So ye, it seems creative vibes are back and for the last few days I’ve stayed up late so maybe I’m back to myself a bit.

I’m hoping to get something in season of kink though I’m not sure what yet. The ones I’ve done have been pretty random with no set order in mind (plus the ones I’ve started are too) so… we’ll see.

I finished Omno on Thursday and it’s a very pretty game with all the different kinds of animals. Plus it was done by one person! Which is impressive. I got most of the achievements, but I dunno if I’ll get the rest (a cause when I checked to do chapters it made out like it would delete what I had so… eep).

Last night I did another level of Lego marvel 2 and yay it had Thor! Though it was a bit of an odd level. It was three different sections each with different teams, and it felt like each section could’ve been it’s own level. After all they all have a boss and so it would’ve been fitting but… I dunno why it didn’t.

Causa the Who magazine I got something called The Doctor Who Atlas so I’ve read a bit of that. It’s similar to the Star Wars atlas from a few years back. There’s double page spreads of places with notes about events that happened there. Some of them are obvious editions, Gallifrey, Skaro, a LOT of stuff on Earth, but others are from single episodes. Marines, Orphan 55, Vortis. These are places I wouldn’t have expected to get included. (It’s odd that there’s not Peladon, and I’m sure there’s an obvious omission that I can’t place) But it is nice that there’s stuff from the old and new series.

Today has ended up being tiring, because I decided to go and see Shang-Chi (and then got a few things from Iceland and Home Bargains). Before I mention the film, it was nice to see some spooky things in Poundland and Home Bargains. And it was a surprise that there’s a new cex there (I kinda wish I’d picked up the ring blu ray boxset but ah well).

Thoughts on the film ahoy.

It was strange being in the cinema again, for the first time since lockdown started. The cinema has been clearly done up, though for some reason it’s closed from Monday-Thursday, so it’s good that I went today.

There were two trailers before it (which this cinema didn’t used to do but started doing awhile back). The first was for Eternals which seems fitting and I’m definitely curious about it (and like their strange ship). Then there was one for the new Ghostbusters film and it seems a bit… I dunno.

I walked into Shang-Chi mostly blind, other than knowing (from the Lego sets) that there was a dragon and a few little things. I enjoyed it, though I’m glad I went for the earlier showing. There is a fair amount of subtitles but that makes sense and it feels fitting.

There were some nice cameos and I’m curious what Wong was doing at that fight club thing and it makes sense for him to appear at the end and in the mid credits thing.

Morris! I love Morris, he looks so cute and soft and a friend. Disney uk, please get the plush in.

I think my favourite part was the bus part, which managed to be exciting and funny at the same time, and Shang-Chi himself is pretty hot. (And I like that there wasn’t a romance subplot between him and Katy shoehorned in.) and I liked that it had Michelle Yeoh in! And she didn’t die, which I was worried about. And the creatures all looked awesome.

I’m not sure I liked how many flashbacks were scattered throughout the film though. At times they felt fitting at others they just felt a bit random. And although it was a neat twist that Shang-Chi actually killed his first target, it was a shame nothing came of that,

Gonna snug and maybe watch stuff or game before going zz, which might be earlyish tonight. I hope to stay up tomorrow, because I have a ticket for the Coheed and The Used’s livestream which I’d almost forgot to get.

I'm glad you finally got to see the film. I loved the dragon, and agree, Morris was fantastic and should be merch.

Is your cinema an independent? It doesn't seem to be actually open very often.
