Out and about

So I was going to make this post last night or today but after the nonsense yesterday… l here’s the post about going to the city. It’s gonna be under the cut cause there’s gonna be pictures throughout.

So after going back and forth about going to Birmingham a few times I decided to go, leaving at about 9:30 in the morning for the 10:05 train. It was a bit strange because of how many people on the train carriage weren’t wearing masks. Sure some put some one when they got off but it was still disconcerting.

Once at the station in Birmingham I noticed this.




It’s the big thing from squid game! I’ve not seen the show myself so I dunno if it has a specific name (or if it’s life size) but I figured I should take a pic of it because it’s pretty impressive.

I had a rough plan for what I was gonna do so next stop was the one Forbidden Planet. I didn’t get anything from there, but I was surprised to see that the German Christmas market was already there. Ugh Christmas stuff. Birmingham itself was pretty busy but some of that will come later.

Second stop was the big hmv and I got Bullet’s album for the signing. (And I got a Doctor Who book.) while there I saw this poster.

Then I made my way to the bullring and I stopped in Game to get a Pokemon code (all the ac card they had were gone already) and then I was going to go in the Disney Store but it was just… gone. Apparently it’s not moved, it’s just gone and all the stores are bar Dublin and London. It’s so disappointing, especially since it was always so busy and nice.

Since I was there anyway, I went in the Entertainer and I’m so glad I did because they had he!



So in America for Galaxy’s Edge Walmart had these exclusive lil plushies of Star Wars creatures. I’d always wanted one but never thought I’d see them, especially when Disney didn’t. But no, there they were! This one is a loth cat and the cutest one. There was also an ewok (that I got mum), Chewie and a porg (which I almost got but wasn’t sure how money was). It was when I paid that I found out from the cashier that Disney had gone and not moved someplace else.

Then I made my way to the nintendo meet, stopping off to look in Lego and check in Tesco for some stuff mum was after (they didn’t have them). The meet was in a new place, costa coffee, and when I got there I was a little worried I was in the wrong one since I was the first there. Thankfully I wasn’t cause a few people did show up, including the cutie that usually goes.

It was… ok. We played one game of mario party, I was useless cause I was out of practice) and I didn’t get any new ac stuff off people, but I did share some starts with them so…. And then when it ended I got some stickers and a key ring.

I had to go part way through for the signing and on my way there was this

This bird is quite impressive, I’m not sure what it’s meant to be (a goose? Whatever bird is on a logo). Apparently it was a climate change protest and it was quite large. I’m not sure if it was a March or anything but it was gone after the signing.

The singing itself was ok, they played the new album over the store’s speakers and it was quite organised… although they didn’t seem to check wristbands.



I got a picture with Padge and 🖤 though his beard has gone a bit grey, probably dealing with Tuck. The girls before me had pics with everyone so I ended up being rushed along but didn’t mind. Jamie seemed nice though.



Here’s the signed album. And I’m in the background of this video briefly. And I got a like from whoever runs the bfmv twitter for the comment I left.

The second half of the meet wasn’t as involved alas. I was at kinda the edge and people had started long Mario party games, so I probably coulda gone home instead of going back, but I did get a key ring and stickers.

I got on the train home, which had been shifted around about the cute boy was on it too so we talked a bit. I stopped off at the co-op (since no where at the station had Stuie friendly food) and then went home.

But Yee I was tired and down with people already.

Today has been a bit of an eh day. I’ve spent most of it upstairs, but at least I got on an AC kapp’n island with vines!

Now gonna snuggle and watch Doctor Who soon

Oh, I miss HMV! We had one in Seattle when I was there, and there was a huge one in Vancouver BC. But I know those have closed...

That doll thing is fecking huge in the TV show (although it looks pretty big there). Although technically, there are two games depicted there - the four shapes are from another one of the games as well.

Yeah it looked it from what I’ve seen! Though the pictures had it in the distance so it was hard to work out and oh cool!

Jealous you saw the Squid Game stuff. It was on London briefly but I only found out after it had left for Brum and Manchester. Really gutted I missed it.

It's weird because I really genuinely enjoyed watching it but I don't honestly understand why people have gone so mental over it 🤔 I prod you to watch it because it is a binge-fest, but... Yeah. I don't understand the mad hype 😢

Aww no! I hadn’t heard anything about it either, I just got passed the barrier saw there were people taking pics of something and went to see what all the fuss was

Yeah I’m surprised it’s gotten so big! I think it’s surprised everyone. It’s on my list but with all my stresses I’ve been bad at watching stuffs

That Squid Game display is fun, I would have liked to see that, but I've just Googled and it seems it's only going to three places.

I'm sure it was stressful at times, but I'm glad you got to do some fun things too.

Awww thanks! Not really, but that was mostly due to the girls in front getting pictures with everyone (and I’m usually she anyway) but Jamie said hi and I said a bit to Padge (they were at opposite ends of the table)

Jamie is a sweetie. It's still really cute how excited he is to be in as band as big as Bullet. He really deserves it, even if he does have to be in a band with Tuck ahahaa
