The next frightening adventure
Oct. 22nd, 2019 11:50 pmI’ve not been too fond of this week so far. Apart from the Star Wars trailer last night (which I stayed up till almost 3 for) it’s been exhausting.
On Monday I had to go and get mum’s meds. I got some glasses from tk and a little Lego set from Sainsburys (yay for the toys sale, I’d missed having something to build on my birthday) but there was something wrong with one of the meds so I was told to go back for them. Which, ugh. It’s quite a distance and is annoying.
Going there made me tired and I ended up doing minecraft with saur so had no time to rest or read. It also took awhile for fic brain to get in gear.
Today I was gonna do uni reading but mum came upstairs and messed in her room, making lots of noise. My head aches too so I had to give up and take a meltlet for it. She mentioned sainsburys clothing sale starting but didn’t say she meant she wanted to go until we were walking Naryu which was too late. So ugh, we’re going there tomorrow. I’m gonna take a Thursday and just recharge. After walking Naryu I’m gonna take my book and bundle up.
I went in Home Bargains to check the Halloween stuff and got a plate and a light. They also had force link figures so I got one. The rest of the day was waiting on the food shop and napping.
On Monday night I watched the next Who story which was Mindwarp.
Mindwarp is a rather unusual episode, in that we don’t know how much of what we saw was true or a fabrication. (Apparently that was a question mark on set too.) It also is notable for having Brian Blessed in it and I really enjoy him in it. It features a returning villian too in the form of Sil though I’ve not watched his prior episode in so long so can’t comment on it. It’s also got the most shocking departure of any Who companion, which I thought was really well done. It’s also interesting seeing the time lords actively interfering in events, something that violates their non interference thing that they hold onto.
Of course since the ‘evidence’ of the episode has been tampered with any inconsistencies are attributed to it (most notably the Doctor’s attitude). It would be interesting to see the ‘real’ events in an audio story sometime.
I’m watching the special features of the story now. Next week I’m gonna try and finish the rest of the Trial so at least that’ll be one thing done.
