Winds shaping things

shadowhiveI ended up getting really tired last night and dozed off shortly after the post last night.
Today I woke feeling better, which is good. It still took me awhile to get focussed on uni stuff, but I did two sections. One was about glaciers and glacier landforms. The other was about aeolian processes (lands shaped by the wind, mainly deserts). To my surprise the last part of that included a section on Star Wars! It was using the set used for Mos Espa as a reference point as dunes are encroaching on it. I was amazed it was still there after this long (as far as I could tell it still is).

no_tags is starting soon. I’ve been told it’s good, so I’m gonna do it. I have prompts in mind already, so I hope there’s something that inspires me.
The snow is still there out in the back garden, but everywhere else it’s starting to melt and turn slushie. Boo. If it’s around tomorrow I might try and get more pics.
I’ve wrote a few more paragraphs to the Ray/tentacles fic. It has two distinct sections now and might have a third (which I’m debating back and forth on). We’ll see what I settle on.
I’ve posted a few recent fics on ao3 now with my last one posted yesterday. When I got my kudos email from ao3 it already had so many, which is... I dunno. I’m kinda annoyed by it, because it just shows that a lot of mcr reads only seem to care about Frerard (and, again they prefer kudos to comments which is kinda annoying).
Ah well.
I might be co writing a fic with someone, but we’ll see how it goes.
I’m gonna go on Battlefront tonight since it’s been updated with Dooku, hopefully I’ll get to try him. I might do some other gaming too but I dunno yet. I checked how long I’ve spent on ESO the other night and it’s 578 hours... over 24 days. Fuck.
There’s gonna be a new The Umbrella Academy trailer tomorrow, yay! Hopefully there’ll be something I can use for an icon from it.
I found out Remington from Palaye has dislocated his knee (probably from climbing around like a monkey) so I hope that means he’ll still do the gig next week. I guess we’ll see.
There’s a Welsh love meme thing going round so I put up my name if you wanna leave comments (when it’s unscreened).

Date: 2019-01-23 09:57 pm (UTC)Yeah, Frerard is kind of the juggernaut pairing, but what you gonna do, you know? I'm less likely to write it than more or less anything else so I feel the pain (it's part of why I like the bandom challenges, people tend to comment more through those, even when it's non-standard pairings). I get it though, it can be frustrating.
WHEEEEE new trailer! I'm hopeful about it.
I'll cross fingers that Remington is okay and just all strapped up <3

Date: 2019-01-23 10:08 pm (UTC)Back on lj it felt like there was a more even split between Frerard and Waycest (it felt like Ray and Bob got more love too though they were still neglected by comparison). Now on ao3, it can be just pages and pages of Frerard with only a handful of anyone else. Ugh. It’s annoying. Yeah it was nice with bandom holidays to get a bit more love. Hopefully no tags will lead to some too!

Date: 2019-01-25 06:13 pm (UTC)I'm pretty much echoing what WP said about frerard. I guess it's not going to change now. I don't actually dislike the pairing at all, just I much prefer others.
I'm glad you're joining no tags. What I will say is, try to be around when the prompts go live as that way you'll have the best chance of actually having a choice of what you want to write. And be prepared to be flexible in case you end up with someone you haven't written before which is always fun but challenging.
