And there’s also no consistency

Yesterday I didn’t do too much because I felt a bit off. And then in the night I ended up feeling sick. At first I felt hungry so I ate something but then as soon as I finished it my stomach lurched and felt woozy, so I ended up heading to bed early. Ugh.
I woke and felt a little better but the sick feeling was still there. Thankfully the weather has gone bad because I’m not not sure I’d have been ok taking Naryu for a walk.
My tummy has settled a bit now but I’m not confident it’ll last long.
Today was the last ep of Picard so thoughts ahoy.
A few days ago I said to mum that there were two season finales this week: The Mandalorian and Picard and I was only excited for one.
Honestly going in I wasn’t terribly looking forward to it, because it felt like there were so many issues with everything that was going on. That’s an issue that has happened with every season of Picard though, that they start with an interesting idea and yet by the end they manage to… not do great with it.
I think that is a thing that’s very much part of Picard as a whole, especially because there were interviews before season 1 saying that didn’t want it to be more tng and look how it ended up? That and this season has kinda felt like neither season 1 and 2 really mattered (wheres Elnor and Soji? What was the deal with the anomaly in season 2? Laris only appearing at the start and being forgotten? Picard leaving starfleet prior to season 1 only to not bring it up here? What’s the deal with Seven and Raffi?)
And there’s been a few things this season that have been seemingly forgotten too. The changlings lost importance the moment Vadic’s ship was destroyed yet are still out there (and only got a throw away mention this time). Janeway was name dropped several times and yet she doesn’t show up even as a cameo.
That’s not to say this ep didn’t have some good things, there were some nice moments. Crusher being a badass with the Enterprise’s weapons, Troi sensing Riker and being able to save them. Seven taking the Titan’s bridge and being a badass. Tuvok returning and being ok! And Chekhov’s son being President?
(It does feel like we will get a Captain Seven series, whichId like to see but I hope that if they do it’s more episodic and less of a mess)
I guess it just feels a bit… I dunno. The season should’ve gone in another direction as a whole. Jack comes across as so unlikeable (and it still feels bizarre Crusher would keep him a secret so long). A Borg cube hiding, undetected, in Jupiter feels odd (but at least it seemingly means that this assimilation thing was contained to the solar system). Yeah it’s a good visual but come on.
I did enjoy the ep more than I expected to though, but yeah, I can’t help thinking it was kind of an odd thing as a whole.
I dunno what my plan for the rest of the day is gonna be now, it kinda depends how I end up feeling. At the moment I feel pretty tired so I might just bundle and nap
