Your journey nears it’s end

So the weekend has been mostly spent relaxing, although Saturday did require me calming a situation with my loves (because yes, I have two of them). It was odd to actually be a calm one like that. Thankfully everything is ok so it’s all good.

We did watch the Álex Cross film (which was pretty good) after the food shop came. (If anyone has Sainsbury’s cards they don’t want send away!) Parma violet cider is ugh.

Yesterday was mostly watching random things, though I did doze off towards the end of a film.

Today there was footage from the new Star Wars film released, which was what was shown at D23. It does look suitably epic and I have some many questions. Like why are there so many imperial class Star Destroyers? Why is there no Lego Resistance b-wing? Why does the resistance have no capital ships? And, of course, what’s the deal with Rey? Vision? Clone? Twin? What’s the deal?

I’m sure we’ll find out more soon and that there’ll be another trailer.

Today has continued the irritating saga of mum and her dumb bag. To recap, mum wants a lulu Guinness bag. It was in the sale awhile back, but I told her that no, she couldn’t have it. The money wasn’t there and she doesn’t use the ones she has. However it became a fixation. In exasperation I’ve offered before to get it her, with the reminder it would effect the food shop and each time she’s seen sense. I’d told her she could have it if my assessment led to back pay, but that was a mistake as I’ve heard nothing and that only deepens the fixation. However the sale is over so I thought it would be.

So about two weeks ago the bag showed up on eBay for the sale price. I made the same statements as before, eventually ending in me telling her, last week, that she could have it but itdmean that we’d not go to Birmingham. She relented and I thought that was that.

Of course as soon as we walked to the station Friday she was on about it again and it got mentioned a bit more. I did mention on the train I’d submit an offer for it, but nothing was said further... until today. Before we walked Naryu she bought it up again and, in frustration, I made an offer on it (since it was buy now or make an offer) not thinking it’d be accepted. Of course it has and, unlike other eBay things, it’s not pay after delivery and there’s not enough money for the cursed thing.

I’ve not told her this and I’m not intending too, though I’m so passed off about her insane obsession with this thing!

Ugh.

Anyway, now I’m curled up and I’m gonna watch Doctor Who later tonight, starting season 18 (I still haven’t finished the special features disc of 10 though will tomorrow).

I can't believe your mum is still after that bag. Especially so when you've told her so often that it's too pricey.

What cards are Sainburys doing? I'm there quite often but haven't been given any. Are they for specific buys?

Me either, it’s just so infuriating. Any time I seem to have gotten through to her about it never lasts. Like I’ve said to her, I bet if she got it she’d either not use it or go ‘no, send it back’ and then I’d have to strangle her with it

They just started last Wednesday, they’re called Heroes and they’re a mix of Disney, Pixar, Marvel and Star Wars cards. (Oddly the marvel ones are animated and not live action which seems odd)
