Revolution!
Feb. 24th, 2023 12:08 amSo after the last post I didn’t do too much. I did do some of The Quarry, finishing chapter 8, though I am annoyed at myself for missing a tarot card towards the end (and the way it autosaved meant I couldn’t just restart and get it) so now I’m missing two. (I think in large part that was because the xbox image capture went annoying and just… ugh, so I have to sort that out. It takes images fine but apparently the cloud side is full which I didn’t know it could be) I did consider doing chapter 9 but it’s a big chapter and I just felt so tired so I left it. I’ll likely do it next week sometime.
(Ranboo’s stream was also worth a watch cause damn the eye make up)
Today has proven to be a bit… odd. I had to go see if there was any of the cat food the girls like at home bargains, cause they’d run out of their dry food (and there seems to be few packs whenever I go). I also picked Naryu up a unicorn in a continuing attempt to find one she likes (it seemed like she was interested in this one when she saw it in the bag but not so once we were home).
On the way back home she was acting strangely, pulling over to me, trying to tangle around my feet a few times. Sure sometimes she gets like that when I go in somewhere and she’s waiting outside (and sometimes when she thinks there’s treats) but this time felt different somehow.
Anyway we were almost at the end of one of the paths home and I don’t know if Naryu just pulled too sharply or what, but mum was down on the floor mid sentence. (I say or what as sometimes she falls without warning so I’m not sure if this is one of those times.) Thankfully the ground was soft and it wasn’t the pavement, so although she caught her ankle she seems mostly fine (if shaken). Hopefully she rests up a bit and isn’t just… incredibly stubborn and tries to do too much.
This weekend is game last which I usually watch someone of, but I don’t think I will this year. I used to watch a bunch of people from an Xbox site but that vanished or rebranded a few years back and the guy I watched last year is doing a bunch of stuff (but none of the games interest me and one is… hogwarts legacy ugh).
Tonight I’d considered going on the quarry some more but didn’t have the focus so decided to continue with the Who ray run, which tonight was The Space Museum.
The episode starts out promising, with the opening part being so strange. The model work of the exterior of the museum looks cool and the effect of the glass of water breaking and un breaking was so great especially for the time. It was also an interesting concept, with the characters being out of sync with where they had landed. And of course, the reveal at the end of them as exhibits.
The other three parts feels a bit less effective though, which is a shame. Everyone second guesses what they’re doing, trying to work out if every action (or inaction) leads them to that end point of them being exhibits.
Everyone also gets separated, which leads them to doing their own thing. The doctor gets captured, then escapes, then gets captured by the main villains where he spends most of the ep. An is a bit more proactive, holding people hostage and getting into fights. Poor Barbara gets…. Locked in a room and gassed. Meanwhile Vicki gets a great arc, helping out the rebels, giving them access to the armoury by messing with the lock and gleefully declaring Revolution! Her arc was easily the best of the four to the point where if she had chosen to stay at the end I wouldn’t have been surprised (and been happy with it).
There are a few odd things though. The museum itself is a bit odd, getting no visitors and being essentially deserted… and yet it has a bunch of guards and a sizeable armoury. It’s also built not on or near the Morok’s home world but instead on someone else’s, who then rebel and destroy it at the end. (Which seems a bit odd in itself.) And then there’s the strange thing of one of the exhibits being a Dalek. How did the Morok’s (who honestly seem a but useless) end up getting it?
The ep ends with the lead in to The Chase, which I’m looking forward to as I remember liking it.
All in all though it’s a good episode, definitely better than some but not my fav (I’d say it’s probably my 3rd of the season?). It’s a bit of a shame then that the special features are a bit lacking for it, there’s no behind the sofa again (which is really starting to feel like an oversight now, why does this season have eps without them when they’ve been a feature on every other ep?) nor is there a making of (perhaps understandable because there’s probably not many people left but still). There’s one feature in defence of it (likely from the dvd) and a new one about collectibles which was interesting and fun (I hope they put other ones of the series on other box sets) and that’s it. Hmm
Anyway now I’m gonna rest and then tomorrow there’s a huge bunch of stuff to watch.
