Friday Five - books
Mar. 12th, 2021 02:19 am1) Have you read more books, or fewer books, this past year than usual?
About the same probably? Though I felt like I was a slow reader.
2) What book are you reading now (or what book did you read most recently)?
I’m currently reading through Light Of The Jedi, the first High Republic book. I wanna finish it before reading any other High Republic stuff, even the comics. It’s pretty good so far, though kinda sad in the first part. I’m part way through the second section and meant to read more this week but only did a bit today.
I also was working through From a Certain Point Of View book for Empire Strikes Back before that, but have took a pause on that since it was kinda grim in places.
3) What is the best book you read in the past few years?
I’m gonna have to see the last Night Vale book, The Faceless Old Woman Who Secretly Lives In Your Home. It came out last year and it’s a book that surprised me because I couldn’t put it down. It’s about the titlular Faceless old Woman and her life before Night Vale which is incredibly surprising. It’s an adventure for the most part and it’s really cool and good, though at times heartbreaking. I think it’s something you can enjoy without listening to the podcast (Night Vale itself only shows up towards the end) so if you’re looking for a female centred book...
4) Do you read more than one book at a time, or just one?
I usually try and just read one, because I lose focus. I will read other non-novel books sometimes though (like reference books or such)
5) How big is your to-be-read pile (or list)?
Oh boy, I have a lot of books in my to read pile of doom. (Though I recently moved most of them tomy book shelf.) My next few books I want to read are Thirteen Stories (by the guy that does The Magnus Archives) and into The Dark (the next High Republic novel)

Mum had done a thing through the bbc site for some sort of arts thing and that was on Wednesday. It was a rather strange thing, it was done by Zoom and was for the bbc worlds service, with people from Stockholm. It was a bit of a mixed bag. The comic was funny and I found out Stockholm has a beautiful metro system that’s full of art.
Wednesday was also Mario day so I went back on Sunshine a bit. I’m still useless at the secret levels, which is so annoying, but I unlocked the village which is good.
Today’s been oki, I did some messing around sorting the stuff out near me. I watched the circle from Wednesday and boo, Duncan left. Then tonight I did some Fenyx Rising, finishing the Aphrodite’s quest line. The vault is a real proper dungeon, complete with a boss which was a surprise.
Why does iPad have an other space in storage that you can’t do anything about and is always huge? Ugh.
I’m probably gonna doze soon though I’ve got Maxx’s stream on. I think tomorrow is uneventful.
