Jan. 2nd, 2019 12:11 pmSo the rest of yesterday was mostly spent watching stuff. I watched Jungle Book (well half watched), Inside Out and then it was the New Year Doctor Who special. (So the next few paras are slightly spoilery)
Now I’ve really liked this new series. I’ve really ended up liking 13 (which is always a concern when a new Doctor starts) and I’ve ended up liking the new companions. But the last ep of the series felt a bit... off for some reason. But this, this felt suitably epic and it makes me hate we have to wait a year for more.
There was a lot to like about it. The dalek was suitably creepy (and now I want to read tentacle fic damnit). I enjoyed the reference to unit (though wtf funding cuts? There’s been an alien invasion of some sort at least once a year in the Who universe, cutting funding seems stupid). And I loved when the Dalek backed off once they heard she was the Doctor. I love Graham and Ryan’s relationship and how it’s changed from the series opener.
The only thing I didn’t like was the line about having a ‘conversation’. The scene felt really forced and heavy handed (and took away from the action). But other than that it was my favourite of the series. Again, I really wish they weren’t skipping this year, they should keep the momentum going.
I’m gonna be watching some Who soon, Utopia/The Sound Of The Drums/The Last Of The Time Lords so I can watch season 2 of Torchwood.
I also want on Assassins Creed Odyssey last night (I’m still laughing at finding Testikles the other night) and the new quest is just so frustrating cause it involves a fortissimos I died a lot ugh. Damnit.
In other things I’m gonna go on my laptop, possibly tomorrow, to get rid of some of my icons on here. I’m not gonna do any Turmion fics, so I may as well get rid of the icons of them and replace them with some of my killjoy ones from lj (at least eyepatch Ray and Kobra Kid, and I need to look for a Fun Ghoul one.)
I’ve just got back from taking Naryu to the vet for her free check up. She was such a good girl and so well behaved. She didn’t bark even when she heard another dog barking (odd cause she barks at any animal on tv) and she was just so good in general. After that I popped in Sainsbury’s but didn’t get much. I have finally got Black Panther though so will watch that soon.
Right, since 2019 is (of course) the Killjoy year I’m gonna do some Killjoy fics soon. I started a pairing poll on twitter but with four options it’s limited (and at time of writing, surprisingly Jet Star/Kobra Kid is winning) so I’m gonna do a better one here. It’s just gonna be the four Killjoy pairings (so I’m not putting in Korse, Doctor Death Defying or Show Pony, as much as I like them and moment if you have thoughts).
I’ve not done a poll in ages so...

1: Choose Your Own
This is, as the name implies, a choose your own adventure featuring high school Mikey. There’s a lot of options and pairings and it’s just so awesome and creative to have done it. I’ve been through it three times and loved the endings I’ve got (with Gerard, Bob and Ray).
2: Welcome To The Darker Side
This is a fic someone did for me for bandom-holidays (I’m currently in the process of reading all the fics but they are awesome so far, go read the Collection. It’s basically Ray watching the Ways and realising he wants them (and that they want him) and it’s just... ngh.
Third fic is tricky. I wanna rec one of the ones that I mentiomed in my last post, as being one of my happy place ones that I go back to again and again. Alas, though, many are back on lj and friends locked (with people not checking their ljs to add new people to see). However there is one, so I’m going to rec it.
3 Daddy’s Hot Chick
This is the third part in a series (all linked in the notes, I recced the first one in my picspams post last month). It’s a series based on the manip of Mikey in girls clothes. Mikey is MTF and and has a sex change over the course of the stories. In the last part she goes to see Gee which he’s on tour and Frank catches them (and then a hot threesome ensues).
4: Breathing Or Sleeping Or Screaming Or Waiting
Now I am not a Frerard boy, but I got talking to someone on twitter recently and decided to check out their stuff. This is the first one of theirs I read, a Frank/Gerard/Grant Morrison one and, holy fuck. It is so amazingly hot and hit so many of my kinks. Just... wow.
5: Left Leg Yellow
So recently I did a re read of fics on lj, mostly Waycest and stuff, but after Gerard’s comment on pissing I searched this one out again. It feels appropriate to end on this since it’s Party Poison/Show Pony and ngh.
So yeah, there’s 5 (hey it said at least!). Now I’m gonna have some noms, sort a small food shop and maybe watch a film.
