So last night, and today, I watched the next Who ray ep. Which was Horns Of Nimon.

Ok, it’s clearly not the best ep in a lot of ways. Some of the effects are just… bad (the ‘asteroids’) and the Nimon themselves aren’t the best looking of things. But you know what? I actually enjoyed it. Doing a story that is, essentially, a space based version of the Minotaur is actually a pretty great idea, as is the fact that the labyrinth changing was due to it being a giant computer chip.

And of course, there’s Soldeed, the non-Nimon villain who is just played wonderfully over the top. I had to admit I was looking forward to it because I’d seen the actor in something else (in Waiting For God where he plays a delightfully dotty character) and I just thought that he was great in it. And the costumes were too, even if there was so much shiny.

Plus it was an ep that allowed Romana to take charge which is pretty good to see.

There seems to be a few special features on the disc, but no making of which is odd (though I could have just missed it). Next week sometime will be Shada, though I’m not sure which of the two included versions I’ll watch (I’ll have to double check what the differences are beforehand).

Other than that the past few days have been pretty… odd. I had hoped to get better at going through dreamwidth and such, but nope. My energy levels have been so low I’ve not even been able to read the fics I have open that I wanna read (including the latest chapter to the Ray one I mentioned).

This hasn’t been helped by my feeling funny yesterday morning, accompanied by a massive depression downswing. And it’s also been accompanied by a headache which I think is due to the weather. We’ve not been hit much by the storms, but the wind has been insanely hard and loud which is just… ugh.

I had hoped to fic some more but despite having ideas the aforementioned lack of energy has screwed me up a bit which is annoying. Ugh.

I’m wondering if my energy will still be blah next week, especially since Tuesday was supposed to be the Set It Off gig. There’s still been no announcement of it being rescheduled yet, though the us side of the tour finished last night.

But also ugh, Maxx’s discord went to hell last night. It’s not somewhere I really go on, only really joining to keep updates on streams (which haven’t been happening lately due to tour) but last night the moss @‘d everyone saying they were stepping down and nuked the server (which I think was pretty shitty) because apparently he cheated on his ex. (I say apparently because impressed not wanted to look into it deeply and said ex has deleted what they said about anyway.) And just… ugh. While cheating is bad it just seems so incredibly petty and the way some people are acting you’d think he’d done far worse.

Ugh.

Speaking of gifs the next one is three weeks tomorrow with Kill The Lights and… I still haven’t really listened to them. Oops. I need to definitely listen to them before then. Getting the ticket to see them was far far FAR more impulsive than I usually am with bands.

I had considered going to see Funeral For A Friend but I’d not sorted it and when I checked the date is was the Monday as kill the lights was Friday. I’m not sure I’d want to go to Birmingham twice that close together, so I probably won’t go to it (money is also an issue too but that’s the main thing).

Toe is mostly ok, but it’s been wrapped up for the most part. If it’s touched or presses against something there can be pain but it seems to depend.

A good thing is that a Kickstarter I did last year turned up and they’re so cute! They’re tentacle kitties, with a goth unicorn. One of the kitties is a special Kickstarter wyrvern one and the other is a blind bag. The blind bag ois cute, though a few others were better. But they’re nice and snuggly and soft.

Yesterday ended up being a pretty lazy day. There was wind and rain so it was pretty grey. I just had random tv on which was the most part. I had no idea that there was an ‘Alaskan triangle’. Why are these things always triangles?

I ended up continuing the Doctor Who run in the wait for the livestream gig, so last night was The Nightmare Of Eden. Which was… well. There were a few interesting concepts in it (like the ships stuck together and the habitats of worlds in crystals) but it got very heavy handed with the drug plot line. And it didn’t even seem to make sense why such a drug would even be profitable enough for all the effort. Isn’t the point of drugs getting people addicted? So why would you want one that kills as often as this one does. It kinda defeats the point.

Apparently there was also issues behind the scenes which isn’t too surprising. But I did like the mandrills and felt sorry for them. They weren’t malicious, they were just wild animals that were taken away from their home.

I also heard from someone I’d not heard from in awhile which was… I dunno, it just seemed odd.

I dunno what it was about the Set It Off gig, but I couldn’t seem to get into it as much as some of the others. Maybe it was the timing, but i suspect it was partly due to Microsoft edge crashing three times during the set which was so annoying. At least it didn’t during Maxx singing Bad Guy or Patty from As It Is coming onstage.

While there’s still no announcements on when the tour is happening, I suspect it might be in the summer. They’re coming over for Slam Dunk in June and it would make sense for them to tour then too.

This morning was… eh. My tummy felt funny and I’m not sure why, though I did have some new things yesterday so maybe one of them just didn’t agree with me. So I spent most of the morning up in bed until I felt like coming down… but then found that the arm of my glasses had come off in the night which… ugh.

The new Resident Evil film came today so I’m gonna try and watch it this week sometime, but I dunno when. I also wanna watch a few other things as well, but… we’ll see.

I was also surprised to get an email saying that a prompt I’d submitted for bandom kink meme on ao3, ages ago, had been filled. It’s a Ray fic, so I’ll likely try and read it tonight or tomorrow.

Last night I was able to continue my Doctor Who run with The Creature From The Pit.

It’s an ep that I can’t say I remembered, even though I’ve seen it before at some point. As a story it’s… ok. The characters aren’t to memorable (other than the literal minded Lady Astra) and it feels like it was a little long despite being only 4 episodes long (most of the last episode deals with a wholly new problem). The main thing that is memorable about the episode is the titular creature. Which is to be to be believed.

You see the creature isn’t something that you’d expect. It’s not a monster with teeth and claws, it’s more of a blob…. And actually it’s pretty friendly. The thing is… well. It’s not just a blob, because it has… a limb. Which looks like this and then the doctor tries to communicate with it by talking into it no I’m not joking

It’s very much… how did no one spot that it looked like that? I honestly have no idea. Apparently they were pushed for time designing it but still…

Next time is the Nightmare Of Eden, which might be next week but we’ll see.

It seems last night that I missed a stream of Sapnap, Dream and George (though it was late) and I’m just ahhh! Sapnap’s coming to the uk to see George like Quackity did and I just know it’s gonna be wild. And him and Dream have been quiet cause they moved into a new house! Ahhh!

I did watch an ep of Archive 81 before bed and it was so good it made me wish I could watch more. Only two are left which I’m gonna try and watch tonight.

Today there’s been a new ep of Book Of Boba Fett which I’m gonna post thoughts on under the cut

I’m gonna snug now, maybe giving the elite 4 a try and maybe fic more before Ranboo’s stream tonight.

I probably should’ve done this post yesterday but ah well. I finally got round to watching the next Doctor Who ep from season 17 Thursday night, which was City Of Death.

I intended to watch it all in one go, but mum was still up and got invested in it, but was tired so I put the fourth part on Friday.

I definitely say that, if you’ve never seen old Who that this is one of the best episodes to start with. (It wasn’t mine, that was The Five Doctors, which is fun despite being kinda a misnomer.) Why? Because it’s such a fun story.

It’s set in Paris and it’s actually filmed there, which was a first for the series, so you get some nice scenery shots of the Eiffel Tower and various other Parisian landmarks. (It does make me wanna go there again, I did go as a kid but mostly to Disneyland and so didn’t remember much of Paris itself.) They end up stumbling on a plot to steal the Mona Lisa, which in turn is part of an even greater plot.

The main villain of the piece is Count Scarlioni, who is one of the best villains. Not only is there something fun about him, how he acts and dresses, but there’s also something tragic about about him. (Especially after watching new Who when the doctor is also the last of his kind.) Really all he wants to do is save his people, albeit in kinda an elaborate way.

And then there’s Duggan, who ends up tagging along with the Doctor and Romana during the story who is funny in a different way. He just kinda blunders about and punches people. It makes you wonder how on Earth he managed to be a detective.

And then the tardis manages to take the Doctor where he wants to go…. Not once, but twice, which is another completely wild thing.

But yeah it’s such a fun ep and I suspect it’ll be the favourite of the season. Everything just comes together so well for it, the acting, the guest stars, the story, everything just comes together.

Next time is gonna be Creature From The Pit which I remember… nothing about. Ok I remember one thing, from an ep of a insert Name Here which showed one of the creatures from it which…

Other than that the past few days have been annoyingly low energy, which has led to me being blocked and unable to do things which is annoying. Bleh.

It’s been especially so with uni stuff which I’ve not felt able to focus on annoyingly. Although there was a video about the oceans to watch… narrated by Sigourney Weaver, which gave me flashbacks to Finding Dory

But there was a Wilbur stream yesterday, yay! And Dream uploaded a short lore video which I watched yesterday morning too which was very… Unf. Punz and Dream killing people over and over to test the revival book? Unf. Though it does raise further questions as much as it answers. (I really do need to watch more of the other lore videos)

And there was the last Father Brown of the series which, yay, had the gang all there together! And finally seeing Lady Felicia’s husband. Though I kinda hoped she’d have left him but no he decides to be honourable.

I have done one more badge on Pokemon so next is the team galactic hq (and I need to find all the rock climbing points I’ve missed). And I tried super Lucky’s Tale which is pretty fun so far, with cute little things.

I’m hoping tonight to watch Eternals, which I’ve not seen yet and then either watch Who special features or start Archive 81 on Netflix, which looks like it’ll be pretty spooky.

(And unrelated, but can Boris just resign now. In fact all the Tories should, they’ve proven how vile they are and this should be what finishes them. Although I somehow doubt it)

I managed to do my wrapping in the afternoon. I’d have done it earlier but Naryu was comfy, I was fuzzy from booze and didn’t know where the tape was. I did get to go on one of the winterfest demos, which was What Lies In Multiverse, which was pretty fun (and I laughed a few times too) it’s definitely one I will be keeping an eye out for. I dunno when I’ll go on another

Today has been tiring, because it was a morning start to veg from the garden center. We actually didn’t get much, but they did have pomegranates which I’ve not seen for awhile. The garden center was pretty quiet though, and they had cute fluffy angora rabbits. I had one as a kid and she was cute… but had to be combed all the time which was hard.

Cause of the earlier start I had a doze, but only a short one cause my cousin decided to come which was… eh. But at least he didn’t bring booze and get mum drunk again.

I dread the early morning Friday cause it’ll be even earlier and I hate it.

Last night trek timelines started an honor sale and the first character I got? Elnor! Yess! I’d been hoping to get that cute lil romulan for ages and so I was pleased with that. Todays was harder but I got Pike.

I wish youtooz preorders took the money later cause I’d get one of the punz bees that came out last night cause they’re cute! (Why are so many people putting stuff out now?)

I’m hoping to finish fic today, but then I have said that for a few days and then failed. Oops.

I did start the Doctor Who season 17 last night, with Destiny Of The Daleks.

I’d not seen any of season 17 in ages and the only one I remember clearly is City Of Death (which is the next one and is awesome).

So onto Destiny of the Daleks. The ep opens with Romana regenerating… only not really and for seemingly no reason. It’s a really strange thing and includes a whole bit of her trying different forms which is just… odd.

Before the daleks are introduced we get to meet the Movellans, who turn out to be a race of androids at war with the daleks. I like their whole look and it’s a shame this is the only ep they’ve appeared in (bar a brief cameo in The Pilot). I like their ship too, it’s an interesting idea to have a drill at the bottom to camouflage it. (As impractical as that would be)

The daleks don’t appear until the end of the first ep, where they capture Romana. Their appearance is ok, it’s not the best ep but I’m not sure it’s the worst either. Of course the problem with Genesis eps onward is that they all have Davao’s in which pulls focus from them. The whole point of the daleks back on Skaro is for them to drill down into the bunker where he was thought dead to use his knowledge, why exactly they think he’d be able to help them I’ve no idea but both hope and the Doctor figure out what they need to do pretty quick.

There’s some funny parts, which is sometimes odd compared with the daleks mistreating/exterminating prisoners. I do wonder why they didn’t just use the prisoner ship they had in orbit to take Davros away. And why did they say penetrate/penetrating so many times.

I’ll watch special features tonight or tomorrow maybe.
