Viva Festivale!
Feb. 16th, 2021 12:43 pmThe weekend ended up being a pretty lazy one which was good though I did watch some films. Like I mentioned in my last post we watched Tangled which was fun. I think Saturday afternoons might become ‘watch a film on Disney+’ time.
Saturday night I decided to watch The Cleansing Hour on shudder, which was about a guy that live stream exorcisms... except he’s a fake and then you can guess what happens. A thing that puzzled me as I watched was how often they showed people watching the stream, because it seemed a tad overkill for establishing it was watched all over (by the end there was probably at least 6 different groups watching it all over) and then I realised there had to be some sort of payoff at the end, which... there was. All in all it was good, but not something I’d watch again probably.
Sunday’s film was Love Simon which was on Film4. I’d not seen it before so was looking forward to it and it was pretty good. I don’t often watch teen high school stuff, but it was nice to see something with a gay character front and center (especially since he gets a happy ending). It does make me wonder, as all these things do, are American high schools really like that? With the focus on sports teams, house parties and driving. I think the follow up series Love Victor is coming to Disney+ so I might watch that when it does.
After that I watched Wandavision (wtf is happening? And the sword guy is an ass). I also started the new Carmen Sandiego too.
I’d thought about getting some Lego with my money and, since there was a promo on the Lego site, thought about getting something from there. Unfortunately I’ve held off too long and the promos (for a Valentines set and a Chinese New Year one) seem to have both ended. Damnit. Maybe there’ll be something when I get meds tomorrow if there’s half term discounts. (I know there’s some at Argos but...)
I did do some gaming this weekend but not as much as I thought I’d do. Most was on Mario and I completed the castle world (so world 6) on Sunday. I didn’t do more yesterday because it was Festivale on Animal Crossing.
Festivaleturned our to be pretty good. It was nice seeing all the villagers around happy and dancing. And it was nice to get a chance to get the other Festivale furniture in the other colours. Although I was able to get the full sets for some there were others (especially the garland) that I didn’t get any of which was a shame. It’s also annoying that, after exchanging so many feathers, it meant that you had to gather 3 rainbow ones to give to Pave. For the 3 rainbow feathers you get a float and it’s big and flashy and, unlike the other big things, it actually functions! It moves and places music but it’s just not something I’d want multiples of.
I might end up going on a treasure island to get the other colours when there’s a dodo drop.
Yesterday mum was at the library so was alone so that was good. I did some uni reading but ugh, it’s pretty depressing stuff because it’s about pollution. I hate humans for what we’ve done to the planet, though as is often the case it’s not ‘us’ that’s to blame, but rather the big company’s and the rich which are.
Mail came yesterday. I was waiting on some new trainers and they seem to fit pretty good when I used them today. The other thing was a bunch of things someone sent me. I knew they’d sent something but was surprised by how much there was! There was a some sweets, a BB-8 mug and some the child stuff, including the Black series child! He’s so tiny! I might keep him boxed, just because the accessories (including the knob and soup dish) are so small. Today a qwertee came and it’s so cute cause it’s got The Mandalorian characters on it in chibi style (including frog lady!)
Speaking of mail it seems that the new Doctor Who boxeset will be sent soon since the money has been taken out and the order is ‘sent to warehouse’. The strange thing about that is it’s not due to come out for three weeks so if it’ll be sent that means it’ll be super early, which yay! I’m not alone in getting the notification and people seem to think it’s because the site I got it from might be closing, which seems odd but would explain why the next one isn’t up on there.
I did a bit of gaming last night but not as much as I was gonna do. I did some Stardew and Ugh, there’s been no thunder for the batteries which is annoying. I also did a run on monster train and I’ve still not beaten it again which is annoying, but at least I unlocked the last clan. I was gonna do some more but watched Maxx’s stream and then felt too tired.
There’s a new bandom kink meme on ao3 and I ended up leaving two prompts but it seems a bit... eh. (Most of the prompts and fills are Frank/Gerard which bleh.) but what I find really odd is the rule about no ‘illegal content’ it seems to be just there so there’s no Waycest, but it really goes against the spirit of kink memes to be places where anything goes which sucks a bit. bandomkinkmeme I did had gained traction but then I never did a fill for it so...
I did start a fic on Saturday but my brains a bit bleh writing which is annoying.
I might do another love meme post later or tomorrow but we’ll see if anything comes to mind. But for now I’m gonna snuggle, do switch daily stuff and maybe read.
