It’s the only way to be sure

Turns out they had slipped down behind my bed and were tucked under something so had been easy to miss when I first felt around there. So that means. I can see ok yipee!
My eyes were still a bit achy from using the others so I decided not to see Episode III in the cinema, which sucks cause I wanted to but the timing has really been so… ugh.
Good things yesterday was some mail came. The postman had a few things to deliver but instead of handing them over in one go handed over one, then slipped the other two through the door (so he came back three times which was odd). The mail was a fox hoodie I back pad on kickstarter last year (with some pins and stickers) which looks so pretty and had a nice package. There was a book, Appointment With Death and other plays. Lastly there was the new Doctor Who magazine which has a great cover of 15 with Mr Ring-a-Ding (and has previews for the coming eps, but I feel I’ve not learned anything really other than being most excited for The Interstellar Song Contest).
Today I managed to, finally, read Rise Of Hellfire issue 2 which I’ve had sitting around for about two weeks? (At least). I’m glad I read it cause it was so good and I’m looking forward to how the rest will go. I can tell I’ll be sad it’s only 4 issues.
I also started Andor after waiting a few days. They put up 3 eps and I’ve only watched the first (I might watch the next one later or tomorrow). So far it’s been pretty good with Cassian stealing a prototype ship, incompetent Rebels and Mon in new fancy outfits. And, of course, the Empire being utterly terrifying in wanting to ‘relocate’ an entire civilisation. Considering the Ghorman massacre is a known event… it’s gonna go horribly.
Also today was the latest Doctor Who ep and I managed to avoid spoilers for the ep. If you want to watch but haven’t yet do not read further.
The Well is my fav ep of the season so far. It’s managed to beat Rogue as my fav 15 ep so far.
Why? Because it is terrifying.
It’s funny that it starts with the Doctor and Belinda in the tardis (clearly right after Lux) trying again to get her home (and playing the traditional earth ballad of Toxic) before ending up on a spaceship, before descending down to a planet with a team of… well it’s not exactly clear what they are? But basically they’re a commando team sent to check in on a mining operation that’s gone silent for 15 days.
The vibes are very much like Aliens, they even talk about nuking the place from orbit.
What follows is pretty scary on its own. Everyone is found dead, either broken or shot and there’s only one survivor, Aliss. The ep is basically trying to find out both what happened and why she is the only survivor.
Honestly the whole thing would be terrifying on its own but then there’s the reveal of what the planet was originally called and instantly you know that this isn’t just a random monster of the week, but a sequel to what is (arguably) the scariest episode in the whole series. (And yeah I saw someone suggest that this was what it was about but I wasn’t sure you know? But as soon as the name was said I went ‘fuck’)
Honestly though it was so scary and you still don’t really know what the thing actually is, or what it wants. It says something to the doctor but all we hear is whispers so we don’t actually know. And then there’s the ending and we think there’s been a heroic sacrifice only for it to all be for nothing.
(And that’s not even mentioning no one knowing Earth or humans and Mrs Flood being in the final scene too)
But damn. Huge props for all the cast, but especially Aliss’ actress, Rose Ayling-Ellis. The character wasn’t originally written as being deaf but the way her deafness is written in is so well done you’d have thought it had been the original intent.
But ahhh yeah that’s definitely my fav ep of the whole season so far.
Now though I’m gonna go on Oblivion, then watch a film (unless my eyes get tired) though I also might try and get some words out too.
