The image of an angel becomes an angel
Nov. 22nd, 2021 12:07 amToday’s been an oki day. I’ve been on Pokemon diamond some more. I beat the first gym yesterday and just did the valley wind works today. I’m a little annoyed at it though causa the exp share being constantly on. On the one hand I spits less of a grind levelling up. On the other op I’m trying to level a shellos up to the rest of my team which is hard when they’re bloody levelling up more as I do it. Ugh.
I did get the creepy skeleton on Animal Crossing today which is one of the new things I’ve been looking for. Yay! *sings skeleton*
I watched Jungle Cruise today on Disney+ and it was pretty good. It was fun and it was nice to see a gay character acknowledged in a Disney film, even though he didn’t get a relationship in it it was a nice little scene.
Thoughts on tonight’s Who ep before I go to bed.
So I’ll say it, Village Of The Angels is definitely the best ep of the series so far.
The angels are used so well throughout and are actually pretty scary. There was a lot of nice uses of the ‘image of an angel becomes an angel’ thing, including one scene where one came through set alight which was pretty awesome.
The revelation that these angels, at least, are actually a division extraction squad was an interesting one and was a neat way of tying them into the overarching plot. And that end, where the Doctor is taken spot be ‘activated’ by the division, does this mean we’ll see more of them? And what of that rogue angel in Claire’s mind are they gonna come back or stay hidden in her?
I might actually watch the ep again before next week and not just because mum missed half of it.
I was less enamoured with Bel appearing part way through, which I felt broke the story a bit but I guess there had to be some connection with the flux in there. The second scene with her, where she sees people taken by passenger, was actually a better scene and gave her appearance more meaning.
I’m definitely curious about the next ep, not least because the next time featured Kate Stewart coming back which I’m so glad for! I felt she was underused and was slightly annoyed at the offhand way UNIT lost its funding was worked into Resolution. (Seriously who wouldn’t fund a force against aliens in a universe where there’s active and hostile threats against the human race on a regular basis?)
Tomorrow I’m heading out to town in the morning so hopefully I can get some things, including new earphones cause mine have decided to fuck up tonight, ugh.
