Usually song Saturdays have at least a vague connection (even if it’s just that they were released in the same week) but these two don’t.
I’m meant to do this yesterday or earlier but didn’t have the focus or energy.
First is James Marriott’s new song, Romanticise This.
So this was released a few days ago, along with the song. The song itself is sad about a break up and the video is kinda along those lines. However everyone else in the video apart from James (his partner, a therapist, a balloon seller) are all ballooons, which leads a slight air of ridiculousness to it all.
It makes me curious how they came up with that! It’s directed by his friend Orr (who was also in the grapes video) so I’m sure it was something they both came up with together.
And yeah, James look all disheveled in this is kinda… he looks damn good.
But yeah, it’s a good song it’s just sad. I’m guessing he’ll have a new song in a month so we’ll see if that’s sad too or more upbeat.
And now by contrast there’s Set It Off’s a forever Stuck In Our Youth which is 8 years old. I’m not gonna lie I only wanted to watch this because I saw gifs on tumblr.
It’s an upbeat happy kinda song but it’s not one of my favs (I don’t know Upside Down as much as I should) which is why I missed it getting a vid. But I like the necklace and fireworks in the shape of the symbol they had for that album.
And yeah, the sole reason I watched was because of those gifs, which had Maxx and Cody shirtless. I fully expected it would be a blink and miss it type thing but they were like that the entire time. More twinky boys shirtless in videos is needed! Maybe I’ll see if I can get good pics to make a icon (and work on a wip with Maxx soon because he’s just so pretty)

I was also going to do an update post separately as well today but I’ve been feeling headachy from the storm. Soundstage post tomorrow (either combined with or separate to the monthly round up, most likely the latter)
