I used to wonder why so many people have Sarah Jane as their favourite Classic Who Companion but I suspect for most it's the same as for you, she was the first one they met. Personally I've never found her very interesting but then I started watching long before the restart.

I completely agree with you about Davros! He's not even very interesting!

I don't think I could chose only five favourite characters - I have far too many! - but Leela and the Brig would definitely be among them.

It's a bit sad that Mel didn't get written in an interesting way until New Who. But then there's a lot of things that are sad about the last few years of Classic Who.

I don't think I have any deep dark fannish secrets either. And if I did I wouldn't tell people about them ;-)

Yeah I think that’s true! Certainly she was a lot of peoples first old who companion so that means a lot (and there’s a lot of love for Sarah Jane Adventures too)

He really isn’t! Like I get it for his first appearance, but he isn’t even used that well in others? I’m kinda glad he’s only shown up twice in new who

Yeah it’s very hard to narrow it down! There’s so many good ones!

Yeah it’s a shame the last years of classic who aren’t as good, but I’m glad she’s written better now (and hasn’t screamed!)
