So after the last post the trip to get superglue was successful (despite almost losing my glasses lens in nettles on the way). The glue worked and has held since them, yipee! So I shouldn’t have it break (at least like that) again for awhile. And if I do, hey I’ve got superglue.

I went in the Game in the Sports Direct while I was down there and it was so odd. There weren’t prices on 90% of the things which was an odd choice. They didn’t have what I saw in the site anyway but it did feel so off putting.

That night I watched the first Eurovision semi final and it was pretty good, though it was a shame Croatia didn’t get through (it was one of the better songs) and my focus did get a bit off. The second semi final is tonight and we vote in it, so I’m gonna vote on… something and hope Isreal don’t get through.

Yesterday ended up being a town trip, but ugh beforehand was so stressful. Mum started an argument and we missed two of the earlier buses which was annoying and I almost didn’t go.

The trip was mostly to use a voucher at Lindt at the outlet store and we did that, getting some of the raspberry (which I’ve not tried) and pistachio boxes (plus two discounted things). But can someone explain what the deal is with ‘Dubai chocolate’ like what is that and why’s a bar of it twice the price (£10 compared to £4.50) of other bars?

The outlet other than that was a bit eh, I was unfocussed from the argument (and there’s not much there anyway) but at least we got churros. (And on the bus I started last months read Christie, the seven dials mystery.)

In town I got SFX from Morrisons (it’s a halfway to Halloween special) and the Lego Plum Blossom from B and M (which looks so pretty) and some cans of Stranegr Things drink which I’ll have when I (finally) finish season 4. (I promise I’ll get there!)

I came back, built some of the blossom, then went back to town for the cinema to see Sinners. (Thoughts under the cut)

On the way back I spotted that there’s gonna be a horror market thing in town and I’m so intriguing but at the same time the timing is so bad. Like why’s it on a Sunday and in a few weeks? Apparently there is another one later in the year but not till just before my birthday. Maybe I’ll go visit it.

When I got back I just flopped and listened to a Who audio (The Carrionite Curse which was pretty good and all about using the power of a paradox to cause trouble) and then just flopped.

Today we went to see the ducks and while there were only three ducklings about (and one coot) there were new baby geese! There were five of them and they got really close and they were so smol and fluffy. Pics of the cuties are here

Then there was the last Andor eps and… damn. While it felt a tad subdued (theres no massacre or great space battle or anything) it did feel like a fitting culmination of the season and the series as a whole. So many people meet their fates and so much is set in motion for the events of Rogue One (which I’ll be watching again this weekend!)

And damn those last scenes…

I’m just glad some of my favs made it to the end and there weee so many amazing performances. I really hope it wins all the awards. (It has to win costume and actress awards surely)

(And I’m glad the black series Vel I got arrived in time for it. But now I do kinda want the new u-wing at some point.)

Now though I’m gonna flop a bit cause I’m tired for being out all day yesterday.

Again these past days have been low energy.

I did hope to see Sinners but I was too drained on Tuesday (causa the morning library stint) and yesterday (causa Andor) so I didn’t go. Thankfully it’s on there until next week though, but still at 7pm showings. I might see it Monday or Wednesday depending on energy.

Thunderbolts* has an afternoon showing on Saturday so I could in theory see that then instead. I guess it depends, since mums friend is coming and I fear her being her usual self.

Main thing these past days has been watching two very different shows.

First there was Andorand this weeks episodes were… a lot. This season has been building up to the Ghorman massacre and this week was when it happened. The whole thing was pretty horrific because of course it was, but it hit harder cause we’d spent the last few eps learning about these people and this place, so to see virtually all of them end up dead? It was pretty awful.

But then the following ep had Mon standing in front of the senate calling the the massacre what it was, a genocide, as well as how the narrative of the whole thing was manipulate and truth was lost. Someone posted the speech here.

Like it’s honestly scary how the whole thing is mirroring things happening right now and hoenstly those episodes gave me chills.

Then by contrast I finished The Residence. I watched two episodes Tuesday and would have watched the finale right after but I could feel my eyes going. I did watch it last night and just…

Honestly these two shows are gonna be some of my favs of the year and yet they couldn’t be more different.

The Residence kept me gripped not just cause of the central mystery but because of how utterly bonkers it could be. Like where else would you find Kylie finding a bloodstain? And honestly I love Cordelia so much and I’d love them to do something like this with her again (but honestly, at the same time, I’m not sure if they could top this)

(Possible spoiler thoughts under the cut thought I’ll try and keep things vague)

But yeah if you’re looking for a good murder mystery, in a unique location then definitely check the Residence.

Tonight I’m hoping to finish Planet of Lana before it leaves game pass next week, then I wanna get my brain cell in gear to fic but I might just end up going to doze. Tomorrow is new Sleep Token, though my cd hasn’t even been sent yet and is listed as coming next week😒 and there’s also the second week of Star Wars fortnite (I’m already level 35 mostly in my drive to unlock Poe Dameron)

I end the post with a pic of Midna snugged under a blankie🖤🤍

On Saturday night my focus was too off to watch anything or fic so I decided to put on a Who audio I got from the Easter sale. I decided to start the Classic Doctors New Monsters set I got, which is the second volume of the series. As the name implies the series has classic doctors up against new enemies so this one has the Vashta Nerada, Racnoss and Carionites.

The first audio, which I’d already heard cause it was a promo with the who magazine awhile back, was Night Of The Vashta Nerada. It’s a solid story with the fourth doctor alone helping a team find out why workers at on an amusement park suddenly went missing. The team is a pretty good one (there is one really unlikeable one but that’s absolutely intentional) but I think what lets it down is the fact the Vashta are a very visual enemy (have to count the shadows to see if they’re around) and that’s a thing that doesn’t really translate to audio.

Sunday I watched the next two eps of The Residence (so eps 3+4) and I continue to really enjoy it. I’m still not sure who actually did it as there’s been a few red herrings so far. But damn I really do not like that social lady.

Then in the night I decided to watch a film on Amazon and settled on The Last Voyage Of The Demeter. It was a pretty good film, though of course I was sad about the poor dog. Of course the central thing of it did feel like a problem. So dracula charters a boat to take him to England, he has one person he had bought along to drink from but then starts killing the crew when they find her. He does realise that a ship needs a crew to function right? Like they could have abandoned the ship in daylight (which, apparently, no one even things to do) or he could have killed so many that the ship could just end up drifting of course and then he’d be utterly fucked.

Today I finished the last two eps of the first arc of Andor and, yep, those rebels Andor ended with are in total morons. Like they had no clue what they were doing, started shooting each other, had a game of Star Wras rock paper scissors and then got attacked by a creature which meant Andor could escape.

Huge kudos though for the design team for the Chandrillian wedding because damn. All the sets, the costumes, coming up with an entire culture and customs. That’s super impressive. The last ep was such mood whiplash though going between the wedding, Dedra meeting Syril’s mum and then imperials acting like utter assholes (including the assault scene).

Then I was finally able to finish up on Echoes Of Wisdom. Turns out the fight I thought was the last wasn’t the last (it was an echo Zelda) but this time I was able to beat it, go into Null’s body (a level that could’ve been a lil longer I thought) and then beat Null which I managed to do in one try, yipee! So now that’s done but ahh the end was sad with Tri going away but at least it seems, from the credits, that Conde’s brother is coming home.

Now I’m gonna bundle up a bit cause this is the busy week. There’s mums birthday tomorrow, voting on Thursday, then Star Wars fortnite on Friday, Free comic book day/sea life on Saturday and Star Wars day and dnd Sunday. So busy week, lots going on so I’m thinking next week I can do things I’d hoped to do, namely finish Stranger Things and get back to American Horror Story.

Good news everyone! I found my glasses!

Turns out they had slipped down behind my bed and were tucked under something so had been easy to miss when I first felt around there. So that means. I can see ok yipee!

My eyes were still a bit achy from using the others so I decided not to see Episode III in the cinema, which sucks cause I wanted to but the timing has really been so… ugh.

Good things yesterday was some mail came. The postman had a few things to deliver but instead of handing them over in one go handed over one, then slipped the other two through the door (so he came back three times which was odd). The mail was a fox hoodie I back pad on kickstarter last year (with some pins and stickers) which looks so pretty and had a nice package. There was a book, Appointment With Death and other plays. Lastly there was the new Doctor Who magazine which has a great cover of 15 with Mr Ring-a-Ding (and has previews for the coming eps, but I feel I’ve not learned anything really other than being most excited for The Interstellar Song Contest).

Today I managed to, finally, read Rise Of Hellfire issue 2 which I’ve had sitting around for about two weeks? (At least). I’m glad I read it cause it was so good and I’m looking forward to how the rest will go. I can tell I’ll be sad it’s only 4 issues.

I also started Andor after waiting a few days. They put up 3 eps and I’ve only watched the first (I might watch the next one later or tomorrow). So far it’s been pretty good with Cassian stealing a prototype ship, incompetent Rebels and Mon in new fancy outfits. And, of course, the Empire being utterly terrifying in wanting to ‘relocate’ an entire civilisation. Considering the Ghorman massacre is a known event… it’s gonna go horribly.

Also today was the latest Doctor Who ep and I managed to avoid spoilers for the ep. If you want to watch but haven’t yet do not read further.

Now though I’m gonna go on Oblivion, then watch a film (unless my eyes get tired) though I also might try and get some words out too.

So after mentioning the Mario kart thing to mum it’s been decided we won’t go to Birmingham tomorrow so I’m not going twice in a few days (and cause she’s not feeling 100%) which is fine by me. Instead tomorrow we might go and fetch meds, as long as it’s not raining, if so we’ll do it Friday.

The Mario thing is listed as being from 10:30-8, which seems incredibly long to me and I know I won’t stay for the whole thing. Hopefully I’ll be able to pop to the museum exhibit while I’m in town, but it closes at 5pm so I might not (the museum opens at 10 so I can’t go beforehand). I’m not 100% sure where the venue actually is though, other than down in Digbeth. Hopefully it’ll become obvious or it’ll get posted in the discord.

It does make me glad I didn’t get the Coheed ticket cause I know I couldn’t manage both.

To my surprise when I checked the youtooz shipping the bees have moved (but only slightly) meanwhile the Foolish shark plush is in the country, arriving at Heathrow yesterday. So maybe, maybe, it’ll arrive before my birthday. (But then I expected the bees to be here already and they’ve been stuck.)

I should be heading out in about two hours to go and see Smile, that is if it doesn’t rain. It looked a bit dicey this morning as there was a bit of rain earlier but it’s been dry all day since.

This afternoon was also Andor (slight thoughts ahoy).

But yeah I’m gonna get some food before going out cause I have to walk there and back to get to the cinema, which is quite a prospect this time of year.

Spooky season has continued with two more treehouse of horror episodes II and III, both of which I hadn’t watched in awhile and both were pretty good. I think III is the better of the two though.

I am hoping to watch something more substantial (or game something spooky) but I’ve just felt too drained to do so. Which sucks. I think it’s a mix of the stress of the pad, the world being seemingly awful (continuously!) and just general depression. My energy is just so low and so…ugh.

(Speaking of the pad, there’s been no word yet. When I’d asked in the email they said they aimed for next day and I didn’t think to ask. Now that I’ve said that I’ll get a call soon I expect.)

Yesterday was also Andor time. (Under the cut again)

Last night I also ended up watching Nine Perfect Strangers since it’s on channel 4. I’m not sure what to make of it yet but there’s definitely something… fishy about that wellness retreat. And that mri is a Chekhov's gun if ever I seen one (what does a health retreat need with one anyway).

Today I’m gonna go on fall guys and then there’s new taskmaster on tonight (woo!). I did consider watching Manifest cause I saw an ad during Magnum but the timing is off (though bless Magnum for having a shirtless shot of him)..

Last thoughts under a second cut

I've been feeling pretty rough today, and yesterday too. the annoying thing is it's hard to tell if it's just general ehness, the stress from the pad or if I caught something.

I'd hoped the pad might have come today so i could get things sorted but alas, no. I'm also worried i may have to take the old one in somewhere if the lead with the pad doesn't get it going, which is an expense I'd hoped to avoid but feels like it'll be inevitable. Ugh.

Mum also had one of her random sudden falls while we walked the pup earlier. Thankfully it was on grass and there was a guy that helped too (with a cute puppy that looked like Naryu only with a tummy stripe). She seemed to be alright, but I do think it knocked her about more than she thought.

Today was the first eps of Andor and I ended up watching them all despite feeling bleh. Thoughts under the cut.

On other things the Doctor Who twitter has started posting pics, so I sense the trailer is inbound (my bet is before Strictly but which one?). One thing that interests me is the return of the CyberMasters. When I'd seen a pic in the Who magazine when I flicked through it I'd just assumed it was from Timeless Children, but when I read it yesterday I realised it was about them appearing in the new ep. I'm definitely glad that some of them are back, because the design is so cool but it definitely seems like the ep is gonna be packed full of stuff. Hopefully it's gonna be able to tie them up well. Hopefully.

I'm thinking of rewatching the new Master eps beforehand cause it feels useful to, but we'll see.

I need to get started on spooky season stuff, but I've not felt up to doing too much lately. Hopefully soon, anyone got spooky recs for Amazon prime, Disney+ or Netflix uk? (Annoyingly the latter doesn't have Mobius, boo!)

For now I'm gonna watch Eret's stream and then head up to bed.
