shadowhive: (Yord Shirtless)
There’s gonna be a few posts other than this coming soon. First the October monthly round up, then the next J-horror rising thought (since I watched one Monday and one Tuesday). But now is about yesterday.

I woke to the awful news from out in America. I’m not gonna dwell on it (because if I do I’ll go crazy) but I’m so sorry for American people. Hopefully things change when the votes are fully counted (I’m barely they were calling places before they fully were) but…. Yeah.

Anyway yesterday was a planned trip to Birmingham again. The main goal was to go around the museum, since it had just been reopened but… well we’ll get to that. (I’ve made a post on insta with pics I got and might later with other pics).

First stop from the station was the Flying Tiger shop and I got a cute wallet in the shape of a cassette tape, cause I really needed a new one and I love how Guardians coded it is. They also had two Halloween mystery bags so I picked one up (alas the Halloween stuff was mostly gone which is a shame cause I wanted the coffin boxes I saw online). In the bag was a giant pumpkin basket, a creepy picture, a cool looking cape and… some fabric thing with bones on it. I think it might be for a dog? But I’m not sure.

Then we went to the game out and I got a few cheap games, Risk Of Rain 2, Past Curse, The Persistence and Trine 4 (along with a taskmaster thing). I dunno much about any of these games, and I still haven’t played the ones I got from the previous outlet visits but…

I also got a pj set from Poundland, I just thought it was a tee, but it also had pj bottoms with it. Thing is they don’t match. The top is like a Jack Skellington face while the bottoms have bones on?

Then there was Forbidden Planet, I got the next of the Star Wras series I picked up last time (I still need to read the first 2), a Star Wras book, the new Star Wars magazine (it has an interview with Yord’s actor!) and two of the reduced holocomm figures. They’re figures in blue with a base that lights up like holograms and I was just gonna get one to see what they were like but mum insisted I get the Han one too so… I’ll have to see how the light looks soon.

At this point we went to the museum and it was on the walk that mum said she’d been woke up super early by Leia so she was getting tired and I wish she’d said before we left cause we could’ve postponed it. We got to the museum and we only really saw two bits, the round room at the entrance and the gallery which ended in the stuff from a portrait artist of the year winner, which was nice to see.

When we went to another bit mum asked a staff member where the wildlife pictures were which was the other bit we hoped to see and… ugh. It was in the separate part of the gallery across the street and was a charged exhibit, which was disappointing cause it seemed a lot so we didn’t go in (though got some postcards from the shop). The annoying thing? We had no idea it was a charged exhibit. It wasn’t mentioned in the email or website I’d seen, nor in the Whats On magazine mum saw it in, or even outside. So it kinda feels there was either a major miscommunication or it was made a charged thing last minute.

But cause we left the museum itself we didn’t go back so I’m also disappointed we didn’t see anything else. I might go back in when I see Sleep Token in three weeks, cause the venue is in that direction but we’ll see.

We had noms, then went a quick look through the bullring (we just got a few bits from m and s and some hotel Chocolat chocolates) then went to the station. I picked up the Scarlet Witch graphic novel from smiths (which is about the witches road! And has Agatha! So I’m hyped about that)

But yeah it did feel a bit disappointing we didn’t see much of the museum or the wildlife photos (and when I got back I was so tired and just ended up floppping).

Today energy has been low and I’ve been a bit headachy (though it has cleared now). So the plan now is to snuggle with Midna then Taskmaster later and maybe Stranger Things tonight (and maybe ficcing).
