shadowhive: (Bulbasaur Bulba)
So yesterday’s Pokemon direct started with an announcement about a mystery dungeon remake. The mystery dungeons can be fun in a different kind of way but also they tend to be more... well basic. I’m happy for the people that are more excited though.

When that happened I figured the rest of the direct would be about that, but it was actually little more than a trailer and a release date. No, the main thing was the new dlc for Sword and Shield.

Now Pokemon has never done dlc before. The most they’ve done is bug fixes and the occasional gift Pokemon, so for them to do dlc was a surprise to be sure, but a welcome one. The dlc is two new areas, although they were vague on the exact size of them. More old Pokemon are back though, which people have been clamouring for (including my boy bulbasaur!). There’s also new galarian Pokemon, including, it seems, the legendary birds (a first for legendary variants) and also slowpoke! I love slowpoke, they’re one of my favourite Pokemon, so the announcement made me happy, especially with the addition that we’d get one in an update the same day. (He’s so adorable! But it seems odd to release him and also say ‘oh he can’t evolve without items from the expansions)

The expansions aren’t due until June and autumn, so there’s no rush for me to order them (you get outfits when you do but I don’t see the point at the moment). The expansions are also cheaper than a full new game, which is good, but I’m curious as to what the new content is gonna be (and I still need to get the smash season pass).

Anyway, the other main thing from yesterday was MCR being cryptic fuckers on twitter again. They posted a video of symbols, which, apart from a uk flag, I didn’t recognise. However someone on twitter recognised them as the Theban alphabet and translated it to being June 10th. So what does it mean? A tour? An album release date? A one off gig? The timing is off since it’s summer (and this festival time) but the date is a Wednesday so doesn’t align with one.

I guess we’ll see, though I wish they would just spit it out (even though it’s rude).

Rest of the day was spent reading uni stuff and watching tv (Voyager which wasThe Omega Directive which I love, Elementary, Death In Paradise, New Amsterdam and Father Brown). I did a little gaming on Elder Scrolls online and Stardew though not much and watched a Lucifer ep.

I was quite hungry and would’ve had Doritos if I’d had some. Since I didn’t I decided to do one of my Galaxy’s Edge recipes. I didn’t have some of the stuff for it, but I had the basics which were gnocchi and beans. I’d also got garlic from a recent co-op trip for it so off I went to give it a try.

Naturally it went badly.

First off, the garlic was awol. It was nowhere to be found. I spent at least 10-15 mins looking for it but found nothing so I eventually just gave up. As I waited for the kettle to boil I grabbed the beans from the cupboard. The can didn’t have a ring pull so I had to use the can opener. Well, I say use, it was a disaster. It didn’t seem to want to work and I later found from my fb it was due to me having it wrong, but even when I put it right it wouldn’t open. I had to resort to using a knife on one of the gaps it made to open it up enough to get the beans out.

So yeah, it was a pretty much disaster. At least it tasted alright and filled me up, but ugh.

Time to head out and take the pup for a walk (and to see the horses since the weather seems to be ok).
