So the other day Panic! At The Disco announced they were finally ending. I’d use the term breaking up but the band was basically just Brendon At The Disco at this point. How do I feel about it? As I said on twitter I don’t feel all that much about it. I kinda lost interest with Panic! when Spencer left (and my interest had diminished even before that). I’ve not even listened to the new album but I’ve heard… bad things. It’s kinda sad the band went from being so great early on to just… a vehicle for the singer

(To be honest I’m surprised Bullet For My Valentine hasn’t ended up that way)

Last night I meant to go back on The Quarry but when I opened the Xbox it wasn’t loading for me. Neither was Dead By Daylight, my other choice and it seemed there was an issue with one of the external storage things. Midna was curled on me and wouldn’t move so instead I ended up on ESO, finishing one of the High Isle main quests (yes I’m still behind on it). It was fun though and I’ll likely get back to it soon since the eso plus trail is active again.

It seems the issue with the external (which i was able to check when midna moved) was just dust, but I’ll keep my eye on it since it’s the bigger of the two externals.

Tonight was the Xbox Developer direct which was meant to be about four games, however it actually focussed on five.

First was Minecraft Legends, which looks cool but this was mainly focussed on PVP which I’m not terribly into. It’s a shame there wasn’t much other info cause it’s one of the two games I was looking forward to more info on. Second was Forza which looks pretty but…. I’m no good at such racing games. Which is a shame I guess.

Then there was Hi-Fi Rush which was the unexpected new game. It looks so cool and pretty, with an anime style and it’s a kinda rhythm based combat thing? Plus it has a cute robot kitty. I was instantly sold on it and it’s meant to be coming today which is cool. (Though sadly it seems you need a series x or s for it which… I don’t get)

Then there was Elder Scrolls online (more in a bit) and lastly Redfall. Redfall does look cool and pretty spooky, plus it has a lighthouse which more games need. I dunno if I’ll play it myself but it’ll be interesting to watch others play (xbox uk at least will).

After that was the dedicated Elder Scrolls Online thing, which was some more info on the game. The up coming chapter is Necron, set in Eastern Morrowind and it’s gonna be all…. Eldritch and tentaclely which is a vibes I’m here for (they even used cosmic horror as a description). It’s gonna be set partly at Necron, a necropolis city (which in a world of necromancy and zombies just seems like a terrible idea) and there’s a new class which looks cool. The thing that made me squee most (enough to spook Midna) was that Naryu is gonna make an appearance in the chapter which is so awesome to see her again! She’s one off the best characters and it’s been awhile since we’ve seen here (and as soon as they mentioned Morrowind I hoped she’d return)

Now I’m gonna finish winterwatch from earlier and then maybe go on The Quarry or something else.

I felt so bad when someone told me Panic is splitting because they were really upset and I just wanted to say "Brendon's...breaking up with himself?"

I saw someone say about panic breaking up that ‘since it’s just Brendon does that mean he’s shattering into a thousand pieces’ and that amused me

But yeah you can’t help but think such things when it’s just him

Yeah, that's a weird announcement to process. And I could've sworn there was another "we're breaking up" thing in the news several years ago. Is Brendon going to put out music as a solo artist, just not with the Panic! name anymore? And how would that be different from whatever he's doing now?

Yeah it really is a strange thing.

The announcement says that he’s calling it a day because he’s expect a kid. But the wording is such that it wouldn’t surprise me if he came back in the future as just Brendon doing solo stuff. But who’s to say really?

I had no emotional reaction to the Panic news at all. Honestly, any interest in the band was gone a long time ago and like you I had no desire to see the Brendon show.

My primary emotion was surprise, but other than that? It’s such a shame since the band had such potential (though I did love the into th unknown version for frozen 2)

I didn't know Panic still existed. It sounds like it was mostly just in name but I still feel sorry for the remaining fans. It's always sad when your band ends.

Once Spencer left I honestly lost track of them. Like I knew High Hopes was a thing, but it also seemed like…. Panic wasn’t panic because it was just Brendon you know?

And yeah I do feel bad for them. I know some people have been mean or gloaty which just feels mean
