too yay!

Mum’s got called in to do the library again so I’m just setting stuff up and will watch Father Brown later (I might try and fic later too we’ll see)

Now I’m gonna rest while Midna is curled on me and Xbox uk streams
shadowhive: (2nd + 3rd A dandy and a clown)
Today has been a bit of an all over the place type day. It took awhile to even get started this morning.

First of all there was an announcement of the new Who Ray boxset, season 9 (cue everyone trying to be shocked despite it being leaked days ago and pictures being leaked late last night)

I’d usually just link to the trailer but I’m gonna embed it just cause. It’s a sweet little thing and was so full of feels. Jo having Sarah Jane’s sonic lipstick, the little sea devil, the last minute. So many feels.

I’m definitely looking forward to it, even though my memories of most of the eps are so vague (The Sea Devils being the main one I recall and wanna see). It also means Jo and the Delgado Master will be the latest characters to have all their eps done. (And the new special features look fun too and yay behind the sofa are on sofas again!)

I had a random person message about fall guys so I have a new person if ever there’s a party event, it’s a shame we both missed out on the rainbow cape though, boo.

After noms and watching Winterwatch I was hot with a wave of tiredness to the point where I almost went up early but I didn’t (it was also annoying as there was some random sad too but it’s faded now).

I did get another dm, this time with some random Xbox game codes that I won. I’m not familiar with any of the games, so I’ll check them out sometime soon. IIN looks like the most interesting, being a puzzle type game.

After a little debating I decided to continue the Who ray watch as planned with The Romans. The opening feels pretty strange, since they’ve spent a whole month in Italy… and the Tardis is just left where it landed. (Which seems risky, what if rocks had fell on it? Or if it had been stolen or damaged?)

You have to admire the ambition with what they were trying to do, especially as it felt like every part had somewhere different in it (though the effect for Rome burning wasn’t the best). But I think it was a bit.. eh overall. Nero was a bit over the top, but also an ass. Most of the characters weren’t likeable (other than the poisoner and Tacitus, and the two poor slaves). I did like how they almost, but not quite, ran into each other and it was nice everyone had something to do.

Next is The Web Planet which I’m kinda looking forward to but the length. Also gonna try and watch the special features fog the romans tomorrow.

And now I’m gonna try and zz and then ponder some.
shadowhive: (2nd + 3rd A dandy and a clown)
I was gonna do this post tomorrow but I’m just laying here unable to settle so I’m doing it now.

So tonight I put on the next ep of the season 2 run, The Rescue. While Dalek invasion of earth suffered from being too long, The Rescue is a much bigger length, being two parts. This makes it a much tighter story, even though it’s allowed to deal with Susan’s departure at the end of invasion.

There’s a lot of good things here, the sets are nice and I love the model of the ship. Koquillion‘s costume is so cool looking too it’s almost a shame that it’s just an outfit. But it is an ep plays with our perceptions. Koquillion is a disguise. The scary looking creature is friendly. Bennet isn’t as helpless as he seems.

Of course the ep does serve as a vehicle to introduce Vicki and there’s nothing wrong with that. She does well in it and gets to show off a range of emotions and it’s nice that she’s invited instead of stolen away.

Bennet is quite scary too when you think of him. He was tricking poor Vicki and killed so many people just to cover up the murder he committed. (How he thought any of that was necessary I don’t know)

But this was definitely my fav of the three eps so far. Next time it’s The Romans which I remember nothing of other than the obvious.

On Wednesday I watched the last of the Dalek Invasion special features before disc switching. The main one was a little interview with Carole Ann Ford when the dvd was made and it made me feel for her. You got the sense she was sold on the part with it being more active and getting more development which was never followed through on. Which is a shame because she was clearly so willing.

One of the features is Behind The Sofa which has her and the two other younger companions from these eps watching on one of them (with others watching separately) and I wanna know Carole’s secret, because she’s sat there with Maureen O’Brian who played Vicki and they must be the same age, but Carole looks almost like she could be her daughter. It’s so strange. Maybe it fits with her whole otherworldliness.

Anyway there’s just the one but interview on the disc (with Maureen) which I’ll watch tomorrow.and now I’ll try and sleep and hope for a better mindset tomorrow.
shadowhive: (Dalek WOULD YOU CARE FOR SOME TEA?)
So tonight I finally continued the run of Doctor Who season 2 with the Dalek Invasion Of Earth.

So when season 2 was announced I was surprised, because I didn’t think they’d do a first Doctor season so soon. I was also dreading it a bit cause I knew at least some were long six parters and this was one of those. So I wasn’t particularly looking forward to it going in.

My thoughts on it after watching was… not great. Most of the eps from the collection blu rays so far, even the ones I’m not too much of a fan of, I can see watching again at some point. This one? Not so much.

Most of the six eps felt like they dragged on and, while they were some good ideas in places most just… dragged on. It wasn’t helped that it was depressing as hell. Especially in the first eps were it was off handedly mentioned whole continents were wiped out and cities were destroyed. It just felt so… hopeless.

It didn’t help that the reasons the daleks invaded were vague. They wanted to do something to the planets core? And earth was the only planet they could do it with? Why?

The best features of the episode were in the last one. First there was Barbara trying to trick the daleks by listing things (like the Boston tea party) to confuse them. It didn’t work but it was a good try. The last part featured Susan leaving and it actually was moving, especially with the Doctors speech. Sure it was a bit weird that Susan was going to stay with a guy she just met, even weirder the doctor would leave her on this place, but… it was still full of feels.

Next ep is The Rescue which is, blissfully, a much shorter story which I actually want to revisit. I might watch the special features over the weekend too (I still need to watch the one on the other ep)

Now I’m gonna watch Sapnap stream, then tomorrow maybe pick up mums stuff and whatever.
shadowhive: (Leon Pretty)
Long post ahoy

Good news mum is feeling mostly better. She’s not hobbling around as much and she’s only using the walking stick for extra support when we walk Naryu. The bad side! She’s incredibly stubborn as always. The other day she said that her leg was tired and I had to remind her that it was likely due, at least in part, due to her deciding to mop the kitchen and bathroom in the morning before I came down. I just don’t understand why she’d do something that requires her to stand while her leg is like it has been.

Sigh.

I had been intending to watch Resident Evil Welcome To Racoon City again around Halloween but I didn’t because of everything. So I intended to watch it this week. Many things delayed it, tiredness, streams, but the worst was a few nights ago. I was all set to watch it, I’d put the disc in, got my Doritos ready and was all set to boot it up. Then Naryu came down and wanted to be let out, so off I go to do it… and Leia comes running to go out too. I manage to stop her (because it was after 11pm) and I scooped her up in my arms to hold her until Naryu came in. She was fine to start with but then as soon as I shut the door she growled and swiped at my face, catching my nose (hard enough to knock my glasses off). The cut hurt and bled a lot and its position (right next to where my glasses sit) meant I spent the night with them off.

So instead I watched it Wednesday night (after going to get mum’s meds and some things in the morning). Welcome To Racoon City is a more accurate adaption of the games then the other films (more on those later) and Chris and Leon both look hot (and yeah Leon doesn’t look like game Leon but it works somehow, also it’s funny seeing Luther from TUA as Wesker). I think the main flaw with it to me is that it smushes both Resident Evil (the mansion) and Resident Evil 2 (Leon and Claire’s stories) together and it probably would have been better if one of them was expanded to its own thing. (Including the mansion definitely felt like including it for the sake of it).

But like I said when I first saw it, I really enjoyed it. I loved that they set it in the late 90’s (the music slaps) and how genuinely creepy parts were. (And that the incest twins got a cameo for absolutely no reason and no relevance.) I hope they do a follow up, I just hope if they do they give the graphics a boost (some of the stuff is amazing, some of it…. Less so). I know I had other thoughts too most likely but I forgot them.

Of course thinking about Resident Evil makes me think about the Alice films and… sigh. I did enjoy them, especially the first two, but holy fuck were they so incredibly inconsistent. And then the last one… which completely fucked things up by making links that weren’t there and trying to make out like everything was planned when it was very much clear in every other film it wasn’t. I’ve not seen the other films since then I’m so disappointed by it.

Sigh.

As a cleanser before the rest of the post here is a clip from Foolish’s recent stream. I
He was putting up decorations in his streaming room so I thought ‘oh this is going to be wholesome and nice’ oh boy. Apparently the instructions for the tree said he should stroke the branches to fluff them, which of course the himbo did and yeah. The people in call made fun of him at first, then Bad of all people said he should do it leading to the first clip. I was honestly laughing so hard because… it’s insane. Good times.

And speaking of streamers I think I missed two from the streamer post so I’ll have to add them this weekend.

Set It Off’s Cody made a post in his discord last night and I thought it was just gonna be a general thing, but instead it seems the discord is closing indefinitely which is… odd. The discord was started when he was streaming, which he hasn’t done since touring (much like Maxx) so it seems he’s not doing that either for awhile at least. It seems odd cause it came out of nowhere and I wonder if Maxx will do the same. (I’ve never been active in the discords, mostly only joining so I had info if they did stream) it’s kinda sad though.

So last night I started the Who Ray run with Planet Of Giants. (I almost made this it’s own thing but eh). Planet is a but of an oddity because it’s 3 parts long (usually episodes are even numbered lengths and in this era that’s usually 2, 4 or 6). It was meant to be 4 eps long but was edited down to 3 before broadcast. There’s an option to watch reconstructions to make it 4 eps, which I did watch, but honestly it just took me out of it so much because the voices were so wrong and they kept using the same close up of the actor’s faces. (Although the making of the reconstructions did kinda explain why there was no making of feature for the ep: virtually everyone involved has passed other that the actors for Susan and Ian)

The ep itself is a pretty good one, with the tardis materialising but in miniature (for reasons) and I liked that it has a strong environmental messaging. But also it kinda felt like how the Dalek story on season 22. This is because there’s two threads with the ep’s main villain, a corrupt corporate executive trying to release a pesticide even though he’s had warnings it’s dangerous (because money) and the tardis team don’t interact at all. He’s bought it justice at the end, but that would have happened regardless of if they were there or not (in large part due to a switchboard lady with good hearing).

It’s a shame there’s no Behind the sofa for it (inexplicably) so the only new special feature is an interview with the guy that plays Ian (wise to do that because he’s one of the oldest surviving people around) which I might watch tonight because those things tend to be an hour+ long (but are real interesting)

Game awards was last night and honestly? I can only remember that there’s gonna be a Hades 2 (and that the show was insanely long as always and for what? There wasn’t even a Zelda trailer)

Today I’m hoping to finish a fic (albeit not the one I was expecting to), but ugh I have to go to town and I’m not keen on that, especially cause my tummy felt a bit odd this morning.
