Lando’s not a system he’s a man

The past few days have, again, been largely uneventful.
(I’m gonna avoid a ramble about the frustration on the idiocy and incompetence of the government.)
Thursday was the main eventful day because of the Disney announcements and the game awards. I didn’t watch the Disney announcement stream thing, so I got most of the info from twitter. There is going to be ten new Star Wars series coming to Disney+! We already knew bad Batch, Cassian and Obi-Wan series, but it also confirmed a few rumours. There’s gonna be one set in the new High Republic time period, two set during the Mandalorian and we are also getting a Lando series! I’ve been hoping that there would be one so I’m so glad about that.
It’s a bit odd that none of them are confirmed to be after the sequels (a droid one with R2/C-3P0 could be set anywhere) so I suspect that’ll be a blank patch for awhile.
It’s interesting that Hayden is back for the Obi-Wan series. Does this mean he has dreams/flashbacks? Or maybe visions?
There was also some marvel announcements but alive not watched most of the trailers for them. I did watch Loki though which looks like it’ll be pretty good.
The Game awards were, as always, long and were more announcement than actual awards. I did enjoy the two concert bits towards the end though wished they were longer (Hades music going to AC was awesome!). There were a few interesting games in the announcements, though other than ESO and the Callisto protocol I can’t recall them. It’s also a little annoying that Last Of Us won so many awa4s, especially due to the reported poor working conditions and crunch that the workers went through, surely that should’ve disqualified them from best direction but Ugh.
Yesterday was The Mandalorian which was a more straightforward eps (but after three weeks with major reveals that was ok). It was nice to see shoretroopers and the hovertank drivers appear again. And it was interesting to see Mayfield in a new light. It’s clear that he lost someone during operation cinder (or was just horrified by it)) and wasn’t surprised by what he did.
Hopefully next week they get Bo (and rescue Grogu).
Today’s ended up being a bit of a bleh day. I was gonna put a film on this afternoon but I just went so tired. That was probably not helped by it being an unusual Saturday.
Mum’s friend called yesterday, like she usually does, and she wanted to bring the Christmas stuff/pick up stuff she had delivered. The trouble is she’s had Covid and works in a care home so mum didn’t want her in so the exchange was made outside. That meant I had to be down to hold Naryu while it happened, and then mum wanted to go out with her as soon as it was done.
Of course the one time we walk her early we get a missed package thing through the door which ugh.
Tonight is strictly, which if I’m honest I’ve only half watched the last weeks, and then The Shape Of Water since it’s on channel 4. And then maybe game or watch something.

Disney+ mentioned so much new content I was kinda overwhelmed.

Date: 2020-12-13 06:01 pm (UTC)The Shape of Water is such a strange film. I saw it as part of a screen unseen, where you go and see an early release film without knowing what it is. I don't know if I'd have gone otherwise, which would have been a shame as I did enjoy it when I watched.

Date: 2020-12-13 08:26 pm (UTC)I‘d never saw it before, but I had heard about it and was curious. Yeah it was pretty good, probably not something I’d watch a lot
