Everything you’re heard about me is true

So this weekend hasn’t been too exciting. After The Lego Movie 2 I ended up spending the rest of Saturday afternoon/night dozing. I blame walking to Cannock and back which is tiring. When I was in Cannock I got something to lighten my hair to dye it again, though dunno when I’ll do it. Hopefully before Umbrella Academy.
I didn’t watch a Shudder film on Saturday (or Sunday), but I did finish Nightflyers, so I’m gonna post some (general) thoughts about it, since
mr_picard asked about it.
First off I’ll deal with what he asked when I first mentioned it, is it a more horror or sci-fi? Early episodes (and the one on the other spaceship) definitely have horror elements (and they do come back towards the end too) but it’s definitely much more sci-fi than horror.
As a whole, I enjoyed the series, even though most of the characters turn out to be unlikable for various reasons. A lot happens in the very last ep and so that one feels a tad rushed (but I’m not sure if an extra ep would have helped? Maybe having it just 15 minutes longer like the opening ep would have been enough to help). The end was also a bit... well. The right word has left my head. I don’t think there’ll be a follow up, but there is the potential for one.
Yesterday we watched a few Enterprise eps, continuing the Xindi arc. These included Proving Ground, which featured Shran who I love and Harbinger with the first appearance of the sphere builders.
I didn’t feel like gaming after watching them, so I finished off Carmen Sandiego instead. The eps are pretty inconsistent but overall I’ve enjoyed the series as a whole. The animation is nice and the opening song gets stuck in my head. I hope they do more.
Sunday night I ended up, finally, doing the rewatch of Solo. It’s still awesome and I love it. The soundtrack especially is awesome. It still makes me long for a Lando film (or series, they could easily do the Calrissian chronicles) and a follow up to the Maul and Qi-Ra storyline. I really hope the negativity surrounding it doesnt mean we never find out what happens. (Especially since there is a lot of love for it from people that have seen it.)
I do hope that future ‘a Star Wars story’ films (damn I really dislike that subtitle) don’t kill off all their characters. Most of the new characters in Solo and Rogue One are dead by the end (especially Rogue One). In fact the only characters that made it out of Rogue One were those that were saved by canon.
After Solo I did go on ESO but then got really tired. When I was in bed I got some cuddles from Leia which was nice.
This morning was another slow day, where it took me awhile to get going to actually do uni stuff. I did finish off question 3 though, which is good. Just gotta finish of a bit from 1 and 2 which should be doable tomorrow.
Annoyingly when I woke I realised that my porg bracelet has lost the porg... but I dunno when. It could be in the bed, in the house or when I was walking to the cinema or at the gig. It really bothers me now I’ve realised it.
I might try writing more today. I finished one terday so now I have three going: the Toro fic, the no tags fic and one other. I think I have a vague idea for no tags so that might be the priority (since it needs to be ready for Saturday).
I’m gonna read now then sort the food shop.

Date: 2019-02-11 01:42 pm (UTC)I did give Nightfliers a try, but I ended up being so bored by it that I gave up after a little more than half of the first episode. But thank you for answering the question! It confirms that the show isn't for me, lol!

Date: 2019-02-12 09:10 am (UTC)Yay, thanks! I'm always down for horror, but there's so much stuff on Netflix and so difficult to navigate that I'm sure I'm missing half of the fun!

Date: 2019-02-12 09:37 am (UTC)I dunno if it’s available over there but have you heard of Shudder. It’s a streaming service like Netflix, only it has horror films and stuff

Date: 2019-02-12 09:56 am (UTC)It's not available here (of course not, sigh). It took us YEARS to even get Netflix, lol. (We have a VERY outdated and complicated system here that is still based on traditional radio and television only, which is why poor Youtubers are harassed by a state-run organization to pay legal fees in order to be able to stream because our legal system says they're "making television and have to pay".)

Date: 2019-02-12 10:09 am (UTC)I use this to help navigate Netflix (obviously I use the uk version but I linked you the German one :)) that might be helpful?

Date: 2019-02-12 10:15 am (UTC)I'll check that out, thank you! Yeah German Netflix is way more similar to UK Netflix than US Netflix.

Date: 2019-02-13 12:33 pm (UTC)I actually watched the first Enterprise ep last night and enjoyed it. Obviously not as much as my beloved Voyager but it always takes a while for a new show to bed in.
Hope you manage to find your porg, and it is in the house somewhere.

Date: 2019-02-13 12:42 pm (UTC)Oh cool! Enterprise is pretty good! (We ended up starting this run part way through season 1 so we missed the first eps). But yeah Voyager is so awesome
