This is another Doctor Who related post, mainly about the three eps that I watched in the last days.
First The Five Doctors, which is the last ep on the season 20 boxset, which I watched Wednesday.
The Five Doctors has a special place in my heart, because it’s the very first classic Who episode that I ever watched. I think it is a good jumping on point for people, because it has a bit of everything, but that can also be a downfall as it’s so busy there’s not enough time for certain things to get highlighted.
On the boxset was a new 40th anniversary edition of the episode, which is the one I watched, I’m not sure how much was new, other than an updated time scoop effect. I still think it’s a pretty good ep and I think the story is pretty clever, but again, it has so many elements which can be a bit to its detriment. Still it’s nice seeing Susan and Sarah Jane and everyone again!
I’m sure I had further thoughts but my brain is a little fuzzy, and has been for a few days annoyingly.
There’s a lot of extra features on the discs for it which I’ve not seen yet, but I’m excited to watch the two main ones where the doctor and companion actors go on a road trip together which looks so funny.
The second ep was even older, but was even more noticeably different. This was the Daleks in colour. I’m in two minds about the ep as a whole though. First off it looks absolutely amazing, seeing it in vibrant colour is so beautiful and I get the feeling more such colourisations are coming (especially with that last trailer with clips of other eps in colour)
On the other hand this was also a new edit of the episode. At first it seemed to improve the pacing a bit, which is good since some of the oldest Who eps can be long and too stretched out. However about half way through the pacing and cuts just seemed odd and it felt like things were going too fast, especially once the Thals were introduced. So yeah it felt very very… strange. Maybe it was down to my fuzzy head for thinking that but
None Who wise I’ve not got much in the Black Friday sales. I had been holding off getting anything to get Shoto’s necklace… only to find the company doesn’t ship to the uk unless you spend $200 which is so fucked. I missed out on a few Black Friday things as a result but nothing too special. (I did order a Wilbur hoodie though). My main annoyance is a game at Game isn’t in stock anywhere near me and shipping it from them would negate the saving.
Mums friend came yesterday so I had to go to town which ended up draining me so much despite me not doing all that much. I got one who figures from b and m’s Black Friday sale, but it wasn’t much of a discount (but I couldn’t resist the fancy time Lord outfits).
I had been hoping to do other things these past days, namely game on Xbox and such, but my heads been fuzzy and I’ve been distracted by streams and such.
Yesterday was also new Who! I have so many thoughts! But them I’m gonna put them under the cut so peopke can avoid spoilers.

Time now to bundle up and hopefully work on stuff
