March madness
Mar. 23rd, 2024 07:34 pmMy head has been really annoying the last few days in two senses.
The first is I’ve had a bad headache, with sharp pain happening at random times. I take my headache meds (which I can thankfully swallow now) but they’re still so annoying and sometimes it takes awhile to work. It also makes my eyes really achy so I can’t do stuff I wanna do (watch stuff or game) and it’s just… ugh. I dunno if it’s residual stuff from what I’ve had or something else.
The second is I’ve felt really… low and bleh. I dunno if it’s just regular depression/anxiety being annoying, or it’s because of sickness making me low (and with all the bad stuff lately hitting me too) but that too is so draining and blah.
Ugh.
There’s been so good things lately though. The girls are back to being so snuggly and there’s been some stuff in the mail (two qwertees, a fox one and a mothman one), a plushie and a pack of the new Star Wars Unlimited cards (with Leia! Yay!) all came. And yesterday the Dungeons And Dragons Adventurer issues came, though all the dice sets were varying shades of blue which felt odd having so many close together.
Also about Dungeons and Dragons, the new Lego set for it looks so cool (it’s here) though it feels VERY expensive. It’s a shame cause there’s a freebie with it for the first week, a mimic dice box, which looks so cool and it’s gonna just be horrendous to get.
Anyway! I hoped today to do a few things, but I’ve not yet. I was gonna sort the first of the song Saturdays for slam dunk but got headachy and distracted by the shoto stream, which also meant I couldn’t start 3 Body Problem yet.
Blah.
At least I did add a few more prompts to the dead dove meme before prompts closed today (which feels short sighted especially cause of everything) and I did have a lay down which seems to have eased my head some.

Hats. Yea?
I like hats, though I done have too many. I have a few beanies which I wear and I recently got a new one which came just before this sickness so I’ve not worn it yet. I don’t think I could pull of a fancy hat, though I admire people that do wear them.
Cake
Cake is nice, I like cake. I don’t have it very often but when I do I like it. I think my fav that I’ve had is probably red velvet, which has become the go to celebration cake (which we have for birthdays). I am really impressed by what people can make with cakes. Like I love watching those shows where people make fancy and elaborate birthday, wedding and other celebration cakes. I don’t think I’d have one myself because if just wanna admire it instead of eat it (which I think kinda defeats the purpose) though I do admire all the talent that goes into them.
Damn now I wish we had cake.
How do you sleep?
Usually bundled under a blankie, with it pulled up over my head. I tend to move in my sleep, so I don’t have a specific position (unless Leia decides to come and plonk herself on my chest and not move)
Have you watched a film or TV show recently that you love in a completely non-fannish way?
Yeah I think I probably watch a lot of stuff in a non-fannish way. I tend to watch things when they come on tv and I just watch them.
With tv I’ve recently been watching Death In Paradise, which is a show I do like to watch. I do tend to watch detective shows whenever they’re on, and Death In Paradise is one of the main ones I really like, and Father Brown which just finished a week or two ago. There was also an adaption of The Marlowe Murder Club on Drama a few weeks back which I also thought was pretty good.
I’ve also recently been watching Primeval. It’s been showing on Sky Mix and I’ve never seen it before so I thought I’d check it out. (Although, annoyingly, I missed two eps of season 1) Season 3 has just started and I think it is pretty good so far, although some eps/plotlines are better than others of course. I’ve also been watching As Time Goes By on Drama which is a nice gentle kinda comedy which is nice.
Films, I’ve not watched many recently, partly causa being sick and also cause of not having a focus. However I put on the first of the Miss Marple films with Margaret Rutherford on last week (and intend to put the second on tomorrow). They’re really old films, but they’re fun because of Margaret’s performance as Miss Marple. I got the boxset for mum a few christmases ago, because we’d seen them on film 4 and enjoyed them and they are pretty fun.
Now I’m gonna bundle, maybe see if I can fic and see how I feel. I wanna watch finish the Doctor Who Horror Of Fang rock special features too (the making of was really good and even had a lighthouse! And the behind the sofa was a fun group too) but we’ll see.
