shadowhiveToday has ended up being so tiring, because the next door neighbour who offered to cut the Christmas tree down came round this morning to do it. That meant I was going back and forth with bits of tree to the green bin until it was full. He offered to put some in his green bin which was good but ugh, it was tiring. I dunno how he did it.
It looks so odd since most of the tree is now stripped down and there’s just a few meters of trunk. It’s so odd. But the top of the tree is in. There’s no decorations on it yet, but I think mum draped some Christmas lights on.
Yesterday ended up being a lazy day as predicted. Our other neighbour had offered us a cat scratching post the other night so we accepted it and when she bought it is was actually a three tiered cat tree! Midna seems to like the second level but I’m not sure if Leia has investigated it yet.
There were three DreamSMP lore things so I watched them and I have so many questions. What is Sam doing with Micheal? Why did he put Ranboo in prison? Why was he so ok with killing him? Where is Dream and what is he up to? Was his taunt ‘I’ve got him to’ just to scare Tommy or has he actually got someone? (Although Unf, Dream setting a trap in Tommy’s house was just… Unf) Badboyhalo is so sweet though (and Quackity is so mean coming on just to send a message and be mean)
Annoyingly Quackity’s Las Nevadas stuff is going off sale tonight which is just so… ughh. I could have got it if it was just staying up a few more nights but nooo. Ughh!
I did wake and found I’d won a December giveaway code, so I went with Teacup because it looks so cute and Froggy 🖤
Anyway tonight was the Doctor Who flux finale so I’m gonna post thoughts quick
So the finale had a lot of threads to pull together, but did it work? Well yes, but also no.
Some parts of it worked and other parts didn’t, which I think has been a thing about Flux as a whole. An example of this, perhaps the clearest, were the villains. By this ep Swarm and Azure just felt a bit… eh, and their end felt a bit anticlimactic to say the least. The Grand Serpent seemed to be a better villain, but we hardly learned anything about him and, with him being exiled, felt like he was just left there in case they wanted him to come back.
The sontaran were more effective (bar the odd chocolate fixation). Including a mention of the Rutans was nice thoug 🥺 the Lupari. Also the plan to lure the cyberman and dalek fleets together to destroy them with the flux felt like such a great idea it seems surprising they came up with it. (And the effects for that were awesome!)
As for the flux itself… it seems odd that the universe is still destroyed by it, that the Doctor didn’t even try and fix it despite the implication last episode (and in this) that it was possible. Did stopping the flux undo the damage it had done? Hmm.
And what about the ood on the division station? Are they still there? Are they safe?
Another thing that was mixed was all the characters. Kate was introduced as ‘leading resistance against the sontarans’ but she didn’t seem to do anything, which really is a shame. Hopefully she does show up again in one of the specials next year to get a proper spotlight.
It was nice to see Claire bought back though I almost expected the angel to come out and attack the sontarans. I guess the others did to get them out. Poor Jericho though, he deserved better. And poor Karvinista, unable to tell the doctor what she wants to know because he literally can’t, losing his people and now? Maybe he’ll come back with a Vinder and Bel. It was good that those two had something to do this time and Dan’s friend was so cool having figured out the passengerform. Though was she in there alone? Are there other passengers with other survivors still out there?
It seems that the Master is definitely gonna be behind the doctors regeneration, and that it seems he’ll have allies but who? I guess we’ll see. I guess we’ll also see what else is in that fobwatch, the way the Doctor told the tardis to hide it… unless they really need it seems to imply it will come back again.
The new year ep is gonna be about the daleks which… seems to be the pattern. It also seems (from a later ad) that they’re in some sort of time loop which will be interesting. Though it does seem odd to being them back just one ep after their fleet has apparently been destroyed by the flux.

I always catch the end of Doctor Who while I'm waiting for Strictly so I like to see what you say about it, and you can fill in the gaps. I stopped watching regularly in the Matt Smith era, but I still think those Angels are creepy.

Aww thank! The angels ep of this series was definitely my favourite one. I’m not sure how I feel about the whole thing yet though. They definitely are so creepy!
