So today is the Blackout gig but there’s rain so I’m not heading out just yet. It kinda feels pointless heading too early for a gig, because I’d see things I’d want but couldn’t get (due to only having a small bag) and cause there’s nothing interesting enough at the Odeon (or the timing is bad). I had considered going to look for the Asylum venue so I knew where it was before the gig, but because it’s been raining I don’t wanna get caught in it.

So for now I’m just gonna make a little post before heading out.

Last few days since the last post haven’t been terribly eventful. I had hoped to work on fic, though my focus wasn’t really there. I also did read some more of the high republic graphic novel but, again, got distracted.

On Wednesday night I decided to put on the special features on the Ring disc. It feels kinda strange that, of the three special feature things none of them were with any of the people actually involved in making it. Maybe I’m spoiled with Doctor Who boxsets and their special features, but it would have been nice to hear from the people that worked on it. I’d say the second one was the most interesting, because it was a lady talking about the director of the film, which has made me curious to look up some of his other stuff. The first was with people discussing the films in general while the third was a video essay on the themes.

While the third one I felt was the least engaging of the three it did bring up something interesting. There was a mention of adaptions done in other countries and it mentioned that there was a Korean one, American one and a British one. Now I thought I’d misheard, because I had not heard of a British adaption of Ring but it wasn’t mentioned again until a brief mention of an audio one at the end by the BBC.

Intrigued I did a search and nothing came up, large because ‘ring bbc audio adaption’ bring up Lord of the rings instead. It wasn’t on BBC sounds either so I figured there wasn’t much hope of finding it, until I did a last ditch search on YouTube and bam I found it

So I decided to settle down and give it a listen. (Thoughts under the cut)

Yesterday was an uneventful day, though I did finish a chapter of the uni book. The main thing yesterday was the start of kids on brooms thing that Nate set up and it went pretty well, even though my head was a little hazy beforehand. Though now I wish there was a magic build a bear.

After some annoyance with mum over shoes (she’d seen some yesterday, decided she wanted some and had seemingly dedicated the morning to finding them) I put on the next from the freebie with the recent Who magazine (which was pretty good, now I’m curious about counter measures).

A package had came this morning and I was curious what it was. Turns out it was some of the Ranboo merch (but not the stuff I ordered first) and I’d missed the notification. Still it’s good it’s here and I’ll have to try them on soon.

Anyway now the weather has cleared so I’m gonna debate exactly when to go. Hopefully tonight won’t go as badly as the last gig, but we’ll see.
