shadowhiveSo before I get outo the main thing of the post, last night was the first MCR gig of the tour. And thanks to Rocksound we have this picture of smiley Ray Toro cause ahhhh!
Which yeah feels like being awoken like a sleeper agent because look at him! He’s so🖤 I sense my Toro fix is gonna come back and I’m gonna make it everyone’s problem.
(Also last night there was a clip of new Parx which is coming out next week)
But anyway!
To the main point of the post which is today. And ugh it was another hot day which didn’t help that part of the day proved annoying. We went to take the shoes back but they wouldn’t take them. Why? Cause it’s an outlet store and for some reason they don’t take main store returns. That’s not clear at all on the site (a fact they acknowledged a lot) but it was so annoying. Looks like it’ll be a post job cause we’re not going near an actual store until the return is probably over.
(Mum was apologetic about that, I swear she’s apologised at least five times already for it and I’m like ??? It’s not her fault it’s not clear at all on the site and the people there even said people go and try to return stuff all the time.)
Then B and M was annoying too. No lego flamingo, no Daleks which wasn’t too surprising. I did get a lil Cinamoroll, but even that was annoying. (The shelf said £3.50, but it rang up at £5.99 which I didn’t notice until it was too late). Still he was cute (and I did see a guy with a plushie of him on a lanyard which was cute).
We came back to drop stuff off and had food (which yay included mangos!). When we went back I did get a Sleep Token magazine from smiths (which rang up cheaper than it said it was) and a Fantastic four comic so that was a plus.
Thoughts ahoy on Jurassic World Rebirth.
First off it was a lil bittersweet cause I did realise this might be the last time going to the local cinema. Like I might go back but once I get this pass it’ll stop being the ‘main’ cinema I go for.
There were a few trailers, for Superman (surprising as it’s on the other screen), Fantastic Four, The Naked Gun and Wicked. Now one of these films got a big reaction from mum and I bet none of you will guess which one it was.
Naked Gun. I was so surprised that she was laughing at it and it seems she genuinely wants to see it. Like??
Anyway onto Jurassic World, so spoilers if you’ve not seen it.
Overall I thought it was pretty good, I had a good time watching it for the most part. Obviously a draw was seeing a hot academic guy with glasses (seriously pics of him were posted on twitter and people said they went just cause of them). Which yeah he’s hot and I’m a sucker for an academic guy in glasses like yes talk about dinos sexy man.
The propaganda I’m not falling for is that the world is just not interested in dinosaurs anymore. Like what? People have been into dinosaurs for generations, you really expect me to believe that they would lose interest now that dinos are walking around?? Like be serious. That’s honestly the most ridiculous concept I could think (even more so than the mutant dinos).
But then that’s a thing they’ve been trying to push since the first Jurassic World, the concept that people aren’t interested unless there’s a new dino, to the point where they make these mutant ones. Like for so far real.
And that’s a thing in this one because mutant hybrid dinos are back and I just. Like why would a company create hybrid mutants instead of just bringing other dino species back? It’d make sense if they were doing it for nefarious purposes, ‘we’re making these to use as weapons’ which is still a shitty concept but at least it makes sense.
But I digress.
Other than the core team of people, mostly trained, going to get dino samples is a family who they rescue along the way. (It is amusing that the trained people almost all die and the family doesn’t). At first the family was annoying (although there was a cute guy who was shirtless or at least had his shirt unbuttoned most of the time) but by the end I was rooting for them. So I’m glad they all made it.
Also good was the dinos. I loved Delores, who was cute and the big titanosaurs, and the water dinos were scary. What I also liked was how many shots of them being sneaky was used. Like they’d be in the background, unnoticed by the characters and then bam! They’d strike. Or in the case of the raptors get struck themselves. The regular dinos were such a threat throughout that the hybrid ones felt a bit redundant and the d-Rex was like… l yeah it was scary and threatening but also?? (Although I did cheer internally when he ate the asshole guy that is one plus in his favour)
But yeah I’d definitely say go see it cause it was a good time but if you didn’t like the hybrids in prior films this won’t convince you they’re good.
Now though I’m gonna flop a bit, at least until the Miss Marple series continues (this is a different one to the one I last watched and is older than I am) but I’m curious to see how it goes. Will I do anything else tonight? It depends on the heat.

I’ve not seen them before so I’m curious! Though I must admit I did zone out a bit for this one (it was the moving finger) I dunno if it’s cause the story lost me or all the travel and heat of the day or a mix.
