So I was thinking of continuing the love meme anyway but since dreamersdare made this....



So my love post today is about this guy.



So from my song Saturday post a few weeks back, you might’ve noticed me mention him. He’s Maxx Danziger and he’s their drummer and he’s such a cutie! As mentioned in that post I got into the band last year and, well, things have gone wrong cause the tour got cancelled and such (they did do a live show a few months back which was really good and he sung!)

So since they weren’t on the road much he became active on twitch. I’m not sure exactly when I started watching him (other than it being sometime last year) but I did and I’ve watched pretty much all of them. He currently streams every weeknight (though Thursdays is a late dnd stream) and he streams all kinds of things. Recently he did Little Nightmares 2 which was pretty spooky.

He’s so sweet and positivity and I just love his voice. I resubscribed with twitch prime last night and he said my name which gave me all the serotonin. (And then he proceeded to spend most of the stream trying to do a minecraft obstacle course, which he kept failing cause he missed the jumps).

Last night he said some things that stuck with me though.

He’ll be streaming today in about four hours and I’m not sure what he’s gonna be doing today it’s a new month which usually leads to new things) the only certain thing this week is the dnd stream which has been fun to watch, although the downside is it’s on so late I get tired if I watch it live.

He did used to do drum streams but dmca is a bitch and a worry (they are on his youtube though).

He also does giveaways during the streams though I’ve not won one yet.

Oh, and he has the cutest dog that sometimes shows up too. And a kitty that he sometimes ‘does a field trip’ to go and see and that’s so adorable.

In other news I found my Sanrio amiibo cards yesterday (yay!) and I read some of my book today. I’ve also continued to watch Pokemon XY, which is pretty good. I love that they went with a redo of the original theme and it’s quite fun so far. (Although how Ash and co got took in by the very obvious Jesse and James in one of the last eps baffled me.)

On Sunday I watched a special effect charity stream and won a mug and a tee from it which are on their way, yay! I hope they stream again because The Medium was so interesting.

Yesterday I got the witchy mystery box I ordered and it had quite a few good things. There were bracelets, a bloodstone, an a offering bowl and a few vials (and other things I’ve forgot). All in all I’m happy with it,

There was an afternoon stream of Story Of Seasons someone did and it’s enough to make me order it. It looks so cute! I wish I could get the one with the plush but it’s from game so it’s +£10 and there’s shipping on top too, eww.

DS9 was on last night (as it has been every weeknight) and I mention it because it was the tribbles ep which is so awesome and fun and well done.

Gaming wise I did more of Valhalla (I’m still in Asgard though, I kinda wanna finish it off before continuing) and some Stardew (I got some battery packs but no storm yet ugh). And AC have had Mario stuff so I’ve ordered some. I love the pipes and they’re nice and small too which is good.

This weeks gaming I’m hoping to, finally, get back on sims 4 (I might just skip doing all the Star Wars stuff and do university) and then I wanna do more Fenyx and probably Valhalla.

So today’s love meme thing is about Nintendo.

My first memory of nintendo was when I was in primary school. I can’t remember how old I was, but I came home from school one day and there was a NES set up to the tv. It was a complete and total surprise and I remember playing the original super Mario and duck hunt. (Duck hunt being the only game that I can remember playing with my nan so it gives me feels.)

I only got a few games on the NES and it may come as a surprise that I never actually got either of the Zelda games that was released for it. I do remember playing on it though, just at a school friends.

I never got the SNES, but vaguely remember playing it at my cousins. I did get a game boy though. Again my games were limited, but I know I had Tetris as one of them, as well as Link’s awakening when I got the game boy colour. Speaking of the game boy I got every version: the first brick one, the pocket, the colour and then the GBA and GB SP.

I got Pokemon when it came out on the colour, both red and blue and that’s been a loving lasting fixation ever since.

I got the N64 pretty late. It was actually a gift from my uncle and it remains the best ever gift that I ever had from him. It came with Shadows Of The Empire and it took me ages to get through it cause I got stuck during the battle of Hoth stuff. It’s during the 64 that my fixation with Zelda really started, with Ocarina of Time and The absolute masterpiece that is Majora’s Mask. (Oddly as I typed that the guys at monterey bay mentioned the Majora’s Mask moon which was so strange).

Since then I got the consoles pretty much on release and mostly got the following on release: Pokemon, smash, Mario and Zelda, as well as smash. It wasn’t until the nintendo DS that I got into Animal Crossing.

One of my lasting memories of my grandad was him watching me play Twilight Princess when I first got it and him making comments.

So yeah Nintendo has been a huge part of my life.

Which brings me to two things.


I got a few Lego blind bags when I went in Sainsburys. Although one is a double (and I didn’t get the dolphin from the regular figures) I did get the Fly Guy which is the one I wanted most from this series! I think the blind bags are probably the best value of the Mario sets which s a bit of a shame but they are nice.

Then there was the new Nintendo Direct tonight. It was 50 minutes and it’s been a long time since there’s been one that long. Most have been minis which tend to be short or just focussed on one thing. Naturally there were some things that I wasn’t bothered with but there was a few that got me excited which I’ll detail.

There’s a Famicom Detective Club two pack which looks very interesting. One has you investigating a murder (in a haunted town! With amnesia!) which the other seems to be about a ghost. Both look pretty interesting.

Fall Guys is coming in the summer and it looks kinda cute, though I blame Maxx and Cody’s streams for that.

There’s going to be a Star Wars game called Star Wars Hunters! There was no real info about it, but it’s free so that makes it even more excite. I suspect there’ll be more info on that soon.

Miitopia is coming to switch and it was fun on the 3DS. I’m not quite sold on getting it again yet as there just seems to be new fancy hair and a horse.

There’s info on the new Animal Crossing update which goes live next week. It’s mostly Mario focussed (in fact that’s all the vid shown) and it’s a mix of outfits and items. The items look pretty cool and you can collect coins, but the best one is the warp pipe. You can actually jump on it and go down it to a second one letting you fast travel to somewhere else on the island! I love that so much, it’s so cool! I just wish they gave us more space to properly use them.

There’s going to be an expansion pass for Hyrule Warriors Age Of Calamity, but it’s a bit vague on the details. Plus it’s not out until June and November which seems so far away so there’s no rush to get it.

There seemed to be a Breath Of The Wild update because the head of Zelda stuff came on.... but nope. Instead they’re bringing Skyward Swird to the Switch, complete with fancy joy cons! You can play with joy cons or with buttons which is good. That’s a game that has memories too.

Last was a new Splatoon which looks pretty cool and there’s a bow! It’s not out till next year though.

I’m sure I’ve missed something but yeah, it’s made me excite and feel better.

A few things since the last post before the love meme.

*I ordered some Black Series figures, specifically Captain Cardinal, DJ R-3X and R5-P8 which are all from the Galaxy’s Edge line. I’d ordered them cause they were half off, which was a surprise as they’re pretty new, and they all came today yay! I need to get Hondo
*Uni assessment is finished and sent, despite all the issues with it (including one site associated with it being down and my net acting up) so that’s done and I can rest a bit
*I got the new Lego Star Wars magazine which has a nice lil Mandalorian (and a proper blaster not those dumb stud shooters) next month is a Palpatine
*I managed to order the Elder Scrolls loot crate, woo! I considered getting a welcome crate but that would’ve doubled shipping ugh. I’m curious what I’ll get because the past crates look awesome

Today’s Song Saturday is Pretty Handsome Awkward by The Used. (Tw vomit, drugs)



So I wasn’t sure what I was gonna put for today’s song Saturday, but the one that was on the top of my definite to feature list was this one so I figured ‘why not?’ especially since I just followed hourly Bert on twitter so was in a Bert mood.

(You might also notice that unlike the others so far this entry’s subject has a number, because I’m definitely going to revisit The Used again at some point.)

So let’s get one thing out of the way first. There is a long standing rumour that this song was written about Gerard. Now weather it was we’ll never know (I recall Bert denied it at the time) but it’s something that has definitely stuck around.

The video itself is about the boys going out partying, and, honestly, such things usually aren’t my thing. However it’s what happens towards the end that has always had it stuck in my memory. Jepha is in a dress, with make up (and if you have the version on the dvd, when he lifts the dress you catch sight of his balls).

What’s strange to me is how something like that didn’t.... massively spark a fics. In fact there’s a lot of the things that The Used have done that should have lead to lots of content. (Like Bert kissing all of the guys, or interviews where Dan and Jepha openly say that they hooked up). It’s pretty sad that, when you go into The Used tag, it’s pretty much all Bert/Gerard content and with a lot of Bert being a bad guy. And yeah, Bert/Gerard is hot, but why is there no attention paid to the rest of the band? It’s kinda sad.

Today I watched the last of the Miss Marple films that I got mum for Christmas. It’s a shame they never made more and as do wonder why, though I guess since the lead actress was quite old that could have been a factor.

I also watched Wandavision and I have further questions. And that reveal at the end!

Then I ended up watching Solo, which I’m gonna make as my thing I love for today.

Solo is the only one of the new films that I didn’t see at my local cinema. It didn’t have a midnight showing unlike the rest, which was a factor. Instead we saw at the cinema in Walsall and there wasn’t too many people there. I remember tht I had to go back in when it finished because I left my jacket there, but they were ok with me doing that,

I always feel sorry for Solo as a film. There had been issues behind the scenes and, in the lead up to it, there was hardly any promo to do with it. Merch for it (other than lego) was hard to find. There wasn’t that many adverts or anything and it seemed, in some ways, to get ignored. And that’s a real shame because it really is a great film and a lot of fun

First off there’s the soundtrack. It’s my favourite of all of the new films and I can (and have) listened to it loads. I hum bits randomly sometimes, and definitely did when watching it.

Second is it’s a film that has lots of little references to the other films. Some are really obvious (the gangster on Tatooine) while others are less so (mentions of planets from the prequels and Scariff) which others are ones to the new Disney park which wasn’t even open then (name checked by Black Spire). There’s a lot of work to show how it’s interconnected and that’s one thing I love about the new canon (and I think that’s one thing I didn’t like about Episode IX but I digress).

Then there’s the reveal at the end which had so much potential. That’s a thing about Solo it had so much potential to spin things off, a follow up film, something with Enfys, something with Qi’ra, something with Lando. It’s a shame then that nothing happened from it for such a long time and why I’m so glad there’s gonna be a Lando show.

Speaking of potential there’s so many interesting characters in it, it’s a shame that most don’t survive the film. (And it’s a shame there’s not been anything done with them.) Val and Rio definitely deserved better. (And speaking of, one of the few promo things they did do was have people on twitter ask questions for the cast to answer. I sent in a kind of general one and was so surprised when it got answered!)

Plus I love the design of First light (Dryden’s ship) it’s so pretty.

Here’s hoping the Lando series means we get to see more of these characters (because he’s awesome and he had such chemistry with Han) though equally I’d love to see the adventures he’s mentioned in his recording of the Calrissian chronicles (which seem east partially based on an old book series).

So some people are doing a February love meme and I figured I might as well do it too. So today’s is a guy called Paris Zarcilla. So who is he? Well this article goes into it. A few years ago Paris found that there was a cat hiding under his bed, a cat that had given birth to kittens. The thing was he didn’t own a cat, it has snuck in.

So after checking to make sure the mum didn’t have an owner (once she was ok) he adopted her and all the kittens too. His twitter is full of pics of the antics of the brood and it’s just such a feel good story. His most recent post about them includes his attempt to get back inside after leaving his keys behind (they are as helpful as you’d expect).

The weekend ended up being pretty lazy which was good. I watched The masked singer and got blob’s identity right which, yay! I watched a film on shudder (more on that a bit later) and yesterday I ended up going back on Mario sunshine, unlocking two more areas. (But ugh I hate those secret level things).

I did find out that NCIS was back on (season 16 started last week) so I caught up on the missing ep last night. And it was pretty good, I actually remembered what had happened beforehand (since it was the second half of 15’s finale) and I do like Abbey’s replacement, she seems so sweet.

Then I watched episode 4 of Wandavision and it was something completely different which was good. I already want a spin-off with Monica and Woo investigating things, X-Files style (and I saw others do too, so hope Marvel are listening).

After that I did some ESO though ugh, the last imperial city district I have to do is the Arena district which is bad cause it has a group boss. I stumbled on a group fighting it, but as they were a different alliance they killed me instead which ugh, I hate that so much. I swear once it’s done I’m never going back.

I had a go on Tales Of Vesparia, for a game pass quest and I’m intrigued enough by it I may do more later. I love the anime style and Yuri is hot. I might go on it tonight. I watched Bob’s Burgers after that, before going to bed, but ugh my tummy felt funny (and felt the same this morning too) ugh. It seems to have settled now though.

I emailed my substitute tutor for extra assessment time and that seems to have gone through ok. I’ve heard something about the money from the uni too so gotta check that. And then I’m gonna snuggle and watch the new Mallorca Files (and maybe a film later since covid update again, ugh.

Saturday night included watching a film on Shudder, which I try and do on Saturdays. I decided to check out a recent on, called Porno. My expectations of it was pretty low to be honest because it sounded kinda trashy. This is the description from IMDb

When five teen employees at the local movie theater in a small Christian town discover a mysterious old film hidden in its basement, they unleash an alluring succubus who gives them a sex education...written in blood.

The first scene was of two of the characters watching people have sex and I figured that was going to set the tone for the film. (One of the characters was a cute guy with curls so I was instantly more interested.) But actually it turned out to be better than I expected (and while there was some sex scenes, there’s not actually as many as you’d expect). There’s also not too blood either, despite what the synopsis makes out... well, apart from one scene which was a pretty realistic effect which was all the more wince inducing. All in all it was better than I expected it to be going in, which is always a good thing.

Time to get snuggled now and watch stuff and see what’s new in Animal Crossing.
