I should be doing uni stuff. Instead I’m doing this post, ah well.

The past few days have been a mix of things. I rped with perfectactor which led me to the fic I posted the other day. Maybe this will trigger more writing. Who knows? I still need to work on the other half of the fic I started before that.

It did lead me to reading a lot of fic, which ended up with me looking through kink_bingo and getting sad that so many ljs have been deleted and purged. It’s always sad when fic is lost like that. I’ll never delete mine, it’s why everything is still up on lj. (Although I did delete one thing on AO3 when I got that harassment there but that’s been the only time.) still, it’s sad to find out fics are gone, especially interesting ones that I never got to see.

I’m so glad I saved someone’s bullet fic on lj awhile back, because those were awesome but when. Went to reread them a few months back they were all gone. It sucks, but at least I had the foresight to save them. Though I hate that I have to.

I hate too that so many writers over the years have just vanished into the ether. What happened to them? Are they ok? I hope so. I do miss lj’s sense of community, which is dead and something ao3 just doesn’t seem to have. It’s a shame there’s not many writers here (surprising perhaps given kink bingo was here).

I miss mcr stuff and it seems that, despite ao3. Band stuff has decreased and some hardly get any which is sad.

Speaking of lj, I did do a new fic request post over here on the off chance anyone might want them. No responses yet which is sad but not surprising really. It’s here for anyone interested. Feel free to reply there (or even here) with any ideas. (The request post I had here I unstickied when my block happened so..)

I hate how lj has done the memories, showing them on a friend list like page instead of as a list. Lists are easier to find damnit!

Anyways, what else.

On Saturday I slipped in the bathroom, hitting my head and hurting my wrist when I braced myself. My head aches for a bit, but it subsided after awhile. My wrist aches for a few days but that seems to have gone too, though I’m still reluctant to full use it. Thankfully there was no blood from the fall but still, ugh.

I meant to watch Sabrina or something on Shudder over the weekend but I was a bit jarred so I didn’t. (I did watch Quarantine 2 on Sunday on horror channel but it was a bit blah). I did watch the Curious Creations Of Christine McConnell which I loved. It was fun and she’s so creative, I hope there’s more soon.

Other than that I’ve been gaming, on Assassin’s Creed a lot, which is awesome. Alexios is so hot and I’m trying to get him to bang all the guys, though I missed out on one cause I was a div. Boo. My next focus on it is going after the Minotaur.

Since the Guitar Hero tv servers are going doing next month I’ve been on that too to get achievements. It’s a shame since the tv part is so good and is where most of the songs are. It’s really the soul of the game (I’ve not even finished the actual live part of it). I hope they let people at least download the catalogue of songs though that seems unlikely.

I need to go on Starlink some more beforePokemon let’s go (and I caught a shiny swablu on go!)

I’m still listening to Coheed And Cambria a lot on Spotify while I do uni stuff. They’re so good and, fuck, Claudio’s hair! I love it, curly haired guys are my weakness. I just want him and Ray Toro, Ilan Rubin, Virta and Austin Diaz in a room together. For... reasons.

It makes me wish I’d stopped at the Kerrang tour they did and seen them instead of leaving. I’m kicking myself for that now.

It’s a miserable day today, though I love it. I love the rain and being snuggled in bed. Naryu has had a few cuddles but she’s gone off for awhile. I listened to the new Dreamboy podcast ep which ended up being pretty hot (which probably spawned my look for fic.)

I finally have a uni email so I can access discounts! Too bad the nintendo one isn’t for preorders ugh.

Anyway, I should actually do some uni reading, oops..

5. A Night At The Carnival--I know, Nick Cave/Blixa Bargeld fluff seems almost implausible as a concept, and it's hard to believe something like that was going to be well-written. It actually is; And--there's also sex!

6. Black, Black Leather--On the off-chance someone is going to check a few of the links I've put above, you could be wondering 'Wait a minute--why does Nick Cave always top in these fics???'... Or maybe not--because after all, Nick's got that dominant energy, or as I've heard others put it, he gives an alpha male vibe. But if you're like me, and you're interested in exploring the boundaires of certain ships and characters as long as the author stays true to these characters--this one is a winner, and it's just so very hot!

7. 4 minutes and 30 seconds [on Rockfic], by our very own Riguel*2000 !--What can I say about this one--Riguel seemed to have studied Nixa well and got all the tropes down to a tee, without being trite or cliché for a moment. Also note that unlike anything else I've recced so far, this is a first-time (between Nick and Blixa) fic! They are both just so sweet in this. Who could resist Blixa being described as 'An overgrown punk pixie with Bambi's eyes', really? You should also check out her short music video-based fic for The Weeping song.

8. Lovely Boys [on Rockfic], by warm_gun: You might call this story the antithesis to 4 Minutes and 30 Second's warmth. Nonetheless, warm_gun's Nick is still very Nick, and Blixa... Well, his role in this story is mostly getting broken by Nick (though you have Nick being written as an unreliable narrator character, which is really a nice touch I don't see often in fic). By the way, Blixa getting fucked up is an extremely common trope in the fandom, though I have seen it done very well usually. I wanted to save whoever might be reading this from 95% of all the non-con in the fandom, but if you want it, you'll find plenty. I'm not gonna stop you. On a different note, this story was originally written in Russian, and was translated to English by a beta. I believe that for the most part I was surprized to see how the somewhat fractured English seems to add just the right eerie tone to the prose and its dream/nightmare like feel. This gets scary as fuck about halfway into the story. By the last third of the story it gets almost too crushing to read. The vivid way it all happens, in both the retrospective of what happened between Nick and Blixa, and Nick's real-time dialogue with Rowland, Nick's voice especially, made me suspend all disbelief and see it happening, I lost all track of time while reading this. This was the story that send me on a binge into this fandom, I almost regret it.

I miss LJ's sense of community, too. Thankfully I've still gota good group of friends who post regulary, though here and not LJ. But I still miss the days where my flist was full of new posts and comment threads went to a few pages.

Bandfic really has decreased. no_tags keeps on chugging and has some nice stories, but there seem to be very few things posted just because.

Me too! I’ve been rereading Waycest stuff the last few days, is of course that took me back to lj. And damn, I read one earlier and it had 145 comments. Fuck. I miss that so much. It really is a shame how the community just decreased, so many people I knew back there just vanished completely and that’s a shame. It makes me sad really.

Thanks for adding me back! I’d seen you in the replies to i_amthecosmos And had thought about adding you until I finally did. I’d love to follow more people on here and I’m trying to get back to writing more.

It’s a shame bandfic has decreased. It seems Waycest has really took a hit on ao3 (and anything other than Frerard, which ugh). I’ll join that and have a looksee
