Defying mavity

My brain is still very much anxiety filled. It felt like it was making progress but then it’s kinda gone the other way and it feels like I’ve been fighting a battle with my brain. But eh, onto better things.
I finished House of ashes Friday and it ended up being pretty good. It was definitively better than I expected it to be (ok so my expectations were low so) but the ending was satisfying. And everyone managed to survive! Which is a first in the series as the others ended up with people dying (or ‘dying’ in the case of little hope) before the end. I’m definitely looking forward to starting Devil In Me this week though, because of the kinda saw vibes from the whole thing.
Yesterday I ended up watching two films on tv. First was The Red Turtle, which was one partly by Studio Gibhli but I feel I didn’t really get it. Then there was Muppets In Space which is fun but not one of the best. Maybe I’ll put on Muppet Treasure Island soon (which, with Muppet Christmas Carol, are objectively the best muppets things).
Some deliveries came yesterday too, so I have my Lego Star Wars advent calendar (yay!) and my body pillow which now has the shoto cover on and it’s just so… BIG. I set it up this morning so hopefully it’ll be nice to snuggle (or at provide a barrier so stuffs doesn’t fall off the bed)
Then there was Who which I’ll save for the end of the post for those that wanna avoid spoilers.
After that I unexpectedly watched Freddie’s charity stream. I thought he was cute, but I’d not watched much of his stuff (he’s kinda just been there in vids I’ve seen and even with this I watched cause others were there) but damn he was unexpectedly buff and his new red hair is such a look.
There was also a Fortnite even last night but the timing was terrible (around who) and then the servers fucked up so they had to do a redo (which I was up for causa watching Lethal Company streams). And the update has also been such a pain.
Today it’s been rainy and cold and my heads been odd. I watched Poirot (which wasn’t one of the best despite having Ariadne in it) and was debating about skipping the Dungeons and Dodongos session to nap However I’m glad I did.
First off it was so fun and funny. Everyone had me laughing so hard and the things they were doing (because it was mostly a break between main quest stuff). That would’ve been great on it’s own (I certainly needed the laugh) but James had decided to bring in one of my favourite Twilight Princess characters as an NPC so my character could be research buddies with him. I dunno what power he had to decide to pick him since I’d never bought it up before but AHHH that was just so! Honestly that’s so perfect and I hope i can find stuff for him so we can get more interactions in the future.
Next time we might be doing sidequests, so I might see if Ahno can learn to ride a horse (who knows if zora and horses mix!)
Anyway now I’m gonna watch Planet Earth III and then probably nap (I’m annoyed at brain fog meaning I can’t fic and do other things like I hoped). I’m ending now with thoughts on Who but they will be spoilers so for those that haven’t seen, I hope you get to watch soon but for now there’ll be a cut.

Ok let’s start with the elephant in the room about Wild Blue Yonder. The way the cast list in the last Doctor Who magazine was [REDACTED] was an absolutely terrible idea. It made people far more hyped, thinking that people would be coming back which has probably left people feeling disappointed. Just leaving the case list as David and Catherine would’ve been much better than that.
And damnit was really their episode because they carried it so fucking hard. Once again I am so sad that there are only three episodes with these two because they’re so fantastic together.
I really enjoyed the ep because it was such a mystery from the start and even though most of the mystery’s were solved some were still there at the end. Like we still don’t know what the No Thing’s are (or if there are more of them), nor do we know about the purpose of the ship, or why it was out at the edge of the universe. But honestly I hope we get more eps with mysterious ships in the future.
And the No Thing’s themselves are so creepy, but at the same time kinda ridiculous? Especially the too long arms and crab walk. But they were so so creepy and unsettling.
That last scene on the ship though, we were so close to losing Donna and that would’ve been heartbreaking. And to have that be followed by the scene with Wilf on Earth, which was so… seeing him back was so nice but it’s so sad because his actor is gone.
I’m definitely curious by next weeks. I’m glad I didn’t end up getting a ticket for The Used cause I would’ve missed it and I’d have been so pissed
