Yesterday turned out to be semi productive. In the morning I started my Uni assessment, doing the first 2 of 5 questions. I’m gonna get back to more soon. After walking the pup and having noms I had the afternoon alone but I ended up just nesting, probably because assessment drained my brain power. I’d hoped to read or go on eso but nope.

Tickets for MCR go on sale Friday because of course they do. I doubt I’ll get to go causa that but we’ll see.

When mum came back from the library I found out she’d had a tumble on the way there. She was ok for the most part though had caught her knee pretty bad. Someone had saw and gave her a lift which was good. I hope she takes it easy but... it’s mum so who knows.

Someone at the library said to her we should get Padme, my guinea pig, a new friend and gave mum info on the rehousing place they helped at. The fb has a few pairs and they look cute so... who knows.

Last night I watched the usual tv and managed to finish fic, woo! I dunno what I’ll do next but we’ll see what comes to mind later. Maybe I’ll do the xmas prompt I’d started.

I was gonna go on ESO but there was some sort of issue with it so I couldn’t, ugh. Instead I went on age of wonders planetfall and did the tutorial mission. It gave me definite civilisation vibes but I’d hoped for an achievement fit the Xbox quests. I ended up watching an ep of Lucifer and Bobs burgers before going to snuggle.

The rest of post is under a cut and about the latest Who.

In your own space, recommend a fannish or creative resource. Leave a comment in this post saying you did it. Include a link to your post if you feel comfortable doing so.

Ok, so when I think of fannish resources what first comes to mind are wikis. A lot of the biggest fandoms now have wikis and they are so incredibly useful. Most, no doubt, will be well known.

Wookieepedia is the Star Wars wiki, which covers the films, tv shows, books and comics. It’s such a useful and fascinating resource

The Arrowverse wiki is for th3 arrowverse, Arrow, The Flash, Supergirl and The Legends of Tormorrow. I’d always keep the site open when I was watching episodes

The TARDIS is the Doctor Who wiki, with stuff related to The Sarah Jane Adventures, Torchwood and the audios too.

Memory Alpha is for the various Star Trek series

Xenopedia is for Alien and Predator

All of these follow a similar format and are all incredibly useful resources. Even if you don’t write for them, they often give fascinating insights into the specific fandoms and behind the scenes stuff.

Back in the lj days people did these things called primers, with a main comm being bandom primers. A primer would be information about a band, usually full of pictures and links to interviews. It would include bios and histories on the band so would be useful. Unfortunately most of these are both out of date and, as with much things from this time, photobucket have screwed up the images sadly.

I also did three primers myself on Madina Lake, The Blackout and Bullet For My Valentine, if anyone is interested.
