Yesterday ended up being a pretty lazy day. There was wind and rain so it was pretty grey. I just had random tv on which was the most part. I had no idea that there was an ‘Alaskan triangle’. Why are these things always triangles?

I ended up continuing the Doctor Who run in the wait for the livestream gig, so last night was The Nightmare Of Eden. Which was… well. There were a few interesting concepts in it (like the ships stuck together and the habitats of worlds in crystals) but it got very heavy handed with the drug plot line. And it didn’t even seem to make sense why such a drug would even be profitable enough for all the effort. Isn’t the point of drugs getting people addicted? So why would you want one that kills as often as this one does. It kinda defeats the point.

Apparently there was also issues behind the scenes which isn’t too surprising. But I did like the mandrills and felt sorry for them. They weren’t malicious, they were just wild animals that were taken away from their home.

I also heard from someone I’d not heard from in awhile which was… I dunno, it just seemed odd.

I dunno what it was about the Set It Off gig, but I couldn’t seem to get into it as much as some of the others. Maybe it was the timing, but i suspect it was partly due to Microsoft edge crashing three times during the set which was so annoying. At least it didn’t during Maxx singing Bad Guy or Patty from As It Is coming onstage.

While there’s still no announcements on when the tour is happening, I suspect it might be in the summer. They’re coming over for Slam Dunk in June and it would make sense for them to tour then too.

This morning was… eh. My tummy felt funny and I’m not sure why, though I did have some new things yesterday so maybe one of them just didn’t agree with me. So I spent most of the morning up in bed until I felt like coming down… but then found that the arm of my glasses had come off in the night which… ugh.

The new Resident Evil film came today so I’m gonna try and watch it this week sometime, but I dunno when. I also wanna watch a few other things as well, but… we’ll see.

I was also surprised to get an email saying that a prompt I’d submitted for bandom kink meme on ao3, ages ago, had been filled. It’s a Ray fic, so I’ll likely try and read it tonight or tomorrow.

I guess it would make sense for the tour to be in the summer if they're already coming here in June. I'll keep my fingers crossed for you and hope it doesn't get postponed further.

It would! And yeah I'm getting MIGHTY MAD at Shitewish for postponing the shows to the exact same time every year. November/December are obviously going to be when covid is most prevalent due to it being winter. Bellends haha

Ugh yeah that sounds so dumb! I say we take TK out of their tour and get them to do their own one instead

YES. Admittedly I do want to see them on an arena stage...but on the other hand I have seen them headlining a couple of Finnish festivals so!

A grey and rainy day is the perfect time to watch Doctor Who. I find Nightmare of Eden very entertaining. As you say, the plot makes no sense but I love the interaction both between the Doctor and Romana and most of the dialogue is hilarious! And I too like the mandrils. For supposedly scary monsters they look remarkably cuddly :-)

I'll keep my fingers crossed there will be a summer tour!

Here's hoping you get to see them in Summer! I've got a couple shows lined up this Spring. Really excited about getting back into concerts. Maybe it's just the fact that it wasn't live that you couldn't get into it. Live streaming shows are kind of hit and miss for me.

Oh, thanks for the reminder about Resident Evil. I keep forgetting they made another one. (Dunno how that'll work without Milla, but I'm willing to give it a shot.)

I hope so too! They were the main band I had planned to see though I do have one other gig booked (and some others I’m considering but haven’t yet) ohh who are you going to see? And yeah that’s true? Maybe it was the timing too, or the disappointment that it wasn’t live. I did watch it again today before it went offline and did enjoy it more it seemed

The Birthday Massacre with Julien K; and the Trinity of Terror (BVB, Motionless In White, and Ice Nine Kills). Both are close enough I won't have to travel, so that's nice. I haven't seen TBM before, and I haven't seen Julien K since Projekt Revolution, so I'm really looking forward to that one. Also because it's a small venue, and I love small venues.

I’ve got Kill The Lights booked for next month (I was hoping to scope out the venue when I saw Set It Off). And there’s Funeral For A Friend and Waterparks that I’ve not booked yet. I think Funeral might be sold out again though

They used to be called Orgy, or at least they have some of the same members. They have a song on the Transformers soundtrack, I think? It's electronica/dark synth pop, it's fun stuff.

I'm not surprise these places are selling out so fast. I have a price ceiling I won't go over, but so far I've managed not to spend more than like $50 a concert. (With the exception of MCR later this year, but they're an outlier and shouldn't be counted.)
