So I know there’s been good things but I dunno why my brain can’t think of them to post, so I’m just gonna put up the things I can’t remember, which mostly all into two categories.
The first is James Marriott’s album went up for preorder (which is out this week!) and preordering it came with access to the tour presale (also announced last week). I was able to get both, as my last post attested and ahh! I was so worried cause the site went down and the venue has hardly any info but I’m so glad to be going!
I’ve been trying to see Five Nights At Freddie’s but every time I intend to something comes up, mostly the weather. I’ve been wanting to see it in the nearby town but with the only showings being late and the weather being terrible it’s been… ugh. So I’m thinking of seeing it 8n Birmingham instead on Friday but.. we’ll see if the weather sticks.
Mums friend is coming tomorrow so I’m heading to town with her bus ticket. I’m hoping there’ll be good new party good in Iceland and I also wanna post two packages I’ve gotta send (though one thing seems awol which is annoying).
The main good thing recently, other than the gig, is that things are gearing up for new Doctor Who so the rest of the post is to do with that.
First there was the concert from radio 4, which got shown on tv last week and was awesome, even though it was slightly shorter than the radio one which was odd. Show before it, which 8 iplayered today, was something called Talking Doctor Who with Tennant presenting as old clips from interviews in the o original run was shown which was pretty good.
Also on iplayer, which I’ve yet to see, is Tales From The Tardis, which has old Doctors and companions in the tardis again, I’m curious how the concept will work, it’s pitched as them reminiscing over specific adventures but I sense it’ll be more than that.
The new Who magazine came today and I’ve not had a chance to read, but I’m curious about the descriptions of the middle of the three new eps. The trailers for the specials all seem focussed on the first (with Meep) and the last (with the Toymaker) so the one in the middle, Wild Blue Yonder, is a bit of. Mystery by comparison. Further compounding that is that the cast listing for it has three redacted people, which is very suspicious.
There’s also the results from the anniversary poll of the best eps which is here
Last night I got back to the Who ray run with Enlightenment. I suspect it’ll be the best ep of the main season for me, because I remembered it fondly. It does have a lot going for it especially from the start. A mysterious ship, in a race that turns out to be in space! Honestly it’s such an awesome concept
One of the best parts is Lynda Baron as Captain Wrack, so it’s a bit of a shame she’s not in it more. Indeed this is one of those rare stories I’d not have minded being longer.
I think it is let down by having to wrap up the Black Guardian trilogy, though at least this one has some justification for him being there. It also ends on the hint of him returning someday which he never has on tv, which might not be such a bad thing. Next up is The King’s Demons which is the last of the main season eps, then there’s The Five Doctors which has a special place for me.
But I also sense I might watch some new Who at some point. I might watch a few random eps, rather than a full season run, but I dunno yet.
There’s also gonna be a colourised shortened version of The Daleks this month, which'll be… interesting to watch.
But now I’m gonna bundle up and get back to ficcing some
