So there’s another month gone… somehow.
Again it’s another month of doing something for most things, which is good. I do have a tendency to get a bit antsy in the last days if I don’t, which did lead to a few things being done.
I still haven’t read free comic book day books which sucks cause they’re like… right there and I haven’t touched them. But I did read the Fantastic 4 issue I picked up from Smiths. It’s a reprinting and has two issues in it and it was pretty good (and had Johnny shirtless which was a plus, though his facial hair…). The next issue should be out now so I’m gonna look for it.
Those Hundred Thousand Lights was another thing I read, which I picked up at comic book day. It was pretty good and yay for having a same sex couple and also a non-binary Nautolan (and a funny droid). Again whenever I read High Republic stuff it makes me wanna read more, and I did get a book from the sale, but my reading ability is… off.
I ended listening to a few of the Torchwood audios I have, mostly cause they’re only an hour (compared to other Who audios which tend to be 2+). They are all pretty varied (only Ghost Mission and Goodbye Picaldily share characters) and they were pretty good. Ghost Mission was perhaps my fav of them (and The Vigil the weakest).
I also had an audible code from Seapeekay so I listened to Unlicensed which is by the guys that made Night Vale. I did like the opening so I am gonna listen to more, it’s just a matter of when. (Again, focus has been off)
Plans for this month
*Watch the Stranger Things finale
*Finish a fic from the prompt table (I had over a dozen started but..)
*Finish Hell Motel
*Finish reading Clown In A Cornfield
*Start next Read Christie (Crooked House) and hopefully read other things
*At least two cinema trips, possibly three
*Finish Donkey Kong Bananza
I’m sure I have other things I wanna do but mind is blank, as always

Thursday I had to run down to Home Bargains to get some stuff. I popped in Game and got a cute lil Cinamoroll Funko (he even has a lil cake!) and they had the Gelatinous. Ube they did for the Dungeons And Dragons film on offer so I picked that up too. From home bargains I picked up a rock painting kit and a colouring book, then I picked up a lil furby thing. I was only gonna check the price (cause it wasn’t labelled) but it wasn’t in the system so they had to get someone to sort it and then I felt too bad to say no. So now I have a cute lil furry furblet friend.
Since it’s August now the new Shudder listings got posted and ugh, you can tell the taglines are copy pasted between regions. How do I know? The uk one’s tagline mentioned killer clowns but the uk line up has none. By comparison the us one had at least two (including Clown In A Cornfield, I dunno why we don’t get it at the same time considering it’s shudders own thing)
Also yay the MCC cards are finally in the country so hopefully they’ll be here soon. (And I just checked tracking and it says Monday Yayy)
Mums friend is coming Monday which is annoying but I’ll be able to use her bus ticket to pick up some Iceland stuff.
Today’s plans are Seapeekay stream, hopefully fic, then Proms and Marple.
I might try and make a post later, but it’s a coin flip if it’s a fic or a post processing thoughts/feels.

Date: 2025-08-02 03:57 pm (UTC)And I love seeing you use your cinema card :D I'm just back from watching The Naked Gun, and while I can't recommend as such, it wasn't a bad way to spend an hour or so-- it's a very short film.
I've also just been to Iceland on the way home, so hope you get some nice goodies, too.

Date: 2025-08-02 04:58 pm (UTC)Yeah I’ve only used it the once so far but hopefully will more this month (at least twice). Oh nice! The funny thing I might see The Naked Gun but not at the cinema with my card (since me and mum’ll be going to Birmingham and she wants to see it so it’ll be easier to just pop in the odeon there). Yeah I think the originals are pretty short too
Oh nice! I usually at least get some of the pasties and pizzas (and party food if there’s good stuff) but I don’t get to go too often (and I prefer to do it instore and not online so I dont have to struggle fitting stuff in the freezer after getting too much
