So on Wednesday I finished up Sonic Frontiers (so all that’s left is stuff that’s achievement hunting that I may or may not do at some point). What’s my thoughts on it? I enjoyed it for the most part, even though some things were a bit tricky or annoying. The music for the boss fights was all so epic and awesome, you gotta love the choices they made there.

There were a few odd things though. One of the last islands felt a bit empty, being just 6 towers that you had to go between. The last boss fight also felt a bit rushed and, well, easy, especially compared to the others. But overall I did enjoy it.

I’m not sure what game I’m gonna focus on next. I feel Hi-Fi Rush works best as I’ve played it (aka doing one level at a time and taking a break) so I think something else? I might go back on ESO, or do The Chant (like I was going to) or actually get back to Resident Evil 2 before the new one comes out. (And there was a reveal of Leon in Fortnite last night which I need)

I still need to go back on Pokémon but the update to fix the issue which has worried me.

Yesterday nothing much happened really. I watched a Poirot but it was a bit eh and didn’t hold my focus. There was a Ranboo stream which was wild, because he played a game called priest simulator for the first half. Whatever you think when you hear that name trust me, the game is not that. There is no way to describe its insanity. After that he played Inscryption and it definitely makes me wanna play it. I had hoped to finish the last who ray disc but because the stream went long it was too late.

Also new taskmaster is in two weeks, yay!

I’ve been continuing to watch Voyager on pick and a few eps have been notable. One this week was Threshold which I don’t think deserves its reputation (I also thought the last bit took up much more than it did as a result). There was also Meld which shows the flaw of mind melds (and needing logic when logic isn’t there). And there’s been a few where it felt like the prime directive was a bit preachy especially because voyager’s very presence has caused a destabilising influence.

Today’s got Red Nose Day later which takes up 3 hours (and a thing on BBC2 later). I dunno if there’s anything specific happening in it, so hopefully there’s fun things. There’s also gonna be a QSMP announcement and trailer at some point today so we’ll see how that effects things.

MCC is tomorrow and I’m still debating who to watch. I should decide today or maybe tomorrow.

Today was also Picard which I just watched. Thoughts ahoy.

After last weeks ep being on the Titan I did wonder if todays ep would focus solely on Worf and Raffi. Instead it was a balance between the two stories until the very last seen.

So let’s start with them. They tried to gain access to Daystrom station to find out what else was stolen but their request was denied by their handler. They’re still asked to press on so they try and find a lead, only to find a Vulcan gangster (yep that is a surprising thing). After a confrontation and Worf’s faked death they get answered on how someone got into daystrom, so it seems that’s gonna be their next thing.

On the titan the ship is seemingly safe, with repairs being done… only for a new ship to appear with someone coming to interrogate Picard on what happens. Said person turns out to be Ro, from Ensign from TNG. At first it’s played out that maybe she’s actually a changeling imposter, but it turns out (thankfully) that she’s the real deal and is leading the investigation (including being Worf’s handler!). Her appearance was a complete surprise because I didn’t see her coming back coming but it actually ended up being touching when she shown emotion.

And then at the end changelings kill her for getting to close which is just sucky, it would’ve been great if she’d been involved more.

There’s also new info on these new changelings. They don’t revert to their usual form when killed, but also… are able to mimic organs and even blood. This means it’s a lot harder to find them (and I guess explains why the new effect is so… fleshy). Ro says they seem have infiltrated high in starfleet command which seems… why are they doing things the way they are? Why haven’t they done more damage? What is their plan?

(I also realised after originally making this post that in ds9 a changeling said there were just 4 of them in the alpha quadrant during that time… this ep has far more, so how big is this faction of theirs?

It’s still unclear why they want Jake, other than it seems he’s had nightmares since he was a child. What does that even mean? I don’t know. Could he actually be a changeling hybrid? There’s definitely more to him and it’s hard to figure out what that is.

It kinda feels like this whole thing is gonna make for an epic series but at the same time I worry it might end up being rushed. I mean DS9 had whole arcs that dealt with changeling infiltration and so to have all this wrapped up in however many eps there are left seems… but then again I guess we’ll see! I hope they are able to wrap it up and wrap it up well.

At least now Picard and Riker know about Worf and Raffi’s investigation so now they can all work together.
