A fracture of the soul

The past few days haven’t been terribly eventful, but spooky season has started. I’ve managed to do something spooky every day so far which is good.
Every day I’ve done some Elder Scrolls Online, which qualifies as spooky because I’m still doing Greymoor which is all about the spooky. I mean the place I’m at now is a gothic castle in the back of a cave that’s filled with vampires. I was right on my earlier thought, Svanna’s father, the high king, is involved in it. I think the current quest is one of the last of the main quest line, as it definitely feels like a final showdown is coming.
Other than that I watched Maxx’s spooky stream last night and I’ve watched two films (I thought of watching a third last night but I knew I was heading out today). So thoughts on the films ahoy.
First film was Scare Me which is new on Shudder. I’d seen the trailer on their twitter and was curious. The premise is it’s two people telling each other scare stories during a power cut. It’s... ok. The stories aren’t too special really and most of it could be treated as purely an audio thing. The ending also seems pretty rushed.
The second one was In The Tall Grass on Netflix. People get lost in tall grass (I’m not sure if I’d call it grass though, it looks more like corn stalks but what do I know). It’s pretty grim and ends up being timey wimey and so can be confusing (and I lost interest kinda) which is a shame because there’s not enough plant based horror.
I’m planning on watching a scary Stories to tell in the dark tonight on amazon. (And I’m glad colour out of space is coming to it later in the month!) I might watch something subtitled tomorrow night since there’s no Maxx stream. We’ll see.
I watched two non-horror films too. I watched Onward on Saturday which was pretty fun and I could so easily see Gerard and Mikey as the brothers. (And speaking of I have a new bandom related follower so, hi?) yesterday I watched Murder On The Orient Express which was on tv.
I’ve still don’t no writing though I was thinking of it. Maybe a I will soon. Also my depression has been... okish. It comes and goes, which always leads to overthinking and dwelling on things which is irritating as fuck.
Star Wars Squadrons came out Friday, though I’ve not done much on it yet. I’ve only done the opening prologue and one random fight. That was mostly due to my frustration with the Controls which seem kinda sluggish. This is especially clear in the end of the imperial side of the prologue, where you have to go down a tunnel and just... I could not turn fast enough. I must have crashed over 10 times which is so annoying. The rebel side was much easier with the only issue being accidentally leaving the map and the final attack run. Maybe with practice I’ll get better but we’ll see.
Other gaming things was getting pumpkins on Animal Crossing, yay! Being annoyed by Sims 4 (there’s some bug with the journey to batuu aspirations that needs a patch) and the new smash person is Steve from minecraft.
Today we went to get mum’s meds, which was ok although we got caught in the rain and I got soaked. I got some Halloween stuff in sainsburys though, most of which must have just got put out. I got a light up pumpkin, Lego book, a platter and a nightmare before Christmas shopping bag. I might go just after Halloween to see if any stuff gets discounted,
Now to snuggle, build Lego and doze.

Date: 2020-10-05 05:17 pm (UTC)I'm the same as you in terms of writing, thinking about it but not doing any. Though for me I keep being tempted by whumptober for the Musketeers. Though, by the time I get off my ass and stop think it'll be November.
