Weekend wasn’t too exciting, especially yesterday which was mostly a lazy day.

I did watch two films since the last post. I watched Head Count on Saturday night and it was ok. It felt like o;e of those things that could have been a good idea but the execution wasn’t great. (Said idea being about a shape shifting entity that got summoned by a group of people.)

Yesterday’s film was better though. Miss Fisher And The Crypt Of Tears was, thankfully, on the Uktv play app so we watched that. It was fun and made me realise I’d missed seeing her, even though it was completely different to the series in a lot of ways. I’m glad it’s left open ended enough that there could (and should) be a follow up.

I finished Lower Decks on Saturday and man, that last ep. Since the series had been so fun I really didn’t expect the finale to be as dramatic as it was. Plus it was good to see Riker and Troi again (and it seems that they’ll be in it more). I hope season 2 is made available everywhere at the same time so we don’t have to wait again.

I started Greedfall last night cause it was one of the gamepass quests but... I dunno, I haven’t seem to be able to get into it as much as I expected. People it was the depression, maybe it was causa the weird religious ambassador requesting I hunt ‘heretics’ even though they hadn’t done anything. I’m not gonna do that even if I do go back on.

It’s looking like I need new joy-cons cause the drift is getting pretty ridiculous. I tried to do mario sunshine and just couldn’t get far because of it. Ugh.

Today’s been a bit of a lazy day too. I’d hoped to focus, but couldn’t again and then when I was going to read Naryu just curled up on my head and that was that.

Finally, before I go to bundle up for the night, the next thing on my Feb love meme. Guys with curls.

I’ve never been with a guy with curls so I’m putting the blame on this squarely on Ray Toro. He started this fixation I’ve had. Unfortunately, there’s not too many curly haired guys around, which really sucks, but if you ever want me to get into something all you’ve gotta say is there’s a cute curly haired guy and I’m there.

So I’m gonna do a little picspam of guys with curls and hope it triggers something, because, unfortunately, there’s not many fics with these boys.

First Ray Toro of My Chemical Romance, who doesn’t get half as much credit as he deserves. I mean just look at him!




I first heard of Ilan Rubin when he was drummer of Lostprophets, but he wasn’t in the band for too long. He’s since been touring drummer for a variety of bands but he also has his own project, The New Regime, where he plays every instrument! He’s super talented (and it’ll be a song Saturday some time)

Claudio Sanchez of Coheed and Cambria. Those curls! I love them, plus their music is pretty good too



Virta of Finntroll. A Finnish band, who has been pretty quiet recently (and who I got into because of friend that’s gone) he’s the only one of the list that I’ve met. He’s so fluffy!



I’m sure I’ve missed someone but my mind is blank as to who. But yeah if you have any other curly haired pretties, let me know (and if you wanna write anything with them...)

Speaking as a woman with curls, you don't see curly haired men much cos a lot of them decide to keep their hair short instead of dealing with it which means 'wavy' hair at the most.

Aww no that’s a shame! Does that mean it’s hard to deal with?

It's very reactive to the environment because of the curl structure. There's a whole method that was developed to deal with it that people follow like zealots which dictates product, how many times to wash it, etc. It can turn into a ball of frizz on a whim, is inclined to dryness and can break easily. If you look at your pictures again, a lot of them are more frizz than curl. I've long since made peace with the beast that lives on my head and just wash it a few times a week, condition the hell out of it and let it do its thing as I feel it's symbolic of the chaos inside my head. :D

For my curly haired male relatives, I think it was more they got teased a lot for having curls when they were kids so hacked them off the first chance they got.

Just what I was going to come on to say - it's a real shame and I'm glad that there's a reasonable subculture of men keeping their long curls in bands.
