Snowflake challenge 9

I’m thinking of doing a catch up post on some of the other snowflakes, but I’ll just do todays.

Challenge #9

In your own space, celebrate a personal win from the past year: it can be a list of fanworks you're especially proud of, time you spent in the community, a quality or skill you cultivated in yourself, something you generally feel went well.

I dunno about other people, but last year has been one of those that felt like it was more than one year. As such it’s hard to look back on and find things. (And, with how bad most of the latter part was, I don’t particular want to). And it’s not helped that I wanted to do so many things last year and then, for one reason or another, I never did.

Does surviving count?

(Autocorrect tried to put that as surfing, which…. I’ve certainly not done in the last year)

The only real thing that came to mind is that I passed the uni course I did last year. The thing is though I’m not really… proud of it? It turned out to be not as interesting as I hoped and when I went to choose this course I realised that I could/should have done a more interesting one instead (because I couldn’t do them now, stupid points system)

There probably is a fic I thought went well, but I can’t think of it now.

It kinda feels like anything else I’ve gone to type is a downer, so I guess I’m gonna leave it there (maybe I’ll redo this when my mindset is better)

Which yeah my mindset went really…. Off last night which was annoying, not helped by it suddenly going cold again. (And the government being, not for the first time these last days, being assholes again)

I watched a few things but my focus wasn’t there. A shower kinda helped but mostly against the cold side. I did end up in bed listening to a who audio on bbc sounds which, ironically, had an idea from the Dalek invasion of earth which seemed both odd and fitting considering I just watched it.

Today has been sorta better? I’ve done some uni stuff (I’m still mostly *insert I don’t know what I’m doing clefairy gif here*) so I might the assessment done by tomorrow. Well, not done done, but enough to submit it and be done with it.

There was a new Mandalorian trailer this morning, which looks great and reveals a date of March for the new series. It looks cool with Coruscant (or Hosnian Prime?), and the Mandalorian starfighter and R5 and battle droids just hanging out. But also… ugh seeing Mandalore like that is so sad and what’s with the order 66 seeming flashback?

Now I’m gonna bundle and winterwatch is later, and maybe finish Who ray stuff tonight (and James’ tour announcement, hope for one here)

Of course surviving counts. It's why I worded the challenge like I did because sometimes things are incredibly hard but you kept going. That is a win and something to be proud of. So be proud of yourself, okay? And if you aren't, well your friends will be for you.

And while you may not have found the course interesting you did pass, and that has to be a win.

Not that I'm saying don't redo the challenge in the future, but don't put down what you've said here now, either ♥

I guess, though I couldn’t help but think when I realised that if I’d failed I could’ve done something better this time. It’s so dumb the way they do things

Surviving absolutely counts. It was a wretched year and getting through it is a big accomplishment.

It really was. When I tried to think of good things (and I dunno if it’s causa my mindset) but all that came to mind was all the nonsense.

I might do some in an additional post (cause I just looked through the fic tag and there are some I enjoyed)

But even if I did those two wouldn’t be included because those were from the year before😮

Surviving totally counts! Depression is hell and just surviving one day at a time can be a great victory!

I feel for you! It's so frustrating when a course turns out to be much less interesting than it sounded beforehand. Still, you did pass it and that's always a good thing.

Yeah! The course I did was earth sciences which sounded interesting… but fuck I wish I’d done the chemistry or biology one instead
