So last night was pretty unproductive. I wrote a bit, but after eating and watching The Voice I essentially crashed. Peopleing is hard.

Anyway, snowflake got posted early this morning so I’m gonna post it now. I may fic more today hopefully (I was gonna do the second half of the fic round up at some point too but I may leave it a few days)

Day 13

In your own space, set some goals for the coming year. They can be fannish or not, public or private. Leave a comment in this post saying you did it. Include a link to your post if you feel comfortable doing so.

So I kinda did this when I set myself some goals for the year. The basic one being do at least one fic a month (which if January is anything to go by...)

2019 is a big year for fandom stuff so there’s a lot coming. For MCR 2019 is a big year because it’s the year Danger Days was set, so expect more fic in the series based on that. For Star Wars there is more of Resistance coming as well as Episode IX and more Clone Wars. Then there’s Star Trek Discovery (starting in a few days), Shadowhunters (the last series boo) and the Umbrella Academy series starting next month. Then there’s films, like Avengers Endgame, Captain Marvel, Detective Pikachu and The Lego Movie 2 (I am sure there’s more that have slipped my mind). Game wise there’s ooblets and a load of other indie games as well as Animal Crossing for the Switch.

Anyway, though, back to goals. I’m gonna make a bullet point list of goals. Some have been done before, some haven’t.
*Continue writing at least one thing a month, unless something super major happens
*Try and get to more gigs. I only went to one last year and the gig itch is strong. Annoyingly so many seem to be not coming to Birmingham or are too much, though you know if Adam Lambert does a tour I’m gonna be all over that
*Watch all of the above things, which will be easy
*In March do the thing that raveninthewind recced in their snowflake post yesterday, 31 days of fic recs
*Write in at least one new to me fandom. I dunno if writing something for the tv Umbrella Academy series counts (cause you know I’m gonna do something for it, come on). I’m thinking’s of writing a thing with Palaye Royale though I’m unsure what yet (because hot brothers in a band= yes!)
*Do a complete Clone Wars rewatch before the new eps come out
*Finish at least season 2 of the Torchwood rewatch. It will depend if I have the strength to watch Children Of Earth
*Do my Bleach rewatch
*Finish games, at least one a month. (Also do more on the switch when I find the other games)
*Do a post each week with thoughts on Discovery (And Umbrella Academy and maybe Shadowhunters too)
*Read more of the Star Wars novels from my pile of doom and finish the graphic novels I have (and try and get more)
*Get the Coheed DVD’s
*Finally rewatch the MCR DVD’s. And the other band DVD’s (The Used, Tokio Hotel, the last Bullet For My Valentine and Black Veil Brides blu rays)
*Watch more stuff on Shudder
*Try and sort icons out so I have at least one more Star Wars one

I think that’s all, though I’m sure I’m missing a thing or two.

I did have a general one which is to put myself out there more and I think snowflake has done that because of all the new people (hi new people!) and I’ve started posting on ao3 again. And speaking of ao3, I’m going to continue to comment on everything I read (so since I’m going through a few people’s fic expect loads of comment emails, sorry!)

I’m also gonna try and go more to the Saturday Nintendo events. There’s one a week arranged by the cute boy, but I know I can’t manage going to Birmingham that much. If I go once a month that should be good. Other than that, non-Fannish wise just keep up with uni stuff.

(And related to the list, would anyone be interested in Palaye fic? I’m not sure what it would be yet so...)

Today’s plan is gonna be to write more, continue the Enterprise run and basically watch more stuff. I’m hoping to do the Resident Evil 2 demo tonight too (cause Leon) and either game something else or watch more Black Lake (depending on tiredness levels cause subtitles)

Also feel free to take a look at yesterday’s bandom prompt thing for snowflake. There’s 3 prompts so far.

Finishing video games... a noble goal and one I should probably set for myself too considering how many unfinished games I have piling up >.>;

Thanks! Oh man, I feel that. I have so many games on my Xbox that need finishing or starting. Because so many are indie games (and so some are short) I’m gonna try and go through them. I’ve tried to hold back on getting more but sales call to me (and I ended up winning a bunch of games before Christmas which didn’t help)

I missed out on his first solo tour cause it sold out super quick (like within an hour). I hope he does another one for the new album. Queen is super expensive which ugh. When he did a performance on strictly I just flailed over his pretty

Thanks! I might do, I’m a bit useless though. I decided at the start of the year I’d make monthly goals which are mostly just general stuff. So I’ll see!

I am SO with you when it comes to Detective Pikachu! I want to see that movie so badly!

I was a little uncertain about it at first when I heard about it, but the trailer just looks amazing! I want all the Pokemon!

I'm still miffed they didn't ask Sir Patrick to voice Detective Pikachu in the game (there was a tiny little campaign for it and I SO WOULD HAVE BEEN DOWN FOR THAT OMG) but I'm trying to look past that and ACK IT'S SO CUTE! I loved the game and the movie will probably be just as good. I mean everyone was like WHAT THE HELL at first but then everyone also suddenly loved the movie trailer and no one knew why, lol! I soooo hope Gengar and/or Haunter make an appearance! I mean they're the tricksters of the Pokémon universe, it would be downright foolish if they weren't in there somewhere!

It was mostly on Twitter and done by only a handful of people, sadly... it never caught on although a few websites made fun of a talking Pikachu and the fact that people "suggested Patrick Stewart for the role". I believe it happened after the Japanese trailer for the game had dropped and everyone wondered who'd voice the English-speaking Pikachu and since the Japanese one had a deep and rich voice already as well (and people were freaking out), a few people were like "WHY NOT PATRICK STEWART?" lol I'd have SCREAMED if they had hired him. I'm pretty sure he'd have agreed to do it, it would have been right up his "I want to do radically different things in my career now" alley!

I haven't finished the game either, ahem. I need to get back to it! Ah, here's a nice goal for 2019.

Maybe Sir Patrick could voice a talking Gengar. Or Haunter. OMG *flails wildly* That would be even BETTER than Pikachu! lol (I just have this thing for Sir Patrick crossing over in other fandoms I like, I lost it already when he voiced a character in that CGI TMNT movie a few years back.)

I think the keep putting yourself out there one is great too. Not just in a fannish sense but in rl, too. It's so easy to get stuck in a comfortable rut, so it's great you're making plans.

Thanks! Yeah my fic creativity lately has been really high for some reason. (It gets like that sometimes, I remember last year I did about 4 fics over a weekend in a massive creative burst. I’ve been close to that this weekend due to the Ray prompt thing)

Yeah, I’ve been nervous about that, especially stuff like posting back to ao3 again, but you guys have been so nice (and I’m back to regular kudos emails which is nice?)

Irl is harder, mostly causa the twin demons of anxiety/depression and money. I’m gonna try and go to other Nintendo meets (like I mentioned Saturday) but anything else is... *shrigs*
