shadowhive: (Prince Sidon Zora Prince!)
So after two fairly... Eh posts lately this one is gonna be a bit better.

So yesterday I decided to go to the streetpass meet in Birmingham. There's usually one a month, focussed on a nintendo game for the 3ds or Switch (in the past there were wiiu ones too, but not often due to the logistics). I wasn't sure if I'd go since it was a Sunday and it can be a pain to get there, plus a storm was due. But since the storm came Saturday night as I went to bed I figured things would be ok.

I left home a little earlier than necessary, so I could check in the shops by the station for the Solo sticker book. Thankfully one had one, so I got that and some sticker packets (though I got quite a few doubles annoyingly).

The bus replacement for the train did arrive (sometimes it hasn't) and it was almost full, despite being a double decker bus. I wasn't sure why it was until I got to Birmingham and found out Pride was on. I didn't see any of it though sadly, but I saw a fair few people with rainbows and stuff that made me smile. One day I will actually attend one since I never have before.

Instead I went in a few places on my way to the meet. I got some Solo stuff from Disney due to their bank holiday offer, got a unicorn cookbook and got a few blu rays from poundland. I took [personal profile] raks advice too and got a notepad for thoughts.

The meet was for the new Donkey Kong, which I don't have. There was a challenge to do a few time trial levels which I was pretty bad at. The main thing though was that ahh, Mathew was there. He is so cute and, honestly, was my main reason for going since he was attending. I dunno why I like him so much, but there's something about him. And when he played the ocarina I felt my eyes become hearteyes. I wish I had a gaydar that worked so I knew if he would ever be interested, but even if I did I would likely fail.

After the meet I came back home and on the train back I started writing in the notepad... And then the storm came back. Apparently the storm had been here awhile before I got back and when I got home I was soaked. About an hour after I got back we had a powercut too which sucked. We've not had one for years and it looked like it would last ages, but was probably only about half an hourish.

Even so, yesterday was still a good day, it was nice to get out and meet the guys again and Mathew even invited me to join his other Switch meet up group so we'll see how that goes
