Gonna split it between old who and new who

Old Who
1. The first character I fell in love with: Sarah Jane, mostly cause she was the first old who person I saw
2. The character I never expected to love as much as I do now: Probably everyone to some extent? Especially cause of the random nature of the dvd releases
3. The character everyone else loves that I don’t: possible Davros? Like later Dalek eps just got tied to him for some reason
4. The character I love that everyone else hates: I dunno if there’s anyone that I love that people hate, though I’d say Leela and Nyssa definitely need more love (Adric too)
5. The character I would shag anytime: Jamie, possibly Adric
6. The character I'd want to be like: Sarah Jane, or Leela
7. The character I'd slap: Peri or Mel, mostly to scream less
8. A pairing that I love: The Master/Doctor but that seems obvious
9. A pairing that I despise: I dunno if there is one
10. Favorite character: Companions: Sarah Jane and Leela, Doctors: 3 and 4
11. What are my five favorite things about the fandom. I love the collection boxsets, they’re all so well done and I love the special features, I love how inventive it could be, how so many effects have held up, I love how many awesome characters and relationships there are
12. What are my five least favorite things about the fandom. I don’t like how so many episodes got wiped, some characters and doctors (especially the later ones) definitely deserved better, I wish we’d got more 8th Doctor than just the film, I wish we’d got more development for some characters

1. The first character I fell in love with: 9, Rose, Jack
2. The character I never expected to love as much as I do now: Mel, surprisingly. She actually has better a character in the 3 eps she’s been in so far than all of her original eps
3. The character everyone else loves that I don’t: Clara, I honestly can’t stand her. I think in large part it’s because she was all ‘I’m leaving’ about three or four times before going
4. The character I love that everyone else hates: I dunno if any of my loves are hated🤔
5. The character I would shag anytime: Rogue, possibly Captain Jack
6. The character I'd want to be like: Hmmm I’m not sure, I’m sure there is one but my mind is blanking

I used to wonder why so many people have Sarah Jane as their favourite Classic Who Companion but I suspect for most it's the same as for you, she was the first one they met. Personally I've never found her very interesting but then I started watching long before the restart.

I completely agree with you about Davros! He's not even very interesting!

I don't think I could chose only five favourite characters - I have far too many! - but Leela and the Brig would definitely be among them.

It's a bit sad that Mel didn't get written in an interesting way until New Who. But then there's a lot of things that are sad about the last few years of Classic Who.

I don't think I have any deep dark fannish secrets either. And if I did I wouldn't tell people about them ;-)

Yeah I think that’s true! Certainly she was a lot of peoples first old who companion so that means a lot (and there’s a lot of love for Sarah Jane Adventures too)

He really isn’t! Like I get it for his first appearance, but he isn’t even used that well in others? I’m kinda glad he’s only shown up twice in new who

Yeah it’s very hard to narrow it down! There’s so many good ones!

Yeah it’s a shame the last years of classic who aren’t as good, but I’m glad she’s written better now (and hasn’t screamed!)
