I’m now on the train back home, so thoughts on today ahoy (part 2)

So in the edit to the last post I said I’d decided to try and go, so I went to the station. The 12:05 train was still cancelled but the 12:35 wasn’t. I considered just heading home but decided to just stay and see.

The train came but it was full, standing room only, which was kinda the last thing I needed. Ugh. I got there and didn’t go to the places I hoped cause time and ugh. There was roadworks, two lots, on the road the venue so there was detours which I thought almost made me lost. (Especially since I’d never been in the area it was before)

I got there in the end but it was odd, I could just walk in, there was no checks or anything. At this point I was thirsty so just went to grab a drink but I ended up having to pay cause I didn’t have a drinks token yet (and ugh £3.20 for a tiny bottle of coke). I seriously almost left but someone I knew was there and he kept me company and helped me get my goodie bag and such. (The goodie bag including a drinks token but only one).:We even played a game of Mario Party which was fun if a bit laggy, likely due to all the Wi-Fi gaming in the air.

Another annoyance? The tournament stuff didn’t start until after 12, if I’d got there on time I’d have seen that, then went to town and went to the museum and such and came back. Ugh.

I stayed much longer than I expected, mostly just to see if I won anything in the raffle (alas I didn’t). But at least I had the free drink of cider and had some pizza (they didn’t give much, but at least it was fresh cause the place had a pizza oven!)

The goodie bag had some… random items. First off there was the bag itself, which is a bright red tote bag, which held a few things which are: a cardboard Mario hat, some Animal Crossing stickers, two badges (cappy and one of KK’s head), a Mario figure (of Mario), a Mario plush (of bob-bomb which is perhaps my fav thing, these seemed to be randomised), a fuzzy yoshi egg (which I think is meant to hold a game, but seems like it’d be better as a coin purse and a ring fit adventure…. Flannel. Yeah that one is really odd. There was also a lanyard and an event card which looks pretty nice.

I got to the station and, thankfully, boots had some halloumi wraps cheap so I got them before getting on the train.

But yeah today has just been so… tiring and annoying.

I still wanna come back to Birmingham before the museum exhibit ends but ugh, I kinda wish it was still there for the Set It Off gig instead.

When I get home I know I’m gonna flop and hopefully doze because ugh, but I just know I wouldn’t be able to settle.
