Spooky season has continued with two more treehouse of horror episodes II and III, both of which I hadn’t watched in awhile and both were pretty good. I think III is the better of the two though.

I am hoping to watch something more substantial (or game something spooky) but I’ve just felt too drained to do so. Which sucks. I think it’s a mix of the stress of the pad, the world being seemingly awful (continuously!) and just general depression. My energy is just so low and so…ugh.

(Speaking of the pad, there’s been no word yet. When I’d asked in the email they said they aimed for next day and I didn’t think to ask. Now that I’ve said that I’ll get a call soon I expect.)

Yesterday was also Andor time. (Under the cut again)

The series proper has begun now, with Cassian off Ferrix and so there was no flashbacks to his childhood this time. Instead the story now has several main threads which will look like they’ll play out over the course of the seasons.

First is Cassian’s and he has now been dropped off (with no warning) with a new group of rebels. It’s a small cell, only a handful of people and their plan is a daring heist in only a few days (that is very time dependant). You can already tell that something is likely to go wrong there, though I guess we’ll see how it plays out.

We finally get to see Coruscant, which is awesome to see it in live action again and it definitely seems it’ll be central to the series going forward. Two threads start there this time, first with the Imperial Security Bureau getting involved in the fallout of the prior eps (which, predictably, resulted in the inspector getting fired and then returning home to Coruscant… I suspect we’ve not seen the last of him). What’s funny to me here is seeing Doc Brown from Taskmaster (season 2?) here as one of the Imperial officers.

Then there’s Mon Mothma (yay!) who is covertly funding rebel activities and also has an insufferable husband (if I was her I’d have tossed him from a balcony, but maybe he’s not as much as an ass as he seems…. Though inviting Mon’s enemies to a dinner party certainly seems that way). But yeah this ep has definitely set more up that I’m curious to see play out.

Last night I also ended up watching Nine Perfect Strangers since it’s on channel 4. I’m not sure what to make of it yet but there’s definitely something… fishy about that wellness retreat. And that mri is a Chekhov's gun if ever I seen one (what does a health retreat need with one anyway).

Today I’m gonna go on fall guys and then there’s new taskmaster on tonight (woo!). I did consider watching Manifest cause I saw an ad during Magnum but the timing is off (though bless Magnum for having a shirtless shot of him)..

Last thoughts under a second cut

As mentioned I feel so drained. My energy is so off and it feels like the world is so terrible. We’re bombarded by awful things every day, out leaders are corrupt, incompetent, stupid, greedy or cruel (or, as they’re Tories, a mix of all of the above) and I just… I hate it.

I hate how the old pad had got worse even before all of this, how I was scared to write (the few times I had a creative burst) in case it died when I was mid flow. Or how I had been hoping to read stuff and then had no motivation (and was equally afraid it’d crash). Even though I have a new pad I don’t wanna download anything to start reading/writing in case I transfer the old one and lose everything

I’d hoped to do so many things over the summer break from uni, I’d hoped to read some of my books, watch stuff, do a few games… and yet I managed to do none of those things.

There’s one thing that had been on my to watch list, a show called Final Space, that I’ll have to speed run watching soon because of the Warner/Discovery thing wiping it (that merger is one if the worst creative things to have happened and it gets worse all the time). But I’m not sure if I’ll actually be able to do it. Why are people such assholes that they’ll destroy peoples creative output for a ‘tax write off’. Fuckers.

I’m hoping that spooky season will lead me to actually do some things. But if my energy stays this low all I’ll manage is the treehouse of horror eps and the Halloween films I watch every year.

Yeah, Magnum tends to be good at distracting with a shirtless shot.

You know I'm looking forward to Taskmaster. I say it every time but I don't know them all, but am sure to love them all by the end.

The world is a scary place right now, and that can't be denied. Rising costs everywhere and a government that only seems to help the rich.
